Texas benedict
Fernando D.

Henhouse is a convenient breakfast spot. My go to order is the Texas benedict. It is soo good. The order comes with southwest cornbread, slow-roasted carnitas pork, poached eggs, and a savory green chile hollandaise, served with a side of potatoes. I lovee everything about it. Potatoes and eggs were cooked perfectly. The hollandaise sauce - delicious!! Service is nice. Staff are usually very attentive in refilling waters and getting the things we need. Lots of tables inside, so we usually never have to wait. Parking is easy.

We decided to give Henhouse Cafe a try. Before going, I checked to see where the closest location to our hotel was located. The one I found wasn't very close at all. Once we were in AZ, my husband took a closer look -- and lo and behold! There was one about a couple of blocks away! Why I couldn't find it, I don't know, but I'm glad my husband found it. As for ambiance, they have a section in the back where they sell items such as baskets and cooking utensils. We were there for a late morning breakfast. The place is popular, but we didn't have to wait long to be seated. It turned out the hostess was also our server. Going in, we both knew what we wanted, which was the "2 classic benedicts", which come with a side of sliced potatoes. To drink, I had a lemonade while my husband had coffee. We both enjoyed the benedicts. The eggs were perfectly poached. We would return here.

I've been wanting to try this place for awhile. The food if I'm being honest wasn't that good. Presentation was super messy! My husbands poached eggs came out not cooked but they did fix it and give him new ones. The service was good. Short wait and there were 4 of us. If you ordered their pancakes they are huge you could share with everyone.

Chick fried steak and eggs , biscuits and gravy with eggs and green chili with carnitas skillet. Food is excellent.

Service was fast, food was hot and flavored really well. They have great lattes and I hear the cinnamon roll is a must try.

It's been a while since we've been here, and I'm happy to say--nothing has changed (in the best way)! The food is still amazing, and the customer service is just as great as I remember. We were pleasantly surprised to see they expanded the space--more seating and less wait time, which is always a win. Everything was fresh, the place was clean, and the whole experience was smooth from start to finish. Great place for breakfast! If you're on this side of town, definitely a solid spot to grab a bite!

Enjoyed breakfast here today with my friends and had a fabulous server. She took great care of us!! I of course had to order the famous lemon blueberry pancake which was just as good as I remember!! It did not disappoint!!

We got our seat very fast for a busy place. This is a regular go to for us. It's always fresh and hot and delicious. Service is always fast and friendly. The seating is roomy and has a nice open atmosphere. We have watched this place grow and get bigger with out sacrificing freshness, quality or service.

Love Henhouse Cafe! Every time we are in AZ we weave it into our dining plans. Amazing food options that all taste delicious. It's always a difficult decision to make, but I'm never dissatisfied with my selection. If you've never had their biscuits then you are missing out. The service is always exceptional. They just expanded the dining room, which was needed because this place is a popular spot. This is definitely our favorite breakfast restaurant in the area.

Wow! Love this place. Dani Terry and Kayla took good care of us. What a crew! The team works together so effectively there. Our food was marvelous. My wife is strawberry cheesecake French toast with a side of egg and bacon. I had the pork chops and eggs, which were wonderful with a side of green sauce. I would order it all again and will be back soon

Let's start with the positives... This location has expanded and added a second bathroom so that was good, the amount of space here is nice, they have a little shopping section with farmhouse style decor much is cute. The waitress was super nice and very apologetic because of how many times she had to tell me no or they don't carry that lol The drinks choice is the bare minimum. I asked if the orange juice was served in a large glass, for almost $5 I want more than two gulps of orange juice. I was told no they are only served in small glasses (I saw the glass it's roughly 6oz) that's just not enough FOR ME. I understand that oj is expensive and I'd be happy to pay $8 for a large glass but that wasn't an option. I then requested a root beer... they didn't carry that "only coke products" she said so I asked about sweet tea and the waitress winced as she said we have black tea and you can add sugar. To this I said okay so that's what I got. It was extremely bitter and I believe I added at least ten packets of sugar I did ask if they carry simple syrup because they advertise that they have a coffee bar so I thought they might carry that for the coffees but they didn't not have that either. Next the food. I ordered the veggie skillet, the veggies were lightly cooked, not delivered on a skillet and still were pretty crunchy so not really skillet style (in my opinion) I asked about substitution options for the toast, I got a pancake instead of toast. The pancake was really dry and not very fluffy at all, it was HUGE though, it was as big as the dinner plate they served it on with a comical amount of syrup I believe they gave me a 2oz cup of syrup for a giant pancake! (As pictured) (originally after placing my order I was told that they ran out of pancake batter and if I wanted French toast instead but about three minutes later they ended up finding more pancake batter and just made me the pancake) We were seated right away so that's another plus but I just won't be coming here again

The food was really good, but the service felt rushed. Our waitress kept trying to clear our plates before we were even finished. At one point, my friend still had a fork in her hand, and the waitress reached for it until my friend said she was still using it - pretty rude. The food itself was great, though. I had the Grandpa Skillet, which was delicious, and my friends enjoyed the Texas Benedict, Strawberry cheesecake french toast, and the Green Chile Skillet. We just wish we hadn't felt so rushed. We were also there when there were so many available tables, so I dont know why they were rushing us out and we spent less than an hour there because our plates were forcefully taken away.

7/19/25: it's been three months since we visited this location (shame on me for taking so long to write this) but although I forgot what my sister ordered, I know I ate the delicious lemon mascarpone pancake. I remember our server being super friendly & attentive, the place was very clean & uncluttered, and they had a shopping area inside (think Cracker Barrel, but less "crap", more high-end items). :-) If you want a hearty, hot breakfast, Henhouse Cafe is an excellent choice.

This was our first time visiting Henhouse Cafe and we had a wonderful experience. The food was absolutely amazing and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The service was excellent and everyone was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be coming back again!

My server was super friendly and brought me water and menu. I chose the clam chowder and fish sandwich. The chowder had a good taste, lots of clams in each bite. On my last visit my gal pals and I split the special mam tray which was a divine variety of both sweet and savory offerings, flatbread, hot tea, shakshuka and a selection of cheese boats. The decor is super modern, and I love the logo and how it includes a bike for the two "o" in the name. :) My group and I got the Kahi & Kemer and the Arabic Way set meal. The Arabic Way provided a lot of "dips" that you can use for your bread. I wasn't blown away by the dips to be honest, and the sausage/egg dish was good, although I felt like something I could easily make at home. I would have preferred to eat the shakshuka instead, and would try that next time. The Kahi & Kemer? I would order 100000 of these. I LOVED IT. It's basically a super soft bread that you dip in syrup and clotted cream. SO GOOD. It was basically a sugary breakfast, but really hit the spot. Next time, I'd order this dish again with a shakshuka and maybe one more item. Overall, I would definitely come back and give them another shot, if not for a meal then to just get my sweet treat indulgence in.

The service people were trying to take orders, attending tables, helping customers to pick out pastries, all at the same time. Then they were bringing out food running around, trying to find the right table, and after failing to do so, would bring food back to the kitchen. It was 3 of them, running around, getting all confused. And it was only 1 person in the kitchen??? I've never seen anything like that before. The place gave me anxiety. And it wasn't even busy that day. It was Tuesday morning for crying out loud. I hate to think what's happening there over weekends! My order got completely screwed up. I got charged for two sponge cakes, instead of one. The baguette that they brought to the table 30 min later, was tiny, look like half baguette, when I ordered full baguette so we could split it with my mother. I know what full baguette supposed to look like. When I asked the cashier about that, she told me it was a full-size sandwich. Bullshit. They sure charged me for full size though. Full size baguette doesn't take 4 bites to finish! And coffee comes with the sandwich together. Coffee doesn't come first, it's not a drink! But they brought coffee first. Between coffee and a sandwich it took 20 minutes. The prices are very high for what they offer. They charge full price for half size portions. And the bread was dry and stale. Don't tell me it was today's fresh bread. I would never believe it. I feel like they ripped me off, frankly. So high prices, small portions and the service sucks. We are not going back there. There are lots of breakfast places like that all over town. The competition is overwhelming. No problem.
