It's a huge store with a massive parking lot and they always seem to have what I'm looking for in stock. I regularly pick up the large bags of pine pellets here, and they're a great value. I'm also usually in and out within just a few minutes, which I really appreciate. The employees have always been so kind and helpful. They have offered to help me carry the large heavy bag of pellets out before, which was such a thoughtful gesture. And when they have the little chicks in, I always have to take a peek! Tractor Supply is pretty darn solid! They have a nice big parking lot (can easily bring a trailer…read morewithout being too much of a nuisance when it isn't super busy). I come here regularly to pick up poultry feed and straw bedding, and usually everything's in stock (they had a straw shortage during COVID, but can't really fault them on that). I like that their compressed straw is wrapped in plastic - it's a bit wasteful, but it's cleaner to transport and store at home - it usually takes me a month to go through a whole bale, so it's helpful that it stores dry without me having to build a specific straw shed or something. For heavy/bulky stuff (like straw bales and 50lb bags of feed), they have an open cart, which is nice - so you don't have to load stuff in and out of a normal cart. That's nice. Usually, there are enough cashiers to make things move pretty quickly - usually there are only 1 or 2 people in line ahead of me. I've used their online ordering, and it was... awkward - I had to wait around forever for an associate at the pick up desk... might as well have just shopped normally that time. It did seem like they were short staffed. Overall, Tractor Supply has some specialty items that other stores don't have. However, there are more pleasant places to shop that I tend to prefer to go to (Snohomish & Monroe Co-Op). Outside of commodity stuff (feed, etc), I don't like that they don't sell high quality stuff - it's mostly cheap stuff and maybe some national brands. So, I don't really go here for much - unless they have something I can't find elsewhere.

Our dog had an appointment for 2:00 today.It was scheduled a week ago. We were told she would be…read moreready in 2-21/2 hours. We waited and had no phone call. We went to see if she was finished. We were told it would be another hour. We had 2 calls telling us she was still not done at 2 different times. Five (5) hours later, we finally got the call her grooming was done. This store was closing in 5 minute. The only explanation we got for the delays was "things happened out of their control."A simple call asking us to reschedule would have been in order to lighten their load. Instead our new puppy sat in a cage for the better part of 5 hours. Needless to say, we will NOT be using Wilco's grooming again.

I don't know what changed, but while Seattle Pet Pals helped us very much when our dog was a puppy, we found that they weren't really equipped to handle that many dogs. Tim and Ruth were great and attentive with our dog, but their one other employee was lacksadaisical in the extreme when it came to showing up on time or walking the dog further than the end of the block. We have a very large, very happy dog and their employee was either not physically capable of working with him or didn't. Several times we got reports of the employee merely standing outside letting the dog use the bathroom, then hurrying to the next appointment after smoking a cigarette. Seattle Pet Pals gets two stars because while Tim and Ruth themselves are dedicated, honest, good workers with animals, they had an employee who got caught short changing our dog for the service they provided. When we brought it up, we were told that was the only employee they had and they simply couldn't provide service without them. At that point we regretfully had to terminate service - but not after our dog had sat in his own feces for six hours one day in his crate because their employee hadn't walked him for more than five minutes. In this case, it's simple subtraction - I give a place five stars. One star subtracted for the crate incident. One star subtracted for the employee who failed to provide service. One star subtracted for the service's unwillingness to listen to their customers. The simple fact is that Tim and Ruth are great people with dogs and this situation may have been avoidable from our end as well; but we simply could not trust their employee to do more than let the dog out for five minutes instead of the thirty-minute walk we had contracted for.

This makes it incredibly difficult to leave her with a regular boarding service or at those fun-looking, ranch-type places. The Answer: We found Seattle Pet Pals and knew immediately that this was the place we'd been looking for. Tim was perfectly thorough on our first phone conversation and asked all the right questions. He inquired about her demeanor, character, socialization, training, allergies, etc. Upon pickup, Ruth was very tuned in to our girl and all of her quirkiness. You could tell Ruth was a professional dog trainer in the way she interacted with our pup. What I most appreciated was how she allowed time for our puppy to feel comfortable and relaxed, even if it took 35 minutes. The Parents: We actually enjoyed our vacation! We were as worry-free as we knew how and are so happy that we have finally found THE PLACE ... after 3 long months of trial & error!

I've been shopping at BFC for our woodsy friends for many years. They've got a great selection of…read morefresh wild bird seed that is not the mass produced product you typically see at the big box stores -- and, our wild birds love it. They also have most of our other outdoor "pets" covered, too - from rabbits to squirrels. They have also got supplies for dogs, cats, "indoor" pet birds, and other domesticated animals. In my experience, service is ALWAYS quick, helpful, and friendly. I've never had to return anything, but I would expect good service. The big box shops have the mass produced feed at, I think, sometimes lower prices, but it's worth it to us and our outdoor family to get the good stuff (and it's not always more money). The back wall at the register is also always a fun read -- they have a regularly changing wall with tons of humorous wood signs/plaques and they carry some other fun giftable items. I have done some present shopping here from time to time. (And, no - I did not give my wife a bag of bird seed for Christmas! That would have been more of a birthday thing...)

A Pet Lover's Dream on Bainbridge…read more I absolutely LOVE supporting local businesses and while exploring Bainbridge Island today I came across, Z Bones Pet Mercantile, and it's exactly the kind of locally owned pet shop you hope to find! Similar to the Seattle Mudbay, The store is absolutely adorable and packed with everything a pet parent could want. They have leashes, collars, toys, high-quality pet food, and a great selection of fresh and locally sourced options. You can immediately tell this place is thoughtfully curated rather than just stocked with generic big-box items. The highlight for me was finding a leash for my corgi that I've been hunting for online for months that had been discontinued everywhere else. Somehow they had it, and it felt like striking gold. Shops like this are why I always try to explore local businesses when visiting a new place. This place clearly cares about the quality of the products they carry and the experience they create for pet owners. If you're on Bainbridge Island and have a furry companion at home, this place is absolutely worth a stop.

We've also bought new chickens from them after we lost a batch due to predators. They are all healthy and happy chickens, laying their little hearts out for us. We feed them the Hayes special mix crumble and the chickens love it. Who says you need to live out on a farm to have animals? Hayes will make creating your urban farm or homestead dreams come true. I've always been met with helpful guidance when I need it and friendly smiles when I go in. And don't fret hauling feed or bales into your car. Just pop in the front and pay for your order, then zip your car round the rear and they'll load everything up in your car for you. I hope they never move. My heart would break not to be able to make my feed stops there. Go support this fabulous local small business, you won't be sorry.
