They emailed me when it was received and then when it was ready for pick up 5/5 6. Then, well I arrived let them know the type of vehicle and I'm here. Well, then the wait, wait wait wait and now it's 25 minutes and still no one coming to the car. I called and then let them know and I waited another 5-7 minutes and someone brought out my order. 2/5. It was hot and my dog was not happy. I recommend the concept and next time I will call to let them know I'm here instead of relying on the app to tell them. Terrible customer service. I bought a fish yesterday, but it was unwell--stuck in one spot, not swimming or eating. When I tried to return it to prevent the situation from getting worse, the associate refused, blaming my water quality, or other fish poking at him, without even testing it. His colleague had tested the water just the day before at the same location and said water quality was perfect. Meanwhile, there was the exact same kind of fish dead in their own tank the next day as you can see in the picture. Instead of being helpful, they just made excuses and gave me a hard time. Very disappointed with my recent visit to Petco grooming. I had an appointment with the same groomer as last time for my 10 lb Maltipoo. The moment she saw my dog, she said, "If she doesn't let me cut her nails, we're canceling." No effort, no patience, no backup--just gave up instantly. Then she told us we should "probably take her to a private groomer." Seriously? So someone else can do it, but you won't even try? That's not what I expect from a so-called professional. She seemed like she didn't even want to be there. If you're going to work with dogs, do it because you care. Not because you're looking for the easiest excuse to say no. This store was new to me, and I won't be back. I mentioned to an employee that the ted eared slider (turtle) they are trying to sell looked stuck underwater next to a hose. They said it always does that, and didn't check. I mentioned that it's heat lamp was not working (maybe why it wasn't basking), and my concern was dismissed. Both the heat lamp and the UVB light (which was too low in power to do anything) were hung much too high to be effective anyway. If you simply read the bulb package, it tells you precisely what distance to position the light. I've had my RES for 30 years, but this is the most BASIC care info. My 9 month old Goldendoodle was sent away to have a matted area on her under carriage shaved by a veterinarian. (It was one small mat.) Upon bringing her back four days later per their request (poor choice) they shaved her & took even her beautiful long black eye lashes off. Leaving her hind area & under carriage in flamed & shaved. We brought Cici (8 yo YoChon F, timid) for her second grooming here. She loved it. Again!! We been here twice and both times we've had a great experience. Mainly, Cici comes out happy to show off, clearly they be been glowing up in the back. I went to a local Bothell groomer recently and paid $120 only to have a dirty and scared dog. Petco is awesome. This Petco has great groomers. They even got us in on Christmas Eve Needless to say, a new Lamby came home too. Like I said. Cici is over the moon and sleeping with her Lamby. She really had fun today. That's the most important. 2nd she's beautiful for Christmas. 3rd. When we were in the store I met the small animal guy and he loved them. He loves them. I had a wonderful grooming experience with Jake (JD). I get my pup groomed regularly, but I am new to this Petco location. He's the first groomer to have asked about my pup's medications, if she had any skin conditions, etc. I could tell he really had my pup's best interest in mind and safety was his priority. JD asked what type of cut/style I wanted and he asked for more details which I really appreciated. There have been a few times in the past where I didn't get the look I was hoping for, so I appreciate he clarified so I could have the outcome I wanted :) I stayed for a little bit after handing my pup to JD for her full bath/groom and was able to see her through the grooming window. He was super sweet and gentle when handling my pup. I could tell she was relaxed during her grooming and that JD enjoyed being around my pup as well. Not only did he do a fantastic job with my pup's groom, he also did exactly what I asked for. I took my dog in to get groomed and realized his rabies was a month late so they could not take him, which is fine. The girl at the desk said he would need a but shave before they could take him as well. I rescheduled, for the next Tuesday. I took him in and they said I was 15 minutes late and could not take him. They also said I would need to have him completely shaved by a vet before they would take him. Maybe they only give baths! Why was I not told the first time, when the girl said he only needed a butt shave. I did not reschedule. read more

I am incredibly disappointed with my experience at this Petco in Lynwood. After reading into other people's reviews, it seems this is a common occurrence for grooming at this location and many others have experienced almost the exact same thing I did. If you have a golden doodle, I would steer clear. My golden doodle is 2.5 years old and has been going to the groomers for his whole life (since the moment he was allowed to and fully vaccinated). I have had great experiences with a different Petco but something is seriously going wrong at this Lynwood location. As I dropped off my golden doodle, the groomer had quickly done a pat down and noticed he had some matting which I was fully aware of. He has a very curly coat so occasional matting spots is almost unavoidable in hard to brush areas. The groomer had mentioned possibly needing to shave him down which again, I knew could be a possibility. However, I will say, other groomers have been able to work through those tough spots. About 1 hour after I dropped him off, I got a call from Petco that I needed to pick up my dog. They said that between his toes were pretty matted and he was being sensitive in letting them touch his feet. They recommended I take him to a vet that also does grooming. She mentioned that she had to stop completely and only got through the first initial shave down and was unable to continue on. I have NEVER needed to pick up my dog mid-way in grooming due to his behavior. When I picked him up, not only were his feet, head, AND tail not shaved down, but his entire body had random patches of long hair and a completely uneven shave across. It was a complete hack job that looked like someone cut his hair with a blindfold. I understand if they needed to stay away from his paws, but the least they could have done is try to fix what they already started. There was minimal effort to make it look SOMEWHAT decent. Please see the pictures for reference. I will repeat again, I completely understand a groomer needing to shave down a golden doodle for matting. However, when you make zero effort to make a dog look somewhat normal before handing back to an owner, that is completely unacceptable. I called back to see if they could get us in to finish what they started, but they told me the next opening wasn't for another week. There was no sense of apology or sympathy for the way that whole experience went. Unfortunately, I will no longer be continuing to go to Petco for grooming regardless of a different location. I will be a lot more careful where I take my dog. Hope this saves someone from a bad experience! read more

I scheduled a bath and nail trim for my dog. When my husband arrived he was told that because my dog takes arthritis medication he would have to reschedule, with my dog being off her meds for 24 hours. They would then trim her nails to see how she does with that, before giving her a bath. So fast forward to today, I call Petco to let them know we would prefer for her to have a bath, since she is ok with bathing, but trimming her nails makes her more anxious. I was told that they were only doing her nails today, and if she was ok with that they would schedule a bath. They do not have time for a bath today, and since she is a senior, and a new dog with them this is what needs to be. We were under the impression that she would be getting a bath and a nail trim today. I asked to cancel the appointment, the main reason for the appointment was for a bath. She said she would cancel the appointment. I then started to ask another question and she (the manager!!!) hung up on me. My dog had services at this petco before (5 or 6 years ago) and my dog did not have any issues. I would not recommend using this store for any services, since they are not interested in being helpful at all. read more

Petco Grooming: I have a Samoyed who desperately needed a groom but all of the groomers i checked in with did not have availibity until next month. I try to never bring him to Petco because of all the horror stories i've heard. But this location is amazing! Jake was our groomer and he did a thorough check of my dogs coat and said it was very compacted so there would be a little extra charge which i didnt mind. I'm always terrified that I will come to pick up a shaved dog but i told Jake that my dog might need to be shaved in some spots and his response was "you know what shaving does to them right ?" which i really liked and felt like i had less anxiety knowing they wouldnt be shaving him or using the furminator brush on him. Jake finished the grooming in only 2.5 hours, i was shocked because usually my dog takes 4 hours to groom. I picked him up and the price was very fair and my dog was very happy and clean. My puppy had appointment with them @4:15pm . At 3:38 pm I called them and let them know that I would be 15 late and they said if I could get there by 4:20 they would take my puppy. I agreed and was hurrying myself to get through the traffic. I got at the parking at 4:18 then took my dog in at 20. Instead just checking me in to save time, KELLY (the lazy blonde stylist) told me she only can do bath for my corgi only not haircut because they close at 6pm! WTH so why didn't you tell me on the phone that you want to reschedule or cancel it. Then if you need to be out by 6pm then why you still opened the schedule at 4:15 for people to book. They told me that the bath and haircut need to take 3 hrs then WTH last time my corgi got serviced from them and only took 1hr.. they said they fired the guy who did on my corgi this week because he was bad.. oh Hell so now I feel bad for all the puppies and customers be we are like their experiment for them to check if their stylists good or bad. And Sorry they think customers are stupid, how long to do haircuts for corgi. They just need trimming not even full haircuts even the price it for full. I have been going here since I was a kid and never had a specific, stand-out experience that was notable enough to write about, but recently I did, and it's worth a review. I came in with no particular intentions other than to window shop and look at all of the cute hamsters they had in store. So many cute hamsters, and although we already had one at home, one is never enough. That being said, we were just looking around for fun. Until one of the employees, Tea, brought to our attention that there were more hamsters that hasn't been put out yet and kindly allowed us to view them. We fell in love with one of the hamsters there, particularly my sister did. I want to emphasize the experience we had with Tea, and how she engaged with us. Tea talked with such genuine passion and love for the animals, and it shows how well-educated and driven she was. She conversed about her personal experiences and how she loves that we were similar in essence. Sparked by this sudden persuasion and yearning to gain a new hamster, we were deciding when she helped us out tremendously. Tea is not just a great employee, but she is someone who knows what they're doing and has you wanting to come back just so you can talk about pets to. If you're at this location, I'd definitely keep an eye out for someone named Tea. read more

I called because they advertise vet services. They don't have any information regarding those "services". I was referred to a website for Vetco Clinics. It is set-up so that I could only see this mystery vet on Sunday...after scheduling an online appointment. How convenient! The pricing is not clearly displayed. I had to drill down to find it. My regular vet charges $28.00 for one Bordadello vaccination. After I was finally able to find their prices, I learned that Vetco Clinics charges $42.00 for the same vaccination...and only if you can make it on Sunday. Avoid Vetco Clinics...unless you enjoy paying a lot more...? read more

Lynnwood petco has been grooming my dog for years, probably since 2015. She is the easiest, and the most docile dog in the world and always got praises from the groomers before. However, today, they turned my dog away, because she might be a liability for them for being old and has hip dysplasia. She has had the same problem since 2015, and they just gave her a bath last month and took our money with no problem. But today, she was deemed undesirable. Throughout the years, we've spent thousands of dollars in Lynnwood and Bothell petco between baths, expensive dog food, treats, toys. Sorry, this cold corporation has completely lost our business. I can't even begin to explain my disgust with the grooming services our dog received from this Petco location. We recently moved to Edmonds and with most groomers in the area booked out for months, we scheduled a groom with Petco basically out of desperation as our Goldendoodle was starting to get matted. We realized that he would likely need to be shaved and (mistakenly) felt like that wasn't something a groomer could mess up. About 30 mins into the groom, we got a call that he was ready to be picked up - which was a red flag in and of itself. When we inquired about it having only been 30 mins, we were told that he was "moving his head" too much for it to be groomed and that they had to leave it. When pressed further they told us that his behavior was such that we should look into a groomer with a vet on site to help control him. Bear in mind, our dog is 3 years old and was on an 8-week schedule with his old groomer. That's works out to nearly 20 grooms in his lifetime with zero complaints (which includes both clipper grooms and being shaved). When I went to pick him up, what I saw looked like it bordered on animal abuse. Not only was his head not cut (per what they had told us on the phone) but the following also occurred: - No bath - No brush out - Feet left practically untouched with clumps of hair just hanging off - literally look like Grinch feet - Hack job on the body shaving - completely uneven and clumps of hair again just hanging off in places - Ears looked like they had been attempted to be shaved but had just given up midway through - yet again chunks of hair hanging off - Hair is just falling off of him as he walks around our house - we brushed him down gently (considering you can see pink skin in places) and gathered an entire pile of loose hair that was clinging to his body - He is incredibly itchy, stressed, and was whimpering on the way home which I have NEVER experienced before after picking him up from grooming When I asked what happened to him, I received NO apology and instead was told curtly that it was what is called a "preshave". Again, this is a dog that has been groomed frequently throughout his life and I have never seen him come out looking remotely close to this absolute mess. The woman also felt the need to tell me "I didn't do anything to your dog" - well yes, you certainly did not groom him, that is for sure. I'm not sure what kind of experience or credentials are required to be a groomer at this Petco location, but safe to say we could have done a better job at home. I wouldn't take my dog back here for a groom if someone paid me. read more

This Petco is generally pretty good for getting insects for my lizard, but two separate issues occurred last Saturday that made me not want to return. For one, one of the employees had their mask around their chin, which isn't acceptable. For another, we noticed that one of the leopard gecko tanks had absolutely no substrate, and had at least ten stools (feces) in it, meaning it hadn't been cleaned for at least that long (stools should be removed daily. We brought our dog for a normal grooming appointment only to find out that the groomer at Petco cut our dog on her left leg. We got a call from the groomer noting that she was rushed to the vet hospital to get stitches, but didn't even specify which hospital, so we were already frustrated with the poor communication. We understand that accidents happen, but we were so disappointed in Petco that this happened. Our dog dealt with the pain for two weeks and had to wear a cone to heal from the injury. Although they covered all of the vet expenses, it was definitely something that never should have happened. They told us that the person that was cutting our dog's hair was one of their experienced dog groomers, so we were a bit confused as to why this even happened. On top of all of this, our dog's grooming was never completed. Her head and face weren't trimmed, and we never got a courtesy call from Petco about any follow up when her stitches got removed. Nearly three hours later, I got a call asking if I was my dog's vet because she had been injured and "they were calling 7 or 8 places but weren't able to find anyone to see her". I went to pick her up and her back left paw was caked in blood and still bleeding. She had not even been bathed and only had a portion of her torso groomed which means she had been sitting there bleeding for most of the time she was there! I get mistakes happen but I should have been notified right away instead of called ON ACCIDENT. I called Petco to get answers as to why the situation had been handled so poorly. We had been taking our 2 dogs here for almost 4 years and have always had an amazing experience. After every visit we had been told our dogs did great. This location's grooming shut down for some time, maybe 6 months. Now that they have all new groomers, we thought it'd be great to set them up an appointment. Just now, the night before their appointment, their text message alerts Cancelled their appointments. So I called in, and was told that our dogs had been "REFERRED OUT" apparently meaning that there had been numerous complaints about our dogs from their past team of groomers?! This was news to us and has me very very confused. I'm very disappointed in how this was communicated, now or in the past if such incidents actually occured or if groomers felt unsafe with our little dogs they seemed to love so much, and concerned about the way their current model is managed. Moving forward, I never will again. My dog Lucy had some matting so they told me they're going to have to shave her all the way down which is understandable. I get a call during the grooming saying, "We ran into an an issue, her feet are too matted to continue so we have to stop, but we shaved the rest of her body." I said, "that's fine, as long as the rest of her body is shaved." I show up, and like you see in the pictures below, she still has all her hair on her head, and patches all around her body. I told the groomer manager that I understand if they couldn't do the feet because they deemed it unsafe, however what does that have to do with the head? They could have trimmed down the head but they obviously didn't want to. I've taken Lucy to get groomed multiple times and never had an issue. I spoke with the store manager and they did nothing. I went to lynnwood petco today, as i'm walking down the fish isle i see a tank full of dead fish just floating into the filtration and on the bottom of the tank. all the surrounding fish who were still alive were all crowded in the corner so they didn't have to sit next to the decaying fish. I walked up to one of the employees and asked if they could explain the situation of the fish and they claimed it was because they didn't have enough staff to clean the tank everytime a fish died, which i understand, i guess. But they could ATLEAST remove the carcasses. I was very upset and appalled to see this, probably not as appalled as the baby who was right next to me. This has to be animal abuse, i'm not trying to bash PetCo, but this certain situation was absolutely unbelievable, and genuinely so sad to see. read more

I have been trying to get my 11.5 year old beagles nails trimmed since moving back to WA and haven't had much luck. I tried calling twice on my way home to see if they were taking walk ins, but the grooming dept wasn't picking up. I decided to drop in since I would pass it on our way home anyway. We were greeted as soon as we entered and at first the salon looked closed. I soon saw someone sitting at the check in desk and I will say, he didn't seem too thrilled to see us walk up. I had taken Nala to Petco while living in CA and thankfully the systems are connected so he was able to pull up my information. While he was entering the rabies info, Jeremy (I would later find out was the manager) came over to greet Nala and was very sweet with her. JD printed some pages for me to sign and asked if Nala was on any meds or had any health issues. She's had a heart murmur since she was young but has started taking meds for it within the last 5 years. It hasn't been an issue before but I was told he wouldn't be able to trim her nails due to the murmur. I understand their reasoning but at the same time, I was surprised they wouldn't be able to do a nail trim where I would be standing a few feet away. He recommended a vet nearby which I had gone to in the past and we didn't have a good experience with. He said he would check with his manager to confirm murmurs was one of the medical conditions they had to turn away pets for. That's when Jeremy returned to check on the site. The system wasn't working and he turned to JD after 10 mins and said since it's a nail trim and I'll be there, to do it this time and they will look into it more so they had an answer for us the next time. I can't tell you how much I appreciated this! JD was very good with Nala and she was done by the time I returned from paying. I'm hopeful we will be able to return to get Nala's nails trimmed again, but I'm nervous her age and murmur will leave us looking for another groomer. read more

charging 5.99 for supplies, you have to be kidding me !!! Dropped off my 18 lb dog for just a bath this morning and when I went to pay they had added an extra $5.99 on top of the $ 39.00 charge I had agreed to. Been using this PETCO for over 10 years and never been charged for shampoo and will never go back. This charge WAS NOT shared with me before hand, a bit crooked, and it takes just s few drops to wash a small dog. My English Bulldog, Dozer, visited the grooming salon in the Lynnwood, WA Petco store today. I arrived early to pick him up from his appointment where I saw Dozer through the glass and took a couple photos of him and then witnessed his groomer stepped away and left him unattended where he fell off the grooming table. Since I had my phone out taking photos of him, I was able to capture the moment he fell off. He weighs 50lbs and was approximately 4-5 feet off the ground on a small grooming table and only had a small chain around his neck connecting him to the table. This is unacceptable behavior and I can only imagine that if this irresponsible pet treatment is happening where pet owners and shoppers are able to see that there is far worse treatment occurring in the back of the salon where the majority of the grooming occurs. I immediately alerted the grooming staff of what I saw (along with the photos I had taken) and they were immediately apologetic but also quick to say that it is against their policy to leave a dog unattended and that they were right next to dozer the entire time even though I had photos to prove this was not the case. I am an avid Petco shopper and spend approximately $150 a month at Petco on Dozer's food, treats, grooming, teeth cleaning, collars, toys, etc but will not spend a dollar there again. read more

This is coming from a cat customer. I don't even have a dog anymore. I am not in the market for any kind of caged or tanked animal, so I am not even counting any of that stuff in my review. Not even the dog grooming. I am generally a Mud Bay guy. They suit my temperament and fit with my understanding of how to keep pets healthy. But Petco is always a more than adequate second choice, and being up in Snoho, they're the main choice. They're a bit cheaper than MB, and they stock a ton of different things. MB certainly has the right food for almost any conceivable dietary permutation your pets might have, but Petco does a great job giving you options in organic and gluten-free cat food. Both canned and bagged get the full selection. The staff is friendly and they seem to work hard whenever I see them. They're nice. They're all stoked about animals, and they like talking about them. I've never had to work to get a question answered. In a lot of ways, from the outside, Petco can look like an anonymous chain. But I think they're really working at doing it the right way, and I don't feel bad giving them my money. read more
