Great staff, great customer service, beautiful project finished…read more After reading some of the reviews here, I admit I was hesitant to go with Creative Countertops. But, I really wanted to deal with a local company, not some big outfit from across the water. Bill at Creative was great when I made my initial visit. He knows his stuff, took his time to explain everything, and followed up every question. I ended up picking a granite I never thought I would, but the price was right. It took couple of weeks for templating appointment, and then two weeks for the manufacture which they do on site with their giant machines. I really liked being able to review how my countertop pieces were being placed on the slabs I chose, and having the ability to tell the designer "please turn that one 90 degrees, to take advantage of that white area I want to see in the top right corner of the backsplash" etc., because they have photos of your slab they lay out on! The installation guys, that I ended up calling the "J crew" because all three of their names started with J, were extremely polite and professional. Yes, sadly we ran into couple of issues. Not with the extremely complicated pieces with 6 different angles that had to go into awkward places - those "weirdos" were all measured and fit perfectly. It was the rectangle backsplash piece that had an issue, and it was addressed on the spot, and resolved to my satisfaction within 2 days. Kudos to Creative to owning their mistake, owning it, and making it right. Overall, I would go with these guys again, and do recommend them. And no, they didn't ask me to write them a review.

They were extremely expensive yet performed unprofessionally. Two quartz pieces were miss cut, they gouged the side of an adjacent wood cabinet, and then retracted their offer to address inevitable chips because I missed their one-year window by a month. And the owner, Jason, whined about how hard it is to cut quartzite and said he wouldn't do any more quartzite work! Isn't that what they are supposed to be able to do well!? I redesigned the backsplash to save them from having to order a new slab of quartz, but they did have to recut the elevated area around the prep sink, as their first attempt was ludicrous. Unless you have no budgetary constraints, all the time in the world and the patience of a saint, go elsewhere.

My first encounter with them was when I was picking through their bone yard to come up with some quartz countertops for bathrooms in 2 houses. Anne was so accommodating working with me even though I knew she had so many other clients with big projects on her plate. As time went on our original countertop installer completely dropped the ball regarding the kitchen for both houses. Never ordered the quartz and never communicated the debacle to us. After many inquiries I found out that our colour choice had been discontinued. These were 2 custom homes. I reached out to Jason and Anne from Olympic they dove right in and saved the day, not without a ton of legwork, follow-up and extra effort to find the last two slabs in the US of the one quartz colour from the original order. The other order, let's just say, they are miracle workers. But it gets even better.... Original installer told me I needed more than the 2 slabs to do our kitchen and master bath, BUT Jason came out and cleverly templated our site. The countertops have a design that connotes a rhythm to it and their technicians (artists) cut the tops and waterfalls as to not interrupt its intent. From top to bottom this is a business that you will want to work with. You can see that everyone appears to enjoy their job and their clients. Refreshing in today's world.

We discussed the cost of the flooring of which I was interested in purchasing, and I told him I might just purchase the flooring and have someone else do the install. I asked him if they would give a discount to the outside installer for the flooring. He said yes if he was eligible. Then later, after thinking about it, I asked if he would give ME the same discount if I had GF to do the install. I was appalled at his response. He had an immediate personality change and raised his voice to me and very rudely said 'NO!', that the company had to pay HIM, they had to keep the lights on, and yadeyadeyada and so on. I felt his behavior was totally inexcusable, and I felt belittled as I sat there speechless. It made no sense to me that they could give the outside installer a discount but not the customer who would have had the company to do the installation. In either event, if it was okay to give the outside installer the discount, but yet not work with me for the same discount and get GF business. He would still need to be paid and they would still need to have the lights on. A few days later, I went back to GF to return a wood sample board. As I walked in, Ed was not present, but GF Rep, JOSH WOOD, was there to kindly and politely help me. A HUGE difference in night and day with salesmanship! I told him I was just returning the sample to ED, and that I had decided to go elsewhere to purchase my flooring. He asked me if there was anything he could do to change my mind. I told him of my personal experience with Ed and that I was not happy. He asked me to sit down and see what he could do to keep my business. JOSH gave me an incredible discount on my purchase because of my bad experience with ED 'to keep my business'. He even took the time with me to discuss the different qualities of flooring of which Ed didn't seem interested in doing without my asking. JOSH offered his personal opinion on flooring selections that would work well with my carpet color. I made my purchase with JOSH and was extremely happy with my dealings with him. I just wish I had read the GF reviews BEFORE my first trip there as at the time, there were all sorts of outstanding reviews about JOSH WOOD! He would have been my pick in the first place. Without Josh earning my business, I would have taken my business elsewhere. And guess what! I am now ready to make another flooring purchase, and it will definitely be with JOSH WOOD just because of his good manners and professional salesmanship.
