I don't live in Hartsdale but I'm there weekly to visit a family member. This was my first time visiting Copper Kettle Cafe, even though it's been around for a while. It's so small, I'd honestly never noticed it! The positives: Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal, three very different dishes. One person had a salad, another had the lobster roll and I had a burger. The salad was a good size; the person who had it ate about half and took the rest home. The person who had the lobster roll enjoyed it, but it's not a typical lobster roll -- so adjust your expectations if you see that on the menu and think, "Aw, I'd love a little taste of Maine right now!" it's their unique take on lobster rolls. The burger was absolutely delicious -- AND it was extremely greasy. (This is probably why it was so delicious...). That's the only feedback I'd give them -- it was super messy to eat. But again -- really yummy. The folks who work there were very kind -- we had someone who had trouble walking in our party, and they were super helpful with the doors. The food is unbelievably good. Last night I had the seasonal chopped salad and the mussels. The salad had a variety of ingredients, some unknown to me but delicious, and dressed perfectly. The mussels were the best I've had in a long while - they were large and juicy. And the sauce was wonderfully garlicky. I live in Hartsdale, and now I want to go there every night. Absolutely amazing! As a foodie this is a most visit. I have been coming here all the way from CT. It is that good. The staff is friendly shoutout to Willy who makes the best old fashioned and has the best recommendations for bourbon. Chef Joe is a culinary genius I have never had a bad meal in my 5 years of eating here! This is the perfect place to have dinner or host a private party! My top favorite dishes are braised short ribs, orecchiette pasta and the burger. Also for starters their flats and chopped salad are delish. This is one of the best restaurants in the 914 area. The fabulous Chef at this cozy restaurant prepared for me to take home a special order of Beef Wellington. It was perfectly packed to conserve its presentation. It was a generous serving of tender filet mignon with a perfect crust. The gravy was the special touch with delicious potatoes as a side. The potato gnocchi was also delicious. Copper Kettle Cafe has been sitting in my bookmarks for ages - it always seemed like a nice neighborhood spot, and a number of my Yelp friends had actually been here and left great reviews. Still, I never found my way here - that was until the other night when my parents asked if they wanted me to join them for dinner. I thought this was the perfect opportunity to finally try out CKC, so off we went. CKC sits on East Hartsdale Ave in the middle of the commercial hub of the hamlet. The restaurant isn't large - there are a few tables upon entry and some more towards the back that line one of the walls. The bar takes up a good amount of space and serves as a focal point. The aesthetics are simple but effective, I wasn't catching too much of a theme but the earth tones combined with wood finishes gave it a really comfortable aura. I decided to get a drink to start the meal off - the Tiki Tai So Fly was summery and refreshing, as was the Honey Bourbon. They menu had a good selection of mostly American fare, though a standout for me was a large selection of homemade pastas. We decided to start with a few apps - their fennel sausage flatbread, whipped ricotta dip, and eggplant "meatballs". These were all very good, with the biggest standout for me being the eggplant. I'm not too crazy about eggplant, but the way it was prepared and paired with a tasty red sauce made me a fan. For my main, the Crispy Chickie was speaking to me. This was a sandwich, with addition to the chicken itself contained slaw and a relish-like spread all between a hearty English muffin. I really enjoyed the sandwich - I feel crispy chicken sandwiches are having sort of a moment, almost to the point where they can become monotonous. CKC, however, does a good job setting theirs apart. Service was great - the staff was super friendly and all our food came out at a good pace. Overall, I was really impressed with Copper Kettle Cafe. They serve tasty food in a comfortable atmosphere. Found this GEM on Yelp, while in Hartsdale and so glad I did. Joe and his team put together an excellent goulash without mushrooms. Then they went above and beyond to put together a "SOFT" Chew dinner to go for my elderly mom. Joe also offers meals to go and I plan, as he will customize them, order some for my mom to be delivered to White Plains. Already have a neighbor interested in his program. Wow! I've lived a quarter mile away from this gem the last four and a half years, and I've finally had the pleasure. Everything, from food and service to atmosphere was spectacular. The food was delicious! There was a certain "homemade" taste to all of our courses that you simply don't get just anywhere. Really solid food. I ordered delivery a few times and was really happy with the food each time. I haven't found that many delivery places in westchester with really solid food, but this is one that I've really liked. My Favorite dishes are probably the short rib and Mac and cheese. I got dragged to this place twice. The main waiter is very unfriendly and stern, with an energy that feels almost hostile. Though he softens a bit after taking our order, the overall vibe remains tense. My friend even tried breaking the ice with some friendly conversation, but it didn't help at all. At that point I sensed a prejudice vibe. A young girl, who seemed to be in training, was helping the waiter with our order. When we asked her for some lemon, she went over to ask him. We then overheard the waiter grumble, "What do they need lemon for!" We tried not to let that bother us and finished our meal, which was pretty mediocre. After paying the check, we stood up and said, "Thank you, have a good night!" We were in close proximity to him, but the waiter didn't even turn around or respond. The restaurant was empty, and we'd spoken loud enough for him to hear--it was clear he was purposely ignoring us. We left feeling unwelcome and will never go back. read more

Yesterday, I visited for the first time and had an amazing tasting experience. It was a cute cafe with a homey vibe. Thank you Chef Joey and staff for creating this insane experience for us. For drinks, we got the Negroni and the Vermont Honey Bee. The Vermont Honey Bee was perfect for me! It was fruity and had a lavender flavor. We got the Wild Mushroom Flat Bread with mixed mushrooms, goat cheese, and truffle oil. The combination of the mushrooms and goat cheese was so good. The bread was also so good! We also had the Winter Panzanella Salad with homemade sourdough, baby arugula, radicchio, brussels, roasted carrots, blistered tomato vinaigrette, gorgonzola dolci. The salad was so good because I love brussel sprouts and the carrots were so sweet! We had the homemade gemelli pasta with slow cooked wild boar, crushed tomato, mushrooms, and parmigiano. They make all their pastas in house and that pasta was incredible. I wish I took some home! We also had the East Coast Halibut with spatzle, butternut squash, and tomato brodetto. I've never had spatzle before but it was so good with the fish! The fish was cooked perfectly. The sauce was so unique, and so delicious. Lastly for dessert we had the Individual Copper "Mud Pie" which is chocolate cake, chocolate pudding, homemade marshmallow, and vanilla sauce. I have never had a homemade marshmallow, but it was so fluffy and perfectly torched. We also had the Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta with gala apple compote. Stopped on a drive back home, Yelping this cute little place in the middle of town. The space is small but cozy, with a commendably 90s soundtrack playing in the background so you can still talk and hear your dining partners. A little after 11 on Saturday, it was very easy to snag a table for brunch. The menu had excellent options such as challah french toast and a breakfast burger (my choice). Bringing a strong appetite, I went with the prix fixe ($27), adding a polenta/poached egg/cheese appetizer (bellissimo!) and a nice cocktail (Morning Glory...bourbon and raw egg). All 3 of us enjoyed our meal and the service was exceptional in that personal and unfussy way that only smaller restaurants can have (the friendly manager welcomed our baby stroller from the get-go and kept accommodating us). Prices were about what you'd expect to pay in NYC, maybe a couple bucks cheaper. Recommended if you live in Hartsdale or passing by! read more

We dined here for a friend's birthday dinner and, well, compliments to Chef Joseph. Every single thing we had was delicious. We had a wonderful group of friends who all ordered something different so that we could taste many other dishes. We had different flatbreads, Mac and cheese, hand-cut fries, southern fried chicken, free-range chicken pot pie, crispie chicky sandwich, and filet mignon... everything was perfection. Lovely dinner experience in Hartsdale. The restaurant is located on the main drag of town near the train station and is a very small, cozy space. The interior is modernly decorated and the menu is very eclectic. We enjoyed the drinks as well, if you like handcrafted cocktails they had a nice selection in terms of vodka, tequila, bourbon, rum etc choices. The food is a bit pricey however the quality makes it reasonable. We had the clams, eggplant meatballs, lobster risotto and scallops and we really loved the food. The garlic broth for the clams was delicious! Not sure if it was the owner who waited on us but he was very attentive, and the food didn't take too long to come out considering it definitely seems made to order. I saw the chef pop out at one point and asked a table if they were pleased with the food, you can tell they care about what they're putting on the plate. I was craving a snow day worthy comfort food brunch with hubbs this winter white Saturday afternoon. Initially I wanted to take a trip East to a diner fave of mine but as I got dressed, with Rob Petrone's 2017 favourites playing in the background on the tele, I was immediately drawn to his segment at CKC and all the yummy foods. I had a good feeling about it and The Restaurant Hunter has yet to steer me wrong. The whole ride there, I Yelped them and drooled over the food pics, imagining what I would try once we arrived. I was concerned that we would have to wait for a table since the place looked small in the pictures but figured it would be worth the risk because we're likely the only crazies traveling in the snow for some food. We scored parking right in front but there is a parking structure across the street, hidden behind the store front and accessible at the corner traffic light if the spots are scarce. I'm very familiar with the area and I wondered why I've never eaten here before, especially since I had a "regular table" at the former Harry's, located across the street, down the block. Anyhoo, always time for a first, amirite? I was happy to see plenty of seating available and the gentleman who acted as server and tender of bar greeted us as we entered and directed us to an empty two top in which we nestled and got cozy, perusing the menus. They have brunch and lunch/dinner menus. I was a bit overwhelmed because I wasn't sure if I wanted to have the $27 brunch pre-fixe two course meal that comes with a brunch cocktail or if I wanted to go a la carte and have more of a variety. I decided on the a la carte lunch menu and ordered the Warm Three Cheese Dip. It was such a creamy combination of provolone, cheddar and gruyere cheese with the slightest bit sweetness from honey. The dip is served with modestly buttered toast and it was perfect. Hubby felt it was too cheesy but I loved it and ate almost the whole dish myself. For our entrées, hubby had the aptly named ABB (All Business Burger), a no nonsense, simple burger done expertly well. A juicy houseblend patty, local cheese, housemade pickles and red onion on a toasted bun. What the burger lacks in piled on ingredients, it makes up for in unadulterated great taste. My eyes lit up when I saw that their Shepherd's Pie is made with actual lamb! Most places use beef and still call it shepherd when it's actually cottage or farmer's pie. I was stoked to try it and when it arrived, I was even more intrigued by the melted pool of butter that settled atop the mash and ready to risk third degree burns to taste what laid beneath the ramekin rim. The lamb is succulent, the mash is creamy, the brussels, mushrooms and other veggies added levels of flavour that satisfied me fully on this brisk snowy day in Westchester. I loved it, if you haven't guessed by my gushing. My one disappointment was the lack in non alcohol drinks. When I asked I was told they only had soda. When I asked about juices, I was told cranberry so I settled on cranberry and seltzer. It would have been nice to have a warm tea but I learned they also have orange juice after hubbs requested a screwdriver. So, I guess there are some options in that respect. Despite the beverage limitations, I was still very happy with the experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely be making a return visit. My partner and I love trying local restaurants and cafes during the weekend so we ended up trying Copper Kettle Cafe for brunch in Hartsdale. This cafe is a local hidden gem. Our highlight was the tomato soup comforting and blended well, we would come back just for that. The service was amazing! Very attentive with our orders with trying to accommodate and provide the best experience, we really appreciated and it went a long way. We also ordered the Chicken Sandwich that had a unique pineapple cold slaw and honey drizzle, very flavorful! We ordered the Brunchy Flat which was a breakfast flatbread with eggs, bacon, and cheese--also really tasteful, flakey, crunchy, and not burnt. Let me just say, East Hartsdale really needed Copper Kettle!!! First line of defense for me, is always my favorite restaurant in White Plains. But Copper Kettle, could almost (and easily) be my next favorite restaurant- in Hartsdale. Copper Kettle has all the right shades of natural- giving off a real soft but raw look. They make use of their very small space with a nice seating layout: a high table by the window, 2-seaters, bigger sized tables and stools at the bar. Mounted metal tchotchkes and wooden signs, pulling their whole rustic look together along with a nice mix of Psychedelic Rock music- that wasn't overpowering at all but cool in the background. Even with their small style getup, their Bar area is stocked! Regular menu has everything for everyone. Cocktail menu to please anybody. Despite the humidity and hot weather, I still went for a chunky Black-Eyed Peas and Israeli Couscous Soup with veggies. Arber (misspelling apologies) was thorough detailing the evening's specials. He prepared an awesome 'Lavender Rush' cocktail for me then went ahead with Grilled Octopus, mixed with a side of Charred Romaine and Sliced Shishito peppers (a bit different, but good). My only gripe was the Octopus having a stiff end and the thicker (meatier) part of the tentacle, being chewy-almost rubbery and struggled cutting it with my table knife. But aside from that complaint, seasonings were ok. While there are other restaurants on the strip, they don't compare to Copper and their nice dash of style. Service was very polite and I appreciate Copper Kettle bringing a complete and different vibe to the Hartsdale. This is a cute spot and all the elements and details for a return, were there! Two of the 4 dishes ordered came with corn and 3 of the 4 had asparagus. More of a vegetable selection is needed for accompaniments. The din was a bit busy and the music made for a little noisy environment; exacerbated by it being a bit on the smallish side. It is only has about ten tables and the is about 20 feet wide by about 35 feet long. Adventurously, I got the burger with fries. The fries were awesome and more like wedges of potatoes, but with caramelized onions. The burger was toothsome and about 3/4 inch thick and nicely cooked. It rested on a bun that seemed homemade, in a good way. Another in the party got the French toast, it was awesome. I'd come back for it in the future. Their menu is extensive and offers all kinds of sandwiches, salads, burgers and main courses. This evening my wife and I had another fantastic dinner. I started with tomato soup with arugula and Parmesan and my wife had the Wild Mushroom Flatbread. We split their "A.B.B." ( All Business Burger), and a kale salad with pistachio nuts. Firstly, I've had this place bookmarked for ages and I finally got to try it and it did not disappoint. Went for a friends birthday tonight, few people in my party were late and they were super nice about it and accommodating. Very friendly staff, had 2 men wait on us tonight and they were both great. Food was DELICIOUS and everyone at my table was satisfied with their food and drinks. We got the burger, oriechette, and rigatoni. We even got a custom chocolate cake made for my friend which was absolutely delicious. My favorite part was that even the chef talked to us before we left and asked how we enjoyed everything. We're all in our early 20s and usually restaurant staff isn't a fan of people in our age group or younger and tend to show it. But, every single staff person we had contact with was EXTREMELY friendly and welcoming. Overall great experience, please give them your business. First time in and sure not to be the last. This is a small, eclectic restaurant smack in the middle of Hartsdale (one block west of the Metro North RR station). There are no reservations taken, and currently it is BYOB, although a liquor license has been applied for -- and they do not accept American Express. There is a small 6 seat bar centered in the dining area, and the space is light, bright and comfortable. Everything is fresh and home-made, including the sandwich breads (hallah and ciabatta) There are appetizers and small plates and sandwiches (called "Presses" - like panini but on their incredible bread). The menu is perfect for mixing, matching and sharing. And share we did, as follows: Fazio Farm Rabbit & Dumplings with Mushrooms, Baby Carrots, Snap Peas (think broth and soup - outstanding!) Homemade Pierogies potato, NY cheddar, onions (good) Eggplant "Meatballs" tomato, local vegetables (terrific) Slow Beef gruyere, scallions, gremolata We arrived and were the only table, but by the time we left every seat, including the 5-6 at the bar were full. Went here for the first time yesterday after looking for someplace new to try outdoor dining. All of the food was very good - we had the flatbread with sausage, scallops with mushroom risotto and the orchiette with lamb. Everything tasted clean, fresh, and not too heavy (but not light either). Service was attentive without being intrusive. The service was good but I noticed that on top of a very limited food selection and pricey options. They only had canned or bottled drinks besides the tap water, so if you want another after finishing your first drink(wether it be soda, seltzer, lemonade, etc.). Be prepared to pay the full price for all drinks that follow, the ambiance of the cafe is a cute, quiet, and relaxing place. Maybe to meet up with a friend who you haven't seen in a few years or having lunch with a family member that's visiting once a year. They have a little somewhat visible kitchen, so you get to kinda see the chefs cook which is cool. However if you are going with someone who is a limited or picky eater or know whoever your going with is on a special diet. I definitely recommend checking out the menu before making a decision to eat here or not. Also note some options on their website menu are different or they may not have a lot of the options ACTUALLY available that week.
