Definitely doggie friendly, but I would really like a place that has the human pet parents in mind. As a dog mom I would like a place that has items for me also like: coffee with creamers available and treats for the human pallet also (cookies, cupcakes, muffins etc. There could be a glass front fridge with different drinks available. There is no restaurant right next door and my bet is it isn't up for small orders at cash register. It doesn't look like there is even a credit card machine to pay for any items you might want. read more

After reading reviews of other dog bakeries, I kept noticing a pattern of 'I wish I had gone to The Dining Dog instead.' Fortunately, I listened to those reviews and went straight to The Dining Dog when Scrappy's 14th birthday rolled around. The Dining Dog is owned and operated by Dorothy. After spending a few minutes with her, it is obvious that dogs are her true passion. That passion shows in her product and the long relationships she's developed with her clients (both two and four legged). In addition to her special bakery orders, Dorothy offers a four course meal for your friend or if you prefer, an a la carte menu. From the little treat Scrappy tried out, I was impressed (and a bit jealous). There is definitely a little bit of love in every bite. We are looking forward to coming back in a few weeks and trying out a full four course meal! read more

My elderly, sick pup and I had the best day at The Dining Dog. My pup loved the food! He scarfed down every nibble. Dorothy, the owner, was accommodating and loving to my dog. She made sure that my dog was comfortable and had a very special dining experience. Her kindness has made a really difficult time a little easier. She is genuine and kind and loves dogs! I highly recommend The Dining Dog for all the big moments in your dog's life. read more

My dogs celebrated their 2nd birthday this last week, so I began researching dog bakeries and was thrilled when I found this place with such high ratings. Good thing I checked their hours on Yelp, because I almost drove 45 minutes to take my dogs to The Dining Dog on their birthday. Yelp said they were open Thursday- Saturday. Knowing that most businesses don't reply to inquiries on Yelp, I took to google in an attempt to try and find an email or website to email the business and ask about reservations, and a couple other questions that could have easily been answered on a website, but the website I found wasn't even active. My next attempt was to try Facebook. Sending my message, I asked my questions and patiently waited. With no response. They read my message but couldn't bother to answer my questions? I was already pretty turned off by this. But ask asked again, and pointed out that I could see my message was read, but never got a response. Finally, 3 days later and I get a horribly written response with one excuses after another as to why they read my message but never responded. And even more frustrating, my original questions weren't even acknowledged. Turns out though, they're only open 1 day a week, which is fine. But it doesn't match ANYTHING on Yelp, Google or Facebook and it took them half a week just answer THAT question. I won't be driving the distance to bring my dogs here because I'm so disappointed by the lack of customer service this place has. I'm not sure how this place has such high ratings when they are so hard to get ahold of and further more, ignore you, take days to respond and when they do, don't bother to answer all your questions. I will avoid this place. Since leaving my feedback, the owner decided to spill all her personal issues out as excuses as to why they can't reply to a couple questions. Sounds messy and VERY unprofessional. read more

The Dining Dog Cafe and Bakery is not a place where one goes to eat (or bake) dogs, fortunately. It's a restaurant FOR dogs, run BY dogs. Even the waiters are dogs and they bring you the food by pulling a little cart out to your table. Okay, that part isn't true. But it would be a classic idea, so hey, Dining Dog people - make that happen. Anyway, the place is set up like a quaint little French bistro of some sort. They've got linen table cloths, nice place settings and very cozy decor. It's very sweet, and believe me, that's tough for me to say. They have leash tie-ups at each table so you can keep your dog still if they're a little excited. And if they're anything like my dog when he gets around other dogs and/or delicious treats, they will be. The waitress, who also happens to be the owner, will bring all the dogs at the table water and then start bringing out the appetizers. We had the "cheesy hot dogs", and I'm guessing by Elvis's reaction that they were pretty tasty. Not that I'd know. Okay, fine, I ate one. At some point, you just choose a meal off the menu and order. It's a bit hard to keep a straight face through this process, especially when the waitress asks "What will Elvis be having tonight". *eyeroll* Well, generally he eats anything I drop on the floor, so what do you got? Elvis did end up having the chicken pot pie, and he seemed sated. The food is all dog-friendly and healthy - lots of veggies and pretty easy on their stomachs. It's shockingly cheap, too. Elvis had an app, his entree and desert, and it cost me a whopping $10. They have a little dog bakery in the cafe as well, and she'll bring around the desert tray at the end so you can order some dog pastries. It's the same kind of thing they've got downtown at the dog bakery near the market, but I actually thought these were a little higher quality. So if you're looking to do something nice for your dog on his or her birthday, I recommend you take a trip north to Edmonds. It's a little out of the way, but I assure you that you're dog will be ecstatic. Keep in mind that it's only open from 3pm-7pm, Tuesday through Saturday. We had a group of about six dogs, so we called ahead for a reservation. Oh, they don't serve food for people there, but you can get human food at the restaurant next door and bring it in. Something about health code violations keeps them from preparing dog food and people food together. Blasted health department......always ruining my good times. read more

Bored with dog parks and doggie meet ups? Feel like some special time with your special four legged friend? Hey, what could be cuter than a doggy cafe. Not only that, the dogs will absolutely love it. You just know that they aren't advertising properly because this place should be packed. It is canine heaven and that family member who can't really sit at the table and really isn't suppose to beg is really getting their moment. Lots of people who love their dogs go there but because it is so cute, there should be lots more. This is fun, very much silly and just something you and your favorite companion animal should rush out and do. The decor is really quite nice-french bistro, tablecloths, etc. Just grab Fido and go. Didn't Shakespeare say every dog would have his day? This is it! read more

This is not your traditional restaurant. It caters to our best friends -- dogs. The owner, Dorothy Moore, provides first class service to our loved ones while they enjoy doggie cocktails, like the barkarita, appetizers, entree and dessert -- all served on gold chargers! With chandeliers on the ceiling, white table cloths, you and your dog are seated together for a true dining experience. While USPH restrictions prohibit Dorothy from human food preparation, she has menus to several restaurants in the complex & she will place your order & even pick it up for you while you and your pet enjoy this delightful bonding experience. My dog Peanut gets so excited when we pull into the parking lot he is ready to jump out of the car before I can park it. He loves visiting "Auntie Dorothy". Special events are a real treat. Some of the events that The Dining Dog has hosted include a Valentine's Day party complete with a professional Elvis impersonator seranading the dogs, a Doggie Cocktail Party to kick off the Summer, Mother's Day Brunch, and so many more. Many events are connected with proceeds going to support no-kill shelters, and other canine organizations. A groomer by trade, Dorothy has the biggest heart for our beloved babies. She is the first groomer that my Peanut doesn't fear. If you visit the Seattle area, call the Dining Dog for your reservation for a special outing with your best friend. Details can be found on the website: diningdog.com. read more

Such a fun and novel idea. This doggie cafe is proof that Firdale Village has gone to the dogs, but in a good way! The pups get treated to a four-course meal and doggie cocktails. The atmosphere is pleasing, and although the dog's people aren't served, there are plenty of options for take-out food. read more

Went to a birthday partyu there with my Shelties - thought it would going to be goofy silly, but it was a great time. The owner is such a happy person, and loves the dogs - everything about the place was for the dogs. Don't panic if your dog jumps on the tables, they are allowed to, and I *do not know* how they know that! My dogs have tons of obedience in their history, do not even beg when we have company over for dinner, and my dog jumped up on a chair, waited a moment, then next thing you know had climbed up onto the table, lol and there was not even food there! It was so nice, they had a low piece of furninture for my old dog to be fed at because she could not sit in a chait at the table , and a waitress fed her because I was busy breaking up dinner for my cleft palate dog who has to eat carefully. He thought he had died and gone to doggy heaven, he never gets cool stuff, but darn it, I was going to let him enjoy this birthday party : ) Yeah, he snorked and snuffled a little, but I get the feeling he thought it was worth it : ) So for a more serious dog person to end up being enthralled, it was pretty neat experience : ) 8 people and 11 dogs laughing it up and having "cocktails" (dogs two choices, humans got sparkling apple juice I think it was). Cool little dog supply store next door too, awesome supply of interactive dog games among other things..... read more

JiJi and I have been going here for the past 2 years to celebrate both our birthdays together. We're from Shelton, and we don't mind the drive. In fact, we now have made this a tradition to go there and celebrate US! The drive is so worth it! :) Dorothy is AWESOME and a WONDERFUL host! I love how she decorated the diner--really cute!!! She's great with all the dogs (and humans too). And, her food I'm assuming is just delish! JiJi is a very picky shih tzu/chihuahua when it comes to food, and she just devours every bite! And, JiJi also loves the tini that Dorothy makes for her! Yum, yum! Thank you!!! read more

This is a really fun occasional thing to do with your dog. Dorothy is great she is super friendly and high energy and a whole doggie 4 course meal is only $10. You can order food from restaurants nearby such as Venice Pizza which i think is not bad! Great idea for your dogs birthday! read more

We have been going to the dining dog since around when they opened, staff is always friendly and always willing to help us. We have had many complications with our one dog and they would spend hours at a time talking with us about which is the best diet for our dogs. They were willing to help us choose the best treats for them from their doggie cafe as one of our dogs has allergies. Amongst all this COVID-19 chaos we stocked up on food but started to run low and the staff at the dining dog were happy to fulfill a curbside pickup for us, I didn't even have to get out of my car as they simply put it in my car for me. We love this place and so do our doggies!!! read more

This place is the BEST. I found Dorothy in 2009 when I moved back to Washington. She made my dogs birthday cake. the next year we had his party at the diner. the dogs had a great time. Dorothy always makes it fun and interesting. I have couples massage, birthday dinners, (mine and the dogs) or even just picked up takeout for my little one. I can't say enough about this special place and this special lady. Were having my Martin's 5th birthday party this year and it will be a doozie. Thanks Dorothy All Paws Up! read more

This is an awesome restaurant for your fur-babies!! They owner is very nice and friendly. I went here for my sister's dog party and all the dogs that went seem to have a blast. They serve a 3 meal course, and it comes out looking very beautiful. The owner and the other waitress did a great job of going out of her way to help make the fur-babies comfortable. They even remembered all the names of the dogs that came out to the party. Over all a fun experience for the fur-babies. I would definitely have my dog's party here!! They also host a few different events for dogs. Cant wait to have my fur-babies attend one of their events! read more

Simply put, this place is awesome! I have brought all 3 of my little dogs for events and lunch and they all have a great time. The decor is very creative and designed to allow you to truly enjoy a meal next to your pup. The food for people is made in the restaurant upstairs, but the owner was gracious enough to offer to pre-order it for us or go get it. I actually didn't order human food, mostly because juggling an Italian Greyhound, a Pomeranian and a Chihuahua is hard enough (especially when they want their sisters food); but those that did order human food said it was good. The owner, Dorothy is great with all the dogs. She comes around and individually serves each one and helps them relax with belly rubs and kisses. :) My girls just love her! The prices are very reasonable $10 for most 5 course meals and she has a cookie, biscotti and donut case that you can buy from too (around $1-3 each). read more

I went there for my dogs Birthday and Dorthy the owner treated us like Royalty! She loves animals! You can tell she is doing this out of the kindness of her heart. I decided to take Simon and Mojo to The Dining Dog because it was Simon's belated birthday. Dorothy was catering that day but she took time out of her busy schedule to prepare a meal for Simon and Mojo. Since Simon's belated birthday we returned to The Dining Dog for Valentines Day, Mojo's birthday, St. Patrick's Day and Easter. Simon and Mojo go wild when they see the plates, all the dogs I've seen at the restaurant love the food. Dorothy goes around the restaurant interacting with all the dogs; it's obvious that she does what she does because she loves it and not because it's the "in" thing. She really cares about her customers. The Dining Dog is a great place for dogs to meet other dogs. There are no complaints everything about this place is perfect. read more

Grroming was terrible on my two shelties. She left a bunch of soap in their fur and then they had mats. She refuses to refund our money.

WOW! who would have thought going to a dog restaurant could be so much fun! We have 3 dogs, they all had a blast! You get several courses of food, like doggy cocktails, and dog meat and veggies, they also got a tray of desert to choose from, you can also pre order dog birthday cakes. I don't know what this Christina V is talking about, but I have known Dorothy for a very long time. She is the best groomer I know of and I have been to several groomers. She loves animals and she would never ever hurt an animal intentionally. This woman said these things about Dorothy without knowing Dorothy. If what this woman is saying about her dog is true, I know Dorothy, she would do everything in her power to make it right. Dorothy's place she is talking about is her home which is adorable and very clean. Dorothy does soooooooo much for the dogs and their owners and doesn't charge them. You are never going to find a most caring, loving, giving and sincere person than Dorothy. If you have a dog, you must go to The Dining Dog. You and your dog will love it. Your dog will get the red carpet treatment you can count on it.I can go on and on, but you have to meet Dorothy and make a reservation at the Dining Dog. I go to the Dining Dog often and have had every one of my dog's birthday party's there and my dog is 9 yo. Dorothy has many talents and takes pride in everything she does. Hi there. I have been here, several times, with Winston, the Pug. We love it. It is the most fun. Dorothy is a great hostess, as well as her staff. I wish she had the time to open more cafes so we can go out more often. The food looks good enough for me to eat but Winston beats me to it. He is even allowed to walk on the table, which is not allowed at home. It is a lot of fun. Try to get there. Really.
