I absolutely adore this place!…read more Aside from a Petco or Petsmart I don't think I've ever really been in a reptile store and I got to tell you, every time I visit to pick up rats for my snakes, UGG. I love it! I feel like once in awhile they change their layout but the most RECENT change up? Amazing! Please don't change it. My favorite are the giant snakes (that used to be in the back and harder to see) but now I can see them up front and center! They are huge! I came a few weeks ago when one of the staff members were handling the green tree python and ugg so beautiful in person (I watch a lot of snake videos on YT). Anyways, I'm getting carried away, I initially wanted to leave a review for my actual purchase of F/T rats and mice. I still remember the first time I came in and I asked for some mice... the sweet girl goes to the back and brings me a LIVE MOUSE! I'm like "ooooh no no no, I need frozen please!" Haha! Ever since then, I make sure to clarify I need frozen. My hognose is a great eater and never had any issues and before I found this place, I had to order in bulk like 50-100... and it was not cheap nor did I have the space. When I got my ball python, there was no way I was going to be ordering 50+ rats and you know how they can be... when I first got him he ate 2 times and decided to go on a hunger strike for 6 months... good thing I didn't have 48 more rats in my freezer lol! Both my snakes eat great which means they really take care of their rodents and I have been a happy customer for the past 1.5ish years? I used to drive up from Ballard but now we live in Everett so it's only 15 mins away! Thanks for all that you guys do and being welcoming every time (:

We went to Hewitt Reptile Emporium looking to buy a crested gecko, but staff member Nina sold us on…read morea veiled chameleon instead... and we couldn't be happier! Even though the chameleon is a more complicated creature to care for, Nina taught us everything we needed to know to be successful with our new pet, and has continued to answer any questions that have arisen. Also, unlike at the big chain stores, Hewitt breeds their own chameleons and they know what they're doing. If you buy a reptile from Petco or Petsmart, you're likely to get one that has been bred from poor stock, has been improperly cared for, and is unhealthy. Avoid these expensive and heartbreaking problems by shopping at Hewitt!

Quick & Easy Nail Trim for My Pups!…read more We brought our dogs to the grooming area at Petco because they were long overdue for a nail trim. We showed up a little before they opened, so there was already a small line waiting to get in. Once they opened the doors, some people went shopping while others (like us) headed straight for grooming. We didn't have an appointment, so I fully expected a bit of a wait. The team was moving at a good pace -- they checked in the appointment pups first, then got to us. I really appreciate having Petco nearby because: My dogs already have profiles in their system. The groomers are always friendly and patient. They're usually super quick -- my past visits, the dogs are done before I'm even finished checking out! One thing I love: you can add a tip right at the register. I never seem to have cash, so this is a big plus for me! This visit was on a Sunday, so it was definitely busy. Belle went first while I paid, and she was still getting pampered when I finished. Then it was Leia's turn. We'd had a puppy playdate right before, so I was hoping they'd be too tired to care about the paw-dicure. Belle was chill, but Leia was a little restless -- the groomer took her time, and it turned out great! I usually just do the trim and buff, and even with that simple service, the team always makes it a good experience for us. Thanks for keeping our pups' nails nice and neat, Petco! We'll be back

I was overcharged on my purchase and didn't notice until later when seeing my credit card charge…read morepop up (I was distracted at checkout holding my dog) I filled out a survey emailed to me and noted the overcharge, then the manager, James, reached out to me and said that he'd refund the it. I've followed up multiple times and have received no reply or refund.

Ellen was amazing did a fantastic job grooming our dog. Our dog is small and when she put a leash…read moreon her neck she freaked out but Ellen was able to calm her down. When we got there our dog was happy wagging its tail and showed no sign of fear. Our dog was a rescue dog so we didn't know how she would react to grooming. Ellen said when we bring her back ask for her and she would be glad to groom her again. Thank You Petco for the wonderful groomer and service!

Came here to buy my kids each a hamster today. Terrible experience with a staff member who told us…read moreher name was Judy, which ended with us shipping elsewhere. Initially we planned to buy two hamsters, and use one cage. We asked if this was alright, and the staff member told us no they need their own cages. We chatted for a moment and decided that was fine, we'd buy two and we'd buy two separate cages- however we didn't plan to buy them both from Petco (I already had plans to purchase a whole setup on OfferUp after our store visit). Apparently Judy didn't like this for some reason...she said she would not sell us both hamsters unless we were buying two cages right then. I asked her if this was store policy, and she said it was. I said that was funny, considering they were both housed in the same habitat at the store and perfectly fine for the time being. This exchange was not pleasant...so we left. We went over to Pet Smart, and got our two hamsters. The staff was super helpful, and the hamsters were also 40%. Thanks for saving us some money Judy. Both hamsters are content in their new habitats (see, two cages) and we will make sure to shop at Pet Smart for all our pet care needs moving forward
