Not life changing but a lovely spot to grab some good Peruvian food if you're in the area. Located in a very convenient area (street metered parking). Service was super friendly and attentive without anything having to be repeated which was a bonus. I ordered the chaufa especial (shrimp/beef/chicken) and it had a smokiness to it that I enjoyed. The yucca frita didn't have the crunch I was expecting but still got the job done. The chocolate cake is served cold and while it was rich it could have been enhanced if it was slightly warmed. Overall would return to grab a quick bite.

Came here on a friday evening. Ordered the salmon with rice and beans, with a side of tostones and sweet plaintain. My sister ordered the pesto pasta with chicken. Everything was really good and tasted high quality. Our waiter was very nice and attentive as well.

Easily my favorite diner experience this year so far and would have been a 5 star review if parking was a little bit less stressful and I wasn't the biggest fan of dessert. It was my first it was my first time in the food was absolutely delicious while seasoned you could tell it wasn't microwavable food. You could literally see the fire in the kitchen in the back amazing. I had the fish. I'm still wondering what kind of fish it is to this day. It was amazing. I can't wait to go back very popular well-known spot in railway so the race is flavorful. The drinks are good 10/10 recommend visit if you're in the area.

Came here with work place associates whom I actually work with. This place came highly recommended by one of them and I agree that this place is good. We shared a ceviche, some seafood thing that came with stewed rice, and a bistec with hawgauinna sauce. I don't know how to spell it and I'm too lit to look it up. But, is some creamy yellow sauce. it's like Peruvian Alfredo sauce but with more flavor. I think we got a good blend of food. Maybe a serving of pollo al brasa or beef heart would have rounded out the food square. For dessert we shared purple corn drink but jello style. I was asking in my broken Spanish if they did mazza mora con arrow con leche but at that time I kept asking if they did half half. The waitress was nice enough to politely said no they didn't have ride pudding at the time. This place is legit. it got the seal of real real Peruvian restaurant by real Peruvian was when I saw the mural of llames at one of the bathroom. Cc accepted. lock your doors when you street park. not Paterson dangerous but Rahway safe.

The place. Even the entrance is inviting.

This restaurant is a gem. The food was so delicious and the flavors were just perfect. The presentation of the food was inviting and when we tasted it it hit the spot. If you are in the area, stop by and enjoy a delicious meal. The restaurant is clean, it has a nice atmosphere. Our server was attentive, and was always making sure we were ok. Very friendly.

The quality of food is excellent as you can see from my picture of my large portioned soup. I ordered Chupe de Mariscos, a seafood chowder containing onions, milk, cheese, egg, corn, carrots. The seafood Includes shrimp, mussels, crab, octopus & calamari. Chicha Morada a Peruvian mixture of water, dark corn, cinnamon, pineapple and cloves. A nice treat. Staff keeps the place clean. Prices reasonable Server Franklin was attentive. My one critique is less "arroz" in the Chupe.

Great evening to go have dinner with the family, got a reservation for table for 7ppl. We arrived 630pm, had a bit of difficult tome finding parking. Our waiter Christian was very attentive, friendly and polite. We order appetizers Jalea ( lightly fried assorted seafood fish, mussels, fried yuca, squid and sweet potato with a side of pickled red onions, papas huancaina, seafood ceviche. Just about everyone on the table order bistec a lo pobre. This is a good size steak med rear, with sweet plantains, French fries, rice And a sunny side up egg on top, dam is good. Others ordered skirt steak with the green spaghetti, which is tasty and the meat is well seasoned. Cant go wrong with either one. This restaurant is always busy and now they have expanded the dinning room so there are more tables. Great spot for a family dinner.

Food and service were great but the ambiance was not. We would have ordered more food, and stayed for dessert and coffee had it not been so obnoxiously noisy.

Big portions! I dined here with 8 of my family members and we were able to enjoy each dish as family style. Staff is courteous and friendly. Food is delicious, will come again!

Located in Rahway on Irving Street, one of my colleagues ordered from this establishment for an in-house potluck event, and the food was delicious. Today I placed online from Sabor Peruano, which was easy, and decided on 1/4 rotisserie chicken with white rice and beans. Remarkably, the food was delivered a bit earlier than the scheduled time by Door Dash. The food arrived hot, well packaged, rich in flavor, and tasted delicious. The portion was spot on and the price comparable to the area. I could recommend this place and am hoping next time to dine in.

If you're a fan of Hugo's, you'll absolutely love Caído de el Cielo. The décor is Soo cute, creating a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. While the restaurant doesn't have a liquor license (though you can likely bring your own), they serve a delicious chicha morada, refreshing lemonade, a variety of Peruvian sodas, and your typical American soft drinks. From the moment you walk in, the welcoming staff and excellent service set the tone for a great dining experience. The portions are generous, too! We kicked off our meal with the "Trio Causa," a traditional layered potato dish seasoned with ají amarillo and lime, filled with chicken, tuna, and seafood, topped with pickled onions. It was super yummy! For the main course, we had the Arroz Chaufa, a seafood stir-fry rice dish that stole the show. This dish is loaded with seafood- crab, large shrimp, mussels, and calamari, enough to easily share among 2-3 people. We also tried the Lomo Saltado, and wow! The sauce was incredible, and the steak was perfectly cooked and incredibly tender. Parking can be a bit tricky since it's street parking, but don't let that deter you from experiencing this wonderful place. If you love Peruvian food as much as I do, you won't want to miss it!

Choritos a la Chalaca was good, its mussels marinade with lime, served with red onions, tomatoes and cilantro. Lastly, the Jalea was good as well, these are deep fried seafoods (fish, crabs, mussels, etc.) served with onion salads. I will definitely go back next time to try other lists in their menu specially their ceviche. Well recommended Peruvian place!

Recently, we discovered that there's a much larger part of the restaurant in the back, accessible through the alley off the main street via the rear parking lot. The space is decorated with Peruvian art and vibrant colors. To start, we ordered anticuchos (grilled beef heart skewers). The marinade is packed with delicious. I honestly thought I was eating steak. I ordered the chupe de camarones (shrimp chowder soup). I cannot stress enough how big this bowl of soup is. They do not skimp on the shrimp! It's probably one of the best chupes I've ever had. I ended up taking a large container of it home. Likewise, my partner ordered the chaufa mixto (Peruvian fried rice with chicken, steak, and shrimp). Always ask for the green sauce, absolutely delicious! Just like with my soup, he also had plenty of leftovers. To wash it all down, we ordered chicha (a purple corn drink), which was so good. This place is known for its rotisserie chicken, so we ordered a half chicken to go for the following day. I understand why it's everyone's go-to here, juicy and flavorful. We don't live nearby, but the food, friendly service, and generous portions of delicious dishes make it well worth the trip.

Mana is a nice space with a huge mural painted on one wall with several tables spread out in the restaurant with a comfortable distance between them. To the right is the counter where you order and pay. The restaurant is clean and welcoming and I would have been happy to dine in had I not been running errands. The food is mostly laid out on a steam table behind the counter. I saw different kinds of chicken, pernil, potato salad, green salad, empenadas and more. I wound up ordering yellow rice with black beans and a baked chicken leg. I also ordered a side of Maduros and a chicken empanada. Here's how I found everything (keeping in mind I took it home to reheat before I ate it): Chicken Empanada Unlike most empanadas I get nowadays, this one seemed to have been fried, with a crispy, yellow outer shell. The crunch was fantastic and I really liked the flavor. The chicken inside was super tasty and I immediately wished I had ordered another of these. Maduros I LOVE a good plantain but they are surprisingly hard to find. I would say if I go to five restaurants with them perhaps only two will have really good ones. Maduros should have a nice chewiness, maybe even a bit of caramelization on the outside with a wonderfully sweet flavor. I am happy to report that Mana has exactly this and it was great! Chicken & Rice with Beans The rice with beans were good and had some veggies mixed in. I've had better and I've had worse, so this falls straight in "B" territory. The chicken was the same - tasty, well cooked, moist but the flavor was average. Flavor-wise this is a good dish (not amazing). That said, the *serving size* was tremendous and there was enough rice for me to have over two meals and for that it deserves high marks! I really enjoyed the food from Mana. Sure it's not the best ever, but it was good and priced reasonably. I'd definitely go again.

What Thai food dreams are made of…read more I first got hooked on Thai food about 20 years ago--grabbing takeout from random food carts and a tiny Midtown spot called Rain. One bite in, I was done for. Since then, it's basically a rule: if I see a Thai restaurant, I'm stopping. Over time I've graduated beyond pad Thai (growth), and I'm always on the hunt for the next standout dish. This past weekend, I found a hidden gem. And I mean hidden. Don't let the exterior fool you--it looks like the new owners took over a long-retired diner that last saw its glory days sometime around the Reagan administration. Inside doesn't do much to change your expectations either... very "vintage 80s diner chic," and not in the trendy way. Then you're greeted by a kid who looks like he's juggling high school algebra homework while simultaneously bussing tables, taking orders, running food, pouring drinks, and working the register. Absolute Swiss Army knife. Honestly, I've been to fully staffed restaurants that don't run half as efficiently. Now the food--this is where things get serious. I usually start with papaya salad, but I saw they offered soft shell crab for an extra $3 and thought, "say less." The crabs came out perfectly fried--crispy, not greasy--two generous pieces sitting on top of a bright mango salad with a light vinaigrette. Ridiculously good. For mains, I went with my usual benchmarks: beef pad see ew and duck in red curry. Both delivered. The pad see ew had a solid portion of Chinese broccoli, noodles cooked just right, and that perfect balance of savory flavor. The red duck curry? Rich, fragrant, and the kind of dish that reminds you why you fell in love with Thai food in the first place. No exaggeration--these might be the best versions of both dishes I've had in 20 years of eating Thai. And I don't say that lightly. I was just in Vegas and went off-strip to try a highly recommended Thai spot... this place beats it, easily. My wife agreed, and she doesn't hand out food compliments like participation trophies. At that point, we figured dessert was mandatory because clearly this place refuses to miss. Mango sticky rice came out and--shocking--also excellent. Sweet, balanced, and a perfect finish. Total bill was around $100, including a large Thai iced tea (also on point). Bottom line: this family knows exactly what they're doing. If they keep this up, they won't be "hidden" for long--they'll be packed with repeat customers who, like me, came for curiosity and left planning their next visit.

All the food came out hot and you could tell it was just made. However, items on the menu felt hit or miss. The tom yum soup, personally a miss, something about the smell of it was off which affected my taste. The roti in the roti thai style was really good and flaky, but the massaman curry was too thick. Drunken noodles were well made, and I had asked for spicy which the waitress gave us a warning that I might be "too much." However, it was quite the opposite and a bit below the spice level I was expecting. Also, felt like if you were ordering outside of their lunch special, the food is a bit expensive for what you get.

And surprisingly, this happened to be a very well known restaurant as our other coworkers knew about it! It's located across of CubaNu Restaurant & Lounge on the corner of Lewis St and Main St in downtown Rahway. There's paid street parking and parking garages around the area. My coworker and I shared their Calamari Al Forno, tossed with Italian sausage, hot cherry pepper, and balsamic glaze. And wow. Who would have thought balsamic glaze with calamari would be sooooo good! I'll definitely be ordering that combination again. The mix with the Italian sausage and cherry peppers added a nice kick to the dish. Both of us could not stop eating it even though we wanted to save room for our pastas. Our meal was off to a great start! I ordered their Linguini de Mar which was supposed to have four seafoods: shrimp, calamari, mussels, and clams. Unfortunately, mine was missing the calamari. However, the pasta was incredibly flavorful and the seafood was cooked perfectly - not overdone or underdone at all. YUM! My coworker got their Cheese Ravioli with the Bolognese sauce (unsure if it was extra as I didn't see the check). She loved her pasta as well! She's usually a light eater, but she devoured half the calamari appetizer and all of her pasta, which speaks volumes about how much she enjoyed the meal. I felt that the one downside was the unusual amount of water I drank (maybe ten cups?). This was my own personal indicator that there was definitely some sort of flavor enhancer which wasn't a negative thing. I'm not certain, but the food was very good, so kudos to them if that's the case. Overall, definitely a hidden gem! We unfortunately didn't try their pizzas/pies but this will definitely be on my list again the next time I visit. Or I may opt in for another round of calamari al forno and pasta again, haha!
