We did adopt him while living on the Big Island of Hawaii and yes because of him being a feral type dog they did have to shave his top coat because of all the matting. That was almost 2 years ago when we brought him to your establishment. I told you over the phone AND in detail when I dropped him off that we didn't want him shaved!! In detail!!! Yet your employees did exactly what I asked you not to do. His coat had finally grown out and his coat was fluffy and full everywhere. I asked several times for you to credit me back the money we paid you with not one ounce of remorse or refund. When you continued to ignore me I got my credit card company involved. So please accept ownership of your screw up, not mine. Yes I did receive a full refund from them because I fought for it. Believe me that is the only satisfaction we've gotten. When we see people out walking some ask if he's got mange because of the way his hair is growing in. So to answer your question NO I will not take my nasty review down. read more

My experience was wonderful. I read a couple of negative reviews and can only say this must have been a "one time glitch" or the equivalent of a "bad hair day." I have taken my dog to Kristi's grooming a few times and the service has been outstanding. I also recommended Kristi's to a friend who has a Shitzu. I have a Labradoodle. Both my friend andI have picked up our dogs with the dogs looking perfect. The staff all struck me as people who really love dogs, too. One other point: the groomer noticed a spot on my dog's hind leg that she said I should have the vet take a look at. I had not noticed it. I appreciated that she spotted something I had not. It wasnt serious but could have been. I call this excellent service. Do give Kristi's a try. read more

I have an anxious dog, which I shared when I booked. When we got there, I discovered that there were no less than 6 other dogs in the same room with her. She ended up being so nervous around them that the tech had to call me to come in early so I could hold her down to finish her cut. I have never had to do that in 12 years I have taken her for cuts. It was not a great cut, with parts left long and even toenails cut at very different lengths. Plus there was dog hair everywhere in the cutting room, the lobby, and front desk. Seems like a high-volume, mediocre quality place. We will not be back. read more

It costs about two times what my last groomers charged - but I did call around and discovered that their prices are about average for a pet salon that knows what they are doing. Kristie's used to be so good. But unfortunately they now have groomers that have no idea what they're doing. We've been going to them for several years without issue but our last groom on our dogs was terrible, and left BOTH our dogs with hotspots and hundreds of dollars in vet bills which delayed our vacation. This happens when they don't rinse your dogs fur of soap completely according to our vet. The previous groom they forgot to cut our dogs nails. We live 20 min away and had to drive back to have them correct it. I called to have a chat with the owners and never received a call back. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

We have a small dog. A YoChon weighing less than 10 lbs. She's been groomed every 10 weeks for her whole life. We found Kristie's. They wouldn't take us. So we went to Puppy Love. Puppy love was amazing. But we lost our membership when we stopped going after missing a grooming. Then out of the blue Kristie's called us. They'd moved. They wanted new customers. So we joined up. My wife and I were so terribly disappointed. I don't even think they washed her. She was barely trimmed, had dirt in her eyes, and we examined her multiple times and after 30 days and speaking to the owner I've decided to leave a review. The grooming was $125 after the typical 20% tip. That's a cool $100 for the grooming. And this is NO $100 grooming. It's a scam. I talked to the owner when we cancelled the 2nd appointment and he seems arrogant and in disbelief. He thinks his prices are normal but he he has really, really poor groomers, and won't be responsible for it in the end. I told him I've been to Petco and had a better experience, you know who I am, and I was not kidding. I waited several weeks before posting this. You need to get you act straight, lower your prices because your groomers are NOT THAT GOOD. 1 star. Offering a free reforming could have saved this. But the owner is rude, arrogant, and dismissive. Don't go here. Literally. Petco is better. I'm not kidding. If you can get into puppy love, do it!! read more

I take my doodle and my Samoyed here and they always do such a great job - and I feel like doodles and Samoyeds are 2 really hard breeds to groom! They make sure to clarify what I want, and I've never been disappointed! I like my doodle cut a little shorter, and I love how cute and round my samoyed's feet look after grooming. I've been coming here for almost 1 year and will continue to return, and the prices are pretty reasonable compared to Seattle prices (a little less since they're outside of the city) but worth it for the quality. read more

After two visits we are not returning. There are a lot of people who recommend this place, however I believe that their popularity has caused them to have more business than they can professionally handle. My pup was poorly groomed the first visit and now this second visit they butchered her nails. If they have staff unable to do something as simple as a nail trim without cracking/ripping and bleeding there is a real lack of training/care going on. We should have known when our friendly easy-going pup trembled at the sight of the place the second time. Will not return. read more

Jessie has been our groomer for 10+ years for 13+ dogs that my mother, my partner, my roommate(s), and myself have owned over the years. Jessie is pictured here with our chow chow Mochi. Chows are pretty stand-offish by nature and are only one person dogs - meaning that unless the person interacting with them is "their person" they will feel anxious, they will attempt to run away, or in worst case scenarios resort to fear biting. Some chows need to be muzzled in order to be groomed. Not our Mochi. He loves being groomed by Jessie and looks forward to seeing her every 8 weeks. They share a very special bond together and it has been the same for our two previous chows Momo and Diego that have crossed the rainbow bridge. She is patient and firm with all of our dogs and it is very clear in the way that she interacts with them that she loves them dearly and they love her back too. I don't leave reviews on Yelp very often and when I do its either very good or very bad. I felt compelled to leave this review after hearing that some people are leaving FALSE negative reviews for Jessie and her current employer. They're just salty over losing the one person generating positive reviews for their business to Kristis Grooming. The price is right, they treat their employees well, the premises are brightly lit and clean (does not smell like urine and feces like the other place), you can see for yourself through the huge glass window how groomers care for the pups, more importantly, your pups are COMPLETELY SAFE and IN NO DANGER here. They will be well loved by the amazing and competent staff here at Kristi's Grooming. I will not be taking my dogs to anyone else other than Jessie. We love her! read more

When you get an appointment they do a good job. Customer service is poor. They rarely answer phone calls. They cancelled our appointment two times in a row as they were short staffed. An appointment that was made months in advance. They never bothered to accommodate except to say that they'll call us in 2 weeks to set up an appointment. Totally unacceptable. We brought our new puppy Pike to the groomer today to be groomed by Jesse. She was very informative that we might not get much of a haircut because it's his first time and it can be stressful for new puppies (totally understandable!) so we tempered our expectations after we dropped him off. Later on, when I picked him up, I was floored that she had been able to give him a full haircut, bath, etc. The best part is that he was happy and his haircut turned out great! In fact, Pike didn't even want to leave after I picked him up! We will definitely be going back! read more

I recently moved to Bothell in May and needed to find a groomer right away. I read reviews from multiple places and decided to give Kristi's a try. They were able to fit me in right away usually groomers are booked out a month in advance. When entering, we were greeted by a nice gentleman who checked us in and introduced us to our groomer, Krista. She was so great with our Shih Tzu Oreo and gave him the best haircut he has ever had. My dog has been traumatized in the past but every time I pick him up, he has the happiest face. We have been a loyal customer since then. Something has changed at Kristi's and it is NOT GOOD AT ALL. I've been bringing my pup here for YEARS to get nail trims and she always has done great and they've told me to bring her back anytime. Today however...I did not recognize any of the staff, including the front desk and the groomer. The person that attempted to do the nail trim is obviously NOT very good at her job because after about 10 seconds of trying she gave up and said "We're not doing it! The dog is freaking out and biting. We can't do it." Terrible customer service and a terrible groomer! They also raised their prices significantly recently which I was ok with until how I got treated today. Don't come here. I'm terribly disgusted and disappointed with what Kristi's grooming has turned into. If you want to keep your business going, I suggest going back to better groomers. I'm going to tell my mom to go elsewhere now too. read more

I have taken my little friend (22 lb dog) to this place twice before for nail trims; she hates when I do it at home and it takes me forever to even hold her paw still enough to trim her nails. Chris has been the one to trim and grind her nails and for whatever reason she always does great with him without additional assistance aside from just strapping her on the table. I also usually stand inside the shop right outside the door and wave through the window to distract her a bit. Due to covid they only allow one guest inside the shop at a time. I took her in for another nail trim and this time an woman with very short hair took my dog back. Someone was in the lobby area and they said I had to wait outside. I was bothered by this because I like to see what is going on and I had called earlier that morning to make the appointment. Turns out that the person in the lobby area was a friend or worker and not actually a customer being helped- I saw him just chatting with the gentleman who worked the desk. Nail trims take no longer than 10 min so I was pretty pissed that I could not really watch my dog getting her nails trimmed. This woman fucked up my dog's nails and didn't even cut all of them!!!! She cut several down to the quick and from what I could see standing outside needed to call in another girl worker to hold my dog still cause she said she was squirming ( well obviously-because she cut her nails so short she was bleeding). This never happened when Chris cuts nails and that's because he cuts her nails from the back and not the front. I was literally fuming when they gave me back my shaken up dog, the woman turned her over to me super quickly and rushed back inside, and the man working the desk came out with a portable square and charged me $15 for a nail trim (dude it's was $10 for trim and $20 for trim and grind like a couple weeks ago). So obviously I guess they changed their prices. The chit chatting continued as I left with my dog and my dog was breathing so hard that I knew she was hurting bad... I showed her nails to my rover lady who was taking Charlie for a couple days since I was getting married and she gasped in shock how bad it looked! As a medical professional I should have said something at the time but I was also in shock as well. Will not be returning with my little friend, clearly there is inconsistency in skills among staff. read more

Kristi, through our conversation over the phone, and as evident by your comments, you failed to understand two points that were the main reasons for our dissatisfaction and disappointment in you and your business. 1) As we mentioned to you over the phone, we were concerned with Brandi's ability to groom our cat even before we started. She did not seem interested or confident that our cat was able to be groomed, BEFORE our cat was even out of her carrier. I'm sure she's not THAT experienced to know our cat's hydration level or skin before she even sees her. 2) We switched from our usual groomer in Bellevue to try your place because we were hoping to find somewhere closer to our house. Going to Capitol Hill during a weekend with multiple ramp closures and I-5 closures when we can just take her to her old groomer, whom we know can do the job well, was the complete opposite of what we were trying to achieve. We did not misunderstand what you said over the phone. What we felt was that these "paper thin skin" and "dehydration" concerns were just excuses, especially after our initial conversation with Brandi. We feed Zoey an organic raw diet, enhanced with bone broth 3x/day, so her hydration has never been an issue. She also goes to the vet on schedule every time, and has never been considered "underweight". She's had grooming regularly throughout the years that we've had her, and she's not had an emergency or a "bad day", as you guys described it. I think it's time you re-evaluate your groomers' technique on grooming cats, instead of telling your customers everything they might be doing wrong or everything that's wrong with their pets. P.S. We took our cat to her old groomer yesterday, and she was bathed, shaved with the lion-cut. No emergencies, no concerns with "paper thin skin", no comments of us dehydrating our cat, and not a bad day at all. P.P.S. You can keep the $60. That's not our main concern as you described it. We just don't think it's right to pay for a service that wasn't done correctly, and all the while wasting our own time. read more

Very unprofessional from start to finish. I only called here since my original groomers were booked out for a whole month. I originally called on 5/15 to make an appointment for Saturday 5/22, my day off and a whole week out, and we made the appointment perfectly fine. One day before his appointment 5/21, they call me saying we need to reschedule due to a scheduling error?! They had a whole week prior to contact me about this error. The only time they had available that semi worked was Wednesday 5/27 for 9am. I told them I worked that day from 11-4, so if I took that appointment that I wouldn't be able to pick him up until after 4pm, which the man on the phone said that should be fine and will make a note of it for this exception (which he didn't). I wouldn't like to leave my dog there for that long, but I had no other choice since they cancelled my appointment on my day off and my dog was in need of a groom. When getting there, everything was fine until they mentioned that picking him up after 4pm was a long time to leave him there and if my dog goes to the bathroom in the kennel, they will have to rewash him and I'm assuming charged more for that. I told them that I made this appointment since they cancelled my Saturday appointment and they said it would be okay. He then asked "so we will make this exception for today?" ... they obviously never made note of it. Two hours in, I get a voicemail saying my dog was trying to throw himself off the table and bite them and can't continue and says my dog needs to go to obedience class, when my dog has NEVER tried to bite someone and was good at his original groomers multiple times. They said in the voicemail that I would not be charged since they didn't finish the groom and would be best to pick him up earlier. I left work early to pick him up, and the man at the front desk said in a condescending tone "did any other groomers say anything bad before about your dog because he was very bad" And I said "no just here" and he tried to charge me for an unfinished groom when they said they wouldn't charge (bad communication skills). And I was ready to show him the voicemail. He went and grabbed my dog and asked the other groomers if they witnessed my dogs behavior and one said "oh yeah he was a very naughty boy" and the man even said "well he looks pretty calm to me now." And I can hear everything they are saying. And they continue to say that he would try and bite when they had clippers or shears near him. He then gave me my dog saying that they witnessed him being bad. I told him that I have cut around my dogs face before and his nails and he's never harmed me or anyone else so it must be something that they are doing. My dog never shows bad behavior unless he's been hurt or been made very uncomfortable. I stormed out and will never be coming back. Never got the name of the man at the front desk nor do I care, but the groomer was Courtney. I went home and checked where they did some of his grooming. They clipped his nails and shaved his paw pads and that's where I'm sure they made him feel uncomfortable where they did a little nip in between his paw pads. And that's where they stopped since I can tell they tried to cut around his feet and it's all uneven. So much for your "professional groomers" ... I advise not to go here and I will be that person that says if I could leave a 0 star I would. read more

Back in April I inherited a 13yo dog. His nails were very long, and his coat was grown out and matted. Within a few minutes of having him, it was obvious he was quite uncomfortable. I called around to several places that were booked out, meaning he would have to live like that, at the minimum, for another wee. I called Kristie's and sent them a picture by their request. They asked me if I could have him there in 20 minutes, and spent the next two hours gently and slowly shaving him all the way down to remove the mats, and trimming his nails the best they could, given his level of discomfort. He felt so much better afterwards. It was very evident by their tender treatment of him, that they deeply care about the animals that they serve. I cannot recommend Kristi's enough! read more

It was easy to make an appointment, upon arrival I was quickly greeted and they are taking safety precautions during this pandemic seriously so that was great. The groomer came out to my nervous poodle and immediately started bonding. She was so sweet and gentle with her I had no problems leaving. I felt comfortable she was in good hands. I took my 14 week old Shih-Tzu Pup to Kristi's Grooming for his first all over cut. I was really nervous about where to take Sumo since he's just a little guy and I've read so many horror stories about dogs getting bad nicks or infections from groomers. Alas, the great reviews won me over, and the easy scheduling was a plus. Their prices are very fair in comparison to those in the Bothell/Kirkland area. I wanted to stay and watch, but was told the services would take 2-3 hours. It was hard to let go, but Molly took EXCELLENT care of Sumo. He looked so handsome and his demeanor was as jolly as when we left him. Just from this one experience, I can tell they are true professionals. Sumo is not one to sit still, and for him to come out unhurt and with a perfect cut - that takes skill! The shampoo they used also smells great, and the scarf they put on him.. ok I'll stop gushing..
