A friend recommended this vendor for her pest control needs and chose it for pricing and the fact the business is local (big points for me). I called and spoke with a representative who was knowledgeable, friendly and proactive. I scheduled a service within 2 days of the initial call (although they were available the very next day). Gavin arrived on time and true to their word, did provide a large window of service time with a 30 minute check in prior to arrival. Gavin was kind, professional and well-spoken. He walked the property with me and asked pointed questions to help him determine the optimal course of action. After he was done, he walked me through the property again showing me what was done: where the spray was administered and where he set traps. Gavin was great at explaining how I should keep my pets away until the treatment dries and how to clean up (if needed) afterwards. The contract I signed is for a year and a discount was provided. We've been with HomeShield about two years now, through a half-dozen visits and a couple of different techs, and they've been consistently excellent - knowledgeable, appropriately sociable, fast and effective. Our initial problem was with those little black ants. After the first HomeShield visit, they were gone. Ants come back after a few months, but far less than before, and another visit (HomeShield has never tried to scrimp on service calls) clears them up again (we've also gotten much better at not leaving bits and scraps about - if nothing else, we'll pop them into the freezer untii next green-bin day). We spotted a couple of mice, HomeShield came, haven't seen the mice since. So I give HomeShield all the stars there are, and recommend them unreservedly. read more

I found HomeShield after researching and looking at reviews on Yelp and contacted them because I suspected I had rodents in the garage and attic. They sent Fernando to do an inspection and he confirmed that I had rodents. He marked up the areas that needed to be sealed up so that no more rodents could get in or out and discussed the annual contract option or a one time option of rodent exclusion and sanitization. They sent Vladimir R. to do the work of sealing the attic vents, crawl space, and roof vents. Vladimir was amazing. He was thorough and so thoughtful and addressed not only the areas that were noted during the inspection but also any additional areas he thought could be a problem later on. Vladimir also set up traps to make sure there were no more rodents in the area. Alex came out three times to check the traps and was so friendly and warm. After trapping for two weeks to ensure that there were no more rodents in the areas, Vladimir and Eric R. came out to remove the traps and do the cleaning and sanitization. They were unbelievable. They moved stuff in the garage to make sure they got in every corner and cleaned and sanitized. They went above and beyond. I can't speak highly enough of this company. From the people who respond to messages on Yelp, to answering the main phone lines, to the folks who came to inspect, seal, trap, and clean/sanitize, they were all very polite and courteous, respecting my time and home. Problem solved! No more ants after one visit I had a serious ant problem at my home in the Great Park area. I tried everything - ant bait, ant spray around the outside of the house - nothing worked. The worst part was they would swarm my dog's food bowl if I left anything there. Called HomeShield and they gave me a great price. My service rep was incredibly professional and accommodating. We have been using HomeShield for a little over a year now. When we bought our home, unfortunately, it came with German roaches and a less than effective plan to get rid of them. After a lot of back and forth with the vendor the seller paid for, who eventually just stopped answering my calls, I decided to give HomeShield a try. They got rid of the roaches within about a month, and came back every time I said I saw one. The other guy kept telling me I had to wait weeks in between sprays, but HomeShield sticks to their guarantee. The pricing is reasonable and we feel it's worth it to continue the bi-monthly service. I love that they clean the spiderwebs around the outside of the house and along the perimeter. Communication : 5 stars! Quality of service.. not so much. The prices are competitive but when they came to check on the termites I had they suggested a spot treatment. The person who came out to suggest this was no longer with the company when I had to call them back out 8 months later. They suggested heat treatment, and spot treatment. When I looked at the numbers doing 2 spot treatments would cost more than fumigation which would eliminate ALL pests in the house. I would think we would never want to do spot treatment again if they did just 8 months ago and it's still there. Heat treatment(only garage) also was more than fumigation(the whole house) They were all very professional but the lack of attention to detail, when 4 other termite companies were able to see is glaring. I had a consultation with Elvin W. today in regard to rodent treatment services in the attic and around my home. Elvin was very professional and kind. He did a very thorough inspection and checked on my roof, in the attic, under my house, and around the perimeter for any openings and cracks. He also checked in and around my water heater, as well. After his inspection he went over everything I needed to know about my current status, showed me the pictures of the areas needing to be addressed, and what I need to do to resolve my issue. He broke everything down and made it easy to follow and all of my questions were answered and the price was very reasonable. I really like how the treatments are Organic and they are very careful to not get anything on your plants and vegetables in the garden. And I really am excited to get my attic cleaned and new TAP Insulation installed. Elvin explained how the TAP insulation is fire resistant and helps avoid termites in the attic. And they clean and disinfect the attic which will be such a relief for me. I am very concerned with keeping my house clean and fresh and I don't want to have any negative health concerns with the old insulation and small droppings from the mice. Getting this completed with Home Shield is definitely giving me a huge relief for me and my family. I am excited to continue working with Home Shield Pest Control on all my pesky pest management services. I've had homeshield for almost a year now. I initially hired them for a rat problem and kept them for their bug service. Every other month Bradley shows up and does a thorough spraying outside my property along with knocking down any spider webs. He then sprays inside with a pet friendly spray that doesn't have any smell. Before homeshield our patio was completely infested with black and brown widows. Since Bradley has been coming here the widow population is pretty much zero. I rarely see any spiders in the house and the cricket population has completely disappeared. We still get the occasional ant and other types of spiders outside but the great thing about Homeshield is I let them know and they come back as soon as possible to spray again without any charge. I've been happy with the service and Bradley has been great to work with. I'll definitely be continuing once my year contract is up in a month or so. read more
