My Regular groomer is closed down due to COVID-19. Went to Petco to get my service dog groomed. I'm a 21 yr military retiree. I served during the Gulf War, OEF/OIF/OND, two wars, two tours. My service dog is an extremely well trained service dog, and unless I put him on a 10 foot lead we will have a hard time ever going back to this Petco. If I put him on a 10 foot lead and take him places and they would also complain, I've dealt with the situation numerous times and I've learned that all I can do is let them know the federal law and if they choose not to abide by it and as to not make a scene...I leave. Part of what my dog does is cover me for my PTSD. Also blocks which requires him to constantly walk around me in a 3 to 4 foot personal space. my service dog does not utilize lead due to what he does for me. This is also covered in federal law which I attempted to show to Mike, store manager, and it was not until I got ready to leave that he wanted to see it. I understand why they want all animals on leads. Petco should be ashamed of how they treat veterans and their service dogs. Though this may be an isolated incident, I don't believe any policies will chg because of my situation. My answer to that is to let consumers know of PETCOs lack of concern for the military member and their service dog. This does not effect 99.47% of the world, it does effect me and my service dog, that is why I'm writing this, for the .53% it does effect. I've never had this issue with PetSmart or Bothell Feed Store (local). Petco has a choice and so do I!, we've apparently both made them! I hope this helps when it comes to choosing a place to take your pets and who you do your business with! read more

Do not use groomers here If you have a difficult dog to groom. They do not listen to your instructions what so ever. It was like I was talking to a brick wall. Won't use Petco services or supplies again. read more

Made a appointment to get my dogs a couple of shots. Showed up at 4.03 they told me remain in my car we have 3 people ahead of you. The store is poorly at best managed . I will never go back they think people have all the time to wait on they poor appointment system. read more

Every time I've been here the staff has been very welcoming and helpful. I took my puppy to puppy playtime and the dog trainer, Nolan, was very helpful and knowledgeable! He did a wonderful job at watching all the pups and keeping the small ones separated from the big ones (I was worried about this as a first timer since my pup is very small). The team in this store was super friendly and helpful! I came in with my baby and didn't have a stroller, and he didn't want to sit in the cart so i had to hold him. They went out of their way to help me get a heavy bag of dog food in the cart and get it up front to pay. They also made recommendations on which treats to choose to get my money's worth. And they were all pretty young, so it blasted the frequently-held misconception that young employees don't care about customers. I will definitely be back! read more

We have taken our long haired dog for baths here a couple times now and he has left the salon cleaner, silkier, and better-smelling for a longer lasting time compared to grooming at other Petco locations. Most recently we took him here directly from a camping trip (he literally had twigs in his hair). They were able to fit us in when I called last minute on a weekend, and they did a stellar job. I definitely recommend Bothell Petco grooming! read more

I went to Petco in Lithonia, Georgia ( Stonecrest Mall area) for a scheduled grooming appointment, ( 05/13/2021 @1045am). I received awful customer service from both the Grooming area and the Male store manager. After several minutes in the location the groomer Ms. Cassie said, (I think that is her name) " Petco doesn't work with dogs older than 9 years old". My dog is 11 years old, and she was Groomed at the location this year. In dismay and disbelief, I went to my car, then phoned the store manager. I expressed my concern, he asked me to hold for him to gather information about the matter. My call was disconnected. I went back into the store and was told the Groomer can decide not to service an animal. My dog is an 8- pound Chi-poo, she doesn't bark, nor bite, she has no health problems, she'll friendly. The store has a problem free recent history with her. The manger never apologized for the phone disconnect, nor the inconvenience related to not being providing a scheduled service. I will never again go to a Petco. read more

Had the worst grooming experience at this location. When I picked up my puppy he had multiple skin injuries on his body. The groomer wanted me to believe he already had those injuries, but I had checked his skin thoroughly before dropping him off to make sure his skin had no dry spots or flakiness. He also told me he couldn't finish him because he was acting crazy, but my puppy is normally very good with grooming. His previous groomer even complimented him on his calm behavior and he always looked happy when I picked him up. Today the story was totally different. Not only he had all those injuries, my poor pup looked so scared and noticeably unstable. When we got home he kept hiding in corners like he was traumatized about something. I feel terrible I chose to groom him at this place! read more

BEWARE‼ Prices differ greatly between in store & online! If you find yourself running low before your next online/auto ship arrival beware of HUGE price gaps in store vs online. I learned the hard way & did not notice the price error until my return home. I called the store only to be told that I was supposed to tell the cashier to use the online price not the in store price. I replied that I wasn't even aware that there was two different price points until I pulled the receipt out of the bag & noticed the error upon my return home. I am told that I must return to the store for a price correction. They will not refund my card the difference as I would expect as a customer goodwill. Having to return to the store for something as erroneous as this is very inconvenient & unacceptable customer service. read more

We started taking our two dogs here for grooming because the Petco in Lynnwood's entrance got my dog upset as it's enclosed and claustrophobic. There was a really good groomer there named Carla and she always cut our dogs perfectly and they seemed to love her. She left and since then the past couple of times have been garbage. The tall man with scraggly beard has an attitude which was confirmed to me when I returned home to tell my wife about him and she told me about her bad experience with him as well. If that wasn't enough, they kept our puppy for 5 hours and didn't even cut his nails or shave his paws. On top of that they charged an extra $10 because God forbid they had to comb out some kinks in her fur. I will never take our dogs there again and would give a 1 star if it wasn't for the handful of positive experiences we had with the prior groomer. read more

I just want to say I had a wonderful visit to Petco this morning! I always go places during hours where I know there is less foot traffic so I can get my shopping done mostly in peace and ask for help if needed. I was looking at almost every bag of treats to find what ones I would actually feed to my dog that I obviously care so deeply for. Not only did someone come to assist me she spent time in the isle talking with me about what treats she would feed her dogs and a whole conversation about what foods we do and dont like. I went up to the front to check out where me and my pup were greeted very sweetly and had another lovely conversation with the clerk! This PetCo was extremely inconvenient. The service is terrible and I was overcharged; the item i was purchasing according to their website was $8.49 and the cashier charged me $14.99. I was not aware that there was a price difference from in store and online. I am extremely disappointed in this PetCo and I do not recommend. The app for PetCo was not working and they wouldn't give me the 10% off for as much as i was buying. It was not my fault that their app was not working. Very disappointed. read more

My favorite Petco by far! The animals here are always in great condition and well kept, you can tell the staff hired here really do care about the animals such as Elf who is very knowledgeable about them. Nolan is an amazing dog trainer and has given me very helpful and useful tips for training my puppy and is extremely friendly and quick! All staff here are very open and pleasant to interact with as far as I've seen and it has such a positive vibe to it! read more

Updated reviews from two stars to four stars: Petco returned the message I left and refunded the appointment so I appreciate that and consider it good customer service after that unfortunate haircut. Her hair will grow back and at least they stand by their customer satisfaction guarantee. I mentioned in the precious review what happened was our Pomeranian Chihuahua has a gorgeous coat and her most complimented feature is her amazing fox like tail. We always ask that they ONLY trim up her paws and the back of her hind legs for sanitation reasons. Today the groomer took the liberty of cutting up her tail and not only is all of that gorgeous fur gone, it was cut very unevenly with many cut lines visible. It honestly looks horrible, is not what we instructed, and is going to take a long time to grow out. And they have you pay and tip before picking up the dog so they got a tip and full payment for a horrible haircut that we hadn't yet clapped eyes on. I know the hair will grow back but I was disappointed that we spent over $60 for a horrible haircut and was a waste of our morning. Since they returned my call and refunded us, I at least feel better that I didn't just throw that money trash which is what it felt like when I saw her haircut. Good customer service and friendly staff. Just poor communication in the grooming department. read more

I have two Shih Tzus and this have been to a lot of different places but Ashley is the best, they came out looking like brand new pups i love the way she pays attention to detail from the shape of their tails, cut around the eyes and ear. We had an appointment for our Charlie boy to get groomed . Hes a Yorky mix. After two hrs we went to pick him up and they had only shampooed him. They said they said they did not have the time to cut him. The tall bearded guy was rude as well. there are 1600 members in my local union and 7000 people in our local church. Word will travel fast. We like Petco but not this one. read more

The store is clean and the front checkout employees are awesome. The reason I'm giving a 1 Star is because of the grooming service. I took my dog in to get the basic bath service (glands, nail trim, brushing, shampoo). I requested an additional service for my dog. The check in person didn't seem to know how to enter my info (first time at this place for grooming). She had to bring out the technician to help with the check in process. No worries tho as she seemed new and I can sympathize. After 3 hours, my dog is ready. According to the check in girl, the technician was unable to trim the nails OR brush out his hair. The check In girl who seemed clueless and the groomer both restrained my dog to the point that "he was hanging off the table choking" according to her. What?!? Unbelievably and horrendous!!! And was told that he needs to be sedated. YET, he's been to groomers in the past with no apparent problem OR behavioral issues to this extreme! He is happy to have his coat brushed in general. But they couldn't even do that?!? My dog was extremely stressed when I picked him up and didn't calm down for an hour or so once at home. NEVER will I take him there again. I called a vet place for help in trimming his nails at the very least. I was given the impression that the groomers at this location doesn't know how to hold a dog to avoid stressful situations. And on top of this, I still had to pay full price for the services he didn't get! So, if you love your dog, don't bring him/her for grooming. read more

I had my dog groomed at Canyon park/bothell PetCo by Carla, who apparently has been certified since 2012. The fact that my dogs foot is cut open and bleeding above the nail and the hair cut is the worst he's ever had makes me think otherwise. I never got a call indicating he was ready and by the time I called they had told me he had been ready for a while and "ops, you never got a call or a text". When I arrived the girl who had cut My dogs hair wasn't there. I had to pay for my dogs groom before even seeing him, they charged me over $80 for a crap job and they hurting my dog. The girl cashing me out mentioned "she had a hard time with his feet" but failed to say anything about his bleeding paw and then ran in the back before I got a good look at him. I've had my dog for over 4 years and not once had an issue with him going to any groomer, he always used to enjoy it prior to this visit. I'm absolutely appalled by this visit. read more
