This was our first visit after switching from a place in Snohomish for convenience. I called to schedule a grooming appointment, but somewhere along the way there was clearly a miscommunication, because when I picked up my dog, he had only received a bath and brush. (And ear cleaning.) Great. No actual grooming was done. Which is what I called for when I made the appointment... It's also worth noting that they ask for a tip before you even see your dog. I tipped, assuming everything would be done and I'd be very happy. It wasn't until I got home that I realized they hadn't trimmed the hair around his paw pads or sanitary areas...basic grooming items. (I had also requested the anal gland expression and de shedding, so who knew at that point what was even done.) I called the next morning to see if I could bring him back in to have this corrected. I explained that I was not upset but understood that confusion happens. Well, there was no concern about making this right. I was told they don't offer that as a standalone service and that I'd need to book another bath appointment. What?! Giving my dog another bath two days in a row is not only terrible for my dog, but it's also unnecessary $$. So that response was surprising. After pushing a bit, they said they could "get approval" to do the standalone services if I brought him back and paid the price difference. At that point, it wasn't about the $20. The prices are all reasonable. It was about the lack of ownership and effort to make things right after they missed core parts of the service I originally requested. This was their chance to retain a new customer and they just didn't care. I chose not to bring him back because the experience left me with very little confidence in their care or customer service. I was really hoping to find a reliable local spot in Lake Stevens, but unfortunately, this isn't it.

Quick & Easy Nail Trim for My Pups!…read more We brought our dogs to the grooming area at Petco because they were long overdue for a nail trim. We showed up a little before they opened, so there was already a small line waiting to get in. Once they opened the doors, some people went shopping while others (like us) headed straight for grooming. We didn't have an appointment, so I fully expected a bit of a wait. The team was moving at a good pace -- they checked in the appointment pups first, then got to us. I really appreciate having Petco nearby because: My dogs already have profiles in their system. The groomers are always friendly and patient. They're usually super quick -- my past visits, the dogs are done before I'm even finished checking out! One thing I love: you can add a tip right at the register. I never seem to have cash, so this is a big plus for me! This visit was on a Sunday, so it was definitely busy. Belle went first while I paid, and she was still getting pampered when I finished. Then it was Leia's turn. We'd had a puppy playdate right before, so I was hoping they'd be too tired to care about the paw-dicure. Belle was chill, but Leia was a little restless -- the groomer took her time, and it turned out great! Anyway - I'm so happy to be able to trust Morgan and Linda with making my furbaby look AND feel great! They removed all her dead and matted hair, especially from her neck and tail where it'd started to get pretty bad and were difficult for me to brush out on my own. She had so much dead hair caught up in her fluffiness that she had a more grey tone to her color. Now she's back to her shiny black! I thought she was getting more grey with age - but no she just needed a solid grooming! They shaped her to perfection, my cute lil poof! Like a soot-sprite from Spirited Away ;) Most surprising of all, she was ecstatic when I arrived to pick her up. Not for me, though!! She wanted to stay there with Morgan!
