First and foremost the two employees Jasper and Audrey were FANTASTIC when my husband and I visited. Jasper who was so busy at the register and as soon as possible, came to assist us in picking fish. Jasper was THE FIRST ASSOCIATE TO EVER ASK the right questions to ensure the well-being of the fish. Not once did I feel my quirkiness was received as odd and was showed knowlede and professionalism and friendliness. Audrey who checked us out was AMAZING. She has energy that showed her love for animals and seemed to share my excitement for the fish I had purchased along with my husband. I have 3 little dogs.. This business is a couple miles away. I have used them on and off for the last 15 years. A few months back, brought all 3 in for grooming. They looked fine when I picked them up. I made an appointment and brought them down for haircuts before we were all going on a trip. New people working every time I go in.. The receptionist asked questions about their health. I thought the Vet said one of them had a heart murmur. They said need a note from Dr. saying it's ok to groom. Never did they do that before, except making sure they had their shots. Yes, I get those shots there. So I got angry, tried calling my Vet. Murphy's Corner, but they were very busy and said it may take 48 hours for a call back. We left, a few hours later vet called and said no heart murmur.. When I went to pick up my 2 dogs after grooming, I was shocked to see them completely shaved, no hair around face, or on their tale. I paid and the manager said , we weren't welcome there and called me a racist. . I am not. I made a comment and the dude took it personal. These big huge corporations, are looking out for themselves. On this day Friday, I was in need of the Bitter to have my puppy stop chewing the baseboards. I walked around for quite some time and finally found an associate to help me. There were 3 associates talking by the rabbits and then I saw another person walking toward me in the main aisle. The associate who helped me was actually from the Redmond store. Don't remember her name. She was extremely helpful courteous and kind. She recommended several products to help my aggressive chewing puppy (toys, cheese bone and a Kong (fill with pb - put treats in freezer) and I purchased them all. They are very helpful and so far the chewing on baseboards has decreased. My puppy has enjoyed the frozen king filled with treats and pb. Also the salmon oil on the dog food is a winner! 9/21/2023 This is a really small Petco location so I wasn't expecting much when I came in here out of convenience. I originally came to look at some swimming pygmy African frogs but immediately decided to look at the parakeets/budgies. I was surprised how many they had and ended up buying two. The best thing about the store was my interaction with a very knowledgeable/expert employee named Andrea. She was so helpful, professional and knowledgeable. Having owned birds for 35 years, and volunteering to work in a bird only pet store for five years, I assumed that I knew more than anyone working in any pet store about birds. I was wrong. Andrea was so knowledgeable and helpful. I was considering two days later to look back at their budgies but instead decided to come back to the store thirty minutes after I left with my own two budgies to see if she could identify their sex. She did it within seconds. I was so grateful and knowing their sex made buying two more a lot safer. Even if I wasn't planning on buying an animal or product here, I might still come by to ask Andrea for advice on any animals or equipment I was purchasing. read more

A month ago, I took my two dogs for grooming unfortunately when we got home, I noticed that one of my dogs had blood on all of her paw nails. This happens when the groomer does not use to correct technique. We called them and talked to their manager. Apparently, they did nothing. They did not even have an email to send out the pictures to them, as per the manager. She did not offer any accommodation such us getting back to us on what or how did it happen. She apologized but there's nothing that they can do, apparently. So don't go to this branch. read more

Very sad to see a pet company that doesn't care about the pets they provide goods and services to. Snickers is 12 years old and is partially blind. Very sweet boy, mild mannered and was even calm on the car ride over. I can imagine that it is quite frightening not being able to see. He come home trembling and it makes my heart sink. When Snickers was picked up from his grooming appointment, we were told he was banned from returning. Why? Because he was squirmish when having the hair around his face trimmed and one of his legs wiggled when they touched his other leg, "disrupting the process". Very unprofessional. Petco does not describe grooming services as being only catered to young pets. In fact, if you research grooming in elderly pets, it specifically notes the necessity to be gentle and slow due to poor eye sight and loose, aging skin. Snickers is elderly, but completely healthy and socialized. This is alarming behavior to witness from a corporate company who seems to care more about filling an empty position than hiring caring and responsible pet lovers as employees. Also, the responses I have seen from Petco in previous complaints are quite vague and manufactured. This store is usually dirty, they often cancel appointments because groomers don't show up, they book appointments before the store opens and somebody doesn't always come to open the door, and they have twice now messed up either the services or the appointment time. Bothell needs more pet groomers! Everyone is booked but I can't deal with the incompetence at Petco anymore. Do not recommend. read more

Yesterday I went here and had a very unpleasant customer service experience. I was trying to do an even exchange of cat food after an instantcart person substituted a type of food that makes my cat sick for the one they didnt have in stock. Instantcart did not provide a physical reciept but I had a screenshot of the order. The first employee tried to help but had to have the manager "Lunar" assist. I grabbed the new food and gave them the flavor that makes my cat sick, it should've been a simple transaction, it took about 30 full minutes and the manager loudly sighed and vented, even stating they were " going to scream" about how frustrated they were having to do such a complicated transaction. They scanned all 48 cans of food about 9 times each and asked for my ID and phone number about 8 times during this process. They continued to express what an inconvenience it was to them to have to do a pretty simple exchange (and argued with the first employee in front of me) telling them to go "finish their animals" and that employee said "no I'm going to lunch", more sighing the manager snapped back saying "anything I dont finish youll have to do later!" And the first employee who was fairly nice left and went to lunch. The manager kept telling me how frustrating it was and how the system/computer "hated them" while clearly showing me that doing this transaction was upsetting them and disrupting their day. The line kept building up behind me as this extremely complicated exchange was taking nearly a half hour and the manager looked at other customers in line and shouted to them "Its gonna be a while! Youre going to have to wait" while glaring at me. Also the (masked thankfully) manager was coughing/sniffling most of the time and sounded sick so this added to the unpleasantness of having to stand there and endure the beratement from the manager. After the manager finally got everything scanned they told me to insert my card, at this point I realized the first employee didnt explain that I just wanted to do an exchange so they had to fully start over which seemed to really piss them off, when they were already about to snap having been tasked with this difficult transaction. I asked if there was a 'quantity' button they could use instead of having to scan each can 8-9 times but they snapped at me saying " No! This is the only way! If there was an easier way I wouldve done it!" The entire time I was standing there I felt like I was upsetting them for wanting to exchange food (one for one) but this food would make my cats sick and I couldnt keep it. At one point due to how frustrating this was for the manager I even offered to leave and take the wrong food back and try to go to another petco a different day as it was really seeming to ruin the day of the manager who was attempting to do the exchange and they said " no theyll just have to do the same thing!" But at this point I just wanted to get out of there and relieve the manager who was tasked with this extremely complicated situation. I won't ever go back to this location and I have some suggestions for petco to improve future customers' experiences below. -My suggestion is for petco to pay their employees more because it was apparent that the manager hated their job and was miserable just having to do an everyday exchange. If they offered a living wage, maybe folks wouldn't have to be treated like second class citizens for doing a simple exchange. -I also recommend petco spends more time training employees in customer service so that other patrons don't go through this experience. -Additionally I would recommend petco makes their computer system a bit more userfriendly as it seems extremely time consuming the way each item needs to be scanned 9x for a simple exchange. read more

But as I walk to the front doors, a woman closed it in my face and said they don't open till 10:00. WTH? I called the store to verify what time they will open and the man who answered said They are on reduced hours and it's been this way for a few months. I asked him to escalate the issue so that the website could be updated and he just said it was up to corporate and they had no control over it. What!? This was my experience today has change my opinion of this Petco for a long time. Had my dog groomed today and the groomer heard me wrong and cut my dog very short. Winter is just around the corner. Told her I wanted only 1\2 inch off. I explained why I wanted left long. She heard me wrong or was just not listening when I spoke. Regardless I said I was not going to pay for the error as it set my goal of longer hair on my pet back months to a start over point. She got her groomer manager out to speak to me. His name was Teddy. He told me I had to make appointments on-line in the future so a seasoned groomer could look at it just for this reason. After he spoke, it was my chance to say something. He started to roll his eyes and was looking around the store. You are rolling your eyes, why? Unfortunately that set his tone and attitude for the rest of the conversation which I had to end never getting the chance to explain that is how I made this appointment, which was online. So what he told about "this would not happen" could be bull. I asked for the store manager. She was nice and apologetic. This happens often and refunded my money. That opened up another set of concerns but I said nothing. I tried to convey to her that I understood the groomer made the error however, the groomers manager made it all worse by his eye rolling, horrible customer service and what is could just be short of a lie. Now I have to decide if I go back will they will retaliate somehow against my dog? Do others think about this? I also just read a complaint dated 5/31/2024 that said how rude and talking over this person as he did with me. There seems to be a pattern happening with Teddy. Thank you for the fast response. Unfortunately you did more than fall short. I'm still concerned about retaliation. What I would like is a person of upper management as a direct contact for me to work with to ensure all goes perfect, pet safety and above your groomer manager Teddy. With all due respect, I do not trust his ability to address my concerns as a customer service representative and manager. He is the reason I needed to escalate this further. I am not sure if it is due to a lack of skills but they have declined service to my two dogs three times. First, because their nails were too long and that they needed to be trimmed by a vet (rushed to the vet thinking they were painful, vet said there was no need for them to be the ones cutting them, but did anyway); second time, because my Maltese mix had long hair and they did not have the tools to cut him; third time, asked for them to call me before the grooming was finished as he has been getting a seizure-type reaction when too anxious, BUT the vet said it was nothing to worry about since he has not had more than 3 seizures in a month; still, they declined taking him. I have given too many opportunities to this place and I'm just tired. I have now booked with Furtitian in Bothell (so far so good!). read more

I really hate writing a less than stellar review for this Petco, because the store itself is well run with friendly staff and they usually have everything I need for my two pups! This review is strictly about their grooming services. Pre- COVID, I used to rely on their grooming for walk in nail trims. Like most businesses, when COVID restrictions went into effect they had to change their rules. However, I am finding that almost a year later, the rules seem to change every time, and they seem to depend on the employee you get. You cannot book a nail service online, and no one ever picks up the phone. I've been told to come back later, make an appointment, don't come during off hours, must only be when the store is open and so on. There is just too much guess work involved for a basic grooming service. So now I take my pups to their vet and I don't get to go through the clearance toy bin anymore! I have used this store for my dog grooming however, they continue to cancel my appointments and reschedule them for times I am not available. So I cancel the rescheduled time and call to get a time that works for me. I had an appt today at 1pm, got a text saying her appt was cancelled again, so I called them to see why it was cancelled. I spoke with TEDDY, who was rude from the get go. I told him that my appt was cancelled again and he told me that I cancelled it. When I tried to explain to him that I did not cancel this appt he kept talking over me and telling me, "ma'am, I have it right here on my computer, you text on 05/27 cancel." I tried to tell him, I had an appt on Sunday and it was cancelled by them AGAIN, so they auto rescheduled for Tues at 3pm, that time did not work for me so I text, literally one min later, cancel. I then called the store and rescheduled it for today at 1pm. At 9:20 AM I received another text saying my appt was cancelled. So I called to ask why and see if they had another time today to get her in. This is when TEDDY was very rude, would not let me talk at all and then tried to say that I was yelling at him and I needed to calm down, to which I replied I am not yelling I am trying to tell you what I see in my text and he told me to calm down again, I then YELLED AT HIM and told him to F-off. I will not be talked down to nor will I take any crap from some guy having a bad morning. I will NOT be using this place again for my dogs grooming. I took my small dog to get groomed here today and they did a great job! She's a shorthair, under 20 lbs, and I just got the basic wash, nail trim, gland cleaning package and it came out to a little over $39, with tax and materials fee. The appointment lasted around an hour. The groomer actually called me earlier than the original time and said they had a cancellation, so I was able to get in quicker which I appreciated! Took my huskey/giant schnauzer mix in for grooming. While discussing his cut I stated, Although he is half schnauzer he looks awful with that cut. Please make him a cleaned up shorter version of what he is.(long hair,fluffy long tail and fringed ears) We agreed to 1inch. SO, I need to leave this lesson to every pet owner if you come here for the rabies vaccine: we found the rabies due date was wrong - it should be in three years but instead the Petco put one year. I asked him how to avoid this kind of thing happened again, he just said, go to full service vet as they cannot promise a! I and asked to speak to their manager. The guy said he was in charge of it, although he first said he was only customer assistant and don't know why the due date was wrong, but then when I asking to speak to manager, he suddenly ran everything including the vet! How quickly the promotion it is! I went to Petco for food all the times. But this experience was extremely unpleasant! I would strongly suggest everyone to read the due date before the checkout. I've been working on getting my former turtle tank safely converted to fish tank for about 9 months (trying to get the water chemistry right) and the staff at petco has been a great help in educating me along the way, offering a number of solutions and helping me achieve my goal. Now I'm in the process of slowly stocking my tank which requires frequent visits to Petco to check out new stock and make sure I'm making the right choices as my tank matures. And now the reason for this review. 9 out of 10 times I witness a customer with a NEW tank in their cart asking for a fish. The staff member politely asks if they have an existing tank at home and they always say "no." Thankfully the staff members educate the customers on the importance of cycling a tank and testing the water prior to introducing fish. The customers are noticeably disheartened, as was I several months ago, because the impulse to buy a new pal isn't met. But thankfully, petco staff has the animals in mind FIRST, and aims to educate the customer so it's win win. Bravo Petco and thank you. read more

Well wow, I don't know where to start with the terrible customer service the last time I took my dog in for grooming. I was told my dog (11lb chihuahua) would take 1.5-2 hours. Much longer than usual, but fine. I live in Kirkland and had some errands to do in Everett. I finished up in Everett about 2 hours later and still didn't hear about my dog. I decided to stop by figuring he would almost be done. I was told by a very rude gal that my dog would be another hour plus. And then she tried to make me feel bad because my groomer was using a cane. Seriously?! No my dog taking over 3 hours isn't because my groomer is using a cane, it's because they are stacking multiple dogs (doing little bits of the service at a time instead of finishing it all at one time). The worst part truly is the gross underestimate of time with no updates. And then making me feel like a terrible person that I'm unhappy my dog, after 2 hours plus, still needs to be there another hour to hour and a half?! She rudely informed me she could go get the dog now but he "wouldn't be finished." I'm already 2 hours in and you want me to take my unfinished dog home. So I said that would be pointless and went next door to PCC to get a bite and decompress. Magically my text goes off 7 minutes later that my dog is done. Very sus. I came back and paid and expressed my displeasure with my service to the cashier then went to the grooming counter to get my dog. Now rude girl is with a dreadlock man, who was also not winning any customer service awards either. He gave zero apology at all and kept telling me I should give them a break because they "exceeded my expectations the other times I bought my dog to be groomed." Firstly, they have never "exceeded my expectations" but have been decent and had been ready close to when promised. Maybe if him repeating that came with an apology instead of an attitude, it might have been easier to swallow. He then essentially decided to punish me by turning off my ability to book online, I now have to call to book "to ensure they are able to meet my expectations." Well how does that make any sense when I book in advance. That is the most vindictive bs I've ever heard. Not to worry, I am canceling my Premier Membership and will not be returning. If I could give no stars I would. Manager Mike is extremely rude, overbearing and ungrateful. I own 2 cats and a dog so needless to say I spend an fair amount of money annually at Petco. I've seen him make his workers scared and uncomfortable furthermore I came in to refill my cat litter he yelled at me in front of other customer which was not only embarrassing for me but completely unnecessary. I actually had to ask him to calm down! It was crazy!! His "management" is a joke you should NEVER treat your customers like this it's disgusting behavior and I will make sure to never purchase anything more from this location. read more

My Regular groomer is closed down due to COVID-19. Went to Petco to get my service dog groomed. I'm a 21 yr military retiree. I served during the Gulf War, OEF/OIF/OND, two wars, two tours. My service dog is an extremely well trained service dog, and unless I put him on a 10 foot lead we will have a hard time ever going back to this Petco. If I put him on a 10 foot lead and take him places and they would also complain, I've dealt with the situation numerous times and I've learned that all I can do is let them know the federal law and if they choose not to abide by it and as to not make a scene...I leave. Part of what my dog does is cover me for my PTSD. Also blocks which requires him to constantly walk around me in a 3 to 4 foot personal space. my service dog does not utilize lead due to what he does for me. This is also covered in federal law which I attempted to show to Mike, store manager, and it was not until I got ready to leave that he wanted to see it. I understand why they want all animals on leads. Petco should be ashamed of how they treat veterans and their service dogs. Though this may be an isolated incident, I don't believe any policies will chg because of my situation. My answer to that is to let consumers know of PETCOs lack of concern for the military member and their service dog. This does not effect 99.47% of the world, it does effect me and my service dog, that is why I'm writing this, for the .53% it does effect. I've never had this issue with PetSmart or Bothell Feed Store (local). Petco has a choice and so do I!, we've apparently both made them! I hope this helps when it comes to choosing a place to take your pets and who you do your business with! read more
