Very clean restaurant and bathrooms. Service was very quick. We were seated immediately and our super friendly waitress was there quickly to take our order. Since I was close to the south and in Pennsylvania, I thought I would try scrapple for the first time and have chicken fried steak. I really enjoyed the scrapple super crispy on the outside and soften the inside. It had a very unique flavor, but I would get it again . The chicken fried steak was seasoned very well. The batter was super crispy, and the sausage gravy was also very flavorful, and the portion size was huge.. overall this was a great stop after a very long car ride. read more

Spacious diner with decent food and good service. I ordered the Manada Hill breakfast that was a large portion and good value. It came with 2 pancakes or 2 French toast, 2 eggs, toast, hash browns and a meat of your choice for about $11. The pancakes were ok, but the bacon was rubbery and had black spots that didn't look like they were caused by the griddle. The eggs were excellent and so were the hash browns. Not bad for a Diner. The staff was really fun. I like that from the hostes and waiter/waitress. Old style furniture but very clean. The bathroom was spotless. Went to Manada Hill today - never saw it so busy and thought we were lucky to find a seat. Felt even luckier that cabbage rolls were on special. As we were enjoying our salads, a gal came up to and asked which one ordered the cabbage rolls; we said we both did and she said they ran out. Darn! They must have been tasty. The diner made it up to us and comped our salads and Cole slaw and we ordered something else. Our server, Renee, was great and attentive and our food was made quickly and looked and tasted great. We were lucky to find this classic diner for a very early (for us) breakfast. The two eggs with sausage were delicious. Piping hot sausage and hash browns were the best. I would say these were some of the very best hash browns I have had - crispy outsides and tender insides. Everything needed a tad more salt for my taste but I wouldn't fault the kitchen for that. The other half had a Greek omelette, which just had feta cheese in the center. I would have imagined peppers, olives or at least one other ingredient. The price was right too! My full breakfast was $8.95. You don't find many bargains like that these days. The lone server was very friendly and attentive. She made sure my coffee was filled and hot the whole time. Business was picking up when we left and it is a large place so I bet they attract a nice crowd. We will definitely stop again sometime while passing through. read more

Best diner in the Hummelstown / Hershey area, just off 81 / 22 The prices are great for the large portions of food you receive. I always have more than enough food to take home for later. Their chicken croquettes are divine and their home made pies are great. The staff is always friendly and attentive at least every time I have gone. My mother and I have made it a habit now to have dinner there. With the prices of fast food skyrocketing, its amazing at the great food you can get here for the same price. Came here for dinner with my family after Hershey park. Service was very nice. Parking lot was big. Food was not great. My girls got kids chicken tenders and fries and spaghetti and meatballs which was average. I got the flounder special and it was very fishy. I couldn't really eat it. The potato soup was very starchy and not very flavorful. The French dip that my husband got was not good. He didn't like it at all. The food sadly just wasn't good. read more

On our trip to the Poconos, we stopped here coming and going. Its good food at reasonable prices. For lunch, I got the patty melt and it was really soild. Tasty with the grilled onions and cheese, but it also had bacon which I wasn't expecting...even better! Fries were hot and good too. On ur return trip, we stopped for breakfast, so I got the special: eggs w/ cheese, sausage patty, potatoes, and french toast. Wasn't expecting the eggs to be covered with a slice of American cheese, but it was great after mixing it up. The patty was the size of a small plate and very flavorful. Should be two sides. Food was warm, not real hot. Cold by the time I finished. Lacked flavor and despite the gravy the turkey was dry. I had the coconut cake very thin slice which was way overpriced (6.45). Neither the turkey or the cake had any flavor. Very dissapointed. It was ok. Service is okay. Cold temperatures in the dining room. The food is eatable and that's about it. Very little flavor, none of it was very hot (the hot tea was luke warm). We've tried it several times and it doesn't get any better. read more

Three of us went for breakfast Monday morning. Service was outstanding, starting with the warm welcome from the hostess and continuing with exceptional and attentive table service. Typical diner ambience, but clean and appropriately bright. Not bad French toast, very good ham and sausage patty sides. The hashbrowns were average and a bit greasy. Eggs were cooked to perfection. Unfortunately, the pancakes were thick, and really didn't have any flavor. I put a ton of butter and syrup to try and make them OK but failed. I would not order them again. I can sum up this place in one word, meh. It'll neither knock your socks off or offend, a very standard, by the numbers kind of diner. I can usually rely on diner fries to lean on the better side but again, very middle of the road. Same with the Monte Cristo that I had, always have to dock a plac for not putting on some powdered sugar. Handicap parking was also pretty lackluster, not sure if they assume people will also use the hotel parking next door but would it kill them to offer more than one handicap spot with van accessibility? Our server seemed to be pretty spacy. Every time we talked to her she wouldn't even look at us, rather she would look over us at the other tables around us. Please take the moment to actually pay attention to the customer in front of you. Over all you can do much better. Not some place that you'll hate but food is bland, appearance is cut and paste, and service is sad. With so many diners in the area this place just doesn't cut it. read more

Surprised to find them open on Thanksgiving. I had my Thanksgiving dinner there. Not as good as Mom used to make but close. Desserts looked great but I was too full to try one. Someone mentioned having a great steak quesadilla here so I thought it would be good to order steak and eggs for breakfast. It was truly terrible. I asked for my steak well done and wil over easy eggs. It came with scrambled eggs and still red inside. I tried to get past it, and only sent the eggs back because I hate scrambled eggs, but the taste of the steak was terrible. It had literally ZERO flavor, no salt or pepper. My husband ordered an omlette and it was okay at best. His toast also came burnt and his side of bacon came with 3 sad thing slices. I don't like to write bad reviews on places, but man, this was a pretty off day. The Ambiance was great we had it delivered to the hotel, everything else was sad. We ordered corn nuggets I requested ranch dressing and I got syrup.
