Nice neighborhood Pet store that is packed with plenty of goods for your four-legged friends. The couple times I've been here, I've been greeted by the very nice store workers and even treated to free treats. There is a large supply and selection of mostly food, treats and other chewables but also a nice selection of toys and pet accessories. What I like and also grabbed on my last visit are the large sized Braised beef hide free chewables. These come in all different sizes and flavors including chicken, venison, duck and more. The more you buy; you can get slight discounts which is nice. Because of it was my 'first visit' I was treated to a hedgehog chew toy by outward bound! A gent I chatted with said it lasted his dog several months, so it sounds like quality, which we all like. Along with this, it's just nice to support a local business and though I've not yet met Paul (The owner) I've heard many nice things about him and as mentioned, each visit the staff are very friendly and helpful. 5 giant bright red Yelp stars. Wally Pets isn't the largest pet store and I don't care. They have the best selection of product for your dog that I have ever seen in any store. Now I'm not going to claim I've been to every pet store, but I've been to a number in Texas, DC, Florida, Massachusetts, Vermont, Oregon, and Washington State. This is my favorite pet store of all of those. Aside from the incredible selection of treats and dog foods (seriously, aside from ZiwiPeak and Stella and Chewy's, they had a nice selection of local Seattle products), Paul might be the most friendly and knowledgeable proprietor of a pet store I've ever met (and I've met some really good ones). He actually seemed truly flattered that I had come to his pet store from San Antonio. I bought a couple of treats for some dog friends in Washington State and took back some Droodles from Sweet Lilly's which Paul correctly predicted my pomsky would absolutely adore. Not only does Wally pets have an excellent selection of pretty much everything for dogs and cats, they are phenomenally kind and generous. They have loaner cat carriers which we made use of to pick up our new cat from a shelter and take her to the vet before deciding on and purchasing a carrier. Just this week they loaned me an extra small harness for a dog I'm dog-sitting who's harness is too big for her and enabled to her to slip out of it. It worked really well and I came back and bought her a new one which the Wally Pets staff fitted perfectly to her, just like the loaner. Love Wally Pets!!! The neighborhood locals recommended this place for my dogs harness. They fit my "Houdini" with a "Wonder Walker" and I haven't been happier! My little Houdini can still manage to shrug his way out of it if I'm pulling forward and he's pulling backwards, but that's no fault of the "Wonder Walker" I just have a very "determined" dog! Whenever we take him there, Paul is just amazing and gives him lamb lung, educates us, and makes us feel empowered to do the best thing for our pup. Ollie knows whenever we go to Wally Pets, he's in for a big treat (or multiple.) We love Wally pets for many reasons - but most notably for: - their puppy harness program! They understand that puppies grow (and they grow fast) and they have an entire program where you purchase one harness and can continue sizing up when your pup outgrows it. All you have to do is wash the harness before returning it. They'll even fit your pup for the right size harness to make sure it's escape proof. - their customer service. Like I said, Paul is the best! He and his team go above and beyond to make every pup feel special. For Ollie specifically, they were out of his puppy food in the size we needed, so Paul ordered some special for us and called us when the shipment came in. It's the little things. - their orientation to puppy health! They're a rawhide free shop. I respect this and appreciate it so much. The owner is so nice and knowledgable and I would never hesitate recommending this place to fellow pet lovers. One day I was rushing to pick up dog food because I was out and made it just before they closed. I told him I was glad he was still open and how bad traffic was and he told me if I'm ever cutting it close to just give him a call and he would stay open until I got there. Truly one of the best customer service experiences of my life. The gentleman helping me (owner I think?) stopped what he was doing and patiently answered all my questions. He was honest and made great suggestions... the best part was he sent me home with the products to try out, free of charge . Paul, the owner of Wally Pets is the reason that this store will always have my loyalty. Him and his staff actually care about your pet and it shows. My dog kept getting bad GI infections monthly that were costing $1500 each time to keep her alive. I told this to one of the employees and she suggested a combination of different (raw) food choices and supplements. I wish I got her name to give her a shoutout because my dog's health has never been better since taking her advice. If it weren't for Wally Pets I don't know if my dog Juno would be alive. In addition to saving her life the employees always have the most sincere and welcoming attitudes. I hear the owner is awesome but I seem to miss him every time. For canned cat food see the pictures for prices. Buy 12 cans and you get 10% off. Greenies treats are $3.50 for 2.5 oz bag so I get those on amazon for $2.50. Street parking available for an hour. I never have trouble finding a spot in front of the store. read more

Such a cute local pet store in Wallingford! Went this past Sunday with the BF who lives 2 blocks away from her and his dog, and the pup loved the store! Seems like Cody's been coming here for a while. We missed Santa by 1 weekend, but still had a great experience in the store. Loki, the 3.5 year old lab/sharpei mix needed a few things. Got him a rain coat for $13, some treats and a big ol bone for the dog! Also was looking for Musher's Wax for the pup, for outdoor use and he had some other brand on hand. Will have to try and see how it works. The man at the cashier was very friendly and knowledgeable and seemed like he really cared about his customers. We love this place! The staff are super helpful and clearly know their stuff. They have lots of info on their products and will tell what they do and don't recommend. Paul has told me, "Yeah, I wouldn't get that. I only carry it because so many people ask for them. I tell them I don't recommend it but they want it anyway." Nobody else is that honest. Especially in the pet world. Seems like they are always trying to just sell you stuff. Not Wally Pets. The manager Christy is awesome too. Super on it with any special orders or issues. If you have any problems with something you get there, they will always make it right. I figured their prices would be more than what you find online but not really. I'm writing this review during a time of uncertainty. Seattle, the nation, and much of the world are currently practicing social isolation and trying to limit the spread of pandemic. As a result of this, many businesses have had to close their doors. Many of these businesses are pillars of our communities. They are places we visit because they offer goods and service we're looking for, yes, but we also continue to visit them either because we identify with their values, we make strong connections, or they simply make us feel good. Wally Pets does all of these things. I started going to Wally Pets shortly after opening a hair salon on 45th st. Wally Pets has always been a great place to get diet recommendations for my two dogs, unique toys, and you never walk out of there without the owner, Paul, making sure you have something new to sample or try. Who knows when we're all going to reopen, and what that might look like, but right now, we're all turning to our computers to stay connected. I've been seeing several great ideas about what we can do to support our local businesses during this shutdown, one of which is to leave a great online review in order to help them get more customers when they reopen. So this evening, I've decided to turn off the news for a bit, and recognize Paul and his team for their stellar work.
