I haven't been to Bonefish in quite awhile and was in the area, so I reserved a table for two on Saturday evening. There was no wait time when we got there and were able to be seated immediately. There were a mix of families as well as couples seated throughout the dining area. It wasn't too busy but also felt crowded sitting so close to a large party. The menu is pretty straightforward with a variety of food dishes. I ordered the beef and ginger potstickers as an appetizer and the rainbow trout with mashed potatoes and broccoli for my entree. I was offered different sauce options for the trout even though the menu only listed lemon butter, so I already had my mind prepared for that. I didn't expect the sauce to be served on the side, and because it was, it made the trout look extremely dry. After tasting, it was indeed dry. The broccoli was just plain broccoli, nothing special to report. The potstickers wrapping was harder than I expected, like a hard shell; however, the overall flavor profile was not horrible. I guess I shouldn't have assumed the potstickers were going to be boiled or steamed with a soft texture. The beer tap was completely empty. There were absolutely no draft beers on this Saturday evening, so I ordered the dragonfruit margarita which was actually very good. Whether it's in Tampa or NJ, Bonefish Grill remains one of my favorite spots to eat. I stopped for lunch yesterday and had an amazing time as expected. My family and I frequent this bonefish a lot. It is one of our go to restaurants. At times it can be a hit or miss especially if you are ordering something that you haven't tried on the menu before. For the most part my family has our go to dishes we always tend to order at bonefish. For example for appetizers we enjoy the bang bang shrimp, imperial dip, or the beef and ginger potstickers. Some frequent entrees that tend to be ordered is the Bone-In Fontina Pork Chop, Half-Pound BFG Burger, and Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos. Now, when we order something different it can be a hit or miss. For example one of my family members decided to try the barrel filet and couldn't eat much of it because it was too dry and tough. I decided to try the Creamy Tomato Linguine and I enjoyed that dish. Overall my family enjoys bonefish for the most part more days than others. We love the complementary bread because it is nice and soft. We also love the pesto, oil, and salt dip for the bread. Couldn't of asked for a random stop at one of our favorite spots. If you've never been to a bonefish think elevated dining without the hype, drinks without the price tag and service with a smile. If you aren't too hungry they will even split the meals for you. Highly recommend the Jules, martinis or a lemon drop for drinks and all the apps can easily be a meal. Bonefish Grill in Woodbridge, New Jersey has been a special place for my family and me. Over the years, we've celebrated graduations, promotions, and countless moments of sisterhood there. Sadly, our most recent visit created a core memory for all the wrong reasons--one rooted in discrimination and bias. On Labor Day, my daughter, my sisters, and I went to Bonefish Grill for some quality time together. We were looking forward to happy hour and some much-needed girl talk. Since the bar was crowded when we arrived, we sat at a table instead. Chelsea, our server, was kind, attentive, and made great suggestions from the menu. We were very patient with her, as she mentioned she was new and we happened to be her first table. The evening was going well. After enjoying a couple of rounds of drinks, we noticed that seats had opened at the bar where the TVs were located. Since we had already paid our bill, we decided to move there to continue our evening with another cocktail and perhaps a few appetizers. However, as we gathered our things, Manager Vanessa Colon approached us. Instead of welcoming our move, she told us that we would not be served further because she "didn't understand" why we wanted to change seats. She assumed that we needed to be cut off and refused further service. When we asked what led her to this conclusion, her tone was hostile and argumentative, and she raised her voice. Hoping to de-escalate, we requested a private conversation. Instead, she led us to the waitress station, in clear view of other guests, and continued to state her assumptions about why we should not be served. Despite our calm explanation--that we simply wanted to watch TV at the bar while continuing our evening--she dismissed our reasoning and said she still didn't understand why we wanted to move. After having this unpleasant exchange and leaving our drinks unattended at the bar, we were forced to request that the last round of drinks be removed from our tab. Only then did Vanessa realize her assumptions were unfounded. She offered us a $25 gift card, but by that point the experience had already been deeply upsetting and, unfortunately, forever triggering. We were shocked and embarrassed by how this situation unfolded. We had done nothing to warrant being cut off, and to be treated with such hostility and judgment felt discriminatory. We left feeling humiliated and deeply disappointed. What was supposed to be a joyful family outing instead became a memory of bias and exclusion. This experience has left us questioning whether we will ever return to Bonefish Grill, despite the many happy memories we once associated with it. read more

I decided to do the new shaved Brussel sprouts salad with grilled salmon as an entree and it was okay but again nothing that would make me want to come back. We went because we heard they revamped their menu. The food is okay (it was worse before the revamp). We had calamari which was delicious. I ordered the grilled salmon & shrimp skewer with lemon butter sauce and I would give the salmon a 6 & the shrimp were pretty good so probably an 8. My friend ordered the steak (medium rare) it came out rare. We both got the whipped garlic potatoes & broccoli. Broccoli was undercooked but the potatoes were really good. Would I come back? No, I'll find another franchise, this one isn't for me. But really great server & the place and atmosphere are great too! read more

Better than it has any right to be featuring a very fine Lobster Bisque and a very ample Seafood Fettuccine. I suspect at this point the battle of the chain seafood joints is over as the moribund and dismal Red Lobster is running on fumes. One final thought... why is the question of adding "protein" to my entree always so disconcerting. I always fall for it believing that I'll come down with rickets or scurvy if I cheap out. Bonefish grill in Islin. So far this resturant is getting 1 start possibly less if I could. I walked in - sat here for a good 10 mins / literally THREE waitresses walked past me. Nobody greeted me - said NOTHING. About 3 other tables sat down - the waitress again walked right past me to serve them. Literally 6 people standing at the front - nobody asked was I being served - everyone was standing around. This is about 4:10pm / pm Friday. What a relaxing evening the 3 of us had. Bonefish has a 3 course meal for 2 for $46. My companion and I participated in the special. I had the grilled bone-in pork chop. It was nicely charred, flavorful and tender. Included was their house or caesar salad. I always enjoy their citrus house dressing and tonight was no exception. The key lime cake was included and we both enjoyed it. My companion had the Lily's chicken and the other person had the shrimp and scallop skewers. We all enjoyed our meal. Friends of mine wanted to get together and chose this place as our meeting spot. I think we had last been there shortly after they opened. I don't remember, it was so long ago. I was pleasantly surprised. Service was excellent and the food was pretty good. My friends told me wait person that I was allergic to shrimp, and she advised me to stay away from all of the fried food because everything is fried in the same place. So, I didn't get to have the fried calamari appetizer, but the mussels Josephine were phenomenal. I had the ahi tuna steak for dinner. I asked for it to be very lightly seared and served rare, but it was not quite rare enough. I am not sure why I didn't get the sauce that I ordered for it, but I wound up using some of the sauce from the mussels on the tuna. One friend had the shrimp and scallops skewer, the other had the spicy tuna bowl. Everything was pretty good. We finished with the brownie for dessert, and spent a lot of time talking. It was good to be back together after so long. All of the restaurant employees were masked but I noticed a lot of people congregating who were not wearing masks while waiting for tables. I think people should be more considerate of the waitstaff and wear them. It was a very good evening and beyond my expectations after reading the other reviews on here. read more

Sadly no photos but solid business dinner this evening! There was 5 of us- it wasn't too packed but was kind of busy for a Wednesday. Service was good and food was as well! I always appreciate complimentary bread for the table- we then ordered famous bang bang shrimp (so good- just as i had remembered) and we also started with the imperial dip- assorted seafood with cheese, good to share! Started with an abundance of piping hot bread with a side of olive oil. Yumm! Struggled to pick what to get on the menu! I had one of the specials - the shrimp and scallops over fettuccine. Came to the Bonefish Grill (Iselin/Woodbridge) for a friend's Birthday. She loves this place, it's actually my first time here. Welp, I now love it too. Everything we had was soooo good. Friendly staff, tasty drinks, but I found that they're not that strong, which can be good or bad depending on your preference. Complimentary Bread w/Pesto Oil (not pictured): This was amazing!!! So tempting to ask for more. Corn Chowder & Lump Crab Soup w/bacon: This sounded good, but it was definitely the weakest link in this chain. Not bad, but not the best I've had. Calamari: DELICIOUS!! The calamari was well prepared, perfect texture, & their BFG (Bonefish Grill) sauce is incredible. I prefer a signature sauce for calamari as opposed to traditional marinara, so I was very happy about this. Bang Bang Shrimp: Such a delicious sauce it's tossed in, well dressed, & again the preparation was perfect. Lobster & Shrimp Roll: This was my main course. It's chunk lobster meat & diced shrimp tossed in their BFG sauce w/shredded lettuce on a toasted baguette. This is a specialty menu item. Very good. Not the best I've had in this category either, but good. Cold Water Lobster Tail: This is a standard, but really well done. I heard it was good, & it came with drawn butter....which is the only way to serve it. Scallop & Shrimp Skewer Combo: This was the Birthday girl's dish. She said it was excellent, & even had enough of it all to take a to-go box. Salmon & Shrimp Rangoon: Such a unique twist on "traditional" Crab Rangoon. Very well made, tasty (I got to try this one), and certainly unique. I'd order this for myself next time. Cheesecake: INCREDIBLE!!! It was simple & yet some of the best tasting cheesecake that I have had in a loooooong time. This was almost worth the whole trip alone. read more

I had a seared tuna dish that was basically inedible, and then a salmon special that was at best OK. I really don't blame the restaurant, I feel like they're just playing in the hand they were dealt by bonefish grill corporate. it's just depressing to have to eat food so mediocre. All that being said, it's still about 10 times better than the train wreck that is Kona Grill, just down the road. Good Lord, what a debacle that place is. read more

Unfortunately, the food just didn't cut it. Both of our dishes were cold as if they were sitting in the back for awhile. It did not taste freshly made. We both were craving dessert but didn't even bother because we did not want to be disappointed again. The best part of our meal was the complementary bread they serve in the beginning. I have heard of Bonefish Grill but never been to one until this experience. We were seated quickly and our server was friendly. There was crayon marks all over our booth but otherwise it was clean. The food took a bit to come out as they seemed to be understaffed. The food was well seasoned with abundant portions and correct temperature. I ordered the bonefish signature pasta with shrimp but it was delivered to the table with salmon. I ate it as I was in a rush and didn't have time for them to remake the dish. When we were done with our meal, it took about 10 minutes to get our check and have it picked up for payment. read more

First time here; located in a decent area full of nearby options, ample parking in front of the restaurant, walked in to an awkward exchange between what appeared to be a manager and hostess. When entering an establishment I shouldn't be greeting you first. Young man seated us. Sitting, reading the menu, looking around....10 mins later another couple gets seated behind us, server goes over to welcome them, bring bread, take orders. Lol. WTH. I look bewildered and still nada. Meanwhile the place isn't super busy on a Saturday around 5pm. I literally have to stand up to approach a staff member, dude informed us we aren't in his section but he will provide service. First impressions are everything and at this point I should've left and tried an eatery nearby because I was turned off. Server was attentive from this point on. Bread and oil brought to the table, everyone's happy, 10/10. Pineapple martini was good, very sweet, not strong, my husband asked for an extra shot and was given liqueur lol. My chocolate martini was yummy. Food; chips n seafood dip 10/10, potstickers 6/10, bang bang shrimp 8/10, butter fish with mash 8/10. Key lime pie 5/10, flourless brownie 6/10, very cake like, if you like that then it's great. Overall we left full and n ready to enjoy the rest of our night. We called ahead and were told it was a 35 minute wait, when we got there we gave our names and decided to sit at the bar. After ordering drinks and waiting 1 hour we were finally seated when my boyfriend went to ask the host since he saw 2 couples walk in and be seated right away. We honestly think they forgot about us, if not we were only 10 feet away at the bar and the host could have updated us in regards to the longer wait. Honestly we were better off ordering at the bar. The best thing we ate was the free bread and oil dip. To start we had the bang bang shrimp, calamari and crabcakes. They place the shrimp on lettuce in a bowl to make it look like theres more. The crabcakes were OK. The calamari was disgusting, it tasted as if it was freezedried and then rehydrated, it disintegrated when you ate it. For dinner I had the shrimp tacos, disappointing that it didnt mention that the salsa was spicy on the menu, I couldnt finish them. It seemed as if they were understaffed but our server was nice. I had a pleasant dining experience when I came on a week night for dinner. I came to this location for lunch and it was not great. My dinner experience was much better. I sat at a table near the bar. It was Monday so they had a special for $6 on all martinis for Martini Monday which was a good deal. They provided bread and oil for the table which was tasty and warm. Was a bit of a wait when we arrived. I decided to try both a new drink and a new meal. The martini was a great combination of sweet and spicy. I normally don't like drinks with jalapenos but it really tasted delicious and it is now my new favorite drink. I also don't tend to order or eat salmon and I was torn between that and another selection. In the end I was glad I went with the salmon which was a special. It came with cherries that were marinated in a bourbon sauce and glaze. I would definitely order it again on future trips. read more
