I didn't want to give such a low review. I recently moved from San Francisco, so I was looking for a groomer for my corgi. I scheduled an appointment specifying only a bath and nail trim. When I walked in the woman working, was extremely friendly, and so was the groomer who came out to get my dog. We double checked what I wanted for the grooming session and I came back in an hour to find that, his butt was trimmed. I had not asked for a trim, as this would have been covered in our discussion before I dropped off my dog. The groomer was very proud of the fact that she had taken artistic freedom to trim my dogs butt because she thought that was a good look. Im sorry but It is not her dog, he is my dog and it looks ridiculous. when I ask just for a bath I'm not wanting a bath and a trim. Despite the store being well put together and the staff friendly, I really didn't appreciate how the groomer decided what she was going to do to my dog when she has explicit instructions on what to do. read more

The one time I went there since Covid, the checkout lady was not wearing a mask or gloves, and there was no social distance guidance in the store or for standing in line. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Health Mutt. They've been our neighborhood pet shop since we brought home our Corgi a year ago. We regularly visit as they carry everything we've required to raise a puppy: potty pads, grooming supplies, treats, toys, and more. We've even dropped in for a puppy play date and anticipate to use their grooming service in the near future. The owner and store associates have been warm and approachable. I took my kitty into Health Mutt this weekend for some clean up. They were very consultative about what services would be best for her, and helped me decide on some hair and nail trimming, and an ear cleaning. My cat is usually pretty nervous/timid, but did great with the grooming. They also had a great selection of pet supplies available. BEST customer service and awesome staff! This is my favorite pet store to go to for my dog and cat. LOVE this store! BF and I were at Whole Foods and decided to follow the signs to Health Mutt. When we got to the door we saw that it was Yappy Hour (Thursdays after 5pm) and treats are 10% off. Great! We walked in and there were chips and salsa and WINE being served! SERIOUSLY!! Aside from the amazing customer service (owner and owner's father have both been very, very nice), my favorite part of the store is that all the treats are sourced and made in the USA. Their bulk treats are at a great price and you don't have to worry about poisoning your pet with treats made in China. read more

What a cute store! Not much in the way here for pets that meow but if you're a doggy fan this store is purrfect. My friend and I were in the area and happened upon this store. Thinking of adorable holiday sweaters and holiday themed treats and toys, we just had to stop in and see what Health Mutt offered. Among the goodies like high end leashes, harnesses, toys and treats, I spotted a variety of healthy dog food brands, cat food brands, cozy pet beds and more. Don't give up if you're a cat owner - there are still plenty of things to find here for your fury loved one, it just seemed that the store was skewed slightly more for the dog owner. Which is fine because we all know our cats hate sweaters and leashes anyway, right? Sigh... But yes - Pop by if you're shopping for a pet. This is an adorable locally owned store. She nudges me right up to the door and just sits there whenever we're nearby even if she's already been there not 10 minutes ago. Cute, beyond cute. Everything about this store is amazing. Jenn is amazing, her adorable dad is amazing. It's borderline ridiculous. I love my dog, she's my first and Jenn has been great at advising me on food, chews, and EVERYTHING else. And she's been very kind about dealing with my neediness. (I'll calm down soon...I hope...once I figure this whole dog thing out!) This is the only place we buy food and edible products. I love that I can trust the quality of everything in this store because Jenn knows exactly where it's coming from! There's a surprising variety to choose from for such a small store! There are definitely things that the larger stores don't carry. Super kick butt thing: It's CHEAP! Ok, not Pet-superstore craptastic cheap, but cheaper than other comparable pet stores such as Mud Bay and Denny's Pet World in Kirkland. I've looked for items I buy here at those stores and Health Mutt is typically $1-$2 cheaper. No joke. read more

Perfect neighborhood pet store. They are the only place that sells no hide salmon chews which is basically the only kind my dog can eat due to his food allergies. He hates being groomed but is doing really well here. Just nail trims for now until he is more comfortable. And the staff are all so friendly and always helpful. read more

Love Health Mutt! Love Jennifer. She carries Honest Kitchen which you can usually only find in high-end stores like All the Best. Pricing is comparable to ATB but Jennifer offers a better reward program. Besides healthy food there are lots of fun toys, collars, treats and harnesses here. My pups love the hedgehogs that double as breath fresheners. And all treats are made in USA so no worries about tainted chicken jerky. One tip: Go Thursday evenings 5:30-7:30 for Yappy Hour. Treats are 10% off, off leash dogs socializing and wine for the humans. They also have gal named Mariah there doing nail trims for $8 and OMG she is a miracle worker. My dog Bondi has pretty much been turned away from Petco repeatedly because he tries to hang himself. Mariah was actually able to trim his nails, even though it took about 20 minutes. She stuck with it. Very impressive! Such a great little store, I can't wait to go back!! It's so refreshing to walk into a pet store that doesn't carry the exact same 4 types of treat toys as eeevveerryy single other pet store. I saw a lot of new toys and accessories that I can't wait to try out! The store is really clean and staff is exceptional. Today we bought a car harness for my pup. As I mentioned all of the other pet stores carry the saaammee 4 brands that never fit my string bean of a dog. Wah-la! The second one we tried on fit like a charm and I didn't even break the bank! I've been here twice with my dog lab/jindo and at first he was scared and shy, since we just adopted him. After going in today he seemed like a different dog. He was so excited and the owner remembered us. We walked around the store as he bit on different toys. I came in to get my dog something to chew on since he destroys all his toys in less than a day. The owner recommended the Himalayan Dog Chew, made from yak. He loves it and it's still in tact...the cow hide he ate in 5 minutes. I find toys here we havent seen at petco, and its not too far from where we live. I also went in once to return 2 toys i got that my dog did not end up playing with. They gladly accepted them even though i had the tags cut off and everything. We will be back! read more

If my beagle Parker could talk, this is what I would hear every afternoon when I come home from work: "Are we going to Health Mutt? Are we going to Health Mutt? I want to go to Health Mutt! Now!" It's his favorite place on Earth by far, and yes, he knows the route by heart. Fortunately, Jenn, the owner, and the rest of the staff completely understand Parker's obsession, and they always have a treat ready for him when we show up. This place is definitely a win-win for both of us. There's a number of high-quality dry, canned and raw foods to choose from, making it pretty much the only place where I buy Parker's food. While I browse, Parker spends his time trying to climb into one of the buckets with bulk treats and steal a piece or two. If a particular food item or flavor isn't available, it's not a problem to request a special order for your four-legged friend. They also have plenty of squeaky and fluffy toys, collars and leashes, rain and winter coats, and an entire cat section. And I almost forgot - a professional photographer comes by on Halloween and takes awesome pet photos with proper staging and lighting. Parker looked like a movie star! Great pet shop near Greenlake. The owner is suuuuuper sweet and helpful and has taken time to give me lots of great information on dog foods (she has great high quality options that my dog absolutely loves, she even pointed out smaller bags that came with a coupon for a few dollars off a big bag to give me the option to test drive the new food with my dog), dog treats/toys, booties, etc. Also, if you aren't squeamish, you might consider getting the duck or chicken feet. I don't see them many other places - and my dog loves them!! So much so that I will find random duck feet under the sheets bc she wants to carry it with her and chew t everywhere. So if you aren't terrified of waking up with a gnarled duck foot poking you, I'd recommend giving them a try- your dog will love you for it! read more

My dog and I are very happy customers. The owner absolutely loves dogs and loves her dog visitors. Her store has very cute things at reasonable prices. So far we've bought a new sweater, treats, a new reflective collar (they're not so common in his small size), leash, and we're trying some new dog food. I love that this store is here. It adds a great neighborhood feel to our neck of the woods. It's also a lot more satisfying getting my pet supplies from a small local business where I can get to know the owner (and vice versa) than a large national store. You know, community and all. This place is FANTASTIC!!!! The woman who owns the store, Jen, is wonderful. She is incredibly well educated on the food she sells and can help you to find the best food for your pet. My dog has always had a sensitive stomach and an allergy to Chicken. Jen helped me find a food that works really well for my dog. Love this place. Roommate recommended it. The owners are great people and they have high quality toys made of kevlar. I asked the lady if they had any indestructible toys for my GSD, and she looked at me and quietly said with a smile, there is no such thing. If determined they will destroy anything. Jen always spoils our Yoshi with treats him whenever we visit, which means Yoshi loves to visit often.
