I've used baba Lu's for a few of my visits and it's been a mixed bag. My dog was fine at the meet and greet and 2 of the bookings, my dog was fine and staff were nice. 2 of the other times I had issues with my dog - once he came back with two chipped teeth and 6 dime to quarter sized scabs from an altercation, and the other time he needed to visit the emergency vet due to swelling of his male appendage and extreme redness/sores around his genitals. For the latter booking, I find it odd that the caretakers did not notice this as two different vets said it was obvious it had been out for a while. To me, it seems like the caretakers are not watching the dogs as attentively as they should. If something was odd, I should've been contacted but wasn't. After the whole situation at the emergency vet happened, the owner of Baba lu's (Lori) seemed indifferent about the situation. My partner also noticed distressed barking one time when I was picking up my dog but shrugged it off. I won't be back especially after this last emergency vet visit and the lack of observation. Use your own judgement - I shouldn't have used baba Lu's after the first incident. Some other info: Lori will offers trazodone to dogs that have anxiety - I had to specifically mention not to use it as she's not a vet. It's odd that a dog boarder/day care would offer this medication that requires a prescription and that if a dog wasn't a fit, they wouldn't be allowed. Baba Lu's does not offer any refunds but provides credits with at least 2 weeks notice only if they can fill the spot. Any notice less than 2 weeks has a cancellation fee and it's usually 3 days. Weekday drop off is 7-10am with no weekend morning drop offs. Pickup is up to 9pm. There's a $45 charge for day care if you don't pickup before 10am. otherwise $60 for boarding a night. Venmo (not using goods and services) seems to be the preferred way for payment. Lori will not show you where dogs sleep during the temperament visit nor is she willing to send pictures of your pet during boarding as it is "confidential". Again, I do not recommend Baba Lu's Playhouse.

From the very beginning, Tim and Keiko were incredibly responsive and professional. They took the time to meet with us in person beforehand to make sure it was a great fit and to fully understand what we needed to feel comfortable leaving our home and pets in their care. During our trip, Keiko took amazing care of our golden retriever and two cats, as well as our home. She sent frequent updates and lots of pictures of our happy, relaxed pets, which gave us so much peace of mind while traveling. It was clear that Keiko genuinely loves animals. We came home to a spotless house and very happy animals. As if that wasn't enough, Keiko even left homemade dog treats in our freezer -- above-and-beyond! We couldn't recommend Fur Babies House and Petsitting more highly. If you're looking for reliable, communicative, and truly caring house and pet sitters, Keiko and Tim are the best. When I first walked in to this store, the customer service guy was on the telephone, but he came and found me in the aisle that I was in within a few minutes, with a big friendly smile and an offer to help me find anything that I was looking for. I told him that I'd like to buy some treats and toys for my cat, and he directed me to the cat section, then told me to let him know if I needed any more help. Quite a bit of this lovely store is devoted to doggos, but there is a substantial section devoted to cats as well. I have the best cat, and I was happy with the treats and toys available for him at Sam's. I took a photo of everything that I ended up purchasing except for a last-minute find - a fake peacock feather for just 1 dollar and 49 cents! What an excellent value. The cat treats and toys were a good value as well, especially for the high quality of most of the ingredients in the treats. Imagine my surprise when reading the ingredient list for the Cat Lobster Treats when I found out that actual Lobster is one of the ingredients in the treats! Tuna was the first ingredient in the Lobster treats, and my cat, Benjamin Kitty, loves tuna. Hopefully he likes these treats, I haven't given him one yet. I was also happy to see that Sam's had the Salmon-flavored Greenies Dental Cat Treats. My cat likes these treats, and the ones that I have at home recently expired. I feed him treats that are helpful for him to pass furballs, and I also feed him the Greenies treats that help with his dental health. Then there are the treats that I feed him just because he loves them. I used to play with my rescue cat every day or almost every day for the first couple of years that I had him, but I haven't been doing play time with him quite that often lately. I've gotten into watching some of Jackson Galaxy's Cat Videos on YouTube recently, and I am reading one of his books right now as well. He says, "Play with Your Cat, Play with your Cat, Play with Your Cat." My cat is extremely athletic, so he really does need frequent play time. When I got home today, I tried out the peacock feather cat toy with Benjamin Kitty for our interactive play time. He really went after this toy, as you can see in the photo. I think it is good for him to have a play time right before I feed him, which I did today and which I will be doing almost every day moving forward, since cats are natural hunters and they are biologically wired to exercise their hunting instincts prior to eating. Cats also tend to naturally hunt close to dusk, so I am going to try to time his play times for around that time moving forward, if possible. The gentleman who helped me at Sam's was understandably a bit frustrated because the computer system there was down today, so he actually had to write down every purchase of mine by hand! I felt badly for him! What an annoying thing to have happen. However, he was also fairly good-natured about this as well, and I was very happy overall with his customer service. The store also smelled really nice when I walked into it, which surprised me. It was a very faint citrus smell. This store does sell a collection of air purification items for pet homes, including sprays, candles, and hanging air fresheners, so perhaps one or more of these products is being used in the store. I don't think I've ever been so pleasantly surprised by the smell of a pet store before... usually they smell like cat and dog food, not an unpleasant smell but not necessarily a super lovely one for humans either. I would definitely return to this store again to buy my cat a few more toys. I really don't think that he can ever have too many new toys (well, within reason, of course), and he tends to be more interested in newer toys, overall. It's so important for my cat's physical and emotional health to prioritize interactive play time with him, and to occasionally buy him new and interesting toys to switch it up. I was happy with my experience at Sam's today, and I am especially happy that Benjamin Kitty liked one of his new Sam's toys so much!

I wish I could give no stars to this dishonest business…read more I hired Djog after another dog running service gave my house key to a brand new employee without telling me (yikes!), and I was really hopeful this would be a good match. I met the owner, Trista, who promised to run my dog for 30 minutes a couple times a week. So far, so good. A couple of weeks in, I was at work when I got a notification that my dog was out of the house (she has Tagg GPS after an escape and it alerts me when she's out for her run). I was bored and decided to live vicariously through her and clicked the "track" option to see what fun she was having. Imagine my surprise as I watched Trista sloooooowly walk my dog basically around the block in 30 minutes (up a couple blocks, over one, and back home). Definitely not the 30 minute run I was paying for and my dog was expecting! But, I didn't want to jump to any conclusions. It was a warm day. My dog (a lab/chow mix) is fluffy and needs to lose weight due to steroids for allergies. Maybe she got hurt. Maybe Trista got hurt. There could be all sorts of reasons why she wasn't able to run that day. So I sent a message to Trista and asked her how everything went. I was expecting her to tell me that some problem came up. Imagine my surprise when she told me everything went fine and my dog was tired out after their adventure! At that point, I confronted her with the GPS information. Only then did she claim it was a hot day (actually, I'd asked her to come in the morning so it wasn't that hot yet) and that she was worried about running her. She also claimed she had been having problems with my dog laying down when she tried to head home and refusing to come home within the 30 minutes (well, of course, she isn't going to want to come home if she hasn't had her exercise! She very willingly heads home after she's tired). I checked the past GPS data and found that my dog had never been out with her for more than 30 minutes, so clearly the line about not being able to get her home within 30 minutes also wasn't true. She said she wouldn't charge me for that run since they didn't run - yeah, well, what about the other "runs" that you also probably did not provide? Why would I believe the only time you were dishonest was the one day I happened to catch you? Obviously, I would never want anyone to exercise my dog if they didn't think they could do it safely. But if there is an issue, tell me! Don't pretend you provided the service! The fact that the safety concerns were only raised after I confronted her with the GPS data is pretty suspicious to me. And my dog had been running for several months prior to this with no problems so she was clearly capable of running. Basically, she got caught and tried to come up with an excuse. I think maybe Djog is an abbreviation for "didn't jog" because they sure didn't jog my dog.
