The teriyaki chicken had A LOT of chicken but the flavor was just average. Unfortunately, Wasabi Bistró was having an off night. Normally we don't wait long for our food, but it took almost 30 mins and we were one of three tables there. One of my favorite lunch spots in the area! I usually stop in for lunch during the week and have never had a wait. They also have a decent sized parking lot in front of the restaurant. The lunch menu has lots of options that are all delicious! One of my go to orders is the three sushi option on the lunch menu. Their sweet potato roll is one of my favorites. The eel cucumber is also delicious. And the salmon avocado that I got was also great! Plus the sushi comes with the option of miso soup or a salad. Their udon is also good and very reasonably priced. The service is consistently fast which is appreciated. The staff are not overly conversational but that is fine with me. I ordered takeout from here, so I didn't get the full ambient experience. However, it looks like an enjoyable place to eat with separate rooms for dining tables and the sushi bar. The staff was kind and, though my order wasn't quite ready, they gave me a decent timeline and let me wait near the sushi bar. I often worry about takeout because the quality of the food sometimes suffers en route, but a quick sit in the oven crisped up my order of calamari well. The shrimp tempura was excellent and crunchy and the sushi rolls were had were amazing, especially the Green Island roll. I'm a sucker for coconut and this roll was SO good. The salmon and maguro sushi a la carte was tender and delicious. I'll definitely be going back! read more

Had this a second time via DoorDash and ordered inferno roll and shrimp roll. Inferno roll was smoky salmon with shrimp, mango, avocado and tobiko. It was really tasty. The shrimp roll was good also. I'm Japanese but am open to different interpretations of Japanese food. Just need to clarify this. My friends and I are in Hershey visiting and decided to give this place a try for dinner on a Monday night. We were seated right away. The waitress was attentive and nice. The miso soup was surprisingly really good (some places skimp on the miso and it tastes like water) and the salad was crispy and cold. The edamame was also good (could have used a tiny bit more salt though). I ordered the chicken teriyaki because I don't trust seafood when it's served too inland. My friends ordered shrimp & beef teriyaki and chicken katsu. When the food came out, I was honestly confused! It looked like they served my friend and I fajitas. It came out sizzling on a cast iron skillet with onions underneath the meat. The chicken was fully cooked but there was no char/grill--teriyaki style cooking means there is broiling/grilling! It tasted fine, but really lacking the essence of teriyaki. The steamed veggies on the side (broccoli, carrot, baby corn) were also not good, they were hard and tasted funny (not sure if it's the quality of the water they're using?). My friends said their food tasted fine too, but it wasn't the greatest. We were in the area and wanted to have casual dining sushi. Upon decent reviews on Yelp, we decided to stop by for Wednesday lunch. They have interesting special rolls but we decided on their 2-rolls and 3-rolls lunch specials, priced $8.95 and $11.95 respectively. We both chose soup over salad and boy, I was disappointed in my miso soup. I was recovering from a cold so a bowl of soup sounded really good. And if I never thought a miso soup could be messed up, I was wrong. My soup tasted like there was something wrong with the water, and it was barely lukewarm. I barely had 1/3 of the bowl. Now the spicy tuna roll and the mango avocado roll on my plate were ok, not great. Couldn't tell how fresh the tuna was. Overall, it was a healthier option than a fast food place but I would probably not return. read more

Well, I took a chance. I read the reviews and was hoping their food would be good since they are literally blocks from my house. I ordered spicy tuna hand rolls without the crunchy (because I am gluten free) and without mayo. I have had these this way over a hundred times at restaurants across the US. This is the first time I received it where they just cut the tuna into slices and poured hot sauce on top. The tuna was not fresh and the cut of tuna was subpar....I couldn't even bite through it as it had so much sinew. And the sushi rice was old. What a huge disappointment! The sashimi unagi was good...hard to mess that up. They are the only sushi in Hershey. Now I wish I had ordered from next door, Sawadee- they are amazing! read more

As a Hershey native I can't say I would recommend this restaurant. I ordered the hibachi combo. The beef was undercooked and very fatty and the chicken still had the skin on it. Even the fried rice was off. I don't like to give bad reviews and complain about my experiences but the food lacked flavor, wasn't of good quality and I wont repeat. read more

Our group of 3 for dinner ordered: -Bento Box with tempura and beef; -Philly Roll; -Ichiban Roll; -Ramen with chicken and tempura; -Eel cracker roll; -Crispy roll I think the philly roll was the only item any of us actually enjoyed, the other items simply felt like texture and chewing. My ramen was very bland, and even the noodles little to no aroma or taste. The Ichiban roll and eel cracker roll were also basically rice-flavored rice with a bit of sauces that overpowered any of the ingredients' tastes. The bento box was A LOT of food, which was good! Definitely for a hungry diner and has a lot of variety if you're unsure what to get.
