Just as expected, a hole in the wall place that was super cozy and chill vibes. Perfect place to have brunch on a snowy day. I booked my reservation for Sunday, instead of Saturday and they were still able to squeeze us in! Food came out super fast and was still super good. I loved my breakfast sandwich, the sauce was so good and they even put a hash brown in it and so it's super flavorful.

I wanted to try this spot because of the good reviews but beware because the service is bad. The waiter was not courteous. He did not ask us if we wanted anything else and just walked away. My friend had to flag him down to add an extra dish. The waiter took my friend's dish away very abruptly and didn't ask us if we wanted anything after our main dish. We did want waffles but decided it against after our experience. The dishes are mid. The burrito is okay, the sauce should have been on side because with the sauce, you have to eat it with a fork and knife. The Eggs Benedict were cooked inside, it was not liquidy. The waitresses are new because they gave us drinks that were not ours twice. The first time, they placed the drink on our table and took it away. Talk about a health code violation. The waiter didn't bother to offer us the check so we paid on the online platform via QR code which has a ~$2.00 service fee.

Came here for brunch, and I was pleasantly surprised! The space is nicely decorated, and our waitress was super friendly, she checked in on us often, which made the service feel extra attentive. It really had that hidden hole-in-the-wall charm, true to its name. There were so many options to choose from, but I went with the smash burger and a mimosa. The mimosa was served in the cutest glassware and had a perfect balance of sparkling wine and orange juice, not overly sweet, just the right touch of citrus. The smash burger absolutely hit the spot. Crispy edges, gooey American cheese, and perfectly toasted, buttery buns,it all came together so well. The fries were also amazing, super crispy like they had been double fried. Easily one of the best fries I've had in a while. I'll definitely be coming back to try more of the menu!

Came in as a party of three and the service felt a bit unorganized from start to finish. The sign says "wait to be seated," but no one came over, so we walked up ourselves. We were then seated right by the door, even though there were plenty of open tables inside. We all ordered burgers--great size, cooked well, but at $23 each they're definitely on the pricey side (though probably average for the neighborhood). Desserts were also on the higher end, but nothing really stood out. The brownie had solid chunks rather than being gooey or melty, which was a bit underwhelming. Overall: decent food, okay experience, but service and attention to detail could use some tightening up.

Dinner menu and vibes is but best part of my experience was our server Mira. She was super energetic and engaging throughout my whole time there but the kicker is she is from same country and same province as I. She is a great member for Hole in the wall and they're so fortunate to have her. Without saying I will be back sooner than later.

Hole In The Wall located at Williamsburg, Brooklyn on Bedford Avenue, delivers an amazing dining experience. Started off with a cappuccino. Very impressed with their coffee Followed by scrambled eggs on toast. Their Shrimp Vodka was amazingly delicious. The dish features perfectly cooked pasta, paired with succulent shrimp that packs just the right amount of taste. The sauce was rich, with a kick that lingers without overpowering the natural sweetness of the shrimp. The flavors are balanced, and every bite is a perfect blend of heat, creaminess, and savory goodness. It's a must-try for anyone visiting this cozy spot in Brooklyn! Great service and loved the ambiance.

First time here and the food was really good and the drinks were also very tasty as well. It wasn't busy around noon which is fine but the service was nice and very easy to talk with others.

Great place for brunch or happy hour! I've had the espresso martinis here for HH and they are great. I've also gotten the kimchi scramble for brunch and it was great. Relatively easy to drop in for a table but doesn't hurt to make a res!

Came here for brunch on a Sunday around 1 without reservation. The wait was 45 mins but it ended up only being 15 mins. My hibiscus drink was beyond delicious. It wasn't too sweet and had the perfect amount of alcohol. The Bee Knees was just ok but if you like light flavors then you may enjoy that. The Brekkie Roll was delicious as well although there was too much bread for me. Overall I would def come back here again

Stopped for brunch on a Sunday. First time here, out of towners, and so glad we found this place. Food was delicious and so was my latte. Cute & casual corner restaurant, super friendly service, and again, the food was sooooo delicious. I got the cheddar omelet, mom got the salmon toast w/avocado on the side, and my daughter got the brekkie sandwich. We shared the dulce waffles.

Four stars! Came here for happy hour and had the expresso martini for $10! Very good, not bitter at all and had a nice hint chocolate. Another happy hour deal which I thought was really good was a cocktail, wings and fries for $20! Happy hour is m-f 4-6! Reason why I'm giving 4 stars is because the expresso martini wasn't a full glass. I was missing about 2-3 oz. With that being said, I'm sure if I said something the bartender would've fixed it! Still, it shouldn't need to be asked.

Lively vibe and good service. This is a busy joint and reservations definitely recommended for weekend brunch. We love it that they use sourdough toasts and my Kimchee Scramble was really good. I also like the Nutella Mocha.

I chose this place because I had visited a few times in the past and expected a positive environment. While there, I ran into an old friend who was accompanying individuals with special needs. They informed us about the R&B karaoke event, and we attempted to participate respectfully and supportively. Unfortunately, after participating, the DJ became rude and dismissive. My friends decided not to continue because each time they attempted to request a song, the DJ was unkind and impatient, seemingly unaware--or unconcerned--that they were individuals with special needs. The situation escalated when I attempted to calmly address the disrespect. Instead of listening, the bartender repeatedly accused me of being drunk simply because I was defending myself after a rude comment. I was not intoxicated; I was advocating for respectful treatment. Even the DJ's own companion appeared visibly shocked by the comment made toward me, as if anticipating a reaction. I remained composed and professional despite being deeply upset. What disappointed me most was the staff's decision to defend the DJ's behavior rather than acknowledge how inappropriate and disrespectful the interaction was. This reflects poorly on how this establishment treats people--especially those who deserve patience, understanding, and dignity. I came expecting an enjoyable brunch experience and left feeling ashamed for having trusted this place. It is clear that the venue prioritizes protecting mediocre DJs with minimal local popularity over treating customers with basic respect. Poor organization, lack of proper event management, and unprofessional staff behavior made this experience unacceptable. I have visited many establishments and have never felt so disrespected. I will not be returning.

TL;DR version- Some high highs and some very low lows. Hot Figs was a fun app. By a mile, the soups…read morewere the favorites, so I would recommend the Pepián or Caldo Tlalpeño Rojo. Nice happy hour and a large chocolate drink selection I was at this unique Guatemalan (ish) restaurant a while back with one of my groups. I said "ish" because the menu has dishes from all over, ranging from sandwiches to BBQ ribs to Guatemalan and Mexican soups. It's out there, and even though not everything works that well, it's fun, and if you can't find something you want to order here, you probably shouldn't go out to restaurants. There was also live jazz music that night, which was loud but nice to listen to. Since it was happy hour, a bunch of us got drinks. I went with a maracuya margarita, which was decent; someone else had a jalapeño margarita, someone had a beer, and someone had a mojito. There were a few nice hot sauces on the table, with the red one reminding me of salsa macha as it had a smoky kick and a spicier green sauce reminiscent of ají verde. They gave us some complimentary blue corn chips and a very mild black bean dip, which was tasty enough and hard to complain about, as it was free. From the appetizers, we got the Hot Figs for $15.95, consisting of honey goat cheese, corn tortilla chips, and plum + pumpkin seeds. This was a unique and fun blend and reminded me more of something you would find in a wine bar. The mix of sweet and salty, with a bit of crunch from the seeds, was nice. This was good, and I would recommend it for a table rather than for a solo diner. There was also The Zingy Salad for $21.95, featuring zucchini spirals, yuzu, tomato, onion, cilantro, pumpkin seeds, and a jalapeño infusion. $18.95. The salad was fine with a bit of crunch and a mild spiciness. It was fine, though a bit wet, for lack of a better word. The best dishes of the night were the soups, which each had its own distinct flavor profile. My sight presence went to the Pepián for $21.95, consisting of chicken, pumpkin/sesame seeds, green tomatillo, cinnamon, cumin, black pepper, carrots, chili coban/pasta/guaque, and potato + rice. There was plenty of tender chicken inside, with the soup having a nice roasted flavor with some spice and a bit of sourness. The potatoes and rice on the bottom added more sustenance to this dish. Almost equally delicious was the Caldo Tlalpeño Rojo for a dollar more with shredded chicken, tomato, black pepper, garlic, onions, peas, chickpeas, corn, achiote, chipotle, Monterey jack cheese, and crunchy blue corn tortilla chips. By comparison, this was a bit heartier, with the melted cheese and shredded tortilla chips inside, similar to soups found in Mexican cuisine. While I also liked the mix of veggies a bit more in this one, as it added a bit more texture, I still slightly preferred the flavor of the other soup, as I usually prefer a bit more spice. The rest of the food was fine. The TPC sandwich for $19.95 with chicken, peanut butter, coconut cream, ginger, cilantro, pickled carrots, and lime was fine. For the number of ingredients, I found it a bit sweet, likely from the cream and the peanut butter mix. The bread was nice, but it also fell apart. It came with a nice side salad with a good vinaigrette. The most expensive at $24.95 were the Slow Cooked BBQ Ribs, consisting of baby back ribs with rice and beans. The ribs were almost a bit too tender as they lacked any bite, which was nice, but the sauce was a bit too generic tasting, reminding me of Sweet Baby Ray's or something similar. The rice and beans were standard. This was also OK. Next came some dessert. There was first the $12.95 Rosemary Churros served with dulce de leche & chocolate dips. While I'm not sure if it worked, the rosemary did add a unique smell and a bit of flavor, and at least it wasn't generic. The churros themselves were hot, and the sauces were standard, with my preference being the dulce de leche. I also ordered a Champurrado for $7.95, which was fine. It wasn't as thick as I expected, though perhaps the style is a bit different than the champurrados I rarely buy from Mexican street carts. The chocolate flavor was very nice, though, and I like that it wasn't too sweet. Another person got a $4 Alfajor, which I got a bite of, which was standard. This place is a bit hard to rate. The two soups were wonderful, I liked the appetizers, and I found a couple of the other dishes just OK. Overall, it was a good meal, but I'm not craving to go back. This would be the perfect 3.5, but I'll round up as that doesn't exist.
