Everytime I come here I see dead fish, as well as the other animals in the store not being taken care of correctly, and if you say anything to the employees they do not seem to care. I do not support this place.

Ella 4 weeks prior to this recent grooming. She had been bathed & brushed out by Forest at 295th st.

My 9 month old Goldendoodle was sent away to have a matted area on her under carriage shaved by a veterinarian. (It was one small mat.) Upon bringing her back four days later per their request (poor choice) they shaved her & took even her beautiful long black eye lashes off. Leaving her hind area & under carriage in flamed & shaved. Upon dropping here she was shaved in her under carriage brushed & brushed to their particulars. This sweetheart deserved a groom It's no wonder 205ths Petco is fully booked & 196th is wide open. Forest we adore at 205th .

Scented collar, not fur. Perfect cuts. Teddy bear look.

We brought Cici (8 yo YoChon F, timid) for her second grooming here. She loved it. Again!! We been here twice and both times we've had a great experience. Mainly, Cici comes out happy to show off, clearly they be been glowing up in the back. I went to a local Bothell groomer recently and paid $120 only to have a dirty and scared dog. Petco is awesome. This Petco has great groomers. They even got us in on Christmas Eve Needless to say, a new Lamby came home too. Like I said. Cici is over the moon and sleeping with her Lamby. She really had fun today. That's the most important. 2nd she's beautiful for Christmas. 3rd. When we were in the store I met the small animal guy and he loved them. He loves them. Finally, I met the on floor and on duty manager. She's maintaining this large store very well. I think, this is a good Petco.

Ran outta dog food & had to make a quick trip, thankfully this location is very close by & reliable with each department being easy to find & locate. * I do disagree with how the prices are for a bag of dog food, $60? For a bag? That's a bit too much but this is the "cheapest" place I could've gone too * I didn't catch her name but the cashier I tonight was friendly & helpful with our checkout process. Overall, cleanest store I've seen & definitely tidier on the shelves without items being misplaced. I'll be going here consistently (unless there is a cheaper option). * My dog is very happy & healthy with the intake of his salmon flavored goodies!

I had a wonderful grooming experience with Jake (JD). I get my pup groomed regularly, but I am new to this Petco location. He's the first groomer to have asked about my pup's medications, if she had any skin conditions, etc. I could tell he really had my pup's best interest in mind and safety was his priority. JD asked what type of cut/style I wanted and he asked for more details which I really appreciated. There have been a few times in the past where I didn't get the look I was hoping for, so I appreciate he clarified so I could have the outcome I wanted :) I stayed for a little bit after handing my pup to JD for her full bath/groom and was able to see her through the grooming window. He was super sweet and gentle when handling my pup. I could tell she was relaxed during her grooming and that JD enjoyed being around my pup as well. Not only did he do a fantastic job with my pup's groom, he also did exactly what I asked for. I'm happy to have met JD and am looking forward to bringing my pup here regularly, even though this location is a bit far for me. Thanks JD!

I am incredibly disappointed with my experience at this Petco in Lynwood. After reading into other people's reviews, it seems this is a common occurrence for grooming at this location and many others have experienced almost the exact same thing I did. If you have a golden doodle, I would steer clear. My golden doodle is 2.5 years old and has been going to the groomers for his whole life (since the moment he was allowed to and fully vaccinated). I have had great experiences with a different Petco but something is seriously going wrong at this Lynwood location. As I dropped off my golden doodle, the groomer had quickly done a pat down and noticed he had some matting which I was fully aware of. He has a very curly coat so occasional matting spots is almost unavoidable in hard to brush areas. The groomer had mentioned possibly needing to shave him down which again, I knew could be a possibility. However, I will say, other groomers have been able to work through those tough spots. About 1 hour after I dropped him off, I got a call from Petco that I needed to pick up my dog. They said that between his toes were pretty matted and he was being sensitive in letting them touch his feet. They recommended I take him to a vet that also does grooming. She mentioned that she had to stop completely and only got through the first initial shave down and was unable to continue on. I have NEVER needed to pick up my dog mid-way in grooming due to his behavior. When I picked him up, not only were his feet, head, AND tail not shaved down, but his entire body had random patches of long hair and a completely uneven shave across. It was a complete hack job that looked like someone cut his hair with a blindfold. I understand if they needed to stay away from his paws, but the least they could have done is try to fix what they already started. There was minimal effort to make it look SOMEWHAT decent. Please see the pictures for reference. I will repeat again, I completely understand a groomer needing to shave down a golden doodle for matting. However, when you make zero effort to make a dog look somewhat normal before handing back to an owner, that is completely unacceptable. I called back to see if they could get us in to finish what they started, but they told me the next opening wasn't for another week. There was no sense of apology or sympathy for the way that whole experience went. Unfortunately, I will no longer be continuing to go to Petco for grooming regardless of a different location. I will be a lot more careful where I take my dog. Hope this saves someone from a bad experience!

Petco Grooming: I have a Samoyed who desperately needed a groom but all of the groomers i checked in with did not have availibity until next month. I try to never bring him to Petco because of all the horror stories i've heard. But this location is amazing! Jake was our groomer and he did a thorough check of my dogs coat and said it was very compacted so there would be a little extra charge which i didnt mind. I'm always terrified that I will come to pick up a shaved dog but i told Jake that my dog might need to be shaved in some spots and his response was "you know what shaving does to them right ?" which i really liked and felt like i had less anxiety knowing they wouldnt be shaving him or using the furminator brush on him. Jake finished the grooming in only 2.5 hours, i was shocked because usually my dog takes 4 hours to groom. I picked him up and the price was very fair and my dog was very happy and clean. Will definitely be coming back! I was so pleasantly surprised~

Bodhi checking out his new lair.

Unbelievably great customer service from Damien and even after I made inappropriate comment about his name and the "dark angel" :( All kidding aside he was truly the most patient and helpful sales person I've encountered in years!!!! Actually, since the days of Nordstrom going all-out with great service!!! I was there nearly 2 hours trying to accomplish a complicated in store pick up. Mission accomplished and I was the problem NOT Petco!! Lol Also the gal at the register that is expecting twins. Very nice.

NOT Petco - Previous groom when he also was shaved for comparison

After suddenly losing one of our dogs in October 2025, our 10 yo Doberman was so heartbroken. He…read morebecame critically ill, resulting in over $5,000 in emergency vet bills and little improvement. We swore to no more dogs but then we saw Mia, a 9-month-old, Doberman puppy found on the street in LA by animal control. Her leg was degloved, necrotic and filled with maggots. She was intercepted by a rehab, received amputation and much needed medical attention. We followed her story for a couple months, hoping she would find a home, but she didn't. Somehow, we caved, did the unthinkable and flew to Los Angeles, scooping her up and driving her back to Washington in a rental car mid-winter. She was terrified, ferrell and full of dominant "spicy" energy so we booked an appointment with one of the top positive-treat-based trainers with reactive-dog expertise in the state, to help us introduce our dogs upon return and it was a disaster. Our senior exploded in pure terror, barking and lunging. She tossed treats; they ignored her. Twenty minutes in she shrugged, said she had "no magic wand," sent us home and refunded half our session. 2 days later she emailed us suggesting we rehome Mia to a foster "for our safety" which felt like a slap in the face. The very next day we thoroughly researched every trainer in Washington, and Nitro K-9 stood head and shoulders above the rest. I emailed Steve and he called back within minutes with genuine understanding, zero judgment, got us in within days and made our 2-hour commute in separate cars well worth it. In the first ten minutes Steve had both dogs calmly obeying, walking together on leash, and listening! He instantly saw what the other trainer missed: our senior was fear-reactive, meaning he was scared. Steve and North have taught us clear communication and connection with our dogs. They've taught us how to properly command quick correction and full attention using high-quality prong collars, like a mother dog's natural nips. No pain, no fear, no endless treats or bribes, just genuine praise, affection, and connection, the way real bonds and parenting work. He showed us how to step into calm leadership so our dogs could relax, trust, and stop carrying the burden themselves. He stayed by our side through every panicked text, every "what now?" and our dog's transformation is nothing short of miraculous. Mia is happy, confident and loves her big brother now. Our senior knows his role and is playing with her like a puppy again. They love each other and actually enjoy being together! If you're a reactive, rescue, fearful or high-drive dog parent, have been let down by "treat-motivated training" and have avoided prong collars because of the myths, you have been misinformed like we were. Don't give up, stop scrolling and call Nitro, I promise you won't regret it! IWe are forever grateful!

Steve and his team saved my dog and I. This is not an exaggeration. I got my cattle dog from a…read morereputable breeder, did the research. I spoke to other cattle dog owners and felt comfortable that this was the breed for me. I had a German Shorthair Pointer before getting Syd and was familiar with dogs that had a high drive. Training Annie (my former GSP) was a cake walk. She was so smart and I made sure she got her exercise(never needed any lures for her obedience*). 3 years after my dog past is when I brought home Sydney (cattle dog) at 8 weeks, she was a smart beautiful puppy and showed so much promise. I started her with puppy training at 12 weeks at a positive reinforcement style training "school". She did great with it at first but over time the novelty of snacks and toys wore off. I wasn't getting answers when at 6 months she became and absolute terror. I was being told that it must be something I was doing wrong, try this "game", avoid this type of contact/activity, exercise her more, more, more! Syd was getting daily walks plus an insane amount of fetch sessions(at times 12 a day), all the toys in the world, all the puzzles and mental stimulation toys/activities, nothing was working and her reactivty was tearing apart out home life. Looking back I can't believe I didn't see it earlier. You mean, stuffing old toilet paper rolls with treats before wrapping them in beach towels then shoving it in box for her to destroy into her own personal one dog confetti party wasn't the magic key to ending her reactivty/anxiety? Weird! It wasn't just her/me that suffered, my boyfriend's dogs were walking in eggshells around her and that was heartbreaking to witness. I was crying on a regular basis knowing I was failing my dog and I was no closer to figuring out how to help my dog. My vet had me put her on meds which didn't seem to do anything but make her sleepy, completely avoiding the problem. I tried another trainer and had them come by the house once a week. The positive reinforcement did not cut it. I was soon approaching the possibility of having to re home my dog. Something I didn't think I could EVER or would EVER consider but I was so far over my head. That's when I found Steve and his amazing team. It was my last ditch effort before finding a new home for Syd. From the reviews and webpage alone I knew this was a no BS route. Unfiltered and not for the faint of heart. At this point I would do anything if it meant keeping my dog. One session with Steve was all it took to understand that this could actually freaking work and I was elated! One of the first thing Steve had us do was get Syd off the meds. I was so happy to do that because it always felt like the lazy answer to a reactive/anxious dog problem. Over time and with hard work, Sydney has come further than I would have ever thought possible. With my voice alone I can have my dog stop mid full force fun for her ball(her favorite thing) and have her come back to me. I trust her and she trust me. She (like most cattle dogs) couldn't give an F less about engaging with any dogs/people outside of her circle, but gone are the days of lunging and barking at anyone who came near. She's no longer wearing a muzzle on a regular basis for vet visits/grooming/etc. Not only did Steve get her mind right, but her body as well. He guided me through the transition to raw food for Sydney. 3 months in and we've noticed a huge difference. She's starting to slim down and her coat is legitimately glistening. The difference in her bowel movements is night and day. I can feel better knowing that she feels better. She's eating real food and will have a healthy life to show for it. Steves passion and love for dogs is evident. You're not wasting your money here and I know that was a fear for me after failed attempts at training elsewhere. Steve empowers YOU through the mantra of "heeling heals" and it truly does. I am beyond grateful and thankful for Steve and his team. Proud to be another Nitro K9 success story.

We reached out to Connie because we were thinking of getting a second dog and wanted to get a "tune up" for Winston before we made that decision. The process to set up the initial meeting was thorough - we filled out an initial form, we talked with someone on the phone and we were provided with material to read before we ever met Connie. We appreciated the documentation as it set reasonable expectations about the process. When Connie came to the house, the first thing she did was ask us about our goals for the training. She's a great listener and really took the time to investigate our situation and ensure she truly understood the issues that we were having. Once she had gotten our story, she explained the root cause of the issues with Winston and educated us on how to better communicate with our dog. There was a lot of useful BarkBusters material that she shared that was specifically relevant to the problems we were having. Once we got past the theory, we did a few different exercises with Winston to put the ideas into practice. We saw an immediate impact with Winston after the first session. We felt more confident once we were equipped with the knowledge and skills to handle the problematic situations. We followed up on the homework that Connie shared and the results only continued to improve in the weeks following our initial visit.
