A short walk across the Hampton Inn parking lot I found the Hershey Pantry. I was staying at the hotel and was exhausted from the drive. I wanted something lowkey for dinner. I popped in and was seated right away in the updated dining room. I actually opted to sit at the bar because I was only. The waitress came over quickly and asked what I would like. Since I'm a veegtarian I had already checked the menu for options. I got a chocolate shake (when in Hershey, amirite?) and the special squash/brussel sprout flatbread. The shake came after a couple minutes with a tower of whipped cream atop the thick shake. A few minutes later came the flatbread. I would describe the flatbread to be more pita-ish because it was soft, not crispy. Nonetheless, the meal was very tasty. Plenty of ricotta to keep everything moist. If given the opportunity, I would have loved to try their brunch but maybe next time. Definitely a solid dinner option. read more

I know I'm bringing down the average a bit with this one, but I didn't have the same experience most people have talked about. The food was delicious, don't get me wrong, but the rest of the experience left something to be desired. It was uncomfortably cold inside the restaurant. Our table of four was freezing and we could see many people wearing their jackets and overhear other tables complaining about the temperature. Another complaint was the slow service. Getting our food did not take too long, but we never thought we were going to get the check. We couldn't even see our waitress to flag her down. I was surprised the bill took so long to receive when there were a few parties waiting for a table. The food was good and fresh. I wish I would have ordered the baked oatmeal and a side of potatoes. I haven't been to Hershey Pantry in years because it is always so crowded. And, it was as good as I remember. My son and I started out with Thai wings. I did not like the flavor at first but then it grew on me. The wing itself was good quality. Ample portion of blue cheese dressing and celery came with it. My son ordered a fish taco, which he thought was very good. And, I got the bacon wrapped meatloaf. The meatloaf was sort of dry on the outside, but mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables that came with were delicious. This is a great place to take your kids after a day at the park. The Hershey Pantry has always been our go to restaurant of choice for years, until now. On Sunday May 30, 2021, our family (4 adults and 2 kids, ages 6 & 2) surprised our 6 year old granddaughter by taking her out to eat for the first time in over a year (due to COVID) for her birthday. Let me be clear up front. We are well aware of staffing issues and so forth due to the pandemic. However.... We waited for almost 45 minutes for a table, and again waiting for a table isn't the issue, we were the first to be seated in a garage in the back of the property..A horrible location by the way! In this garage are four tables to seat larger groups of 6 or more people at each table. This garage is quite a distance away from the main building, which another issue in and of itself. Not well thought out by the owners for patrons or wait staff! While we were waiting for our waitress to take our order, and 25 minutes after we were seated another group of 8 people sat behind us, followed by another group of 8 beside them. A few minutes after the third group was seated the fourth and final group of 8 people were seated. Despite the first to be seated, we watched as the other three tables (with more people at each table) receive their drink orders before receiving ours. We had ordered drinks and 2 appetizers at the same time as 4 adult meals and 2 kids meals. By the time we received our appetizers, two tables were being served their meals. The third table of 8 people received appetizers and their meals before we received OUR meals! Keep in mind we had a very hungry 6 and 2 year old. We mentioned this to the waitress and at one point my husband spoke to the owner, which he didn't seem to care. The waitress returns making up some dumb excuse how the crab dip takes longer to prepare? Okay, so explain why three other tables seated AFTER us, received their food and drinks BEFORE us and ALL three tables finished, got up and left BEFORE our main meals were served?!! 24 people in that cold dingy garage had better service than our family of 6, celebrating a BIRTHDAY! If you come to Hershey, PA, check out this cool eatery. We've been here several times for breakfast where we've enjoyed the pancakes (topped with chocolate chips of course). The food is consistently good and the service is prompt. There's usually a little wait, but that's to be expected at a touristy area like this. Sorry no pics this time. We saw all of the awesome reviews and figured we had to try Hershey Pantry. We arrived, were lucky enough to get a parking spot just as we pulled in and put our name down. We were quoted a 45 min wait - it was about 55 min but we were glad that we actually got to sit inside since it was super hot out. We sat right behind the bar at a two-person top table but we were so smashed in that the servers had a hard time getting around us. It wasn't the most comfortable of spots. I got the Mushroom and Swiss Omelette and was so surprised that I could get a side salad with it. The omelette was good and the salad actually went really well with it. I also enjoyed the grain toast. My partner got two Eggs, Bacon and Toast with Home Fries. The home fries were just white potatoes - not much to them. Her overall breakfast was decent but nothing really to write home about. In fact, we weren't sure what was so special about Hersey Pantry. Why was there an hour wait? There was no real blockbuster thing on the menu that was unique in any way - it was just breakfast. It was adequate but for the wait and all the praise, we just expected more. read more

We sat in the patio area which was comfortable. The morning we went was busy but the staff must be use to that because she handled our breakfast like a Pro. We started with a hot chocolate and coffee and a homemade grilled sticky bun with pecans. That sticky bun was SOOO good. Wow. Then our breakfast came we both ordered eggs with fried potatoes and toast. I absolutely love my moms fried potatoes but these blow any I've ever had out of the park. They were so good. We ate every bite on our plates. Our server was amazing moved us along quickly but not like they were trying to get rid of us. We can't wait to go back to the Hershey area to eat here again. We got there about an hour before they closed, we had been at the park all day, we were immediately greeted and seated. Our waitress, Jennifer, was great. She was wonderful with our 4 year who was being more 4 than I would hope lol. She brought him an etch a sketch to keep him happy while we looked over the menus. Food came out pretty fast. FYI come HUNGRY. Portions are huge! We had our dessert( milkshakes at chocolate world) first and weren't able to finish our meals. We will definitely come back on our next trip to Hershey. After a long day and a spirited 33 on the bike with some folks in town, I was so happy that not only was this little spot right next door to my hotel, but it was also delicious and everyone was over the top friendly. We came to Hershey to check out the Christmas Light show. We headed to the Hershey Pantry and put our names in for a long wait. They took our cell phone number and texted us when the table would be ready. There really was no place to wait inside, because people were crowded in there, so we walked around the street for a bit and wound up at Desserts, Etc. We were pretty hungry as we looked at the Hershey Pantry's bakery. Everything there looked amazing and we went back to the Pantry to wait out the last few minutes. Once we were seated, our waitress saw that we brought our own bottle in. We discussed the bottle that we had and she opened it for us. We didn't see her again for a long time... By the time she came back, we knew what we wanted. My wife got the seafood neptune. It tasted fresh and a generous amount of seafood, but the sauce could have used some more seasoning. I ordered a bacon wrapped meatloaf that was on special. When it was brought out, I was told to be careful, because of this hot sauce that was on the side of the dish. After one taste of that sauce, I was completely hooked. It has amazing flavor and a great balance of heat. It complemented my meal so well and I ate the entire thing. While we dined, we examined the dessert chalk boards and thought about the great desserts we saw down the street. We really wanted the lava cake, but they turned out to be out of that. A few other desserts we wanted slowly were erased from the chalk boards as they ran out. We did get some sort of kahlua chocolate pie. It was good, but wasn't our first choice. I've been to the Hershey Pantry twice: once for breakfast and once for dinner. I had pleasant experiences both times. Breakfast was very yummy and had good portions. They also have drink specials, but I wasn't aware of it until after I ordered. The only suggestion I have is for the servers to mention the drink specials as they do with the food. Dinner was also nice- I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich with fries, which was delicious and crispier than I expected. The best thing for me was their milkshakes. They're a little on the pricier side, but it's served in a large cup, so it's worth it! I definitely recommend this place, but I won't say you should go out of your way to go there. I love this place! I've had breakfast, lunch and dinner here and every meal is fantastic. We love this place so much that we had them cater our wedding through their Events Etc branch. Their baked oatmeal is a unique breakfast item and they have daily specials on flavor combinations. Today was strawberry & blueberry with cream cheese and it was delicious! I ordered the crab Florentine Benedict and was pleased with the generous amount of crabmeat. The pancakes are massive, fluffy and golden. I love their sandwiches, especially the ones on the sunflower bread. The coffee is great and they are very good about keeping you topped off. They recently renovated and it has a more industrial feel to it now. The outside seating area is cozy and gorgeous! We came on a Monday morning around 10 and still had a twenty minute wait, bit it is always worth it! You can't go wrong with anything you choose. read more

I am definitely a fan of this place! My husband and I went there specifically to enjoy their afternoon tea after having had a big breakfast that morning. You will certainly not go hungry with that choice. It includes tea or soda, a cup of soup of your choice (which is more like a bowl than a cup), a half of a club style sandwich, a large scone and three different desserts - per person. The desserts we had were a personal sized lava cake, a nice big lemon bar, and a piece of triple layer cake that was about 1.5" by 3" around the top. We took most of the desserts and about half of each scone home with us. It is only served from 2-5pm and I would recommend going after 3 as it is slightly less busy then. If you're looking for a quiet meal, I would not say this is the place. It wasn't loud but it also wasn't a quiet and calm place to sit and enjoy a cup of tea. This is not a negative, just something to note. I would compare the atmosphere more to a diner than a cafe. The service was very good and our server was polite and able to answer any questions we had. Parking is a little dicey when it's busy because of the adjacent hotel so be prepared to look for a space to park. read more

My wife has been wanting to come here since we have heard nothing but rave reviews from our friends. We came on Monday of 4th of July weekend, about 0930. We didn't get seated until 1010. We chose the patio side, the line was shorter than for inside. It seemed that the wait staff (2 assigned to that area) were running crazy. They had 13 tables between them and it seemed like they could barely keep their heads above water. A party of 4 left, and their table sat uncleared for about 20 minutes. We happened to be next, a party of 4 ourselves. It wasn't until 2 more tables left, that they started clearing dishes. They did the best they could, but really could have used some help!!! It was about 10-15 minutes for our food to come out, and it was very good!! Generous portions, and great quality. I had the Crab Florentine. My wife had stuffed French toast. An upscale setting and quite pricey. Having said this, the food was tasty and the sizes generous. The cinnamon bread used for toast and French toast was fresh and cut thickly. I found the ham to be a bit tough and a touch salty. My friend shared her bacon which I found tasty and tender; go with the bacon! They serve Peet's coffee here which has great flavor.
