chaat is one of my favorite foods, and i love going to bikanervala. it's always super busy and has an incredible assortment of desserts and sweets on display. however, what really stands out to me is their chaat selection. my overall favorite is their samosa chaat--i absolutely adore the yogurt sauce and the perfect blend of spicy and sweet chutney they use, along with the crunchy, perfectly seasoned potato filling in the samosas. the service is decently quick; i usually get my food within 20 minutes. there's plenty of seating inside, and i really enjoy taking food to go too, since they carefully separate each item so nothing gets soggy. the staff is very nice and accommodating. totally recommend checking out the spot.

In search for a good chaat spot on oak tree road back n forth, we found Bikanervala in a corner of a shopping strip. I was going to order our go to items: Bhel puri, dahi puri and chaat papri; however the manager on duty suggested couple of other items, which we did. We ordered Raj kachori, Chole bature and Chaat papri. Raj kachori was very good. Very savory and flavorful. It was the first time I had it. The chaat papri was pretty good too. Excellent blend of spices and seasoning and the presentation was pretty good. The Chole bature was good too. I thought the puri was excellent, but the Chole themselves were ok. I mean, I've had better. They were still good taste but i didn't care for the paneer that was in the dish. Overall, I will return to try other items on their me

We had Chole Batura and pani puri! I would say pani puri tasted average! But the chole batura is excellent! Service is extremely good! Everyone who works there are the sweetest!

So we had few friends from London and Texas and want to try authentic North Indian food . I told them about Bikanevala and they got excited as this is one of the fav restaurant in North India(I have been to this place number of times and always love it).. We went their and ambience was so authentic.. it's like sitting in Bikanevala in Noida,India. We ordered chola bhatura, Delux Thali, Rabri falooda and kesar badam milkshake.. Pros : food was amazing and we can choose what we can have as vegetable in Thali which was new and good Service was quick and I like the personal touch from owner/manager.. Cons: none found

This place has amazing authentic Indian street food! The Raj Kachori was refreshing and delicious and the deluxe thaali was absolutely amazing (they give you multiple paneer options to choose from as well which I loved!) My favorite was definitely the Rabri Falooda which is unlike any I've had; it's definitely a MUST HAVE! The Masala chai was really good too. Highly recommend stopping by!

We were here on a weekday for lunch and the service was extremely slow. There was a big confusion on which server will wait us. Order placed took 25mins to arrive. We ordered cholay baturay to share. The food came hot and tasted delicious. Then we ordered kulfi falooda which was disappointing. Whilst the desert was decorated well and looked very appealing it didn't taste that good. Also, it took us three calls to the wait staff to remind them that we are waiting for our desert. They were busy talking to each other. In fact, the check also took time to arrive. The dine-in experience was just 2 stars, but we did take desert to-go which was delicious. There was just one person behind the counter and was trying to serve multiple people at the same time. They charge deserts by the wtg. It seemed a bit expensive but delicious.

I used to love love this place when they opened. We stopped here on our way back from New York to savor some Edison level indian food. We ordered chole bhature and kulfi falooda. Service was slow. It took time for the guy to come get the order even though the restaurant was pretty empty. Chole bhature was pretty good taste wise. Kulfi falooda was a lot better when we had it last time. Their quality is going down. Bathrooms were very dirty and the place overall did not look very clean. I'll still stop by to pick indian mithais whenever I'm in Edison but I might not eat here again.

We tried the south Brunswick location and wanted to also try Edison branch . Sweets are kinda good .. there are other sweets shop nearby , like mithaas , that we normally go to, but wanted to also try something new. Price is almost similar and taste was good. We ate some chat items - samosa was good .. but others were a little average . Parking available in the front and rear side of this shop. Customer service could be better . The lady at the counter is very customer focused and talks gently.. the guy could be better towards customers . Thought of giving a 4 , but the customer service pulled it down to a 3.. thumbs up to the owners and management ...

Came here for some snacks but ended up being a bit disappointed. We got chai but they only had Splenda sugar out for sweetener. The papri chaat was pretty ok but the chole bature was also ok. We had high hopes. It just didn't have a lot of flavor and service was just ok. Just a bit underwhelming.

The best place in New Jersey if you're looking for Delhi waale chole Bhature. It reminds of the taste that you get in Purani Delhi. Also I love this place because of the awesome thali they have which has delicious Veg curries like Paneer Makhni, Palak Paneer, Daal Makhni, Naan, Baasmati Rice and complimentary sweets and Pickle also. I can't stop talking about the items here, I belong to Darjeeling and I am a fan of Momos. The momos that we get here reminds me of home made Momos, its delicious Also try their Pyaaz Kachori and Daal kachori, you will not find traditional taste like Kachoris anywhere else except Bikanervala. Whenever I stop by at Bikanervala, I always gets tons of different sweets packed coz I simply cannot choose one over another. I am a big fan of Bikanervala's Rasmali, try their Gud Rasmalai as well it's something different that you'll only get here. So if you're in New Jersey and fan of Indian sweets and snacks don't miss to go to Bikanervala.

Had heard from friends about Bikanervala opening in New Jersey. So decided to visit during my last visit to Edison. Don't go expecting the variety that India stores have. For some reason, Indian chains when they open shop in USA, can't replicate the variety available there. Maybe the expert cooks are not available here. It is a mini-version. I found lot of namkeen varieties. Sweets were very few. On asking was told, that sweet variety frequently changes. Some of the items are constant, but they do bring out 'specials'. I bought a bengali sweet (hadn't heard the name before...now don't remember what it was). Tried it at home and it was very good. They have a snack shop attached, which I didn't get to try. Maybe next time.

Saoji is a fiery, deeply spiced, mostly non-vegetarian cuisine said to have originated with the…read moreHalba Koshti weaver community of Madhya Pradesh. When the community migrated to Nagpur in 1877, their food followed -- spreading through the tradesfolk and mill workers who embraced its bold flavors. Today, Saoji is considered the signature cuisine of Nagpur: intensely spiced, unapologetically hot, and built around powerful, roasted masalas. Tonight we ate at Nagpuri Saoji in Voorhees (they also have a location in Iselin), and these two spots are reportedly the only places in the U.S. where you can experience this cuisine in its full, blazing glory. To Start We began with sabudana vada -- the classic Maharashtrian fritter made from tapioca pearls, mashed potatoes, peanuts, and spices. Served piping hot and impossibly crisp outside with a tender interior, they came with two chutneys and were absolutely sublime. Alongside that was goat sukka, a dry-style mutton preparation associated with the Mangalore and Udupi regions, with spice influences tracing back to Goa and even Arab and Turkish traders. Coriander, fennel, cumin, black peppercorns, and fenugreek give it depth and warmth. It was bold, savory, and incredibly flavorful. The Curries I ordered chicken kala masala curry, and it was deeply earthy, nutty, and robustly savory. "Kala" means "black" in Marathi -- referring both to the color and to the roasted spice blend itself. Cumin, coriander, cloves, cinnamon, stone flower, coconut, sesame seeds, and chillies are roasted and ground into a dark, complex masala that lingers beautifully on the palate. We also ordered Goat Handi, with tender meat in a velvety, aromatic gravy, and a Malwani goat curry, made with Malvani masala from the Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra -- a spice blend that balances heat with coastal warmth and depth. Rice, plain naan, and indulgent Amul cheese naan rounded out the meal. Dessert We finished with Sitafal Rasmalai (custard apple-infused rasmalai) and Jamun Rabdi -- both creamy, fragrant, and perfect against the lingering spice. A Few Notes Like much traditional Asian cooking, the meat dishes are cooked on the bone -- so eat mindfully. And if you request "hot," they mean hot. This is not toned-down spice; this is the real deal. I was thrilled to try dishes from India that I've never made before. Saoji cuisine is bold, unapologetic, and absolutely delicious -- and I'll definitely be adding some of these flavors to my home repertoire. If you have the opportunity to try this cuisine -- do it.

The tarri tasted weird so it ruined the entire dish. Same tarri was present in the misaal too, so this dish was ruined too. Sol kadhi was average. The service was fast and the ambience is okay-ish. Honestly, would not recommend this place for their vegetarian options!
