I had to update my review for this place, which was already a good review but my last time here the person who took my order was excellent. I told them i wanted to host a small group of about 6 to 8ppl I placed my orders for the boils and was just going to get one extra app then the girl said "no worries appetizers on the house" I was like ok cool. She said she would give me 1 order fried fried 1 order of fried calamari and 2 of garlic bread. I was very grateful. Paid and went to wait in my car so i would get a ticket She brought my order to the car and told me she added more appetizers and added fries. She said "we we take care of you you come to us for parties next time" and gave me 2 big bags one w what i paid and one w all my free apps. When i got home i was so pleased. I've been to quite a few seafood boil restaurants and I wanted to add this one to my list. The restaurant has cute decor....lighted fish nets in the ceiling, graffiti writing on the walls, it has a good amount of space and you're able to social distance. The staff wears masks and gloves which is a good thing. My girlfriend and I started off with appetizers, I had the fried oysters with fries, she had the spinach and artichoke dip with nachos. The oysters were good, the fries were DELICIOUS. The best part was that neither was overly greasy. My friend said her dip and nachos were good. We each had two glasses of sangria and they were pretty good as well. Now onto the main part.......I ordered the crab legs with shrimp (head on) combo with garlic sauce. My girlfriend ordered the king crab legs with shrimp garlic butter sauce as well. Your food comes in a bag with two pieces of corn. We didn't have to wait too long for our food to come and it was cooked well but I have to say that the sauce left much to be desired. I ALWAYS get the garlic butter sauce when I order these boils and most times you can taste the sauce after you've cracked open your crabs or eating the corn. Anyway, ordered drink - a water, cranberry juice and of course I had the pineapple margarita. We walked in about 4:30pm on a sunday evening. There was no wait time and we was seated immediately. The waitress was very pleasant but she took kind of long to attend to us . We didn't mind since It's Sunday . She ordered ordered the mah thai, & I Long Island ice tea ( cocktails were 5 dollars for happy hour!) the drinks were very good . I could definitely one back for that . The food took kind of long to come out but when it did it was fresh and good . Randomly came here with some friends n family The service is so good, we got seated for a party of 8 very fast ( the restaurant was kinda empty lol ) They give you a glove and a bib to tie around your neck. I was in White Plains looking for a place to grab a quick drink and we decided to go into Holy Crab. We ordered the Sangria and the fried shrimp basket with cajun fries. The Sangria wasn't bad, it wasn't too sweet and it actually had a nice mellow taste. Since this is a seafood restaurant I was expecting the shrimp to be fresh but it taste like it was frozen and it probably was frozen. It reminded me of the shrimp that you get at Popeyes. The fries were suppose to be cajun but it lacked flavor. It taste like fries cooked well done. I know this place is known for their seafood boils but I didn't get a chance to order any of them - maybe next time. First time here on a Sunday evening and I am very satisfied with my meal and experience. When entering it was open and inviting. The tables and floors were clean and it smelled delicious. I ordered clam chowder and a boil combo with snow crabs and shrimp (head off $1 up charge). The sauce I had was garlic and spicy, it was a bit salty and very saucy but I still recommend it. There was a group of 3 of us and we were all happy with our food. We did notice that the tip was included on our bill and we didn't have a large party. So check your bill when you're ready to pay. Update: To be honest shortly after leaving the restaurant and leaving my review today, my stomach started to feel upset on my drive home. I've noticed previous posts had the same issue. This place is awesome. My friend took me to this place for my birthday in November. I had tried them a couple of years ago but wasn't impressed. This time, however, I was more than impressed with the quality and taste of the food. I ordered the coconut shrimp and it was absolutely delicious and the best I have had! Then I ordered a white sangria. Again, it was fruity and so delicious. For my entree I ordered the crab and lobster bill Cajun boil and it was off the chain good. I couldn't eat it all so I took the leftovers home and was able to eat off of them for two additional days. When Holy Crab popped up on my 'Hot New Business' feed a few months back, I was mentally pumped! In general, Holy is in a class by itself in Downtown White Plains, heck- probably the first in Westchester County. What The Boil does, (in the LES) is nice- and what's even better, is to see that same idea, up in these neck of the woods. Open since January (2017), Holy Crab greets you with several high stools and tables in the Bar area and an odd mix of sea life and 'modern' decor. It has a decent seafood mix- typical of most boils and continues with basic combinations: Lobster with Crawfish or Shrimp, Shrimp with Mussels, etc. and then you pick your sauce and heat level. Cool! Our server, Brenda was friendly throughout the evening and was on top of her game and looked out, when we needed towelettes or water. We wanted to start with Oysters, but our thought was clouded, when she told us, they had none (not a good move). We went ahead instead, with the (2) Fried Oysters- (good tasting, but for an appetizer, another two would've been the winning ticket) and the spicy and crispilicious, Fried Calamari- with tentacles and all. Don't worry about getting down and dirty---you get plastic gloves and a bib. My Lobster & Shrimp Boil, was considerable and cooked to perfection. Mr. Man's Lobster Mac (appetizer), was substantial to be eaten as an entree. FYI, Lobster Mac & Cheese is very good and creamy- this one has the Lobster chunks on top- not mixed in. I wanted to round out the evening with a 'Tropical' cocktail, but didn't pan out as it was really, really weak. Yes...I did ask for extra Lychee, but thought that the other liqueurs in it, were going to heightened the overall taste...and feel. I was ecstatic to learn there was a seafood boil restaurant in Westchester County. I couldn't wait to check it out and judge for myself. Like all lovers of seafood boils, it is all about the sauce. My friend and I arrived about 5 minutes before happy hour ended. We immediately ordered happy hour drinks and appetizers. The drinks were very strong. Too strong for my taste, but others may like that they are not watered down. I asked for a glass of juice to mix in. The bartender obliged. The appetizers were a decent amount for the price. They didn't have any Dungeness or Alaskan Crab. Had I known this was the type of establishment, to not have items that are on their menu, at the beginning of their business day, I wouldn't have bothered driving an hour, just to try them out. I didn't have any of the Stone Crab but my mom said they were okay, nothing to write home about. She had the Garlic Butter Sauce, Mild and she liked it. The Lobster & Crawfish Boil was okay. Had I not wasted money on the crawfish, which were tiny and had ABSOLUTELY ZERO MEAT, I may have enjoyed it more. I had the Cajun Sauce, Medium. It was good and made the lobster taste delicious. I recommend it. The garlic bread was also good and paired well with both boils and sauces. The Boils had 1 tiny piece of corn in them and a potato half, cut into 4 pieces. They should hold the potato half and add more corn. The corn paired well with both boils and sauces. The potato halves, like the crawfish, were a complete waste and just there to take up space. The dessert, Fried Ice Cream with Apple Fritters was okay. Again... Nothing to write home about. At the end of the day, if I never go back, I'll be perfectly okay with that. I can get a much better seafood meal and for a fraction of the cost, elsewhere. ***PARKING: There's 1 Hour Metered Parking, directly out front, until 6PM (I think.) Then it turns into, 3 Hours Metered Parking, until 9PM I believe. And after 9PM, it's free. Don't quote me on that though... I only glanced at the sign, as I drove by, to look for better options. Let's start with the pros of the restaurant . The waitress was really nice and attentive. The wings were pretty good ( hubby said it) . The drinks we ordered were good I had the pineapple margarita hubby had the French . Now for the cons the seafood was not good I was truly disappointed ! The worst 200.00 spent! Disappointed with the service. I would give them one star on service alone however that holy crab special sauce is amazingly good and the manager who greeted us was extremely hospitable and friendly. I just want to mention some of the main issues I had here. We were a party of five. My husband ordered his drink first (we arrived first) and received it fairly quickly. The rest of the drinks took FOREVER. The food came out before the drinks, that's how long they took to bring out a few lychee martinis. Secondly, they completely screwed up my husband's order. Also, when the food came out one of the cocktails spilled (Zombie $10). It was pretty full since I had just received it. We were expecting the waitress to offer to replace it or comp it but nope...Nothing. Other places immediately replace it. When we were finished eating the messy plates were not cleared until the very end when we asked for the check. FYI, the entrees come with corn and potato sides but the portions are pretty pathetic. Literally two tiny tiny pieces of a potato. We were left hungry. To top it off, they charge us for a piña colada which no one ordered and already included a 20% tip. I really thought I found a great new seafood place to try with friends. Being cautious I decided to order take out first. So I placed an order through the yelp app. When I arrived to pick up my order I observed that the restaurant didn't have many customers so being serviced was fairly easy. The staff was friendly and service was prompt. However, my experience with the food itself wasn't as good. I ordered the lobster Mac & cheese but it was bland and contained almost no cheese. Lobster chunks sat on top the dish instead of being mix within. Unfortunately I can honestly say this was some of the worst Mac & cheese that I have ever experienced. It looked as if just some cheese was sprinkled on top with the lobster but the inside consisted of plain macaroni noodles. I also tried the fried shrimp with Cajun fries. This dish was better but nothing special. More than half of my order went to the garbage can and at the prices I was charged for this food that should not happen. Inside is pretty cool, wood paneling with peoples signatures of customers all over them, along with a nautical feel. Food is ordered by the pound and you can add noodles or other options with your meal. We opted for shrimp, and crab along with corn bread and corn on the Cobb. Everything was great! Food: We ordered two pounds of shrimp, one and half pound of dungeness crab ,and one pound of snow crab legs. We got two pounds of shrimp and snow crab leg spicy with holy crab special sauce is so yummy . The other one and half pound dungeness crab we got medium and with the holy crab special sauce. Medium is personally a little to spicy for me to actually enjoy so I tend to go for mild. We also ordered couple appetizer like artichoke and spinach, crab cakes (this is is boom so good), baked stuff clam and fries with calamari and chicken. Service: The service was super friendly! Me and my father went here last night before the premiere showing of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. This restaurant had really good food and fantastic service to match it. The manager and wait staff are all fantastic and helped us out whenever we needed it. Some examples included explaining the boil pots, putting on our bibs and gloves, and getting us new tablecloths and wiping the floor when we spilled our drinks not once but twice whoops lol. The food here is delicious and more tasty than some of the other dining options White Plains has to offer. The gumbo appetizer was good with a nice flavor and good chicken and seafood while the brussell sprouts were amazing and cooked perfectly. We both ordered lobster and shrimp boil pots which con in a round container and are stuffed inside a plastic bag to keep it fresh and so the juices don't leak out. The lobster was juicy and flavorful while the shrimp was good too. While the boils do come with corn and potatoes, we had double corns and they were good as well. You really need to wear gloves in order to eat at this place lol because it is very messy and your hands get wet easily. They also provide wet naps and scissors as well both beneficial. This is a very good restaurant that's reasonably priced and will keep you stuffed for the night. The staff here are wonderful and the interior has a Joe's Crab Shack vibe to it. We spent to about $103 for 4 crab legs, a few shrimps and 4 pieces of potato.
