We see this daily when we go to the gym. Tonight was the night to give it a go! So glad we did! The rustic theme throughout is highlighted with reclaimed wood for baseboards, the walls, and bathroom doors. There are even swinging doors heading into the kitchen! Nice selection of music! The empanadas were so flavorful and delicious. Both entrees were so tasty! Will definitely be back. The waitress was pulling double duty and was very attentive. She was taking orders, checking take out orders out and checking on us throughout the meal. HIGHLY recommend but if you like to add salt and pepper to your food bring some with you! Ordered a pork sandwich and a full tray of sautéed chicken cubes. Received the wrong pork sandwich but it was tasty. The chicken cubes on the other hand were not worth it. The "beef base sauce" is just beef broth. Nothing sauce-y about it. The potato cubes were a conundrum. They seemed part boiled then slightly fried. Either way they were underdone. Portion size is laughable. We ordered full portion but received what seems like half portion amount of food. The food was swimming in the beef broth. Flavor of the chicken cubes was non-existent. Im not talking about salt levels. Just flavor in general. Not sure if the intent was to braise the chicken in the beef "sauce" to infuse flavoring. I regret leaving a tip. The tall cashier with the cotton ball skullie and thick belly (Isidro?) was quite rude. Most cashiers address customers and tell them they'll be right with them, but he didn't clarify which of 3 customers he was ready to help nor when he was finished. When he packed my & my party's food, I asked him not to seal the bag because we had separate destinations. I literally cannot eat any meat off the bone that includes fish with bone in tact. I was so turned off. The rice was under cooked (still hard). I would try something else from there next time. Upon reading Isidro's accusation that my post was fake news, I called the restaurant this morning to speak with him. I was advised that he was not there. It is unfortunate that Isidro would become defense and lash out rather than accept the truth about his staff. 1 - I made no mention of being at the establishment in December but that was Isidro's defense...that there "was not a lady cashier in December." In the real world, we real customers add our reviews when prompted by the app, or when we get a chance to. Yelp asked me about my experience, I answered honestly. 2 - Rather than address my issues regarding his cook and delivery man, he accuses me of not being concerned about safety because I stopped in Planet Fitness. How far do you have to go off scope? Rather than address my concerns you question my judgment. At least your neighbors at PF and Primavera's observe Covid-19 protocol. Unfortunately, you guys don't. 3 - As I called this morning, if you really feel this is fake news, post the time you will be there this weekend, and I will gladly stop back in so you can call me a liar and I can tell you again how everything transpired. We got take out here Monday night. Arrived early and the food was just sitting there, not being kept on a warm surface like they do in other places I've been to. Waited at the counter watching the guy standing back there just texting away, not caring about customers. Someone else finally came over to help me. Got home and of course the food was luke-warm. My husband opened his food to find a long black hair on his sandwich!! They also didn't scoop out his bread, like we asked them to. I ordered ribs, as always, and got ripped off, as they gave me half the ribs in my order this time. I have tried repeatedly to like this place, but the dirtiness, unable to complete orders on time, and the lack regard to special requests, has me going elsewhere from now on. Craven BBQ in Linden turned out to be a real gem. My son and I visited the restuarnt and were quite impressed with everything. Prices are good, food and service amazing. I had the short ribs and it came with yellow rice with veggies and french fries. the ribs were so tender they just fell off the bone. Yum. My son had steak and he said it was cooked to perfection. I have to say the flavor of everything was spot one and made us wanting more. They use real glasses which I loved (I Hate plastic cups) and they even serve different wines. The staff were great, friendly, pleasant and accommodating. We felt more than welcome and we will definitely return. read more

Ok I am going to be completely honest. I had zero expectations of this place because I never ate there and only read the reviews. I'm a traditional bbq person and have not had Portuguese ribs that I really liked since moving to the area 6 years ago. Well that is, until today. They were tender and perfectly seasoned and cooked. (A little fatter than I like but excellent otherwise). The rice was good and the chips were cooked exactly the way I liked them. I ordered online and it was done when I went in and that's the same time they said it would be done. Impressive for that. I did not care doe the garlic shrimp. The employees were super nice and attentive and for once when you go into a place people are working and not standing around bullshitting. Kudos to this place. Will be back soon!!
