We happened to be in the area and decided to try HeyTea because my nephew always raves about it. We placed our order at 11:01 a.m., right after the store opened at 11, and the app estimated a 4-minute wait time. Unfortunately, we didn't receive our drinks until 11:32. I followed the app updates, which showed that 1 of 2 drinks was ready, but after waiting more than 15 minutes with no progress, I used the app to expedite the order and informed the staff. A young man assured me the second drink would be coming out shortly, but after another 10+ minutes, there was still no update, acknowledgment, or communication from the staff. I then contacted the "Get Help" feature through the app to request a refund. Instead of resolving the issue, I was only offered 50% off a future visit. After such a disappointing first experience, that response felt completely inadequate. This is boba tea, not a fine dining experience, and waiting over 30 minutes with little communication and no proper resolution is unacceptable. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this location or support this chain in the future, and I'll definitely be sharing my experience with friends and family. read more

Happened to stumble upon Hey Tea in Milpitas Square while they were still under renovations at the end of 2024. Made a mental note to check them out once they opened since their other new location in San Jose has been all the hype lately accompanied with long lines and wait time. They are still in their first week of operation and are offering promos, including the BOGO 50% off today. The shop is small and located on the inner corner next to 99 Ranch. It's very bright with a simple, clean aesthetic. I arrived right around opening so there wasn't a line. The menu is straight forward- I knew I wanted a tea drink with milk and a fruit tea, so I decided on the Cloud Matcha Latte (without the cloud) and added boba (extra $0.99) and the Mulberry Strawberry Boom with boba. My order was done within 2-3 minutes and packaged very well in a paper bag. Both drinks were so good! The matcha is nice and creamy, and the boba added some chewy texture. I wish it was a little stronger on the matcha so maybe I'll try the supreme matcha latte next time. I think I liked the Mulberry Strawberry Boom more- light sweet was perfect since it had boba and the mulberry chunks made the drink so unique. They were offering free, limited edition magnets if pictures were posted on social media. Very happy I got to try Hey Tea during their grand opening week and I know it'll be a new staple for me! read more

Came here for dessert after a Sunday dim sum early lunch with my family. I like that the Hey Tea stores always smell amazing. I had it for the first time in Asia and am happy to see them pop up now in the Bay Area. We had a huge party of 7. There is not much room inside, just a few seats and a standing area to wait for your drinks. Most of my family decided to stand outside the door to wait. We ordered at the screen and we did around 15 to 20 minutes for all of our drinks to come out. It seemed that online orders were popular. There was always a stream of people coming in and out. I imagine it must be busy like this most days. The ingredients feel fresh and the tea feels high-quality. The menu is extensive and customizable. I got the jasmine latte. It's fragrant and not too milky, which is my preference. Everyone in my group enjoyed their drinks. I've had the mulberry tea one time and it was refreshing too. read more

Just wanted to shout out the new Kale boost tea! Got it less sweet, which was recommended and it was still pretty sweet with all the fruits I assume. I docked a star because the mango boom tasted a bit off today. We might reserve mango boom for mango season. It still gets busy at 8pm on a Thursday, so I suggest ordering online on your way here, or like 15-20 min before you arrive if you don't want to wait. read more

Stopped by during lunch time and there was a LINE, are y'all prepared to use up your entire lunch hour for boba? Mango Grapefruit Bloom - This is my FAVORITE, reminds me of a mango pamelo sago drink, without the sago (close enough) Grape Bloom - I'm digging into the purple grape drinks lately and the cheese foam pairing is absolutely chefs kiss Anyways, I definitely recommend y'all stop by when you're in the area read more

Stopped by around 3pm yesterday and was shocked by how packed it was - the line wrapped around the entire store. The space itself isn't very large, and all the seating benches were full. It was so busy that they had to pause online ordering. We waited 30 minutes for 2 drinks. While we understand that popularity can lead to long waits, the crowd and delay definitely took away from the experience. If you are planning to visit, be prepared for a wait, especially during peak hours. 4 stars for the Mango Grapefruit Boom - refreshing, flavorful and absolutely worth trying! read more

Really concerning experience. While making my friend's drink, an employee accidentally got water from the sink into it. When we pointed it out, they told us the sink water was filtered, but that didn't make us feel any better. Filtered or not, sink water should not be ending up in a customer's drink, and it made us question the sanitation standards. After drinking it, my friend ended up with food poisoning. We can't say for certain what caused it, but given what happened with the drink, it definitely raised concerns about the cleanliness and food handling practices here. We won't be coming back and hope the business takes sanitation much more seriously. read more

It's on the pricier end but the experience as a whole, from the store decor to the drink itself, feels quite premium. My favorite thing is the Mango Boom! I tried the one with grapefruit added but it didn't do much for me so I'll stick to Mango Boom. It's such a fun drink with so many textures and flavors. Be prepared to wait like 20 minutes for your drink. read more

From a humble beginning in China to world renowned boba shop, HeyTea is one of the most famous boba brands. It's been in NY and LA and now it's finally here! From 0 locations less than a year ago, HeyTea is now all over the Bay - from San Jose to the City. The focus is on providing an elevated tea experience with signature premium teas and fresh fruits. HeyTea popularized cheese tea which is now a staple at many bubble tea stores. HeyTea is a must visit for any bubble tea enjoyer. Yes, the lines can be long at times. Yes, the prices can be high. But what you get in return is deliciousness in a cup. Maybe I'm going crazy or perhaps I'm romanticizing a bit, but I do feel as the quality is not the same as it was years ago. Having tried HeyTea on multiple continents (Asia, Australia, etc.) over the years, either the magic has slightly worn off or perhaps it was inevitable that as they grew, some things would slip through the cracks. That being said, the quality is still top notch but it doesn't seem as unmatched as before when they were alone at the top. The Milpitas location is one of the newer ones. It is rather small but it's still clean and modern. The staff is efficient and friendly. Pro tip - check if online orders are open for the location and place an order in advance so you don't have to wait; can be a huge time saver. Overall, HeyTea remains one of the top bubble tea chains and the long lines are a testament of the hype. read more

The cloud coconut blue is quite good. It is so pretty. We also like the creamy Jasmine. Nice design, beautiful modern place, friendly staff. For sure busy, always a line, wait is not too bad, parking is possible, popular throughout the day. Hey tea is doing well in the US. read more

This is hands down one of the best boba spots in the Bay Area! I've been here many times, and the quality is always consistently top notch. The Coconut Mango Boom is refreshing and unique, while the Supreme Brown Sugar Bobo Milk Tea is honestly one of the best milk teas I've ever had. The boba itself is perfectly chewy and full of flavor and it really stands out compared to other places. If you're a milk tea lover, this is definitely a must try spot! read more

Came here on a Monday afternoon around 1:20 and there wasn't a line. The place has a clean aesthetic with lots of lights. I got the mulberry bloom, which I believe is mulberry green tea. I asked for the cashier's suggestion in terms of sweetness and ice level, she suggested less sweet with less ice with the complimentary jasmine jelly. The total came out to be $6.99, which I thought was gonna be more expensive, considering the hype. I like how much mulberry was in the tea, and it didn't taste super sweet and syrupy. The jasmine jelly had a hint of jasmine flavor. It's good, but I don't think I would get it in the future. I would go back and try other drinks if there's no line. read more

Service: the online order requires you downloading the app yet after we downloaded the app it says the site is busy with tea prep so we can't order tea online. Luckily the que wasn't too bad and they're very efficient. Food: I didn't know the boom is more like a slushy drink yet I'm satisfied with the natural grapefruit flavor and the light soothing jasmine taste from the tea. Will definitely want to come back and try their signatures and Matcha! Ambiance: clean and sleek modern shop. It's small so indoor can be too crowded to stay. read more

Long line and kind of a bummer the app ordering wasn't available but I was pleasantly surprised by how quick the drinks were prepared after we ordered. I was quite surprised how quick they were regarding the long line. I always appreciate the employees doing their best with promotions like this. Always so many people especially in this plaza! There will always be a wait regardless so try to order online if possible. Both times I have come here I still had to wait 30-40 mins even after ordering online. In addition, something that I saw that could be a bit considering is that the floors where the baristas are making the drinks are consistent flooded with water. I think that also plays a role in why the store does not feel as clean as other locations and that this specific one has a stench to it. The drinks are still good regardless but I would much rather go to a different location that does not have their employees slipping and working on flooded floors. read more

My friend and I came here on a weekend holiday, and it was packed! Although there are a couple of benches in the black and white themed boba shop, most people choose to walk around and enjoy their boba considering how crowded the shop is with intermingling lines between people ordering and people picking up their order. I ordered the Matcha Bobo Shake with less ice and sugar while my friend ordered the Cloud Coconut Blue. Even though it was busy, and they mentioned that they were understaffed, our order was ready within in 20 minutes, which I do not thing was a long time to wait. My Matcha Bobo Shake was rich in flavor and was quite refreshing! It contrasted the Cloud Coconut Blue, which had a strong coconut taste and was enjoyable to my friend's tastebuds. Overall, the boba shop is in a prime area in Milpitas, and I would love to try this place again! read more

New HeyTea location! There was a bit of a wait and online ordering was not available. They had a buy one get one free deal over the weekend I got the mango coconut cloud and it was fantastic! I waited about 20 minutes in line, and my drinks came out in 15 minutes. The staff were professional and very helpful. It was clean inside but there were no bathrooms. This is one of their smaller locations. There is parking outside but it can be competitive. I'll be back! read more

I visited Hey Tea on their grand opening day and tried the Cloud Crisp Grape and Supreme Brown Sugar Bobo Milk Tea (though they accidentally gave me the milk version instead of the milk tea). The Cloud Crisp Grape was extremely sweet, even with regular sugar and less ice. While they emphasize fresh ingredients, the artificial grape juice flavor was overpowering, making the real grape chunks barely noticeable. The cloud foam didn't add much, aside from a slightly creamier texture. For the Supreme Brown Sugar Bobo Milk, the mix-up was a bit disappointing, but the staff did offer to remake it (with a 15-minute wait). I decided to just take the milk version, but unfortunately, it wasn't good--the milk had an odd, almost spoiled taste. The boba itself was chewy and well-made, but the drink overall was not something I'd order again. With Hey Tea opening in an already competitive boba scene, surrounded by places like Ume Tea and Hui Lau Shan, they have a tough road ahead. Hopefully, they refine their drinks because, right now, they don't stand out in this crowded plaza. read more

I don't understand what the hype is about this spot. Our drinks were not good at all, we had to go to another boba spot... Mango Grapefruit Boom: 3/10 The amount of coconut cream in this was so much that that is all I tasted. I got only a hint of mango but it was very faint and flavorless. They skimped out on the sago too. It was supposed to be a smoothie texture, but it was more on the watery side. Yumberry Boom: 2/10 Very flavorless and bitter. Beware! it is not blended. Pls save your money and go to Yifang down the street instead!! Boba drinks: 2.5/10 Service: 8/10 read more

The drinks are so refreshing and taste like real fruit. None of that powdery stuff. I looove the coconut mango boom. Best drink. It takes awhile for drinks to come out, but only because it's always busy when I go (for good reason). It's a small place. Just grab and go, really. I will warn you though that if you've never been here, it gets so crowded sometimes that some patrons will openly cut you in line. I think maybe floor markers or poles COULD help to show people just where the line is, but still... lining up is easy for kids so you'd assume it'd be easy for adults. But what do I know! Last time I went with my sisters, we got cut by a group of guys. Luckily, one of the staff members quickly noticed and asked us if we wanted to just pay with him at the counter instead lol. So, shoutout to that staff member! read more

Been having wonderful boba recently in the South Bay and each shop is better than the last. Heytea ordering experience was quick even though there was only one ordering tablet. There's a QR code for online ordering and an app with reward sign up. The order screen is clear and easy to use while the status screen was intuitive to understand. Service was fast and efficient without delay when you come to the counter for pickup. More importantly the drinks were exceptionally high quality and flavors implemented tastefully and were well thought out. The pistachio for example was nutty and savory yet smooth and rich. My mochi had depth of black tea flavor, smooth and creamy while smooth chewy mochi was sweet. New favorite boba shop and will now definitely try the Berkeley location. read more

It's good but so slow, it takes 40 mins just to get your drink. They shoulda have more employees on shift because it's a very crowded place

Located right next to the 99 Ranch, Hey Tea is nice and convenient to go to after grocery shopping or going to one of the restaurants in the plaza! It's very well lit inside, with modern decor and a familiar feel similar to other locations. As with other Hey Tea shops, you can order on a kiosk or with the cashier, and then there's a screen with your drink status. I love the crisp grape boom, and it's nice that they have a sugar alternative option! read more

I enjoyed my drink from HeyTea. I got the Mango Grapefruit Boom and it was nice and refreshing. Definitely the same quality as other Heyteas I've tried. The place is overall clean and well maintained. I was honestly shocked by the wait time as I ordered my drink a couple minutes after the store opened (Sunday morning) on the app. It took 20 minutes for me to get my drink when the app said 8 minutes. I wish the app was a little more accurate but I think it's simply because the place is extremely popular and they don't have enough staff for the volume. On the bright side, this just means you should just order on the app before you get there or walk around until you get a notification on the app. read more

Minus one star for the cashier interaction. I understand that promotions like BOGO can make things extremely busy and stressful, and I truly appreciate how hard the staff works during those times. The tea quality is always consistent and never a disappointment, which is why I keep coming back. However, during my recent visit, I had an uncomfortable interaction with the cashier. After placing my order, I showed my rewards QR code before he entered it into the system because on previous visits I had been told it was "too late" to scan afterward. He told me he needed to put the order in first before scanning. I said I understood and asked him to go ahead and enter it, explaining that I just didn't want to miss my reward again. He repeated himself, and I again assured him I understood and told him to take his time and scan it afterward. The interaction felt unnecessarily passive-aggressive, which made the experience awkward. I even noticed the customer in front of me was unable to scan his reward afterward, which reinforced my concern. I completely understand being overwhelmed during a promotion. It might help to have more staff scheduled on promo days so employees aren't stretched so thin. A little patience and courtesy go a long way, and I hope future visits feel more welcoming and less tense. read more

The service and the drink is great, however, the drink came with 2 inches is foam after blending. I got the green grape boom such has no cheese foam on top. Those foam when it finally settle after 30 minutes, there's still a good 1 inch gap until the top as shown in the picture. There was no other drinks in the store has that much foam. I ordered it in store and observed all the other drinks that were on the counter waiting to be picked up. I enjoyed the drink but it was it rip off to me.
