I was waiting sooo long for food they're always busy !!!!

DISCLAIMER: You don't have to be Latin to enjoy this food. I don't even know where to begin ! I've been eating here for years (3 to be exact) , their food is always great never had a problem (knock on wood)! They get extremely busy so order at least 2 hours in advance if you want delivery, pick up orders are much better. Their customer service is always good. They primarily speak Spanish but they also speak English as well so don't be intimidated. The Food If you're not sure what to get go with #20 !!! You can't go wrong the #20 is their signature house special. It's a big platter it comes with beans , rice, egg, and so much more. But to be honest everything is great here. I can't rant or rave anymore about the food you have to just experience it. You will NOT be disappointed. If you want some good home cooked food go here. I think having more places like this in the community is necessary , because small businesses do matter. Especially in a small town like union where most residents go outside of the neighborhood to do business. I think if more people knew about the restaurant it could be placed on scale along with a place like Cuban Petes.

Breakfast for kings and queens. This is the small size of their special/traditional breakfast. Delish!

First time trying their Bandeja paisa and it was great. We got the small size but it was still enough for 2 people who don't eat much. We enjoyed our high carb, high fat and high protein breakfast. LOL! Though bf said that their steak lacks flavor. The beef empanada had a lot of potato but i guess that's how columbian empanadas are since I had tried it somewhere else. I do love the hot sauce that comes with it.

    Beef (and Potato) Empanadas

I typically head to Elizabeth if I'm craving Colombian or Peruvian food; however, sometimes, it's just too far or way too busy. If you're around the Four Points area, I would recommend this place if you're craving Colombian food. The restaurant is small with probably six tables max. Free two hour public parking is available when you turn onto Bonnel Ct.--the parking lot will be on your left. Empanadas ($1/ea): Someone mentioned that the empanadas here are full of potatoes. After trying one, I can confirm that there are indeed a lot of potatoes; however, there is shredded beef that's mixed in. Initially, I did not taste the beef, but towards the middle of the empanada, you'll find it. These were served fresh from the fryer and with a side of an addicting spicy salsa. Bandeja Paisa ($14): Delicious. I can't say there is anything that distinctly separates the Bandeja Paisa here from other restaurants; however, I do think the chorizo is much more flavorful and that the steak is also slightly thicker than my go to place. I'm used to seeing the beans served in a separate bowl, but having it on the same plate was fine. The arepa was bland, but I don't think I've eaten an arepa I enjoyed yet. Bistec Encebollado ($14): This was served on a sizzling plate, which was nice since few places I've been to so far serve it like this; there's a scoop of rice and a salad on the side. The beef was tender and the onions soaked up the rich and savory marinade used on the beef. I know some people will find it a wee-bit salty, but I did not find that to be the case. However, I'll leave that for others to judge. Bistec a Caballo ($14): I've had this dish before at another restaurant, and can say for sure that the tomato and onion sauce is much more flavorful here. It is quite sweet, which I am not really fond of, but I still enjoyed the steak and onions with every bite. The meat was tender, but note that some of the fattier parts may be a little chewy. It is served with rice, a salad, three large fried plantain chips, and two fried eggs. Mango Shake ($4): It's served in these cool handled mason jars. You could have it mixed with milk or water, but I recommend it with milk. It was made with real mangoes, so you can definitely taste it and the natural sweetness. I wish it was larger, though--I really liked it! Overall, I would come back. The food was good, the service was great (the owners are friendly), and I don't really have any complaints. I noticed a lot of people coming here for coffee, so I might opt for some next time I stop by.

As good as Latin food gets!! If your feeling adventurous you MUST test the limits of your stomach and order the House special (steak, egg, pork, rice, beans, plantain, sausage, corn cake!!).. Get ready for a big smile on your face, unbuttoning those jeans to make room, and the pending food coma afterward! Latin food bliss!!

This is decent comfort food- made by a family owned business. Our waitress was very polite and they were open on the Memorial day even though no one was in the restaurant except us. However when the waitress asked Is what we wanted to drink and we said "water" she then proceeded to give us bottled Poland Spring water with straws and charge is for it. If she was unsure what kind of water she should have asked us to specify if we want to tap water rather than immediately charge us extra. That was a bit annoying. I tried their beef empanadas and while they were a bit on the small side, they were fantastic. I agree with the other reviews that they contain more potatoes than actual beef, but they were still really good. Especially with the hot sauce they gave us-it was more sour than spicy but it had the perfect amount of the city easy to break up the meal. Also had the bandeja paisa which had excellent chorizo and plantains and pork belly. Those were definitely the star of the meal whereas everything else was average and nothing to rave about. Again, the hot sauce tasted good with everything and it is such a big portion that it could probably feed three people so I thought it was decent price- wise.

Excellent customer service! Food was great and fairly priced. They also practiced social distancing which is so important. Recommending this place!

10/10 - Truly the best Colombian food around!…read more Sabor de Mi Tierra is absolutely top notch. We've been coming here since the pandemic -- they opened just a week before lockdown, and we supported them with takeout back then. Once we were able to dine in, we've been coming back nonstop ever since. The food is incredible, hands down the best Colombian food in the area (and honestly much better than Noches -- less salty, more flavorful, and always consistent). Everything is on point whether you come for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. My go-to is the carne asada con arepa y queso, and my wife always gets the huevos rancheros. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The service is just as amazing as the food. Every single server is kind, welcoming, and so sweet. Our favorites are Liliana and Jennifer -- total sweethearts. The owner, Carlos, is wonderful too. Every time we walk in, we feel like family. If you're in the area, you have to stop by Sabor de Mi Tierra. Incredible food, incredible people -- highly recommend!

The atmosphere was welcoming and lively. I was greeted promptly by a friendly young lady at the front and she suggested that I try the beef empanadas. They only cost a few dollars so I went ahead and bought two. So as I walked to the car, which was conveniently parked in the lot behind the restaurant, I immediately unwrapped my empanada. At first, I thought it was going to be like other empanadas that I've tried which have a crispy shell however these empanadas are similar in a way, but are very different in texture. These empanadas are a bit softer on the outside and have a denser inside filling which include potatoes and beef and it was quite delicious. I thought I could eat both of them, but after one I was full. I will definitely be back to the restaurant since I'm always in that area and it's literally five minutes from where I live. I can't wait to try other items on their menu.

We ordered two margaritas during happy hour (Monday-Thursday, 11 AM-5 PM) and they were solid, especially at 50% off. The bartender was clearly juggling a lot but still managed to keep the drinks coming and the service pleasant. Unfortunately, the food didn't match the start. After waiting about 30 minutes for our bandeja paisa and already feeling pretty hungry, we ordered beef and chicken empanadas to hold us over. They were flavorful and came out fairly quickly. When our entrées finally arrived, both steaks were cold and overcooked despite requesting medium. The chicharrón lacked seasoning, the rice was cold, and the beans were underwhelming. Overall, the service at the bar was fine, but the long wait and disappointing entrées took away from the experience. At $28 per dish, I expected better quality and temperature. While the discounted cocktails were a plus, the food simply did not justify the price and we probably won't be coming back even though we live nearby.

Mana is a nice space with a huge mural painted on one wall with several tables spread out in the restaurant with a comfortable distance between them. To the right is the counter where you order and pay. The restaurant is clean and welcoming and I would have been happy to dine in had I not been running errands. The food is mostly laid out on a steam table behind the counter. I saw different kinds of chicken, pernil, potato salad, green salad, empenadas and more. I wound up ordering yellow rice with black beans and a baked chicken leg. I also ordered a side of Maduros and a chicken empanada. Here's how I found everything (keeping in mind I took it home to reheat before I ate it): Chicken Empanada Unlike most empanadas I get nowadays, this one seemed to have been fried, with a crispy, yellow outer shell. The crunch was fantastic and I really liked the flavor. The chicken inside was super tasty and I immediately wished I had ordered another of these. Maduros I LOVE a good plantain but they are surprisingly hard to find. I would say if I go to five restaurants with them perhaps only two will have really good ones. Maduros should have a nice chewiness, maybe even a bit of caramelization on the outside with a wonderfully sweet flavor. I am happy to report that Mana has exactly this and it was great! Chicken & Rice with Beans The rice with beans were good and had some veggies mixed in. I've had better and I've had worse, so this falls straight in "B" territory. The chicken was the same - tasty, well cooked, moist but the flavor was average. Flavor-wise this is a good dish (not amazing). That said, the *serving size* was tremendous and there was enough rice for me to have over two meals and for that it deserves high marks! I really enjoyed the food from Mana. Sure it's not the best ever, but it was good and priced reasonably. I'd definitely go again.
