Rather than focusing on training the dog himself, he teaches YOU how best to work with your dog to get the results you are seeking! And i really feel that he gets to know your dog and how it communicates and behaves and works based on that, instead of having a one size fits all approach. I really can't say enough how much i appreciate and believe in how he works , and i am SO thankful. Peppy was a very anxious rescue when i got him, and with some super simple exercises and trust built through Eric's methods, im now giving him haircuts and working up to nail trims, his recall was non existent before and now he comes right away most of the time, and he even was able to do a couple flights with me with minimal issues. A+++++ service!! Thank you Bridge the Bark!!!

He finds creative ways to shape behavior with positive reinforcement, compassion, genuine connection to animals, and the use of some of the quirkiest home-made props you'll see in the industry.

They have put a lot of thought into providing the best care for dogs; music in the kennel room, private rooms for dogs that need them, prioritizing special needs dogs getting into foster homes and out of the kennel environment They even go above and beyond by spending time training dogs and puppies in their agility room. Their social media pages follow a few of the same dogs which just shows the dedication the members at Homeward have to maximizing the amount of people to see their adoptable pups. The quality and the passion truly show at Homeward. I am grateful for my dog and the people that took such good care of him at Homeward when he was there.

I've been to several shelters in the past year to adopt and it's been up and down. I went here on a Saturday after work and brought home my fur ever baby girl. I'm a proud happy fur mom . This is the happiest day of my life . I cried so many tears of joy when I was able to adopt my new female dog. I named her Sasha. Previously known as Oldsmobile. Sasha is the absolute sweetest girl ever. Sasha is what my heart needed. As a puppy she is very smart. Introducing to crate has been fairly well. Eating wow this girl can eat, run, do sprints around the house, yard and is super excited. I am too lol. Potty training is going very well in the morning she wakes me up with kisses to say she has to go and stands by door we go out. We have a routine. Totally recommend Homeward Per adoption to everyone. You will never be disappointed. The accept donations from you if your pet has passed away, been surrendered or you just want to donate, food, toys, supplies for dogs and cats. Well, I could continue to give praises all day. Gotta go mommy duty is calling.

After making a lifelong connection to the rescue when I relocated, I became a volunteer myself over the years. The rescue is fully run and operated by dedicated professionals, animal rescuers, and animal lovers. I am so grateful to have made this rescue and all of the people who make it part of my own adopted family here in Washington. I now "fospice" foster for some of the rescues unadoptables. To keep the shelter open for adoptable pets, and really get behind "no ferret turned away", and remain a no-kill shelter, a lot of the shelter's more complicated kiddos are hanging out with so many of our volunteers, enjoying the final years of life in a home. This is truly a wonderful organization that centers the animals first, always.

I am pleased to support this caring and professional shelter. And yes, I've visited both locations and consistently impressed by the clean, safe environment. This shelter provides great value for your donation. It is worthy of your support.

I visited this store over the weekend, really looking forward to adopting a bird. Before driving an…read morehour, I called ahead to confirm if they had birds for adoption or if it was just a supply store, as I was specifically interested in that. The guy I spoke with said yes, they do have birds for adoption, but didn't clarify much beyond that. I assumed it would be like a Petco-style place where you can meet and adopt birds. When I arrived, I was shocked by how dusty the store was and how poorly maintained the cages looked. The birds' habitats seemed depressing and unsuitable -- definitely not the kind of environment where birds should live. When I asked about adopting a bird, I was told flat out, "THEY ARE NOT FOR ADOPTION." I was confused because didn't I call to ask that? And they said yes? Then I asked, "Neither of them?" He said only two types of birds were actually available for adoption, and those were the same birds you can find at Petco. If I had known this, I wouldn't have driven an hour I was specifically interested in African Grey parrots, which they had but not for adoption and since they are not available at Petco, I thought they would have one there for adoption. We were looking at the birds and we were never told "if you are interested in adopting these are available" which I would've appreciated. I decided to go to Petco after which is 5 min away from my house! and got a jenday conure bird there. Anyway, I ended up buying some sunflower seeds for a bird I already have at home, but he wouldn't eat them, which was weird because those are his favorite. It turned out the bag was expired, which explains why. Overall, this place felt really poorly managed, especially regarding the birds' living conditions. They desperately need better habitats that allow the birds space to stretch their wings and have a more natural, healthy environment. I do not recommend this place.

Recently, my littlest cat was acting very weird and stopped eating over a period of a few days. I thought it might be because of the heat wave we were having at the time, but when she got increasingly lethargic and started hiding, I got worried and called Chuckanut Valley. They got us right in! After quite a bit of poking and prodding, not to mention a full panel of tests, it was determined that my cat was likely just hot. It was a pretty expensive diagnosis, but I was relieved it wasn't something worse. The doctors and staff here are always so loving and kind. And while their prices are definitely premium (aren't all vets?) I do appreciate they have prescription meds on hand when I need them for my pets, and offer discounts if you offer full diagnostic panels. I am so happy to have found them!
