Quick & Easy Nail Trim for My Pups! We brought our dogs to the grooming area at Petco because they were long overdue for a nail trim. We showed up a little before they opened, so there was already a small line waiting to get in. Once they opened the doors, some people went shopping while others (like us) headed straight for grooming. We didn't have an appointment, so I fully expected a bit of a wait. The team was moving at a good pace -- they checked in the appointment pups first, then got to us. I really appreciate having Petco nearby because: My dogs already have profiles in their system. The groomers are always friendly and patient. They're usually super quick -- my past visits, the dogs are done before I'm even finished checking out! One thing I love: you can add a tip right at the register. I never seem to have cash, so this is a big plus for me! This visit was on a Sunday, so it was definitely busy. Belle went first while I paid, and she was still getting pampered when I finished. Then it was Leia's turn. We'd had a puppy playdate right before, so I was hoping they'd be too tired to care about the paw-dicure. Belle was chill, but Leia was a little restless -- the groomer took her time, and it turned out great! Used for grooming, supposed to get free grooming after 7th visit and they tell me they won't groom my dog anymore.... But wait till the free one to do that? After 7 visits? Will write corporate next. Reception: Pretty clean for a Petco. No warm greetings, not even to my dog. The Petco's in other states that I ventured, would at least talk to me or my dog. Must be busy. General service: Not a lot of floor assistance. Saw one guy with a pony tail and Naruto jacket doing most of the heavy lifting, running back to the counter to ring people up. Grooming: Had a few grooming appointments. Staff was not warm AT ALL. Vibes were off at intake. The last few times that I have returned home with my pup, she seemed traumatized. Takes her about 2 days to get back to normal. Never happened before. The haircuts are sloppy. This is the equivalent to being a kid and getting your haircut by the grumpy, retired Marine that knows one haircut. Overall: If your dog is in need of a quick..go ahead. Not me. Done. Horrible service! Had an appointment which I perviously put on the check in form she was matted in certain areas. The older lady at the front desk touched her for two seconds and was like no we can't do anything, didn't even try at all, she had her mind made up even before touching her. How it felt was she didn't want to put in the work not because of my dogs safety which she said was the reason, which was crazy because she didn't even properly inspect her . Store is clean and has an adequate selection of products. Isles could be larger, but they're limited by the size of the building (it's not very big). Service can be hit-or-miss. Sometimes the staff is really friendly: smiling and complimenting my dog. Other times they seem very task-focused (which is fine). This evening however, was the first interaction I had that was actively rude. I was purchasing some supplies in preparation for a dog walk and my experience with the cashier really set a bad tone for the rest of my evening (in addition to ruining my walk). I will not be returning to this Petco location. My interaction with the cashier (James) went as follows: Cashier: "Do you have a phone number?" Me: "No" Cashier: "You don't have a phone number?" As a pet store, this one is only adequate. The items are overpriced but it is convenient sometimes. I agree with others the parking lot is a disaster and much too small and the spaces are too small which makes people take up two spaces when parking which just makes things worse. Anyway, we just rescued a 10 month old puppy a couple of weeks ago and she really needed Grooming. We couldn't get into our regular groomer soon enough because she's amazing so we decided to give PetCo a try. The soonest appointment was two weeks out which seemed reasonable. When we arrived today we were told it would take 3-4 hours!!! This is ludicrous. We know how long it takes to groom a dog and it's not 4 hours! We were told they overbook on weekends and it's an assembly line. Your dog sits in a kennel until someone can wash her, then waits in a kennel until someone can dry her, then waits again until a groomer is open. Look, she's already been traumatized in her short life, we aren't going to let her sit in a kennel terrified until you fit her in. It's just an assembly line! What's the point of making an appointment at all?! We'll wait for our regular groomer who actually cares about animals enough to make sure they're taken care of instead of sitting in a kennel for up to two and a half hours. read more

Congratulations! You didn't have any reviews yet and your first one is negative. I just wanted to return an item, clearly unopened. The very first item on the receipt. The receipt is clearly marked from your store, not just some other store in the area. It's probably the first thing I've ever returned in the 3 years we have been in this area, buying pet supplies from Petco. Because I forgot my wallet. and they couldn't give me cash. There's no posted policy that says I have to bring government ID to a store manager to get my money back on an item clearly sold from the particular store. The manager says I can dig that up on the website. They would like to put it on my credit card. But that's not a posted policy either, that I can only return things purchased by credit card back into my credit card. The manager just wanted me to be clear that Petco can't return everyone's items in cash. Because apparently the community plots ways to bankrupt Petco, and all come the same day wanting to do that, trying to break the Petco piggy bank. This is a community that has plenty of businesses that can remember and appreciate me, and return my money on an item when I very occasionally ask for that service. Making me feel like a thief isn't going to be a problem with the businesses I choose. 1 star because there nothing lower. read more

Haven't been here since they opened so we decided to check it out. It's very bright, and clean when you walk in. They were having some sort of employee meeting or something when we arrived, which was nice because no one was on top of us trying to help us. We were just window shopping and looking for which brands of kitty litter they sell. I'm always leary of places like Petco and Petsmart selling animals, I've seen some terrible things in the past. They had some reptiles, some birds, and some vermin. They all looked cared for, and their cages were clean. They also had some cats/ kittens up for adoption. The price for adoption seemed high, we adopted from NOAH, and it was less expensive and came with coupons and a free vet visit. Of course it's hard to walk away from them....so if you are a sucker with heartstrings....look out. Avoid the cute kitties at all cost. Considering the big pet store, Bridges, moved out of town a while back, this is a good location for them. People needing pet supplies, pet grooming, obedience classes for their dogs, etc now how an option in town. The prices were higher than what I can get at the co-op or other places, so I probably won't be shopping there for my pets needs. But my girls will be forcing me to stop by and see the animals now and again. read more

Wow just got off a very disappointing phone call. As I understand that we are in a pandemic this Petco is still providing grooming services to dogs. However what it doesn't state is that it's not providing services to large dogs because they take up 2 appointments. My dog doesn't need to be clipped only washed. I didn't know we discriminate against the size of dog. My dog is a larger dog weighing 118. But I find it very hard to believe she takes any longer for a bath then those needing to be groomed. I couldn't even schedule an appointment further in the month at a later time. I was told because it takes more people to wash her, which is why I pay more for her to be washed. It is so ridiculous ! Normally this place has been great just cannot believe what I was told today. I have never heard of a place that turns down business even at a later date, as in 3-4 weeks later! read more

I had scheduled my dog grooming appointment a week and a half ago for today 11/21 at 5:30pm. This morning I received a text message with terrible grammar asking for me to come in earlier around 2pm to ensure proper time to groom my dog. I let them know I can not make it at 2 but can be there at 4:30pm. We agreed. I went to the Lake Stevens Petco where they informed me that my appointment was at the Smokey point location. I immediately called and texted Petco and told them what had happened. The employee at Petco then responded and said, "if you're late we will need to reschedule." I let them know I left work an hour early to beat traffic and will be there at 4:45 and all I received back was "4:45-reschedule". There was no empathy towards me or my time. I highly suggest petco to retrain their employees and teach them how to properly treat their customers with empathy, compassion and WAY better communication. I told them I would like to cancel and will go somewhere else and did not get a response trying to save my appointment or confirming the cancelation. HIGHLY dissatisfied with my experience today and will not be returning to Petco because of this. read more

This location is relatively new, opened this year, so their product inventory is still scarce on variety. The store layout in general is very cramped for space but as an employee, standing in the middle of the entrance with a shopping cart while having an obviously personal conversation isn't appropriate. They keep their animals pretty well stocked, but in less than good conditions (full grown reptiles in a tank far too small). Animal health seems to be decent despite these conditions and a few dead fish & bettas. read more

First Petco I have been to where the building and its surroundings aren't cared for. Couldn't even get into the parking lot due to snow. All other lots and streets clear. We had a horrible experience with their grooming department. The ladies were rude to both my dog and I. They did not listen to what we asked for and were rude during both the interactions dropping and picking up our dog. They shaved our dog and left a poofy mess on the tail and head. When we called to get a correction, both the customer service and grooming department were rude, and acted as if were we in an inconvenience. We will not being taking our dog here again and will not be shopping in this store. I would not recommend their services. I believe any other groomer would treat you and your dog more respectfully. read more

Went in to look at the hamsters and buy some hamster treats. The smell of the place was overwhelming. It was like burning the hairs in my nostrils is was so strong. The closer we got to the hamsters the worse it got. Finally we see an entire hamster habitat pulled out and on the ground. There was a garbage can next to it and urine all over the ground. I'm pretty sure whatever had been in there was long dead. My kids and I ran out of the store because we were on the verge of puking. We're going in today for puppy classes :) went in the other day got a few things was walked around by one of the staff helped me get to everything very quickly and made my trip very enjoyable because o didn't have to spend an hour looking for each thing. They trimmed my puppies nails and did a great job :) even took the big dog that was barking at her and making her scared, made me feel better knowing she was safe. And I asked them to pre clean their table before cutting her nails because of her parvo vaccination was not going to cover her in case of exposure yet, they did so with no attitude at all and I was very happy with how they treated my puppy! It was her first time getting her nails done and she did really well because of how well they treated her :) they even gave her a treat :) I can't want to start the classes :) read more

The store is small, but clean and tidy, and that is all I can really say in its favor. The parking lot is a nightmare, which is kind of inexcusable in deepest outer suburbia, but it's probably not Petco's fault. The fact that this location has abysmal customer service, compared to other locations, however... basically, don't bother. Drive a little further to go to Bridges or Pet Pros. If you're a Petco fanatic for some reason, haul up to the South Marysville location, which is just as clean and tidy, and also has the advantage of being adequately staffed by helpful people. read more

Jacob in the grooming department is absolutely excellent! I took my dog in today, and he does a fantastic job. I have had a hard time finding a groomer that takes their time and does a well job. My 70lb lab has very dry skin and always leaves groomers still full of dandruff and smells the next day. He was very thorough and did a deep condition to help her skin, checked her ears, glands, brushed her very well, nails are short, and gave her a nice treat and flower. She looked stunning. Now, all of a sudden, today they can't groom my Shih Tzu because my vet had put a history of seizures in her records. Why was I being just told this when dropping her off? Having several cats and previously a dog, we used to go to Petco several times a month. I sometimes have to wait to receive assistance but usually staff is very helpful and attentive Not today! new staff or whatever the reason I left the shop in tears! maybe it was my hormones !!! I went straight where I needed to go, having started a water garden with fish I needed something to clean the bottom of it and a couple of other things. once finished with that I looked for a member of staff to get some flea treatments for my cats which is locked away. Only one member was visible and serving another customer at the till. meanwhile other customers came in got what they wanted and went to the till. I am still looking for someone else. more people came in and out with their shopping. At the till, a lady was requiring more input about a product so the staff went to get help from somewhere at the bottom of the shop. on coming back I voiced that I needed help also but they carried on to the tills. I am still waiting 10 mn on and new customers still coming and going to till to queue. Not seeing any end to my writing I just gave up dropping all my goods on the nearest shelf and left upset to be so blatantly forgotten. read more

I loved that this place is so close to home but the hand full of times I went to this store I am always always disappointed. It always seems like there is never anyone working when I go in. I only ever see a cashier. I walk all around the store to find no one. On top of that they don't know how to split the bill. One time I asked the cashier to split the and she goes oh I don't know how to do it and no one is here to show me how. Another time I asked to split my bill again and she said ok but ended up charging my one credit card. They aren't very helpful here and I have giving this store so many chances but enough is enough. I'll travel the extra few feet to go to pet pros where they are more knowledgeable helpful and know how to split a damn bill. If I can give this place a zero star I would read more

We have been taking our dogs there for a while (since Tracy left the Everett Petco, and she was absolutely fantastic and prices were lower as well). The prices there are high and they just raised them on top of it. The grooming has progressively gotten worse. My wife and I were absolutely unhappy about our dogs last clip. And it was an easier clip, because I asked to shave the leg hair shorter for the summer. There were so many uneven areas on the legs and chest. Perhaps dull blades? Not sure. read more

Ren was just the best! My dog had very overgrown coat of over 5 inches. I was nervous to get his beautiful curly hair cut short. She left close to two inches and meticulously brushed and fluffed him. Too many things happened wrong here. I normally shop at Petsmart in Everett since I work so close to it, but this Petco is right by my house and I needed a few things on my day off. While trying to find my items I noticed there are spider webs / Cobb webs on EVERYTHING. Like, on everything. The Caliworms I was going to buy were all dead and dried out. Not just one package of them, every single package of them in the fridge were dead. And when I went to check out, I was going to use Petcos price match on one of my items so I didn't have to wait for Chewy.com to ship it since my pet needed it now, and the cashier (it said Becca on my receipt) said that they don't price match with chewy anymore because they are a competitor (even though on the Petco website it says they do price match specifically with chewy). So I didn't buy my item there. I told her I was surprised they don't price match with Chewy since PetSmart still does and she responded with "I wouldn't know. We don't associate with Petsmart here" (that in itself lost my respect. Both Petco and PetSmart should be kind to each other due to thier main goal, which is looking out for our pets). I also mentioned the spider webs and Cobb webs to her. She was very rude and told me "we dust the entire store twice a week. There is nothing we can do about them." Maybe while people stock items, or walk around the store facing items they could dust things every day.... Just a thought when you have that many webs. I wouldn't even touch some items because they were covered in webs. So, needless to say, I felt completely disrespected and lied to since I called that Petco 5 minutes after leaving and they informed me that yes, they do indeed price match with chewy. Honestly, someone should probably inform the cashier who does the transactions that. I suppose I'll just stick with going to Everett or Snohomish for my pet care needs from now on. read more
