The seared tuna salad came drenched in a sauce that genuinely tasted like pizza. Not awful but extremely odd and off-putting. The seahawks roll was incredibly bland and consisted of very little fish. Lastly the lollipop roll. This roll tasted the freshest. Overall a decent dish. The service was another story. Our servers were very nice and 3 or 4 different people checked up on us frequently. It's a shame the quality of the food could not match the rest of the experience. We don't see ourselves coming back here, but if we were, we would stick to the raw dishes as it seems they are the best. read more

Across the board - food, price, service - an amazing gem of a place. We changed plans last minute and decided to give this place a shot. So glad we did! We started with the salmon jaw, and while it was a touch over seared, the inside was still perfectly cooked. This was followed by a Chirashi and their Fancy Salmon roll, then a simple salmon and cucumber and their Ho's Hako rolls. The hako roll was a delightful cloud of pillowy sushi goodness, the fancy salmon roll was delicious, the chirashi was amazingly fresh. The one that stood out to me most was the simple salmon cucumber roll. To have such a common and almost overdone roll stand out for its perfect proportions and fresh flavor is a huge accomplishment. Wow. The reviews were spot on. Ordered some nigiri, a couple rolls and some apps for an early afternoon snack and it was delivered earlier than the estimated time. Included were a miso soup and a side salad which was extremely appreciated as it was unexpected. The nigiri fish in the assorted combo were salmon, tuna, albacore, and super white. So, I don't get it. A little common sense would have been nice! It was literally 2-3 steps to the table, but we were turned away for not wearing a mask. Yet, once we would have been seated, you can take off your mask and we all breathe the same air circulating inside. After a few years of going to this restaurant, I'm still just as thrilled with their food as I was since my first review. I'm updating the original because I have had a number of their dishes, and wanted to share/recommend a few of my favorites. For an appetizer, I will order either the Pork Gyoza or Edamame. The gyoza is hot, fresh and has a delicate flavor. The edamame is equally fresh, served warm and plentiful. When ordering sushi, I typically choose the American Dream Roll (mango, shrimp tempura, lobster), or the Crispy Fantasy Roll (lobster salad, shrimp, eel, crab, cream cheese); both of which are flavorful, and filling. The rolls are VERY well made. It is a pet peeve of mine to be eating a roll and have it fall apart, which has never happened at Ho; the rolls are always well pressed, tight and clean. My absolute favorite menu item however, is the Pork Loin Chashu Ramen, specifically with the Shoyu broth. It never gets old, I could easily eat it three times a day. The egg is hard boiled, and with the yolk mixing in to the broth, it creates a creamy, light flavor that is truly delightful! My husband, who spent a few years in Japan (Nishi Tachikawa) when he was a boy, said that Ho's food is as close as he has ever had to the food he ate when he was there. Personally, I will continue to eat at Ho Sushi for as long as it is open, as much as I reasonably can; and will recommend it to anyone that will listen! Try it, you won't be sorry you did. read more

I have been coming here for months with my girlfriend, and pretty much could call ourselves regulars to the point where the staff knows what we usually order and who we are since we come here a few times a week. We enjoy the food, however we can't stand the service there. Mostly, we're being served by a young lady, who's intrusive, and annoying as hell, she does not have an understanding of where the border line is for being too much. However, the older lady is great. It got to the point where we stopped coming in just because of the young lady who mostly serves us, and started doing take outs. Okay, before I get started on my review let me make it clear this is not based on the food what so ever, and because of our first impression experience we will probably never try it. Probably our loss, but we know many other good places for sushi that we'd rather give our patronage and recommendation to...and so starts my review: Using the Yelp app on my iPad I saw that they now are able to show businesses that offer take out and/or delivery....Delivery! Finally something other than pizza and Chinese delivery. So I pop in my zip code and BOOM! this and that, that and this, Chinese, Sushi, Teriyaki, Thai, Indian, Pizza...all offer delivery to my zip code! I was amazed. So I look up Ho Sushi Bistro who's website mentions offering delivery to three zip codes, one being ours. Their only mention is no delivery to Mill Creek for some reason...oh well, our zip code isn't Mill Creek. Again, very excited at this since we love sushi and enjoy home delivery and up to this point we've only enjoyed pizza and Chinese. We take the time to go over the online menu, which looked good, not to mention a good Yelp rating. So my wife and I start clicking this and that for a much anticipated dinner. We go through the process, enter our address, then pay via credit card...all accepted and ready to go. Now the wait....well it wasn't very long until we get a phone call from Ho Sushi Bistro. We figure that they were calling to confirm the order. HA! not even close. They called to say that they don't deliver to our area..."But it's in within the zip code" we say. "We only deliver within three miles of the restaurant" they say (But no mention of that at all on their website but may change after this review). "Then cancel our order" we say...and that was that. And BTW our address was only 4.0 miles from their site, so 1.0 mile outside of their delivery radius zone. Anyhoo, minus one star for advertising delivery to a particular area but then not really. Minus one star for not specifying the 3 mile delivery radius on the website...Minus one star for lack of customer service and not over looking one mile?! Seriously?! and finally minus one star for the inconvenience and waste of time we took to go over their menu and ordering only to be denied. They get one star from me because Yelp won't allow no stars ratings. Maybe had we dined in w/o knowing about delivery the review might've been different, but we decided for delivery because it was an option pointed out by Yelp and the restaurant and when they advertise one thing and do the exact opposite, that is just horrible customer service. read more

I had ordered from this restaurant before, but it was always takeout. Today, on a whim, I decided to eat there. Ordered some Uni, seared tuna salad, the Seahawk roll, and the Dragon roll. The Uni and the rolls were good. I would definitely order those rolls again. I plan to try others in the near future. I do not plan on ordering the seared tuna salad again. It looked nothing like the picture in the menu. The menu had me believe that the tuna would be lightly seared, and have a thin encrusted outer layer. That was not the case. Pretty bar to watch the chef masterfully craft tasty rolls. Presentation was precise and tempting. The service was on point; available and congenial. And then, of course, the quality of the food elevated the experience! Ordered "da bomb" which was especially deep with layers of flavor. The spicy tuna, favored standby, rivaled any in the area, and the rainbow roll had velvety fish that literally melted in my mouth. We had little conversation because it was so yummy! Inattentive and inexperienced waitstaff. Lemongrass prawns - these were not prawns, probably 25/30 sized shrimp tossed in sweet chili sauce. Overcooked and not tasty. Do not order this. Mango kani salad - shredded imitation crab meat stick tossed with mango strips In a light mayo dressing. Bleh. Do not order. Spider roll - typical spider roll, but not well rolled. It broke apart and did not hold up well. Veggie roll - nothing spectacular and very underwhelming. The pickled veg ruined the taste. Hamachi Kama - my fave dish to order at any Japanese restaurant. Luckily they did not ruin this dish. Broiled well. Chicken yaki udon - typical udon stir fried noodles with chicken. Took very long for this dish to come out even though I specifically asked for this to be prepared and sent out first for my son's meal. Shoyu ramen - the saving grace of the meal, which took so long to come out. Flavorful broth and noodles had nice chew. Overall, I would probably never come back here. They have such good reviews and the rating is pretty high which makes me wonder if we came on an off night. They did offer us a $5 gift card for the not so great dining experience. However, do you want to go eating good sushi, right taste, or just a so-so sushi? If I pay $5 for a plate of sushi, that's fine. But their prices weren't that cheap. It's a high-end price not worth it. If Chinese people makes the sushi, not original taste as Japanese or Korea sushi, will you willing to pay for $10+ per order? I wouldn't. There are not many good sushi spots in the north end, and none that are exceptionally good. Welcome Ho Sushi Bistro, finally a sushi spot in the north end that I want to go to and recommend to people! Ambience is good; modern, and clean. They accommodate large parties of people and you don't feel like you're sitting on top of other people. The staff is welcoming and attentive. Fish is fresh and the portions are generous. Presentation is excellent. I think because they work on making every detail wonderful that it adds to the wait time of your food, but TRUST ME it is worth the wait. It tastes good AND it looks good! They have unique dishes to try such as the sushi sandwich :) And they offer so many rolls that you will end up over ordering because everything sounds so good. So, I've reviewed this restaurant in the past and it used to be decent and the customer service was top notch, not the case anymore. My husband and I live about a two blocks away, but sometimes I just want delivery and I'm too tired for social interaction after work. We order from here about once a week. Tonight, I came home and felt like poo so we logged in online and placed our normal order (Steak bento box, and two orders of sashimi). Normally we get the third avenue roll as well, but tonight I wasn't feeling it. We paid for our order and forty five minutes later it arrived. Except it didn't. My sashimi was missing, and at $2 a slice, I was understandably upset. On top of that, the fish that was added wasn't what we had ordered. No big deal, I thought, we will call and they will fix it. My fiance' calls them and she tells us she is going to charge us not only for the sashimi THAT WE HAD PAID FOR, but AGAIN for the delivery. My fiance' said that wasn't okay. And she explained that she didn't charge us for the second order of sashimi. But they had charged us for some weird sushi thing. He politely asked her about half a dozen times to please fix the order, they could have the fish back, and we just wanted what we had ordered online. He also mentioned that we order from them at least once a week (at about $40 per order). She kept saying she was going to charge us, etc. At this point, I was getting quite pissed off. Why should we have to pay (AGAIN) for them to fix their screw up? I asked to speak to her, and she HUNG UP ON ME. He called back, and she hung up on him when he asked to speak to the owner. My husband finally decided to walk over there to fix the issue. We never have any problems when we go into the place, but apparently, if you order out from them (to the tune of $2 every .5 mile or less), they don't think you're worth it and decide to treat you like crap. If delivery is too much for a place to handle on a Wednesday evening, and they can't treat their regular customers with respect, I am not spending my money here again. read more

After three trips in six days, it's about time I took a moment to share Everett's best new sushi secret restaurant before I return tomorrow for my fourth visit!!! If fresh, delicious and succulent sushi created by talented sushi chefs served by the friendliest staff is what you crave, I guarantee Ho Sushi Bistro will satisfy and leave you planning to come back for more! My fiance and I continue to review their expansive menu of classic sushi and special rolls before each delightful experience and have yet to be disappointed. We have tried something different each trip while also ordering some already favorites that include: - The salmon skin salad felt like dining on "salmon candy" as it was charred to perfection and each bite was savory sweet! - Calamari should be a dish every restaurant can easily serve but at Ho's it has been perfected with a light coat of breading for a crisp crunch while allowing the light flavor of the squid to come through without tasting like it's been bathed in oil. - Being an avid 12th Fan, we had to order the Seahawks roll. For a roll that was deep fried, it was full of flavor from the tuna, salmon and yellowtail and did not sit heavy in our bellies so we could cheer louder: SEA!!! HAWKS!!! - Their signature roll, the Ho's Hako Sushi is a must try whether it's your first outing for sushi or 100th time! The combination of spicy tuna and avocado topped with tuna, salmon and white tuna drizzled with a combination of spicy mayo and eel sauce will leave your taste buds in sushi heaven!!! (pardon me while I wipe away the drool) This could win the freshest roll of the year award if the Academy categorized it as such! - The Godzilla roll is properly named with it's massive flavor of spicy tuna and spicy salmon with spicy mayo. I would not recommend taking on Godzilla himself but tackle this sushi roll with joy! There are many more rolls that look and sound amazing, so we will try them one by one on each successive trip which will include: Crispy Fantasy Roll, Third Avenue Roll and Sushi Sandwich. I had also been advised to try their Chirashi bowl so I must! We have been greeted by Hannah with a smile each time and she even knew me by name when I called in an order to go! The restaurant is just weeks opened and it is very clean, quiet and has an intimate environment feel with the decor. To top off their grand opening, we have received a 10% discount on each visit! What more do you need to read in a review to check this sushi joint out?! Watch out! A bald Asian guy may be spotted in a booth near you enjoying quality fresh sushi! Stopped by for dinner on a weekday, and sat at the sushi bar. The sushi looked beautiful and creative, but I facility was modern and felt clean. I ordered scallop nigiri, and to my disappointment the scallop was fishy tasting and defiantly not fresh. I then ordered the bento (thinking that it would be benign), once again the saturated gyoza was swimming in bitter sauce. The facility was disappointing and a bit scary. Just tried this place today. I checked it out as 1 it was close by and 2 had decent ratings. Things i liked: Great decor Food and drinks were fast coming out Wait staff was friendly and attentive and was great at answering my questions about a few dishes. I had two maki rolls with tea for lunch. Both were decent above average fish. I had tuna and salmon and both felt and tasted fresh. I had the two rolls and i was comfortably full after lunch. Things i had a small issue with: The sushi rolls i had have a California roll base to them. The crab center was overly creamy for me. I personally would have liked it slightly less creamy. Also wasnt sure if it was crab or krab. I should have asked. The wasabi was a little dried out and not as smooth as i would like it. Also some of the pieces of the rolls were slightly off size but these are minor food issues. Regarding the bathrooms. They were clean and smelled clean but parts looked a bit half finished /painted. Also the door was really heavily scuffed and i dont know why but that bugged me. It just kinda took away from the atmosphere for me. Overall, decent sushi and average pricing and nice place to eat.
