My friend and I wound up at Don Alex's on Saturday evening after the restaurant we originally wanted to go to did not have any openings. What a true stroke of luck! Don Alex is a wonderful restaurant right off route 22 with delicious food! I had an order of Maduros to start and loved every second of them. Also, the tortilla chips came with salsa Verde peruana, which was also amazing. For dinner, I had lomo saltado, which is a dish of either chicken or beef with french fries, white rice, and peppers and onions. I have not had it in a while, but this dish hit the spot. I was a little shocked at how empty the restaurant was, considering how good the food was, but they also had a takeout side, which seem to have a lot of customers. If you are in the Kenilworth area, this is definitely worth a trip.

The food is consistently excellent. I ordered mixed ceviche and beef arroz chaufa, to be delivered; both amazing. Good portions and always fresh!

This is my family's best place to come for Sunday dinner. We always order the combo 3 because the chicken reminds us of our home country. The food taste fresh and it is made fast with the service because very quick. The ambiance is a wonderful place full of decoration and it makes you want to take your time while enjoying the wonderful food they make. My family loves this place and I am sure your family will too.

Literally DOG FOOD! Perhaps the most overprice and underwhelming meal I've ever ordered. I ordered the Lomo Saltado, which I always order from Peruvian places. It was MAYBE $2.00 worth of cheap meat, ZERO flavor and sauce, for $16! I will pay people NOT to eat here! This place is literally robing ANYONE who buys this "food". There are a TON of other places that actually make this dish right. The meat is mixed in, NOT slopped on top, there is actually SAUCE, and oh yeah, for almost $20 they give you a TRAY and not a TIN! This place will never get my business or anyone whose ear I can get. ¡Literalmente COMIDA PARA PERROS!

Seafood soup. And steak combo mega meal. Eggs, steak, fries, plantains, rice

Came here for lunch with a work friend. I ordered the seafood soup and it was really tasty. Needed bread or rice to make it more filling. They were under staffed for the lunch crowd on a Friday. Free tortilla chips and green salsa while you wait. We got a refill because the food took forever to come out.

8 inch round container. Other places give you double sized rectangle containers, double the food for the same price!

We really wanted Peruvian food and figured we try a new place. I called to ask if open and if there was a menu online. Woman who answered didn't speak English and didn't understand me. Decided to take the ride and order in person. Walk in and only 1 person working the front which makes sense during the quarantine! The second I walked in he starts talking to me in Spanish. When he finally stops I tell him I can't speak Spanish. He looks at me sadly and says "oh". Now 2 different people and 2 don't speak English. I have to point to my items on the menu that i want. Food is made quickly. I ordered the arroz chaufa beef and chicken. The price is similar to everywhere else $15 but you get no where near as much food and it might be the worst Peruvian fried rice i ever had. The container was the size of a side dish anywhere else. I would say maybe half as much as i have gotten at all other places. The rice was dry, some was burned and hard, there was no flavor and it was very greasy. Barely any chicken, beef or egg. It was basically all rice and scallions! I was so disappointed but it makes sense looking at their rating on yelp and Google both around 3 stars. Basically overpriced, no flavor, half the size portions of other places and they can't communicate with English speaking potential customers!

We order from work all the time and the food is getting better. We have a lot of orders at once so they're pretty good at handling it. Have been getting the combo which comes with either a quarter chicken or a half chicken with some rice and salad or fries. Chicken is mostly good pretty juicy and Pretty flavorful. Last t we also got this beef and onions combo with rice and it was also very good. When you get a half chicken it also comes with a really really big salad so that was nice. Overall the food is good but the green sauce is to die for! It is tangy but spicy, soo good.

We initially tried to place a delivery order, but delivery wasn't available at the time due to a system/machine issue, so we had to go in person to order, which was disappointing. I ordered the Arroz Chaufa with all the works, which is similar to Chinese fried rice. The quality of the rice and the meat was very good and everything tasted fresh. Unfortunately, the dish was extremely salty. I was told soy sauce is added to the rice, and since I usually don't add soy sauce to my fried rice, the flavor was overpowering. If it weren't for the heavy saltiness, it would have been excellent, but I couldn't eat it. My friend ordered the traditional Peruvian ceviche, made with fresh fish, lime juice, red onion, sweet potato, and other ingredients. He added hot sauce and said the flavors were good, but something--possibly the lime or soy sauce--was very potent, to the point where even the hot sauce couldn't balance out the saltiness. Another friend ordered the Arroz Chaufa with shrimp and unfortunately had to throw it out as well due to the saltiness. It was a shame, especially for first-time customers. Overall, the food quality seemed good and the ingredients were fresh, but the salt level made the dishes unenjoyable for us. With better balance, these dishes could be really amazing.

Recently I had a hankering for a Rotisserie chicken and some Maduros so I decided to make a special trip. Pasion has its own parking lot (but I wound up parking in the Dollar Tree lot next door since I went shopping there too). Pasion is not the...most elegant looking restaurant. It looks rather old and aged (I do not know what year it actually opened). It's also oddly dim inside. Most of the interior is dedicated to seating and the counter where you order is towards the back. There is a bathroom off to the side. I ordered my food from a very nice lady and it came out rather quickly. When I got home I was surprised to find the chicken cut in a rather...rustic fashion. I'm used to rotisserie chickens cut into four, equal sized pieces but this was cut up into six pieces of varying sizes. Sadly, the chicken was rather dry but the green sauce that came with it was super tasty and spicy so dipping it into the sauce helped a lot. The Maduros were...not great. They had a bit of an oily taste to them that I've never tasted in Maduros before. It wasn't very pleasant. Based on other reviews here this place seems to have its fans and that's cool. This is a mom and pop business and I believe in supporting local businesses. I'm glad I tried this place, but I likely won't be gong back.
