Always on the look out for a good brunch place, esp on the weekends. We'd passed this location a few times and one morning we were in the area and decided to give them a try. We signed up on the app to check in the wait and checked in with the hostess when our time came. Decor is very modern feel with large windows and an open kitchen. Our waitress greeted us with hot coffee in hand but we opted for cold coffee and a latte but I can appreciate the effort to get your customers hot coffee ASAP in the morning. They have staples on the menu and some specials that rotate seasonally. Make sure you specify what side you want as I ordered a frittata that said it came with a salad but ended up with hashbrown potatoes. Not a huge deal but not what was advertised. Next time I'll clarify with the server. Prices are a little expensive but not more than I'd expect at a higher end brunch spot. I recommend paying via the app and QR code as the front hostess gets PACKED with people paying bills and checking in. One confusing part was take out. I ordered a cold brew coffee and was directed by the hostess to pick it up by the kitchen. Stood there for about 5 min trying to ask who/where my order was. The brunch drinks are decent, and I usually come here for brunch on a Saturday or Sunday. This location sits on Chocolate Avenue, and the easiest approach is to park in the garage behind the building and walk across. You'll enter through what feels like the back door, but it's the easiest way in. There is other parking nearby, but the garage is what I recommend. Pricing is appropriate for the market, but expect to pay quite a bit more than you would at a conventional breakfast spot like IHOP or Denny's. Service is generally good. I've never had a great experience or a terrible one here, and that's the point of a chain working to hold the same standard across its locations. Service is more consistent than at many neighborhood mom-and-pop places, and the restaurant is consistently clean. Like other First Watch locations, this one can be loud. It gets very busy at peak times and on brunch holidays like Mother's Day, and large family groups are common, so factor in your noise tolerance for the morning. You can join the waitlist through the First Watch app, and they'll text you when your table is ready. That's handy on Chocolate Avenue, because you can walk around the area while you wait. Just don't stray too far. Nothing on the menu is unique, and nothing is likely to knock your socks off on a second or third visit. What First Watch does have is dependable standards. When I'm in the mood for lemon ricotta pancakes or their Million Dollar Bacon, this is where I go, because I know exactly what I'm getting. It's a solid four stars. It took a while after being seated to greet the table, she asked how our food was about a minute after it arrived, then we didn't see her again until probably 15 mins after we all finished eating. When I'm anywhere and there's a First Watch I know it's going to be a good breakfast. When we stayed outside of Hershey we decided to stop at the Hershey restaurant. Located in downtown Hershey blocks away from the amusement park. We parked on the street on a Friday morning. The restaurant was busy but not packed. I usually order the breakfast tacos which are corn tortillas with avocado,chorizo,cheese and pico de gallo. With a side of black beans. Sometimes the corn tortillas are soggy but not this time! Crunchy and held together well for the stuff goodness that they had to hold. Absolutely delicious! My wife had the avocado toast with a side of scrambled eggs and love it as well. They had honey corn bread minis so we wanted to try them as well with a jam spread and butter. They were really good. They don't take your bill when you're ready to check out. Had I not eaten at Hershey Pantry the previous morning I probably would've been enamored with First Watch. Don't get me wrong it wasn't a bad meal in any way, just not quite as good as the former. Still, a solid meal with excellent service. Our party of 10 was seated reasonably quickly and very well taken care of by the friendly staff. It gets PACKED on the weekend. We had to wait about an hour beginning at 10am. They told us that they would text us when our table was ready and we never got the message. Came back to First Watch and had a really good experience. The Barbacoa was flavorful and filling. The only complaint is that the chips are still placed on the bottom, which makes them soggy. Would have preferred them on the side. I also wish the portion was a bit larger. I also got the gluten-free Market Veggie sandwich, and it was great. The bread was soft (which is rare for gluten-free), and I really appreciate how accommodating they are with allergies.
