So, when I bravely ventured into Good Karma Dog Spa for their self-wash station AND a nail trim, I was prepared for a full-blown canine rebellion. But HOLD THE PHONE! This place is LEGIT. First of all, the tubs are raised! My back actually survived the experience! And they provide EVERYTHING: amazing smelling shampoo that even Roy's sensitive skin didn't object to (he usually smells like a wet dumpster fire after a home bath), fluffy towels that felt fancier than my own, and even a little apron to keep ME from looking like I'd wrestled a swamp monster. Now, the real MVP was their nail trimming service. Let me tell you, Roy usually reacts to nail clippers like they're tiny instruments of torture sent straight from the depths of Haides or your local HR department. But the staff at Good Karma... they worked magic! They were so patient, gentle, and armed with delicious treats. I swear, Roy was actually wagging his tail by the end! It was like witnessing a canine exorcism, only instead of demons, they were banishing hangnails! Seriously, I walked out of Good Karma with a clean, reasonably well-behaved dog and AND STILL DRY! This was my first visit to Good Karma, and I am not disappointed. I just moved to the area and I was able to get an accommodated for an appointment easily for my sm dog. They were very professional and thorough, asking about my dog. What works and what was good for her to make it a good experience. She was ready exactly when they said she would be. She looked as good as she's ever looked after being groomed. I am very happy to find a place so close to my home that do such a good job. The groomer - Jessica- and I agreed that the dog would be cut similar to previous cuts. However, when I picked up my dog (labradoodle) she was shaved down to an extremely short cut including legs and tail. Claim it was to excessive matting which was false since I comb her and cut out mats at least twice a week. Then they have you pay up front and with the tip it cost $ 150. I asked for a refund and the answer was no refund. So I guess the customer doesn't take priority. I was dog sitting the other day and decided Charley was kinda smelly! So i decided to check out Best Buddy Dog Wash here in Duvall. I've never washed a dog in my life but I was really happy with this place. It's 35$ and you i I can take all day if you want said the manager. Sorry I don't remember her name but she was super nice. She showed me how everything worked. There's 4 settings for different types of wash from gentle to a dirty dirty omg wash(2). Read the directions on the wall!! Don't forget to attach your dog to the short leash! Them once you turn the lever to wash the soap comes out with the water. It's s pleasant 100 degrees so not cold or too warm. There are brushes, washcloths, towels, tear-free facial cleanser and dematting spray to use for free! There are also plastic aprons to wear. Thank god! The hoses go around the tub so you can walk around which is chill. Charley seemed to not mind it one bit! He's soooo sweet. There's a strainer in the drain so you'll have to remove your dogs hair as the water will back up. I toweled him off after then used the dryer which blew cool air. He didn't mind that either! He wasn't completely dry but he runs hot so i I didn't think he'd mind leaving a little damp. The manager (?) had treats for our charley bear which he loved. I enjoyed washing him and Best Buddy made it easier. Yay! read more

Wow! I've NEVER had such a seamless, efficient, enjoyable experience washing my doggy as I had today at Good Karma Dog Spa! Their tubs are at a PERFECT height for comfort (my back was happy!) and the water and all the extras were by far better than I've ever used before, and I've done self-wash at a lot of places. This establishment is amazing! The owner is beyond accommodating - I reached out to her, needing some flexibility to get my dog in sooner than later because of a very sensitive situation and she completely bent over backwards to get us in right away. She has also expanded the spa since she went from a long-term employee to the new owner within the last year I believe. It's absolutely fabulous and they have tons of supplies, toys, treats along with the awesome spa. My situation came on suddenly and has been very emotional and she was incredibly empathetic and to be honest, unexpectedly super comforting. I took my dog to a park, and she had a little too much fun, and she found her own smelly perfume to roll in! I had to fix that! When I arrived, everyone was welcoming and helpful! When I told them I wanted to do a self-service bath, they showed me how to use the dials in the bath, and they even mixed a special shampoo for me to eliminate the odor! While I was bathing my dog, I noticed that they were really sweet to the dogs who were dropped off for grooming. After her bath, I was able to buy some delicious treats for my dog there to reward her for being a good girl. Thanks so much for your help with my baby! We'll be back! read more

The appropriate mix of soap and water comes out of a hose, and the rinse water makes it easy to get that long haired dog rinsed well. And you can top it off with your choice of one of the pleasant-smelling conditioners. Aprons for you, blow drier and towels for your buddy. We have 2 min-schnauzers, both @ 2.5 years old currently and our long-time groomer (we had another schnauzer for 15 years) had retired, leaving us to find another groomer. Good, reliable dog groomers are hard to find. We have/had been using Best Buddy (very close to us) for over 1 year. Our groomer was fantastic, however getting scheduled was a big issue. We arranged one year's appointments in advance - all, we thought, with Best Buddy. Turns out we were mis-informed. Our super great groomer quit @ 2 weeks before our next scheduled appointment. How does this affect us you ask? Best Buddy's groomers are more like independent contractors, so when our great groomer quit, we, and all her other clients were hung out to dry. We were put on a 'wait list' for an opening with another groomer. Two and half months later, a total of 5 months since their last scheduled and completed, grooming. Fast forward - the first grooming session had been so long since the previous session that our pups need a major 'shaving', un-schnauzer like. Our next scheduled appointment came so soon that our guys didn't need grooming, so we cancelled that. Our current appointment scheduled this month happens on an inconvenient date for us so we requested a date next week. NO, the only next opening was in August and we were informed that if we cancelled again we would Not be welcome back. Moral of the story? Be sure who you are doing business with, we thought it was Best Buddy's, but they fooled us. Don't let them fool you too. read more

I recently had a fantastic experience at Best Buddy Dog Wash and will definitely be transferring my grooming needs to this establishment. I have a large English Golden Retriever that I took to have a full grooming. Of course he is shedding like crazy given the time of year but the brush out that they gave him was the best I've ever experienced and the shedding has been significantly reduced as a result. I picked up my dog 2 1/2 hours after dropping him off. He was in great spirits, his fur smelled so good and was as soft as soft can be. Please heed my warning- Do Not get nails done here In mid-December I brought my three dachshunds in for nail trims. All three had been in before. The owner and a staff person did the work. They muzzled my middle dog, that had never previously been done and made not one, but two nails bleed. Debbie did tell me his nails were bleeding, but as I was unable to see what they were doing she left off the fact that they had somehow hurt his back in this process. For three days after his appointment he sat on the couch and shook with fear. Shortly after he began whimpering and limping. I thought perhaps the nail had gotten infected and took him to the vet right away. I found out it was not an infected nail, however his back was inflamed and he was in significant pain and not eating. He was given pain meds that he continues to take two months later. I called the shop to ask if anything unusual had happened and they denied anything to do with his back injury. It is very obvious that it happened during the nail trim, he was fine up until that day, but hasn't been the same since. Best Buddy lost not one, but three customers and I hope this review can save this from happening to others! read more

I tried Best Buddy for the first time today after picking my dog up from boarding. I used the self wash, which doesn't require an appointment. I've never done a self wash for my dog before, but Debbie walked me through the equipment and offered to trim my dog's nails even though I didn't have an appointment. They had 4 different types of shampoo, and separate cleaner for face and ears. I also picked up a brush for a good price (compared to what I paid for a furminator that doesn't work as well) and a new collar. I used the yelp check in coupon so the whole visit was a good value. I could tell that Debbie really cares about her clients so I set up a grooming appt for next month, and if all goes well I'll take her monthly to keep her feeling fresh! So sorry I have to make this review, but I don't want anybody else to experience what I experienced today! The manager cut my dog's nails too short. I came home with my dog only to find a trail of blood on my white carpet. And it wasn't just a little bit of blood! I'm talking spots all over the hall, all over the living room. And in the foyer spots of blood-- one spot even the size of a dime. My poor dog! I might mention that I have a very large dog, so maybe that's why there was more blood? Anyway, I called the store. Manager started to tell me the solution to stop the bleeding(cornstarch) and how to fix the blood stains on the carpet. Please PLEASE don't start with an apology. She didnt apologize UNTIL I was like, "is this normal?" She said she noticed a little bit of bleeding on one of the front paws. I was like, "wow, I'd really wish I got a little heads up before he bloodied up my white carpet." She said she forgot to tell me. I didnt get offered any kind of compensation like a reimbursement or a discount on the service or anything. Btw, The wash was great, just don't ever get your dog's nails trimmed here! My sister in law saw there was actually one hind paw that was also bleeding, not just the one the manager confessed to. read more

While I loved the store and the owner of the store, the Groomer(?) firstly cut my dogs hair down so far that her skin was visible, then claimed tht he was "so matted that she had to cut it down that much." When I shared that she was compeltely mat-free when I brought her in, she basically claimed that I was lying. In that same instance, there had been a large dog that had frightened her to the point where she was shaking violently, but when the groomer came to get her and I had shared why she was so upset, the groomer simply took her without any empathy involved and told me "She'll get over it," and walked off w my scared little dog. The lkack of empathy for my dog was startling especially coming from someone who was "trained" to groom dogs" which itself is stressful for a lot of dogs! I will not go back. read more

Debby and her crew are wonderful. We went in for the first time yesterday and was greeted as soon as we entered. I've spoken with Debby a few times on the phone and we finally made an appointment. She's very knowledgeable and was able to provide us a great deal of information about our pup and it was a fun experience. Debby allowed us to supply our own shampoo, and was patient with our pup since she's not comfortable with the hair dryers yet at her age. I brought Elfie in today for a quick nail trim and anal gland expression. He can be very nervous and as a chihuahua, does not like his nails trimmed. His previous groomings at Petco have been just fine but I work in the area and decided to try Best Buddy since Petco was unable to complete all of Elfie's toes nor get his glands expressed. I found the person working there to be very helpful and gentle with Elfie. She knew just how to pick him up. She took him in back and had assistance from someone else to trim his nails. I could hear that he was scared but that isn't abnormal. The entire processes lasted about 15 minutes. Their prices are very comparable with Petco, in fact I think they charge the same for a nail trim and anal glad expression. Most important to me, they were able to trim all his nails and get his glands expressed. That had been an issue at Petco and I'm glad I've found somewhere that can do it successfully. Elfie waited with his tail wagging as I paid. We will come back to have his nails trimmed and glands expressed monthly, I'm guessing. read more

Brought my young rescue dog Odie here today for his first trip to the groomers because of their high ratings and I am so glad I did!! Odie is a little shy do to not being very socialized yet so we figured this would be a great opportunity for him to meet new people. They totally understood how to treat him and he loved them from the get go!! It took under half an hour for them to wash and trim his feet up and they have such a good price!
