But, I really wanted to deal with a local company, not some big outfit from across the water. Bill at Creative was great when I made my initial visit. He knows his stuff, took his time to explain everything, and followed up every question. I ended up picking a granite I never thought I would, but the price was right. It took couple of weeks for templating appointment, and then two weeks for the manufacture which they do on site with their giant machines. I really liked being able to review how my countertop pieces were being placed on the slabs I chose, and having the ability to tell the designer "please turn that one 90 degrees, to take advantage of that white area I want to see in the top right corner of the backsplash" etc., because they have photos of your slab they lay out on! The installation guys, that I ended up calling the "J crew" because all three of their names started with J, were extremely polite and professional. Yes, sadly we ran into couple of issues. Not with the extremely complicated pieces with 6 different angles that had to go into awkward places - those "weirdos" were all measured and fit perfectly. It was the rectangle backsplash piece that had an issue, and it was addressed on the spot, and resolved to my satisfaction within 2 days. Kudos to Creative to owning their mistake, owning it, and making it right. Overall, I would go with these guys again, and do recommend them. And no, they didn't ask me to write them a review.

They were extremely expensive yet performed unprofessionally. Two quartz pieces were miss cut, they gouged the side of an adjacent wood cabinet, and then retracted their offer to address inevitable chips because I missed their one-year window by a month. And the owner, Jason, whined about how hard it is to cut quartzite and said he wouldn't do any more quartzite work! Isn't that what they are supposed to be able to do well!? I redesigned the backsplash to save them from having to order a new slab of quartz, but they did have to recut the elevated area around the prep sink, as their first attempt was ludicrous. Unless you have no budgetary constraints, all the time in the world and the patience of a saint, go elsewhere.

Thankfully they have not yet completely vanished. From beginning to end, Bill Ullrich and his two sons, Chase and Hans, were a pleasure to work with. They built and installed my new upper kitchen cabinets, and then modified and refaced the lower cabinets, with a level of skill and attention to detail that I've seldom seen before. Yet their prices were at or below those of their several local competitors. The installation required three full days. So, of course, I offered to let them keep their tools and equipment in place until they returned on the second and third days. Despite my offer, they insisted on completely cleaning up the workspace and removing all of their tools and protective coverings at the end of each work day. Except for the visible parts of the cabinets that had not yet been installed, you might not have even known that my kitchen was under construction. It was simply amazing. The quality of his workmanship wasn't so much the issue- but his attention to detail during the templating process. We chose two granite slabs for a large project which involved a 9 foot island and smaller project for another home. One of the slabs had a river of quartz running through the middle and was templated to be the center focal point of the island. When installation day came, we were surprised to find that the island had no quartz running through the center. We couldn't figure out what went wrong. When the second granite countertop was delivered to our daughter's home for install- there it was. The quartz was placed in front of the kitchen sink. This mistake really showed a lack of caring for customer wishes and a template appointment that was a waste of time. Pretty disappointing. Seams weren't that inconspicuous- I've since had other stone projects with smaller seams.

Instead of answering those questions, Tom responded in a dismissive and unprofessional way, asking whether I had read the estimate or looked at their website, and saying I could call him if I was "serious about doing business" with them. As a customer, I believe it is completely normal to ask detailed questions before hiring a contractor, especially for a home project involving cost, materials, and installation details. The lack of clear answers and the tone of the response made me lose confidence in moving forward with this company. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company if you expect clear communication and respectful customer service.

My first encounter with them was when I was picking through their bone yard to come up with some quartz countertops for bathrooms in 2 houses. Anne was so accommodating working with me even though I knew she had so many other clients with big projects on her plate. As time went on our original countertop installer completely dropped the ball regarding the kitchen for both houses. Never ordered the quartz and never communicated the debacle to us. After many inquiries I found out that our colour choice had been discontinued. These were 2 custom homes. I reached out to Jason and Anne from Olympic they dove right in and saved the day, not without a ton of legwork, follow-up and extra effort to find the last two slabs in the US of the one quartz colour from the original order. The other order, let's just say, they are miracle workers. But it gets even better.... Original installer told me I needed more than the 2 slabs to do our kitchen and master bath, BUT Jason came out and cleverly templated our site. The countertops have a design that connotes a rhythm to it and their technicians (artists) cut the tops and waterfalls as to not interrupt its intent. I had to push very hard to get some of the quality issues fixed and it involved multiple trips. I will do much more research next time before I pay someone to do any work in my house again.

The quartz looks…read moregreat, it was cut well to the shape of my kitchen, and the seam between 2 countertop pieces is practically invisible. The process from enquiring to ordering was very straightforward and easy to engage with. I was able to go and view the quartz prior to them cutting it to shape. The only road bump we hit was with installation. For the most part it was a good installation job, but it turned out that one of my cabinets was a bit higher than the others, which wasn't visible with the old counters. The installation team pointed out to me that they had to put an additional piece of wood under the counter in that location, but they didn't point out that it then made that counter higher than the others, and I didn't see that when they showed me. I only noticed the height difference after the installers left. My feedback is that I would have liked the installers to have been more explicit about this height difference before they glued the quartz down. I was relying on Integrity Stonework to be the experts for this installation, so trusted that they would point items like this out. After the installation, I had to pay an additional company to come in and remove the countertop to adjust the cabinet before gluing the quartz down again as Integrity Stonework did not offer to come and fix it, despite my request to them to make good on this. To be fair, the installation team did point out a different issue with countertop leveling in a different part of the kitchen prior to gluing items down. I think the height differential was just an unfortunate hiccup as part of this journey, so be thorough and ask to check the countertops prior to anything being glued down!
