I absolutely love taking my pups to Posh Puppies. I have a 3 year old Australian Shepherd & an 8 year old Maltese/Yorkie. My Morkie visits pretty regularly, and Im always so happy when I pick him up. He's super anxious, but he is always spunky & playful when I pick him up. Today I took the Aussie for a clean up, and when I got there to pick her up she was SO HAPPY. I've taken my husky here probably 5+ times now and he always comes home looking better than I do when I leave a salon! He's been to several different groomers that work here and they all do an AMAZING job! Appointments usually take 2-3 hours which is the perfect amount of time to either run errands, come back home and rid the house of fur before he comes back, or grab coffee and get a mani/pedi! I have a sweet senior 13 year old long hair collie/chow/rotweiler named Puff. She's partly deaf and going blind so I'm pretty protective of her. I'm new to oak harbor and I've taken her other places around town but was less than happy with both the handling and grooming so I was leary of another new unfamiliar place. That was all put to ease immediately when I walked through the doors of Posh puppy!! It's very clean they are very organized. The dogs weren't just immediately taken to a back room and thrown in a cage. My groomer( I forgot to ask his name!) was very gentle and slow with her. He let her sniff and get used to the place. He took the time to ask me about my girl and see if there might be any issues he needed to address as well as how I would like her styled. After a few hours- they called to tell me she was ready and she looked and smelled fabulous!! I know she was very dirty and a ton of work- (nail trim- bath-conditioner-ears-teeth plus I had let her go because I wasn't finding a groomer I could trust!) They even put a little bandana on her. Everything was out in the open and he was very gentle putting the harness back on. They are a bit pricier than the other groomers around oak harbor(not really by much at all)- but thats because they are the best! You get what you pay for and they did a fantastic job! I went here the first time- totally great and deshed was worth the extra money. However the second time I went in for the walk in nail trims. My dog got her nails trimmed (she's a little hyper with black nails so I understand it not being completely even). But two nails were so long that it ripped off at the park (2 weeks later!!) and I had to take her to the emergency room. Long story short, the vet on call was great, explained to me that I should cut her nails instead because they were so long she lost an entire toenail. I get being in a rush but leaving it long enough for it to rip? That's a bit much. I've never had this issue at any other groomer. Staff were nice, but the 5 hours I spent at the vet and the amount of blood in my carpet was not worth the 20 dollars I wasted at posh puppies. It's back to cutting her nails myself! read more

We have been getting our doggies groomed with Melissa (now at Posh Puppies) since 2015. Samson (our Bichon Frise) became difficult to groom as he aged and Melissa showed great patience and kindness in handling him. She was the only groomer who gained his trust (he loved her). We now take Merlin, our Shih Tzu, to Melissa and his tail starts wagging as soon as he sees her. Merlin's hair always looks fabulous after Melissa grooms him. Kennedy does a great job as well! I took my 10 month old Bernedoodle in for her first grooming and it was and still is traumatizing, after 5 days. It may be a great place for a seasoned dog who is used to being groomed, but the wide open space with noise of clippers, barking, and echoing voices wasn't calming AT ALL for my pup. She freaked and apparently was crying most of the two hours, and when I got the call to come get her, I was told that she wasn't finished, but I needed to pick her up. She was very unhappy and I didn't really get it until I got home and saw the nicks she suffered while being shaved. She has not being her usual puppy self since then. When I picked her up I was also told that she needed a doggie psychiatrist/behaviorist and she gave me someone's card. She has been socialized from the minute I got her, so that is not the issue. The issue is that she was hurt and scared. I wish I could undo that experience. Time will tell. read more

We had to find a new groomer after our long time groomer had us drop our 15 year old dog off at 0800 and did not finish him until 1700. All other times he was always ready for pick up within a few hours. Nine hours is entirely too long for a dog to be caged for a bath and haircut, especially a senior dog. I called Posh Puppies to see how they worked their appointments. I was glad to hear that they made appointments and would be done and ready for pick up within a couple hours.
