I love the old-fashioned popcorn machine and free popcorn that they have at the store. I've always been able to get pretty much anything I need especially at the last minute like a nail, duct tape, bees/hornets/wasps spray, toilet seat, backup keys, and so much more. Super friendly and engaging customer support. The folks at work here really do seem to care. Another thing I love are the random cool things that you can purchase, like gift cards, and various trinkets. That they have those things has helped me grab some last-minute birthday and other holiday items for friends when I would have completely forgotten the special day. I have loved this store and staff since I moved to Kingston. As a general contractor and also in the process of remodeling our home here, Henery's has been an invaluable asset, literally 2 blocks away. At the onset of the pandemic, Henery's took charge and implemented numerous measures and protocols to keep patrons and staff as safe as possible. As of this date, May 18, 2020, however, things have deteriorated greatly. 1 of 5 employees I encountered wore a mask. 1 of 5 wore gloves. 2 passed within six inches of me in order to stock shelves on the same aisle I was on, neither wearing masks. Following the example, 2 of ten customers wore masks and also made numerous attempts to get less than 6 feet from me. There are no requirements for employees nor customers to wear a simple mask. Here's the thing. The measures we've used state wide and been enormously successful in reducing the spread of Covid 19. So much so, my wife and I thought it relatively safe to continue to shop in places like Henery's. Fact is, we have a 19 year old quadriplegic at home with 23% lung capacity. If he gets this disease, he dies. Full stop. As a result, we rely on the mutual concern and professionalism of establishments like Henery's to help maintain that level of safety. Henery's isn't doing that anymore, despite the lack of a vaccine and dire warnings from the CDC and epidemiologists globally. We cannot take the risk of killing our kid. So it is that today was my last trip into your store. Life will run a bit slower for us, as we order everything online and have it delivered, but seeing our son reach the age of 20 will make that well worthwhile. read more

North Kitsap doesn't have a lot of hardware store options, but we don't need them because we have Henery's! We end up at Henery's at least twice a weekend. If we need something - however random - they will either have the exact item or a suitable replacement. I will say that we have run into a problem I have experienced more at box stores - employees giving advice when they don't know what they are talking about. Henery's has always made it right, though. This is definitely the place to stop in if you need anything from matches to exterior paint to garden gloves. We love Henery's! read more

I'd sooner do business with these people than I would with Home Depot or Lowes if I can. First off, the customer service is what you should expect from a top notch local hardware store. Not overbearing and looking for a commission. Just genuine people providing genuine help. And it really shines! Second, I challenge anyone to say they CAN'T find something here. If you know what you need, then the staff is readily available to help you to find it and get you in the right direction. If they don't have it, they will STILL point you in the right direction. Aisles are little narrow and difficult to navigate (especially with kids) but wow, they have a lot of stuff! Planned on going to 3 different stores to get things for our new house, but we ended up finding everything here instead. Employees were friendly and our kids loved the free popcorn. read more

This "used to be" a business I thoroughly enjoyed visiting, as I purchased a fixer property very close to them. I've spent thousands in the last 4 years there. Then the big expansion started. I expected some amount of chaos, but the "down home" feel is gone, just plain gone. Sure, Covid happened, and no more popcorn, but it's much more than that. Seems like very few of the "old time" employees are left, the ones with real knowledge. Now it's a hurry, hurry, get 'em in and get 'em out sort of thing. And response to any issues? Forget it. I had major surgery in December of last year. Had to get gutters done prior to that. Purchased everything, and was assured all would fit. Bologna. Turns out there were factory fit problems which the store should have known about. I spoke to store manager?, she was actually quite rude. Sent email to "corporate/owner", zero response. Now I've got piece of crap, unmatching, haywired in gutters on my storage shed. Should have just gone to Home Depot to start with. They are not that far away. Today I went in looking for a tool which I had previously checked on their website for stock quantity. Sales Person? No, we don't have that, our computer system hardly works. WTF? I had really hoped that Henery's would retain at least some of the character which helped build their customer base, but that appears to have disappeared. I truly wanted to help support local business, and didn't mind if the cost were a bit above what the savings would be if I were to drive into Poulsbo. But now, a new strategy.....plan projects more carefully, and order in advance from Amazon or Home Depot. Henery's Kingston will remain the "go to" if I need the odd nut or bolt, in a pinch. So sorry this business has gone downhill so quickly. Perhaps their new business philosophy is that the expansive growth in this area will make up for their new "impersonal" stance towards customers? Who Knows? Their best employee passed of cancer last year, and the place hasn't been the same since. You blew it Henery. read more

My husband loves this neighborhood hardware store. It's much more convenient than Home Depot or Lowe's, and while it's much smaller, so sometimes he just HAS to go to the big box stores, if he can go to Henery's, he's there. According to hubby, though, they do have an amazing variety of products, "It's incredible what they stuff into that small space." The prices may be a little higher on some items, but he's also found that they are lower on others. What keeps him coming back is the customer service - it can't be beat. Considering that Home Depot's motto is, "If you can do it, we can watch," that shouldn't be a surprise. Henery's staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and very available. Being able to get in and out quickly with a DIY project's problem solved AND the right part in hand has been invaluable to him (and to me, as I always have something else I want him to do around the house). read more

I don't know much about plumbing but I feel with the help of YouTube and a knowledgeable store associate I can do anything! I was taught how to use a 'shark bite' by someone at Henery's and they were very patient and took the time to explain it and I was able to fix the issue myself. I am extremely impressed with them.
