Hidden gem! On a Saturday night around 7, my boyfriend and I wandered into this restaurant with pretty low expectations... We were seated right away in about a half full dining area, in front of the bar where there were several tvs with various sports games on. The menu included many classic Chinese dishes, but also some Thai and lots of sushi! We had edamame, some salt and pepper shrimp, then a couple of sushi rolls. I was a little skeptical at first, but pleasantly surprised with the first bite. Everything tasted fresh and the crazy summer roll was delish! They just delivered my food 30 ish minutes late, on top of it being late they forgot my chicken fingers. I call in to ask about the chicken fingers they basically called me a liar and kept asking me if they are in the bag, i keep looking in a empty bag to see if they will magically appear (they don't). After i keep telling them they are missing they hang up on me a total of 5 times i called back in to be hung up on, just called in the last time and they said they sent my chicken fingers with no estimated time of delivery and hangs up the phone. So now i wait with no idea when or if my chicken fingers will make it to my house. Will not order from these people again. read more

My new stop off after landing at Logan. Seems like there are new owners. Stopped in for a beer and some take out on my way out of Logan. The place was clean and my food was still very hot after a 40 minute drive home (i.e. non steam table food). The food was cooked fresh and used fresh ingredients. read more

I came here the first time when they remodeled it and the food stayed the same. But this time around the food was so good, the rice is impeccable it has gotten so good this time around. The dinner plates are really good and priced real well. You can finish the plate and being full but not overly full at all. Only downside is the chicken fingers still very greasy at every bite. Ho win used to be my favorite place to go to for Chinese food until last Friday. I will never spend another dollar there. On Friday I went out to dinner with my best friend we sat at the bar and immediately we were approached by a family really nice people we started talking laughing having a good time. We ordered drinks and food and when The family left the bartender came up to us and said " my manager told me that you guys have to leave you guys are too loud". Mind you it's Friday night 10:30pm everyone is having a grand ol time and we are asked to leave. Not once were we asked to keep it down we were just told to leave. Food had just came out and our glasses were still full. I told the bartender we hadn't even touched our food and she said you guys just have to leave so I asked for a box when I should have just walked out. Boxed my food and passed my debit card then she gives me the receipt and starts rushing me to sign and give it her. At this point I had had enough and I told her I paid you the card went through and I am finishing my drink I will sign the receipt when I'm done. She kept rushing me for the receipt. (Eyeroll) now I'm getting mad because now i feel like I'm being racially profiled. So I said to her I am not leaving you a tip so I don't know why you are rushing me for this receipt. Never did the manager come to us to say anything he sent the bartender to deal with it how unprofessional! We weren't being loud disrespectful r anything like that if anything we were friendly with the people that approached us and everyone at the bar. I have been going to this place about once a month since my last review. The food continues to be good and the lunch special is a very good deal. The menu made the Special Shredded Beef sound totally amazing but the dish was a disaster. There was no spice whatsoever, the beef was chewy with a metallic taste and the whole shebang was cooked in that disgusting, gelatinous brown sauce which seems to be offered by only the most dreadful Chinese takeout places. I couldn't bring myself to finish it which was upsetting because the portion was huge and I hate to waste food. I awarded one star for the scallion pancakes which are the best I've ever had outside of Chinatown - absolutely heavenly. Whenever I come back to MA to visit my family a trip to Ho Win's is always necessary. Sonny is the best bartender and hands down makes the best mai tai. Everything I've ordered has always been great and the chicken wings are incredible. As an added bonus Sonny and everyone has always been accommodating with my boyfriend who has celiac and has always helped him find stuff on the menu he can eat (their white sauce is perfect for him and is delicious!) We've been getting to know Sonny over the years which has only made our experience here even better. Best chicken with broccoli we've ever had. We ordered roasted pork fried rice, chicken with broccoli and crab ragoons and everything was delicious. Believe me, I order chicken with broccoli in every chinese food place I go to. It's been my favorite chinese dish since I was 10 yrs old (I'm now 24) so believe me when I say that it's been the best one I've tasted. It wasn't salty or oily. It had a great garlic and nutty flavor. The crab ragoons were crispy and had a decent amount of filling, not oily at all. The fried rice tasted like any other fried rice but it wasn't too salty or oily. The amount of food was great. It was enough to feed my husband, our two toddlers and me. Our food was literally on our table in less than 10 minutes. I guess it was because we went at 11pm on a Friday. Also our server was very kind. This is our new favorite Chinese place. read more

The portions are quite generous, and the amount of food you get for the reasonable price is certainly a plus. I walked in there tonight looking to get some food. Never been there. I was really looking forward to it. Once I arrive the person at the front was being really rude. Didn't even greet my aunt and I. Common courtesy. Overall I was bothered by the mans attitude. As I was ordering he got a phone call and totally ignored us. The food that we ordered from Ho Win Palace was average. We ordered take out and got: sweet and sour chicken, orange chicken, fried rice, and noodles. The orange chicken was good and the fried rice was average. The sauce for the sweet and sour was very sweet, but the noodles were very good. Overall, service was excellent and fast. The best part of the entire experience with Ho Win was the delivery man. He was very nice. The meal delivered was awful and I expected better based on the reviews and advise from others. We ordered a PuPu for 1, Beef Chop Suey, their menu said an old time favorite and was anything but, and Pork Egg Foo Young. The chop suey had big chewy chunks of gray beef and hard crunchy vegetables including carrots! The egg foo young was tasteless as was the accompanied gravy. Any of the appetizers in the PuPu that were fried were over fried and hard. All of this for $33 and very much not worth it as all portions were small and tasteless. Me and the family ended up at Ho Win Palace in Everett. My mom wanted to go to Kowloon but I was not feeling like traveling there on the T...so not convenient. We ordered a PuPu Platter, lobster sauce, egg fu yung, pork fried rice, and crab rangoons. All of the food was fresh and served piping hot. My only complaint was the crab rangoon filling was too liquidy. There was no texture whatsoever.....just smooth liquidy cream that tasted bland as heck. Loved the chicken fingers and lobster sauce the best. I would go here more often if it was not so chilly these days. i will be back though. BTW the decorum leaves A LOT to be desired....lol. Honestly I love his place ! I ordered from here few times before! And all the times nothing went wrong. Fast delivery, food still good and hot. Nice delivery guys too. Another bonus is that they open til 2 AM! In case I'm hungry and craving late night dinner...I count on this place. I also went to dine in. Food was even BETTER! It's definitely worth the try! My family and I ordered Chinese food on Christmas day and we spent $58 in hopes of getting enough food for 8 of us. The woman that took the order failed to tell us that there is only one size to the items we ordered. We specifically asked for the largest portion that they had so there was enough food for everyone. When we have the food delivered found out that it's enough to feed two people not eight people. We called the manager who was not only incompetent and rude but a pain in the ass. He refused to take back the food even though we've never touched it and he said that if we return it, they throw it out and they would not give us a refund of our money. The owner of this establishment obviously does not know how to run a business because why on earth would you hire people who don't speak English to take food orders. There are many other Chinese restaurants nearby that are much better than this place I would not refer this place even to my worst enemy. Food is overpriced and taste lousy. read more

I didn't have high hopes, but I was still disappointed. I sampled the spare ribs and scallion pancakes for apps and the Kung Pow Beef and Shrimp Chow Mein for main courses. The apps were passable, but the main dishes were just bland and didn't even taste like chinese food. They are open until 2AM on the weekend and they have a bar, so if it's late and you're drunk, you might want to consider eating there, but there are just so many better mediocre chinese restaruants in the area, you'd do better somewhere else. read more

A VERY rowdy group kept yelling and throwing shit at each other. A couple from the group we can only suspect went in to the woman's room for a quickie. Cause they ran in and locked the door.
