AMAZING customer service, product lines and CBD options! I have a cat that has a kidney issue and whenever I'm in a jam I go into the store and this lovey girl, I WISH I could remember her name!!!!!!! But she hand wrote her personal selections based on her opinions with cats and product knowledge. IMPRESSED. Then the next time I came in she suggested Spunky for my cat and its wonderful! OAK HARBOR Island Pet Center is the Bee's knee's and I so so so glad it's here! oh wait!! and I spoke with the owner a while back, umm maybe several months?? anyways he was so helpful in explaining all the benefits of the different CBD lines and his personal experience with it. love the store little pricey on the cages and wood but has great pricing on substrate and heating bulbs ect. only wish they sold more sizes of live feeders but most the staff are very helpful n seem to care! but i saw a review about being shorted on bugs and every time exept once ive been shorted at least some each time but I would feel petty for asking for more so yea I'm gonna start asking to separate 20 in each bag so u can tell lol but staff is great some are very pationate and I see them interact with costumers great :) read more

Great store with very helpful and knowledgeable staff! I was recently looking to purchase something to assist my aging dog with getting into our SUV. I was looking to get a ramp or stairs, but the employee helping me suggested I try a harness. She got the harness out of the box and went outside with my dog and I to test it out. It didn't end up working for us, and I purchased the ramp anyway, but I appreciated the suggestion...especially because it was a less expensive option. I also recently purchased a slow feed bowl for my pup, and once again, the employee assisting me was very knowledgeable in the different styles offered - they have some really cool options! I'll continue shopping here not only for the amazing service, excellent selection, and fair prices, but also because I think it's important to support local businesses. read more

The owner is a SMART ASS !!!! I don't like getting ripped off and lied to !!! My time is important to me !!! Apparently the owner of Island pet Center doesn't think so !!! I bought 200 live meal worms and noticed that the bag of worms looked a little short, so I asked the girl cashier and she said oh no I counted them there's200 for SURE !!!!! so I showed my husband and he said let's count them and video tape you doing it, well sure enough there was only 125 worms, I paid for 200 So I called and left a message for the owner and never heard back, so I called again and talked to the owner and he just thought it was so funny and wasn't concerned at all that I had to drive back to his store and stand around a WAIT for him get me the 75 worms from the night before!!!! Like I got nothing else to do in life !!!!!! WHF !!!! when he handed me the worms I asked him if he got my phone message and he laughed and he said he NEVER LISTENS TO HIS PHONE MESSAGES !!!! Shocked that he was stupid enough to admit that ! I said WOW !!!!! AND THE SMART ASS MOCKED ME AND SAID WOWWWWW !! YOU JUST LOST A GOOD CUSTOMER!!!!ASSHOL! read more

One of the best pet stores I have been to! I have been here numerous times and talked the staff about my pit bull. They have helped me with my dog's ear infection, allergies, skin conditions, and my dog's partially torn ACL. You would think I would be writing about a Veterinarian. I was offered excellent advice on how to handle my dogs problems. They do have a lot of customers so at times you may not get the help you need; however, if you ask, they will get to you as soon as they become available. If they do not know the answer, they will do their best to find out for you. I know there is a PetCo opening up right around the corner but I support local businesses and I will be a long time customer. read more

Things are kinda pricey but they have a lot there. Crickets are cheaper than Petco. They also have saltwater aquarium stuff which I like. If they had more saltwater stuff I'd give them 5 stars read more

My husband and I are frequent users of our Amazon Prime account, but the customer service and friendly atmosphere at Island Pet Center makes it our one-stop shop for animal products. We love that sales associates greet us at the door and feed our fur baby treats at the cash register. They have also proven to be invaluable when recommending local trainers and veterinarians. It might cost a dollar or two more for a dog toy here than online, but we love supporting this family-owned business. read more

These guys are super helpful and knowledgeable. Someone put goldfish in our truckbed so we decided to buy an aquarium. We bought one from Walmart before we found this place... I really wish we'd gone here first - the prices were competitive and the stands look much nicer. I've returned to this store several times and the customer service is always excellent. read more

A great local business, we shop here for our kittie's supplies, over going off-Island to the big chain pet stores. Petco might be cheaper, but you get what you pay for. The people at Island Pet Center are helpful, but not obnoxious. They'll even special order something for you for no extra charge! read more

Other than Housing some solitary animals together I really love this store it is a nice place with great animal care! Although some of there prices should go down I love it! This is a very quiet and calm store! I miss rino the bird whom knew my name when I said crackle bird he would say my name! I have been coming here for about seven years and have always left more than satisfied. The product prices are very competitive to the larger businesses in town. I would much rather put my hard earned money into a small business owners' hands than a fat-cats corporation. THE BEST PART IS THAT - i ALWAYS LEAVE WITH MORE INFORMATION FROM THE QUESTIONS I ASK, THAN I HAVE EVER EXPECTED. A PERSONAL TOUCH YOU WILL NOT FIND ELSEWHERE. Why even call this a business? Over priced everything and if you finally get off of work in time and make it there before 6 when they close (if they haven't left early) you'll be disappointed. Everything you need can either be made from Home Depot by a 10 year old or bought at Walmart for half the price. Their working hours are Monday thru Friday 10 am to 6 pm. This is the best place to get anything you need for your pets! I love that the business has been family owned since the 70s and it has kept its family values. The staff is incredibly helpful and they really know what they're talking about! You can tell everyone working there truly cares about animals and they're not just there to make money.
