I've been shopping at BFC for our woodsy friends for many years. They've got a great selection of fresh wild bird seed that is not the mass produced product you typically see at the big box stores -- and, our wild birds love it. They also have most of our other outdoor "pets" covered, too - from rabbits to squirrels. They have also got supplies for dogs, cats, "indoor" pet birds, and other domesticated animals. In my experience, service is ALWAYS quick, helpful, and friendly. I've never had to return anything, but I would expect good service. The big box shops have the mass produced feed at, I think, sometimes lower prices, but it's worth it to us and our outdoor family to get the good stuff (and it's not always more money). The back wall at the register is also always a fun read -- they have a regularly changing wall with tons of humorous wood signs/plaques and they carry some other fun giftable items. I have done some present shopping here from time to time. (And, no - I did not give my wife a bag of bird seed for Christmas! That would have been more of a birthday thing...) read more

The Bothell Feed Center offers a variety of food options for horses, squirrels, other rodents (including rabbits), and birds. My family gets Forty horse's senior feed here, which he loves. We also get feed for some of the wildlife in the yard on occasion. Most recently my dad, my mom, and I came here on my 28th birthday to get some Squirrel and Wildlife trail mix. It is a good mix with corn kernels, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and peanuts both in shell and shelled. My parents got me a 20 pound bag as a birthday present that I am slowly giving to the critters in the backyard. The critters that like this mix include gray squirrels, red squirrels, chipmunks, Steller's Jays, Rufous-sided Towhees, and a variety of other small birds. It has not drawn the attention of the neighborhood raccoons thus far, a huge plus. We got three large bags of feed mixes for the rodents and birds of the backyard this last visit that should last us a while. The workers were friendly and easy to understand. We had amassed a good sized in-store credit from our previous purchases that we applied to this purchase. Fun perk of purchasing food for the critters here! read more

There's a pretty big range of feed and you can get pretty big bags of feed here too. There's a lot of specialty food, such as for ferrets, chickens or goats, as well as a pretty good range for cats and dogs. There's plenty of parking in the lot outside, which you'll need if you get a big order. Service was okay when I went; it wasn't anything to write home about but they were nice enough. Protip: stay near the door if you need to get someone to bring your order out, like if you order a 40lb bag of feed or something, or else they won't call you. read more

I started going here because I liked the fact that it's a small town company and it reminded me of going to the feed stores when I was a kid in Whatcom County, raising chickens, ducks, and pigs. I continue to go here for several reasons, including the one just mentioned. A) They carry high quality brands of dog food, and have a nice selection of each. B) They have organic dog treats and a great selection of mix and match bulk treats and bones. C) They are always friendly, and although I've never taken them up on it, it is nice that they ask me if they can help me lug my 30lb pound bag of dog food to the car. D) It's fun to see the baby chicks in their coops. E) It's conveniently located on my way home. Yes, I pay almost $10 more a bag here than I do at PetSmart, but the convenience and the saved gas is worth it, and I feel better giving my money to these guys instead of huge corporations anyhow. I stopped by for dog food, and I noticed a large dog bed. It is hard to find large items for our 120lb shphard, so I got excited. I notice it was EcoSpring Orthopedic. Very interesting feeling. It is amazing!! Easily cleaned, helps relieves pressure, and overall in love it. Our shephard sleeps on it every night so he seems to enjoy it. Very nice and helpful staff as well !!! We really enjoy this pet store. They have everything that you can possibly imagine from cats, horses, to dogs. they have treats that you can buy individually versus bag treats, dog toys and all types of foods. We really like to go to there because they have a very big variety and our quite fairly priced. We typically will go here or mud Bay. our favorite thing to do here is go to their customer appreciation days where they will have a full event twice a year with free samples and buy one get one half off. read more

For its size, this little feed center packs alot of goods. I usually stop by for 50# bags of chicken layer pellets and 2-way scratch - prices are very reasonable given their location. The workers who bring out the goods are always courteous and friendly. And who can resist gawking at the little chicks when they arrive in the spring. Friendly service, good prices, great location. I have had a positive experience almost every time I have visited over the past couple of years. Most recently I went in and there were much younger people behind the counter who weren't nearly as friendly or helpful as the regulars who are typically there. I come here to buy feed and shavings for my chickens; hay and pellets for our rabbit, and sometimes suet for our bird feeder. The price of hay can't be beat compared to purchasing it at Walmart. You get a large sack of it here for under $7. The rabbit food is also better priced. read more

This is my preferred place to shop for pet products and bird feeding supplies because it's an old, established Bothell institution that's been there for decades and I like that. There's not enough of this. In fact, everyone seems to be in a hurry to knock over some old building and construct a strip mall with chain stores in it that look like every other strip mall across the USA. But I digress... Bothell Feed Company has the best prices and a wide selection of great food for any animal - up to horses! They're not a boutique store where FiFi can get her nails painted while you sip a $10 latte and get a foot massage. But these are real people who are genuine and kind. If you want to spend $50 so your dog can have GoreTex® sneakers for it's pads, you know where to go... but Bothell Feed Company isn't it. Well, I used to love going to Bothell Feed just to look around and shop for bird supplies and dog stuff. Now, I have chicks for the first time. I've been trying to get in there for over 3 months now, but because of Covid they have been closing earlier. I made it before closing one Saturday, but they closed a few minutes before their posted closing time. Today, I was so excited to get there 45 minutes before they closed! I had a few questions, I waited in the chicken isle and watched the cashier ring up two customers, take a phone call. I waited and waited, got hot so I pulled my mask down so I could breathe. The entire time, a gal in the back office watched me and looked at me. Never once did she or anyone of the other 3 employees even acknowledge me! The one was busy vacuuming. I finally went a bit closer to the counter to see if someone could help me. They young guy who was vacuuming said he could answer my questions. I kept my distance (I had not been within 6 feet of anyone). They employee took a step closer to me, then the women in the office can out. She wasn't interested in helping me, but told me to stay 6 feet apart from her employee that had his mask on because mine was off of my nose. Funny, because his mask was off the entire time he was vacuuming. I was so put off that no one even offered to help my daughter and I. I will not be going back! The staff here are obviously more interested in closing up rather than helping their customers. read more

Our bunny, Bailey, gets everything he needs here! Big selection and high-quality stuff for all sorts of animals, so we never need to go anywhere else. Today we brought Bailey in to get him a leash and harness, and the staff were great. They let us try several harnesses on him (even the ones in packaging) and even let us use their bathroom to test them out (so he couldn't escape). Ok we have been buying dog, cat, rat and bird food from Bothell Feed Center for at least 1 yr... we feed or dogs 30lb which is $50+ and cat grain free for 15lbs is $30+ so today when they did there buy 1 get 1/2 off holiday promotion I was very disappointed when we bought 3 bags of cat food 3 bags of dog food and LOTS of parrot food totaling over $300.00... Instead of advising us that the 3rd bag of pet food was full price... and we needed to buy the 4th bag to get a second discount...they sent us on our way...BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE an a bit sneaky if you ask me.. After reviewing my receipt I did go back and after standing in line for 30 minutes got or 4th bag of cat and dog food for 1/2 off but not without SNOTTY attitude from the cashier. It makes we question the integrity of this store... and maybe I will be sending my $400 elsewhere! read more

Gone here in the past for either cat or bunny food as well as straw for ponies. I came here recently and realized how good their store is compared to other pet shops. Well it's not really a pet store, but everything else that you wish for for your pet can be found there. I think in the warmer months you can find a new litter of kittens or whatever had spring babies. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. read more

I love bothell feed. they are mostly great when it comes to any needs. I buy dog food and bird food here and I will say that the bulk parrot pellets are MUCH cheaper than buying a bag of pellets at petco/petsmart. The dog food i take issue with because although the pricing is great and much cheaper than their competitors the problem is they hardly stock any of the foods and I guess its more than me coming to buy Royal Canin Large Breed. There has been many times Ive come in and they've had everything, but that. Thats my only gripe and the reason for giving 4 stars. read more

Sometimes I wonder what people are thinking.... so many bad reviews on here for customer service. Not cool everyone! I have been coming here regularly for 2+ years and for the most part have been treated very well, and even gotten to know a few of the staff. If you are sensitive to customer service issues - i.e. You are afraid to tell a waitress she's not doing something to your liking, then stiff her on her tip or wait for people to aggressively help you when you shop and are disappointed when they don't - then do yourself a favor and be just a little proactive. The staff here is busy and most of their customers don't need white-glove hand-holding, but if you really need solid advice and other higher levels of service - all you have to do is ask. As for pricing, their prices on things are ok - not spectacular. You can probably find equal or better pricing on Amazon Prime - but probably not the selection of quality stuff they have. Overall, I wouldn't worry so much about price because if they are higher than Petco then it won't be much higher. Don't forget to say hi to Lucy - the store cat. She'll hook you up with lots of love and probably try to kitty-wash you or ride on your back around the store. read more

Suzy gets cracked corn here for the baby ducks in our pond every year. When we moved here three years ago, all ten babies died. So every year after she has fed them and we have yet to lose one, knock on wood. This year we had two broods! These people are personable, smart, and help us with our animal questions. We also love how they dress up their horse statue throughout the year, it's hilarious. I find myself pointing out the horse to my kids and grandkids every time they visit. I've always had a good experience shopping here. It's been almost 1 year since the first time I walked through the door on a mission to buy baby chicks. Since then I've made many trips for various poultry needs, including asking advice from time to time. I've found the store staff to be knowledgeable and also wise enough to call on another coworker who might be more knowledgeable about a specific animal. My family stopped by today as it was baby chicks day and we really enjoyed seeing all the new chicks and the baby goats they brought in. Also thanks for the cotton candy and popcorn! The friendly and helpful staff is not the only reason I keep coming back - prices are 60% of Amazons best offer for feed, chicken supplies and equipment. It's always worth the trip to chat with the down to earth and incredibly helpful employees. Not just a bunch of urban hipster farmers like he may get closer to the city - the employees there are the real deal. They speak from experience and can get any new chicken farmer up and running within one trip to the store. I have a 10 week old golden retriever puppy. I started her on Kirkland puppy food because that was what she was fed by the breeder. She was having persistent loose stools at night so I went to the store to try out a different brand of food. The staff was very knowledgeable and had me purchase Nutrisource Puppy food. The told me that if it didn't work out I could return it so I figured it was with a shot. Night and day difference between the two brands. Puppy gobbles up her food and no longer suffers from an upset tummy. Very happy customer. read more

Just stopped by, for the first time, to see if they might have some hay other than Timothy Hay for rabbits. Wow! They have a great selection of hays all of which are a great deal. We walked in looking for just a small bag of hay and ended up walking out with some some supplements, treats, and toys too. If you are looking for rabbit food, hay, toys, bedding...etc, I certainly recommend coming here. The customer service was fantastic as well! Very knowledgeable people and easy to talk to. The chicks I bought are very healthy. Be aware when you buy chicks here that you should ask if they are vaccinated for coccidia. Some hatcheries Bothel feed store buys from do not medicate chicks for this and you should at least be aware that it could be something to keep an eye on as they have their first experiences outside in your yard. We bought our first chicks in April 2011 (five chicks). The girl who helped us was super friendly and informative. She didn't try to get us to buy a bunch of stuff we didn't need and got us started with the basics. Each time we need chicken feed I trek up to Bothell to this feed center because they are helpful, the prices are reasonable and they are quick to load those heavy 40-pound bags into my car! We are going to get three more chicks and I am confident that the staff will teach me how to raise the new chicks and get the older chickens to be nice! read more

The products they stock are of great quality and healthy, the store is clean, easy to find, they have very competitive prices, and the staff is extremely knowledgeable.
