It's been a while since we've been here, and I'm happy to say--nothing has changed (in the best way)! The food is still amazing, and the customer service is just as great as I remember. We were pleasantly surprised to see they expanded the space--more seating and less wait time, which is always a win. Everything was fresh, the place was clean, and the whole experience was smooth from start to finish. Great place for breakfast! If you're on this side of town, definitely a solid spot to grab a bite!

Enjoyed breakfast here today with my friends and had a fabulous server. She took great care of us!! I of course had to order the famous lemon blueberry pancake which was just as good as I remember!! It did not disappoint!!

This was our first time visiting Henhouse Cafe and we had a wonderful experience. The food was absolutely amazing and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The service was excellent and everyone was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be coming back again!

Love Henhouse Cafe! Every time we are in AZ we weave it into our dining plans. Amazing food options that all taste delicious. It's always a difficult decision to make, but I'm never dissatisfied with my selection. If you've never had their biscuits then you are missing out. The service is always exceptional. They just expanded the dining room, which was needed because this place is a popular spot. This is definitely our favorite breakfast restaurant in the area.

Let's start with the positives... This location has expanded and added a second bathroom so that was good, the amount of space here is nice, they have a little shopping section with farmhouse style decor much is cute. The waitress was super nice and very apologetic because of how many times she had to tell me no or they don't carry that lol The drinks choice is the bare minimum. I asked if the orange juice was served in a large glass, for almost $5 I want more than two gulps of orange juice. I was told no they are only served in small glasses (I saw the glass it's roughly 6oz) that's just not enough FOR ME. I understand that oj is expensive and I'd be happy to pay $8 for a large glass but that wasn't an option. I then requested a root beer... they didn't carry that "only coke products" she said so I asked about sweet tea and the waitress winced as she said we have black tea and you can add sugar. To this I said okay so that's what I got. It was extremely bitter and I believe I added at least ten packets of sugar I did ask if they carry simple syrup because they advertise that they have a coffee bar so I thought they might carry that for the coffees but they didn't not have that either. Next the food. I ordered the veggie skillet, the veggies were lightly cooked, not delivered on a skillet and still were pretty crunchy so not really skillet style (in my opinion) I asked about substitution options for the toast, I got a pancake instead of toast. The pancake was really dry and not very fluffy at all, it was HUGE though, it was as big as the dinner plate they served it on with a comical amount of syrup I believe they gave me a 2oz cup of syrup for a giant pancake! (As pictured) (originally after placing my order I was told that they ran out of pancake batter and if I wanted French toast instead but about three minutes later they ended up finding more pancake batter and just made me the pancake) We were seated right away so that's another plus but I just won't be coming here again

The food was really good, but the service felt rushed. Our waitress kept trying to clear our plates before we were even finished. At one point, my friend still had a fork in her hand, and the waitress reached for it until my friend said she was still using it - pretty rude. The food itself was great, though. I had the Grandpa Skillet, which was delicious, and my friends enjoyed the Texas Benedict, Strawberry cheesecake french toast, and the Green Chile Skillet. We just wish we hadn't felt so rushed. We were also there when there were so many available tables, so I dont know why they were rushing us out and we spent less than an hour there because our plates were forcefully taken away.

7/19/25: it's been three months since we visited this location (shame on me for taking so long to write this) but although I forgot what my sister ordered, I know I ate the delicious lemon mascarpone pancake. I remember our server being super friendly & attentive, the place was very clean & uncluttered, and they had a shopping area inside (think Cracker Barrel, but less "crap", more high-end items). :-) If you want a hearty, hot breakfast, Henhouse Cafe is an excellent choice.

Referred to by a friend, this place was decently packed, but no wait time. The waitresses were all very polite and attentive. We were debating chicken fried chicken, biscuits and gravy and the coconut creampie french toast... we got the chicken fried chicken with a biscuit, and the French toast. The biscuit was massive and so fluffy!! Their biscuits are amazing! The French toast was perfect, syrup to the side, not too much coconut cream.. and the cappuccino.. my gosh!! The food and drinks here were heavenly!! Best brunch I've had in a long time! I really look forward to trying this place again, highly recommend!!

We went to Henhouse yesterday for breakfast and had an amazing experience! Our server, I really wish I remembered her name, was fantastic! We ordered a kids meal w bacon, scrambled eggs, and a pancake; the chicken fried steak; the biscuit, egg, bacon, and potatoes meal (forget name), and I had the machaca skillet. The server recommended I try the skillet with a side of the green chili sauce and I'm so glad I did!! Delicious! The pancake was HUGE, my husband said the biscuit that came w his chicken fried steak was the star of the show, and that the meal itself was the best he had had in a very long time! The restaurant is cute, with a little store in the lobby. Definitely recommend - sorry the pics are half eaten, by the time I remembered it was too late! Haha!

We came in with our family and three kids and sat on the patio since we were a larger group. After eating, our kids were sitting in chairs near our table, chatting and moving around a bit. They weren't being loud or disruptive, but a nearby a couple clearly seemed upset. The woman was shaking her head and saying to the waitress "this isn't okay to be doing while people are eating", pointing toward our kids. Once I realized this, I immediately called my kids back over and had them sit with us, and I even let her know that if something was bothering her, she could've told us and I would have addressed it right away. The couple chose to ignore us and left shortly after. The manager then came out and reassured us that Lucky Lou's is a family-friendly restaurant and that our kids were absolutely fine. That meant a lot to us and really showed how supportive and understanding the staff is. I also hope one day that couple realizes how hard it is to keep a 4-, 6-, and 8-year-old sitting at a table for more than 30 minutes without shoving an iPad in front of them. On top of that, the service was excellent, the atmosphere was welcoming, and I honestly had the best burger and tater tots of my life. We'll definitely be back--thank you for creating such a kid-friendly and enjoyable place for families!

The queso was rich without being too heavy, and the mustard added a nice contrast. For my meal, I had the Caesar salad topped with a bistro steak cooked a perfect medium rare. The romaine was crisp, the garlic-anchovy dressing bold, and the garlic croutons and parmesan tied everything together. The steak was tender, flavorful, and elevated the salad. At the table, we also ordered the cheesesteak with Angus beef, roasted peppers and onions, Havarti cheese, and garlic aioli served on a baguette, with sweet potato fries. The sandwich was hearty and satisfying, and the fries were really good The wagyu burger was another standout--topped bacon, Gruyère and smoky blue cheese, caramelized onions, tomato jam, and garlic aioli on a pub bun. The beef and bacon were fabulous and the fries cooked to perfection Jake, our server, was terrific--attentive, friendly, and helped make the whole experience even better. The food came out super slow, I ordered empanadas to start, the waitress said they burned the first order (I appreciated that didn't just serve me overdone empanadas lol) once they finally arrived they were just unfortunately bland, and just kind of lacked authenticity. When she finally brought out my main dish, she even apologized for the wait and said "I had to go yell at them". For a main entree I ordered the French dip with onion rings, another reviewer mentioned they were the best they had had. The meat was kind of tough and dry (which is odd for a French Dip, and everything just lacked flavor. Even the au jus really had no kind of salt or much flavor to it. Much to our dismay, the restaurant was closed to focus on catering. Luckily, though, It reopens for pop-ups. This morning I saw an Instagram post announcing that there would be a brunch pop up today, so we got up and got ready to go. It really is tucked away in the corner of plaza and goodbye Safeway. Inside is a small dining room with a bar, and through the rolling doors is a patio with outdoor seating. You can see the kitchen through the plexiglass divider, and there is bar seating along the divider so you can watch the cooking. There's a great, colorful mural on one wall and some fun lighting fixtures and art. Today's pop up was packed when we arrived. We grabbed the last two chairs which were on the bar overlooking the kitchen. The menu had seven choices. Of course we ordered two different things so we could share, but we skipped cocktails. We ordered: *Steak chilaquiles Christmas style (both red and green chile) served with a side of beans and talked with an egg *Green chili pork hash served with a side of beans talked with an egg Both were delicious! We both ordered scrambled eggs, and I'm pretty sure it was more than an egg. I'm not sure how they cook those eggs but they were the best ever. The pinto beans had green chili in it and was so good. I'm from New Mexico, and these tasted like the beans that you rarely find outside of New Mexico. The steak on my chilaquiles was really good - - thin sliced and tender. I was able to easily cut it with just a butter knife. The pork in the hash was so yummy. What are scrumptious brunch! It was nice to sit overlooking the kitchen, as it was quite a show to watch the chef. I was amazed at how over easy eggs were tossed and caught in the pan without the yolks breaking. Heck, I can't even flip eggs with a spatula without breaking the yolk! Anytime I've overlooked a chef cooking, I'm totally in awe of their amazing skills, and this was no different. I really recommend Tucked Away, just as I did when it was a regular restaurant. Follow them on Instagram to be alerted to pop ups. You won't regret it!

SENTRY - WATCHING RESTAURANTS…read more It was time for a re-review of Charleston's. Companion and I arrived at 5 and were seated immediately. We were going to try to eat the same menu as last time or as close to it as possible. We started off with the Dynamite Shrimp. As with the last time it was excellent. Also was the warm spinach and artichoke dip. It too was excellent though I am not understanding why they include sour cream and salsa with it as neither worked well with the flavor of the dip. We ordered non-alcoholic cocktails. Companion ordered a strawberry margarita which was quite good. I ordered the blackberry punch, which was a big mistake. The drink was cloyingly sweet and the flavor was overwhelming. After a few sips I could not drink anymore of it and had to send it back. As a non-alcoholic cocktail it was a disaster. Companion asked if they could make a cranberry margarita and the wish was fulfilled nicely. I finished companion's strawberry margarita which was decent. For main courses, companion had the baby backs which were ordered the last time. A tad overcooked but not bad. It was accompanied with excellent french fries and beans which were identical in taste to ranch beans that come in a can. The beans remained untouched after a taste of them. The fillet was not on the menu this year and instead was flat iron steak with peppercorn sauce. No baked potato anymore and no salad offered. While the steak was reasonably cooked, the smear of sauce over it had exactly by count 4 peppercorns in it. The accompaniment was garlic mashed potatoes, which were dense and without any charm at all. We had asked our waiter Matthew to make sure to include 2 batches of croissants in a bag to take home. Not only was no bread service offered to us, but the ones to take home were completely forgotten by our waiter. The burgundy mushrooms that we had last time are no longer a side dish but are an extra charge now, though the flavor is still top shelf. Desserts were the same as last time, and the quality and flavors did not change from the last time. Service was nice, but slow with the meal taking more than an hour and a half. Removing 1 star and almost removing 2 stars. This restaurant will be evaluated again in the future. 4 stars
