The prices here of treats have nearly tripled over the last few years. The attitude as well. It's such a disappointment - I understand inflation and cost of business (B&O, insurance, etc.) but dang. I was rudely reminded why I don't come here anymore. Entitled staff with zero customer regard close to closing. Low staff? Or people don't want to work here? Ever since covid hit and they attempted to force me to wash my hands at the grimey outdoor hand wash station and refused to let me use fresh medical gloves out of secure sealed medical packaging (I left). Rudely reminded this evening and trust me -- never again!! Clean your evening staff up and your whole game plan in general. There are other pet stores local to our beautiful Bothell/Woodinville area that will continually get everyone's service. I miss your old staff who worked here and your prices that made you guys a local gem. read more

A big thanks to the team here for giving our new puppy lots of love. They were absolutely gushing over our little border collie mix in her raincoat and she just loved the attention. We got a nice little packet of training tips and another coupon (we went in to use one the Humane Society gave us). Fantastic store and people for fantastic pets. The staff was super helpful in picking out food, toys, and other items for our new dog. They actually knew what they were talking about which I feel a lot of large chain stores, do not. The location has a good amount of parking, is a good size store with lots of options, and kept very clean and tidy. Of course pets are welcome inside and if it's your first time going in for your dog, you may get a special surprise when checking out! Highly recommend this place. This is the 3rd time I have shown up with 5 min till closing and the light says OPEN and I was left standing outside with locked doors- One staff saw me and chose to just turn around and keep walking at 6:58pm on a sunday. I raced here to get here before closing after my work shift(6:30) so my dogs have food for tonight- I now have to figure out an additional option when I can only get the food from Mudbay. bare minimum opening the door and saying We actually are already closed so sorry would of been better. I would go to other locations if close to closing as this one closes early often. read more

I have never shopped here before, my bf does all the time, so I decided to tag along. Nice store, very clean. Employees were very friendly, helpful, attentive, and the selections were good. We were actually shopping for a Seahawks jersey for the cat, so he can match the dog, lol. They had an area with Seahawks items and helped us get the size we needed. Their products are a little pricy compared to other places, but the quality is definitely there. Their return policy is easy if sizing doesn't work. Will come back and shop again for sure. Mudbay in Bothell (dk about other locations) could be a poster child for how to protect customers from contamination. They have a hand wash station in front of the door; they have you dry your hands and put the paper towels inside the front door; they have the correct distances marked up with blue tape and the staff is very clear about making sure you maintain those distances. The staff is very cool and calm and cheerful. They really make coming here a treat despite all the inconvenience and how nerve-racking this all is. Great job! read more

First time stopping by as it's quite a away from where I live ( hence minus one star though not the store's fault). Everyone here was so helpful and service and enthusiasms deserves definitely five stars. I brought my pup here for their pet Santa event and they have a Santa that looks like an actual Santa ( there were pet Santa events today way closer to my residence but from past experience not great photos and Santa's who look nothing like Santas) and super jolly. Everyone greets you and tons of treats and praises and rubs given to make your pup feel like a superstar. The photo turned out great and my pup didn't want to leave this wonderful place. Its a great pet store, but Andrew is the reason this place deserves 5 stars. He's the most knowledgeable person about pet nutrition I have ever encountered (and thats saying a lot as I have dealt with many animal's health issues). He takes his time and explains everything, he even spent time with us after visiting a 4th time to make sure everything was working out with our dogs switching to raw. I felt good about our decision to change our dogs food. Seriously, if Yelp handed out awards to individual employees, he would get one. The other employees are friendly and full of advice but Andrew really goes above and beyond. He has a future in animal health and nutrition. Oh and since this is a review of Mud Bay, you gotta love that they don't sell foods with meat by-products. And they don't fool around about this, last time I was there they were phasing out a very popular dog food because they changed their ingredients to meat by-products. They are on top of things here, and stand firm on their company mission. And while their prices are very fair and among the lowest when it comes to dog and cat food (which shocks me because their staff is so well trained they could charge a lot more), I did notice that does not apply to chicken feed/meal worms. I called ahead to this store to ask a question this morning, since it's a little ways away from our home. The woman who answered immediately knew the answer and with great depth, knowing what sizes they had with confidence. I was impressed! Usually when I have called pet stores in the past elsewhere they either have no idea what I'm talking about, don't know what is in stock and are very unhelpful - not here! We went in shortly after to pick up the items and the woman remembered us, immediately pointed us in the direction, helped us in picking out sizes, offering options at various price points and overall being fantastic! I didn't know where else to turn when even my vet couldn't determine why one of my cats couldn't keep her food down. She threw up after eating at least 4 times a week. I did some research on cat food allergies and thought I'd pursue that option to at least rule it out. Instead of going to a grocer or Petco/Petsmart I decided to go to a cat/dog specific store that promotes healthy food options. The customer rep spent about 10 minutes with me in front of the cat food, answering all of my questions and giving me an education on other options. She recommended raw and explained how to transition the cat. She also said that if the cats don't like it to bring it back for a refund (with receipt) or stores credit (no receipt). The cat didn't like it and I asked for store credit. It was easy and each time I tried something else that the cat didn't like, it continued to be easy. I finally found something the cat liked and the problem has resolved! Thank you Mudbay! read more

We love Mud Bay, specifically this location! Employees are so friendly and welcoming from the second you walk in the door until you walk out. They are knowledgeable and recommendations have been spot on for our cats and dog over the years. The store layout is better than other locations making it very easy to find what you are looking for and make visits quick (though on our way out this morning I found something I want to return to look at and spend more time at the store to see what's new!). I've always been asked if I want help out to my car both with and without a kid or two in tow which is always appreciated (and one of these days I will take them up on it!). We went here for the first time last week when we got our new kitten from Homeward Pets. They gave us coupons for this great store, and since we had never been there before, we decided to check it out. They have tons of great food and supplies for both cats and dogs. We bought some kitten food, toys, and a collar for our new baby. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgable. When our kitten had stomach issues a few days later, I went in to ask for advice, and they gave me free samples of their products that I could try. I appreciated how friendly and understanding they were very much. You don't see that in the chain stores. Although the prices may be a bit higher than the chain stores, it is obvious that the food quality is much better and healthier. We like the customer service a lot better here, too. We will definitely come here again in the future. read more

I love Mud Bay! They're a little expensive, but we keep coming back because of the convenience of the location, how much the staff loves (and remembers!) our pooch. We miss Cassidy, who seems to have either left or moved to a different location. The guy with the British accent is awesome and knowledgeable, though. Another sign of how awesome the people are here: one of the staff of this store moved to Bellevue. We stopped in once because we were in the area, and she remembered us from this store! We hadn't seen her in months and months. Mud Bay has had everything we need for our pets except for Feliway pheromones, which is not a huge problem. They have a large selection of dog treats, toys, and everything else in between. The only caveat I would suggest is that if you bring your dog, keep a weather eye on him/her, for they have bins of treats open to the dogs and I inadvertently let my dog snatch a couple before I caught him (bad dog!, bad owner! sorry, Mud Bay). TL;DR, I recommend this pet store to anyone who is willing to spend a little more to support a local business. ETA: one employee has informed me via Yelp that they do sell Feliway products, though another employee had previously told me they don't, so I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask. read more

Always asking if they can help us find anything for our furry friend and asking us before petting or giving our furry friend a treat (which I really appreciate from a pet owner). To top it off every time we leave a mud bay store they always give us a sampler treat to take home! They are also super understanding that our furry friend may not always like what we bought. So there were several times we were able to trade our dog food in for a different flavor. read more

I was beyond excited to have this store open up so close to home. Prior to their opening, I was trekking into Redmond for the high end dog food my spoiled canine eats. This location has an ample selection of dog food, treats, and toys. All of the brands they carry have been vetted for quality, which I appreciate. They have open bins of bulk treats and tons of options of non rawhide (THANK GOODNESS) bones for my power chewer to enjoy. Employees are incredibly knowledgeable and super friendly! They always pop out and come pet my dog when we go in and are quick to offer up advice on different toys or treats. On my last trip in I finally wandered around the entire store- turns out they have frozen raw bones and doggy fro-yo! Can't wait for summer to roll around so I can chuck the dog in the backyard with one of those massive raw bones and watch him go to town. read more

We stopped in at the Mud Bay in Bothell today to pick up things we would need for a new puppy headed our way tomorrow. Erin greeted us warmly when we came in, and was incredibly helpful as we tried to figure out what we would need. She took a lot of time to answer our questions, offer tips, chat with our toddler, and make sure we were set up for success. We found the prices reasonable, but mostly were so impressed with the customer service that we will definitely be back for future pet needs. read more

I've shopped at multiple locations and always had great service but the Canyon Park store is where I usually go. The new location (right across the street from the old location) is twice the size and is set up to match the stores in Lynnwood on 196th and 164th. The staff has recently turned over a bit but everyone is still friendly and knowledgeable. I try to support locally owned businesses whenever I can and for my pets I wouldn't go anywhere else. I also love that they support local rescue organizations by holding adoption events. read more

This store is not the most convenient to where I live but the handful of times that I have shopped at this store I continue to be impressed by the outstanding customer service! Yesterday I stopped in because I have a dog that is sick and will require 4 months of medication which I have been struggling to get in him. The person (I'm sad that I did not get his name) at the store who helped us spent a great deal of time making recommendations and even gave us three free cans of dog food to try since we had never fed canned food to our dog before and were not sure what his finicky pallet would take. His recommendations were a success and I was able to get all of the supplements and medications in my dog this morning without any issues. Mud Bay is our favorite pet store. We shopped here for our prior old dog, and more recently for a dog we got a year and a half ago, and we've just added a second dog to our household. We rarely get our pet supplies anywhere else, but we find that Mud Bay has a better selection of what we need, and the prices are very comparable. E.g., we were shopping for an XL crate for our newest dog, and we shopped around a bit - our other local big chain pet store had a crate of the same size for the same price. The employees are the best, they can answer all kinds of questions about pet supplies, and have a list of resources if needed, such as trainers etc. Management clearly puts a priority on hiring people who are knowledgeable and care about helping people and their pets. A shout out to Rogelio and all of the many other awesome people who have helped us and advised us and made us and our dogs feel comfortable in our frequent shopping trips to Mud Bay! read more
