Best place in town , delicious food from Peru , lomo saltado , and leche de tigre my favorites

Ceviche was on point and so fresh. I love that they have a bar now and serve authentic Peruvian cocktails. The Algarrobina cocktail tastes like a spiked Ovaltine (but in a good way!) The wait time was a little long for our food once we were seated but we got to sip on our cocktails during the wait. Peruvian artwork filled the walls and my husband appreciated that his Quechua culture was represented. What a great restaurant for downtown Rahway. read more

I have tried many Peruvian spots and this one didn't hit the mark The rice was a bit dry, the yuca frita was hard and worst of all was that they are extremely cheap when it comes to the salsa I bought two large platters good for 5 adults and I got 2 small sauces And was told they charge extra for anything more. Not life changing but a lovely spot to grab some good Peruvian food if you're in the area. Located in a very convenient area (street metered parking). Service was super friendly and attentive without anything having to be repeated which was a bonus. I ordered the chaufa especial (shrimp/beef/chicken) and it had a smokiness to it that I enjoyed. The yucca frita didn't have the crunch I was expecting but still got the job done. The chocolate cake is served cold and while it was rich it could have been enhanced if it was slightly warmed. Came here on a friday evening. Ordered the salmon with rice and beans, with a side of tostones and sweet plaintain. My sister ordered the pesto pasta with chicken. Everything was really good and tasted high quality. Our waiter was very nice and attentive as well. read more

Easily my favorite diner experience this year so far and would have been a 5 star review if parking was a little bit less stressful and I wasn't the biggest fan of dessert. It was my first it was my first time in the food was absolutely delicious while seasoned you could tell it wasn't microwavable food. You could literally see the fire in the kitchen in the back amazing. I had the fish. I'm still wondering what kind of fish it is to this day. It was amazing. We visited Quilla Sabor a Perú in Rahway to celebrate my sister-in-law Titi's birthday, and the experience was truly outstanding. We ordered arroz con mariscos, tallarines a la huancaína with steak, and a classic bistec a lo pobre -- every single dish was delicious, perfectly seasoned, and full of authentic Peruvian flavor. For the price, the value you receive here is exceptional. A special shoutout to Juan Diego, who provided phenomenal service the entire night. He was attentive, friendly, and made the celebration even better. A couple of small notes for future guests: * The pisco sour arrived a bit too acidic for our taste, but the team kindly adjusted it and made it sweeter upon request. * There is a $2.50 fee per slice of cake if you bring your own to celebrate. Came here with work place associates whom I actually work with. This place came highly recommended by one of them and I agree that this place is good. We shared a ceviche, some seafood thing that came with stewed rice, and a bistec with hawgauinna sauce. I don't know how to spell it and I'm too lit to look it up. But, is some creamy yellow sauce. it's like Peruvian Alfredo sauce but with more flavor. I think we got a good blend of food. Maybe a serving of pollo al brasa or beef heart would have rounded out the food square. For dessert we shared purple corn drink but jello style. I was asking in my broken Spanish if they did mazza mora con arrow con leche but at that time I kept asking if they did half half. The waitress was nice enough to politely said no they didn't have ride pudding at the time. This place is legit. it got the seal of real real Peruvian restaurant by real Peruvian was when I saw the mural of llames at one of the bathroom. Ate here on a recent trip to the area. Not very many restaurants in the area but this one had good reviews. It was busy but we were able to get a table without a problem. The quality of food is excellent as you can see from my picture of my large portioned soup. I ordered Chupe de Mariscos, a seafood chowder containing onions, milk, cheese, egg, corn, carrots. The seafood Includes shrimp, mussels, crab, octopus & calamari. Chicha Morada a Peruvian mixture of water, dark corn, cinnamon, pineapple and cloves. A nice treat. Staff keeps the place clean. Great evening to go have dinner with the family, got a reservation for table for 7ppl. We arrived 630pm, had a bit of difficult tome finding parking. Our waiter Christian was very attentive,friendly and polite. We order appetizers Jalea ( lightly fried assorted seafood fish, mussels, fried yuca, squid and sweet potato with a side of pickled red onions, papas huancaina, seafood ceviche. Just about everyone on the table order bistec a lo pobre. This is a good size steak med rear, with sweet plantains, French fries, rice And a sunny side up egg on top, dam is good. Others ordered skirt steak with the green spaghetti, which is tasty and the meat is well seasoned. Cant go wrong with either one. This restaurant is always busy and now they have expanded the dinning room so there are more tables. Great spot for a family dinner. read more

Located in Rahway on Irving Street, one of my colleagues ordered from this establishment for an in-house potluck event, and the food was delicious. Today I placed online from Sabor Peruano, which was easy, and decided on 1/4 rotisserie chicken with white rice and beans. Remarkably, the food was delivered a bit earlier than the scheduled time by Door Dash. The food arrived hot, well packaged, rich in flavor, and tasted delicious. The portion was spot on and the price comparable to the area. I could recommend this place and am hoping next time to dine in. read more

Got Leche de Tigre and Tacu Tacu en Salsa de Mariscos. Both were wonderful. Not familiar with Peruvian foods so it was a bit of an adventure. They were very good, really enjoyed them. The portions were very generous, so be prepared for leftovers or to share. Highly recommended. read more

Went to pick up an order this past Sunday- it was my second time there & the place had WAY less people than there was during my first visit. The first time I ordered a fruit shake and a (virgin) Pina Colada to go. This second time when I went in, I ordered another Pina Colada & the girl told me I couldn't get one. I asked her why because I had gotten one before (maybe there was a legit reason) but she just kept saying no. When I asked for a reason she just kept saying no & the other 2 people at the bar wouldn't look me in the eye. The manager happened to walk up & she asked her if she can make a Pina Colada to go & the manager said of course (they didn't know I understand Spanish)! She begrudgingly made me a drink but, the cup was only half full & the rest was topped with whipped cream! I Such bad service.. the main lady was so rude! Unfortunately, I won't return. read more

Decor and service are good but the food was mediocre. They serve amazing desserts though, delectable chocolate cake and tiramisu. I'm not a fan of chocolate in any form but I loved their chocolate cake. Ordered red snapper but it tasted weird and left a bad after taste. I've tried their seafood rice and it was fairly okay.
