From the beginning, Eric and Cole were very responsive & helpful in assisting us with material and color selections and suggested products with superior quality & durability while staying within our budget. After months of shopping around, we decided to have David's team install LVP, carpet and handle all our millwork and casings which included complicated compound angles on our staircase. Their workmanship and attention to detail was very professional and more than met our picky expectations. The old-school honesty and integrity of everyone on David's team was truly refreshing. Eric managed our project and kept it on-time and on-budget. His attention to communication was impressive & timely even at 10pm at night and on weekends. From the start, when I walked into their storefront for the first time to get some information, to…read morethe finished install, Hardware Plus was great. I wanted to replace old carpet and pad in a converted garage space (now a family room) along with leveling out a slight slope in one of the corners. After talking with the guy at the front office space (sorry, I forget his name), I was able to get some good information about the products they carried and a rough understanding of what the process would be. A day or two later, Erik meets me at my house with a few sample boards and to take a look at the space (approximately 360 sq ft). I showed him a mockup I created for color reference and we went through the samples, comparing color, softness, thickness, pile and quality. None of the boards he brought matched all that I wanted (either right pile and softness but wrong color or visa-versa) so we scheduled a time to meet in the storefront. When I arrived, Erik and I pulled out several sample boards with potential candidates based on the discussion we had earlier and he patiently waited and answered questions as I narrowed down my options until I finally landed on carpet that met my requirements. He was able to give me a pretty close cost estimate right then, so I knew it was within budget and the official estimate came just a few hours later. I scheduled the install, which would take two days since I wanted to level is concrete slab also and time was needed to cure the self-leveler compound. On the day of the install Erik and his install team, headed up by José, arrived and quickly got to work. A fairly deep crack in the slab was discovered, causing us to need more leveler than expected (although Erik brought some extra bags just in case). José came back in the evening on the same day to see how the leveler did and after seeing that there was still a depression where the crack was, he went to work adding a thicker, quick drying compound to level it all out. The next day, the installers, with José, came in, validated the floor was level and the compound was cured and proceeded to install the pad and carpet quickly and cleanly. All the while, Erik was in constant communication with me either on the phone, via text message or in person. When any concerns or questions arrived, they were resolved or answered quickly. I am impressed by the quality of customer server and the finished results and would recommend Hardwood Plus for carpet installs.

I asked him if they would give a discount to the outside installer for the flooring. He said yes if he was eligible. Then later, after thinking about it, I asked if he would give ME the same discount if I had GF to do the install. I was appalled at his response. He had an immediate personality change and raised his voice to me and very rudely said 'NO!', that the company had to pay HIM, they had to keep the lights on, and yadeyadeyada and so on. I felt his behavior was totally inexcusable, and I felt belittled as I sat there speechless. It made no sense to me that they could give the outside installer a discount but not the customer who would have had the company to do the installation. In either event, if it was okay to give the outside installer the discount, but yet not work with me for the same discount and get GF business. He would still need to be paid and they would still need to have the lights on. A few days later, I went back to GF to return a wood sample board. As I walked in, Ed was not present, but GF Rep, JOSH WOOD, was there to kindly and politely help me. A HUGE difference in night and day with salesmanship! I told him I was just returning the sample to ED, and that I had decided to go elsewhere to purchase my flooring. He asked me if there was anything he could do to change my mind. I told him of my personal experience with Ed and that I was not happy. He asked me to sit down and see what he could do to keep my business. JOSH gave me an incredible discount on my purchase because of my bad experience with ED 'to keep my business'. He even took the time with me to discuss the different qualities of flooring of which Ed didn't seem interested in doing without my asking. JOSH offered his personal opinion on flooring selections that would work well with my carpet color. I made my purchase with JOSH and was extremely happy with my dealings with him. Install happened on time, work was done professionally, and the end result looks great.
