We are frequent customers of this good restaurant but this is my first time writing a review. Let me start off by saying the staff is always attentive and nice! The portions are also huge! I ordered the lomo entraña and it was ok. The steak was tender but the potatoes (fries) lacked salt and crispiness, which was a total bummer! The white rice was also a bit hard. My husband ordered the churrasco steak-delicious and so were the yuca fries! Nice and crispy!! HUGE portion! Lastly, the restaurant charges for the take home containers and an additional $3.00 for using a credit card :(

Haven't gone in a while. And they reminded me why. Food was good! Service was worse than ever! After being seated for a while the waiter finally comes to take our order. After saying the first item in our order (leche de tigre) he asked "anything else". Facepalm* how is that enough for a family of 5?? After taking our food order we started telling him what we wanted to drink. He said he would come back. Never did. The very nice food runner starts bringing out food. We ended up asking him for drinks... never came to see how food was or if we needed anything. They gave us 2 of the green hot sauces for our large order. Not that big a deal because the food was actually good! But what I was most shocked by was the bill. They charged me for to go containers. Incredible! Make sure you're done with all your food before leaving! Would have left a 3.5 if I could.

Had a friend's night and got Hugo's for takeout. We had Steak, shrimp fried rice, rotisserie chicken, and fried fish. The shrimp fried rice was amazing. It wasn't overly salty and the dish was seasoned very well. The chicken was pretty decent. The steak was one of my favorites as well. It was tender, seasoned great, and went well with the shrimp fried rice. The fried fish wasn't a fan favorite, however. I would come back and dine in because I was advised that the inside just was redone.

I had Hugo's with a friend on a Tuesday afternoon. It was fairly quiet. We were sat right away, the staff was kind. We ordered 2 waters, arroz chufa and 2 quarter chicken combo which came with fries and salad. Food came out fairly quickly, it was tasteful and the green sauce was made perfectly. We enjoy everything just thought it was odd the server made a tip comment on our receipt. I cant help but feel they did this because who we are

If you are in the mood for Peruvian food look no further. The entrance to the restaurant is in the back of the building you can use the side alley way to get there. They have a very nice outside section, however couldn't eat there, there was no space for my party of 6. Let me tell you, you will not leave here hungry in fact you might have lunch for two days. Lol! I have boys so you know they can eat they couldn't even finish their plate. Each dish we had was fresh, tasty, and piping hot. Our waitress was very accommodating as well. I will definitely be back!!!

I was in the mood for Peruvian food and decided to stop by this spot. I ordered the Tallarin saltado de pollo over the phone and the man said it would take 30 minutes. When I arrived I had to park illegally because parking isn't great in the area. I walked in and was greeted. I told the man my name and he said it wasn't ready yet. I waited about another 10 minutes or so and paid about $14 for a large tray. When I got home I dug in and the meal was good. It was seasoned so well and there was plenty. I had a good experience.

Overly priced "okay" Cuban food. Staff was nice and attentive, but there was nothing special about the food or the place.

Peru is much more than just Machu Picchu and other archaeological sites. It's a country where its…read morerich culture also shines through its internationally acclaimed exquisite cuisine, which has only recently exploded onto the international culinary stage. It is among the most generous and deeply rooted, with traditions reaching back to the Incas, a wealth of beautiful indigenous ingredients and culinary influences from Spain, Japan, Italy, Africa and China. Jersey is home to a wealth of Peruvian restaurants, found largely in Bergen, Hudson and Passaic counties. Passaic itself is home to the largest Peruvian immigrant population in the Garden State. Like food everywhere today, there is a new style of Peruvian cuisine emerging--so-called nueva comida--forged by Lima's leading chefs like Gaston Acurio and Pedro Miguel Schiaffino. Situated on a busy N Wood Avenue in Linden, some of my colleagues came to this establishment for lunch after a three-year hiatus. A reservation was made by calling into Stancia Peruvian Fusion Restaurant. Upon arrival, our table was ready inside a modern, well-decorated space with music blasting like a lounge to evoke a summer celebratory vibe. The menu is a bit fancier than other Peruvian eateries. We began with a jar of their homemade drink, Chicha Morada, made of purple corn, pineapple, lime, cinnamon and cloves described as fruity and tangy. As appetizers to share, we decided on Piqueo Stancia, Chalaquitas de Scallops, Calamar Frito, and Mini Papas-Rellenas. As the main dish, we opted for Pescado A Lo Macho (Corvina), Quinoa Chaufa with Scallops, Tacu Tacu con Lomo Saltado, Quinoa Chaufa with Shrimps, Quinoa Chaufa with Salmon, Tacu Tacu with Chicken, Pachamanca, and Arroz Chaufa de Pollo. Complimentary roasted corn accompanied the aji verde spicy hot green sauce that started our meal. Each dish is a work of art, not just in presentation but in the authentic flavor not too overpowering, it remained exquisite with a sizeable portion. This restaurant continues to impress us every time with their consistency and good customer service. Stancia has incredible food and a beautiful space, two things many restaurants struggle to get right. All boxes checked.

If you're a fan of Hugo's, you'll absolutely love Caído de el Cielo. The décor is Soo cute, creating a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. While the restaurant doesn't have a liquor license (though you can likely bring your own), they serve a delicious chicha morada, refreshing lemonade, a variety of Peruvian sodas, and your typical American soft drinks. From the moment you walk in, the welcoming staff and excellent service set the tone for a great dining experience. The portions are generous, too! We kicked off our meal with the "Trio Causa," a traditional layered potato dish seasoned with ají amarillo and lime, filled with chicken, tuna, and seafood, topped with pickled onions. It was super yummy! For the main course, we had the Arroz Chaufa, a seafood stir-fry rice dish that stole the show. This dish is loaded with seafood- crab, large shrimp, mussels, and calamari, enough to easily share among 2-3 people. We also tried the Lomo Saltado, and wow! The sauce was incredible, and the steak was perfectly cooked and incredibly tender. Parking can be a bit tricky since it's street parking, but don't let that deter you from experiencing this wonderful place. If you love Peruvian food as much as I do, you won't want to miss it!

Recently I had a hankering for a Rotisserie chicken and some Maduros so I decided to make a special trip. Pasion has its own parking lot (but I wound up parking in the Dollar Tree lot next door since I went shopping there too). Pasion is not the...most elegant looking restaurant. It looks rather old and aged (I do not know what year it actually opened). It's also oddly dim inside. Most of the interior is dedicated to seating and the counter where you order is towards the back. There is a bathroom off to the side. I ordered my food from a very nice lady and it came out rather quickly. When I got home I was surprised to find the chicken cut in a rather...rustic fashion. I'm used to rotisserie chickens cut into four, equal sized pieces but this was cut up into six pieces of varying sizes. Sadly, the chicken was rather dry but the green sauce that came with it was super tasty and spicy so dipping it into the sauce helped a lot. The Maduros were...not great. They had a bit of an oily taste to them that I've never tasted in Maduros before. It wasn't very pleasant. Based on other reviews here this place seems to have its fans and that's cool. This is a mom and pop business and I believe in supporting local businesses. I'm glad I tried this place, but I likely won't be gong back.
