Very Disappointing Experience with Groomer Jake [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we booked our appointment, it was supposed to be with the same groomer as last time, but instead we got Jake.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He called my wife during the appointment and mentioned there was some matting around the shoulders and legs. We made it clear we only wanted those areas spot shaved and the rest kept not too short. Instead, Jake ignored our instructions, overrode the existing grooming notes for our dog, and took the easy way out by shaving much shorter than agreed. Started going here in 2021 and could not be HAPPIER with them. We use Stevana and she is a DREAM. We have used a couple other groomers in the past and they were wonderful, too. Everyone there is friendly and happy to see you. It's just a positive experience from start to finish. You do have to book a bit in advance, but I don't mind that because it means that they are giving themselves plenty of time with each animal. So you don't have to feel rushed. They email you a report card after each visit (which includes adorable photos of your pet) letting you know what services were performed as well as how your pet did (were they anxious, friendly, calm, etc...) They are never crowded and the whole space is very well laid out. No dogs constantly barking or seeming overwhelmed. Best part, my dog is never nervous when we get there (like he was at Maser's). This is a review based on experience. I brought in my 1 year old pitbull terrier. I've been turned down from other spas based on the breed but they accepted my appointment. Upon arrival my dog was super excited and energetic and they took him with ease. Though they weren't even able to start the service based on how excited my dog was. They worked with him as best as they could. Though they couldn't work on him that day. They gave me tips to get his energy out beforehand. They also agreed to try again with him. We took our pupp here for the first time at the end of May as they came highly recommended by a friend. We really liked Maleah, she's super sweet and patient with the dogs! She loved Mochi and Mochi felt very comfortable around her. They said she didn't even need to be strapped to the table she trusted Maleah off the bay! You also get a report for how your dog did after which is adorable! Mochis report card said sweet, affectionate and loving!!! The haircut looked great & was a great price! The only complaint which is very small was they told us 1 hour 45 minutes minutes and it ended up being well over two hours. Not a huge deal but we went during the work day since that's all they had so it just made it a little difficult because of additional driving time on top of the over two hour appointment. I never go and write reviews and I've never really liked taking my pup to get groomed because it makes my pup so anxious and it's always has been a hassle so I decided to cut my dog's hair myself for a year and a half. I wish I could give this place a 5-star review but the customer service is horrible. I was scheduled for an 8AM appointment and was running late getting from Seattle to Bothell. I understand that's on me but when I arrived at 8:15am, the groomer told me it was too late to service my dog and I was considered a no-show after 10 minutes and she already had someone else lined up to take my place. Excuse me?? I was a first time client and booked my appointment over the phone. Not once did someone mention this policy to me prior to the appointment and they found someone to replace my time within 5 minutes? Talk about being disrespectful. They didn't even call me to see if I was still going to make it. And the phone I placed to them to tel them I was running late was never answered. They said they never received any calls but that's not the customer's experience. I even showed them my outgoing phone call. Anyway, I spent another 15 minutes discussing all of this with the groomer before they finally agreed to do an abbreviated groom for my dog. Honestly it was well done if I wanted my dog to look that way, but I hated the cut on my dog specifically. I'm so disappointed with their policy that's so inflexible and caused at least 2 disappointed customers (me and the person they called and then probably canceled). They need to do a better job of customer service and not just assume everyone is going to have the time to read their fine print for 10-min late appointments because first-time customers who don't see it won't be coming back. read more

Called SPBS to see if I can bring my stinky puppy in for a self bath and nail clipping and they were able to get me in on the same day for the nail trim. My new pup is a Jindo with no social grace and aggression issue so I explained our situation before getting started, but the business was kind enough to give her a chance for the nail trim and go from there. The groomer was incredibly patient with Yuna as she started yelping and screaming like a damn banshee (her back nails were gently being trimmed but she thought they she was being tortured). Obviously, this was stressing her out. I felt so bad for both the groomer and my pup that I had to call it quits. Well, the staff didn't make a fuss about it - rather they were so understanding of her sensitivities and decided to instead let us come back when she's more settled and has gone through some obedience training first. Maleah has groomed my pup Bella four times now and I have been so so pleased with her grooms! This is the best pet grooming facility I have found so far and I have tried quite a few! Maleah has been so consistent with how she grooms Bella which in the past, I couldn't say with other grooming facilities. Not only are her grooms consistently what I ask for, the quality of the cut is top notch! The facility is super cute and clean inside and everyone is very friendly. Suds was great! This was my puppy's first grooming experience and he didn't mind it at all! Suds is very clean and has very open set up so you can see the grooming process. They text you when your puppy is almost ready to be picked up which is really nice. There is a dog store in the same plaza so you can always kill time there! When I picked up my dog, he smelled great and looked really fluffy! The only constructive feedback I have is that his face hair cut was a bit uneven (probably because he was being squirmy) and there was a cut on his snout that they didn't tell me about it. I totally understand that stuff like that happens with grooming because puppies are not accustomed to scissors in their face but wish they would have told me instead of me finding it. I rarely take my dog to the groomers anymore, and my family has groomed him ourselves since we can't find a place that hits all the marks for us. Well, Suds does!! Everything from the booking of the appointment to the pick up was organized and well managed. I really love their booking system-- it allows you to make a profile for your pet, add any special notes to appointments, upload photos/vaccination files, and even input payment information so that you don't even need your card at pickup! They also have questions such as when the pet's last grooming/bath was, and leave space to add any concerns or notes-- super considerate! I booked a signature bath and added on a facial for Cody as a special "spa day" for him. I loved the ability to choose which type of shampoo and facial I wanted for him, and it's great that they use natural products. I was able to put in the notes that he may be anxious or nervous, and as I arrived they made sure to go over that with me and also make sure everything I requested in the appointment would be carried out. Amber was so kind and did a fabulous job with Cody (full service was completed in 45 minutes!!). It was $45 for a full service bath (1-25 lbs) and the added facial was $10. The price is definitely worth it. Drop off and pick up was seamless, and the facility is stunning, spacious, and clean. I loved reading the report card online right after the appointment, and also received an emailed itemized receipt. Plus, the bandanas are so cute!! Cannot recommend Angela at Suds enough. We loved her so much we followed her up to Bothell! She has always treated our dog with such love and care and gives him the best cut/grooming that he's ever had. I could not be happier I found Suds!! Jax (pictured) is a spoiled, single child. We are very picky as he has a ton of silky blond hair, so grooming is not something we take lightly. Then on top of that offer to express his glands and then a deshedding treatment for $25 extra but then tell me you close at 5p again. I'm thinking are these people magical, I have had dogs all my life and I have never had a professional do all the things within 45 minutes which is what it took when they let me know they were finished. When they called I'm like that's so fast it's not even 5p. The person said oh it's hot out so he dried real quick which is what takes so long usually. Really, you think that's a valid answer, your inside with the AC on, did you take him for a walk to to dry him off or something? Like WTH? The space is open and only a couple stations so it's not too crowded with dogs which is a big deal to me because my pup is terrified of other dogs lol. They're very sweet and asked me lots of questions about how I like her groomed, questions I didn't even know the answer to which I love because that means they know what they're doing! We were looking for a self-wash closer to our new home and decided to give Suds a try today. Booking an appointment the first time requested a lot of form filling online - I wasn't prepared for it but it appears it's much easier once you're in their system. Had to scramble to get rabies info for them, even for self-wash, but figured it out. Upon arrival you are escorted to a tub - the only items at your disposal are the tub, water, restraint, dryer, cotton and solution for ears. Everything else they bring to you. You select the type of soap from a list and it is "fresh mixed" and brought out - so you're left waiting for it. Also if you want gentle face soap, perfumes, paw balm, it's extra. Conditioning rinse? Forget about it. Brushes? Few kinds and none were clean, all contained other dog hair - which makes me doubt they're sanitized during this pandemic. Quite a different experience from the other dog washes in Seattle we are accustomed to where you grab everything you need as you need it and they clean and sanitize it all in between clients. Places where multiple shampoos, rinses, fragrance, brushes, shedding tools, clippers, scissors, nail clippers, and frankly everything you could possibly want is there for you to use if you want. The tub is low which provides back ache, the water temperature dial is sensitive and my pup accidentally hit it to cold twice in her short bath. They appear to be new...all the above other than tub height are easy to work out kinks...not writing them off completely but as long as the other shops offer more for less I won't be returning for self wash. read more
