Here is a 'shout out' for JOSH WOOD, a Great Floors (GF) Rep in Silverdale! A while back, I went into Great Floors in Silverdale as a first-time buyer of flooring, and the Rep who initially helped me was ED MURILLO. We discussed the cost of the flooring of which I was interested in purchasing, and I told him I might just purchase the flooring and have someone else do the install. I asked him if they would give a discount to the outside installer for the flooring. He said yes if he was eligible. Then later, after thinking about it, I asked if he would give ME the same discount if I had GF to do the install. I was appalled at his response. He had an immediate personality change and raised his voice to me and very rudely said 'NO!', that the company had to pay HIM, they had to keep the lights on, and yadeyadeyada and so on. I felt his behavior was totally inexcusable, and I felt belittled as I sat there speechless. It made no sense to me that they could give the outside installer a discount but not the customer who would have had the company to do the installation. In either event, if it was okay to give the outside installer the discount, but yet not work with me for the same discount and get GF business. He would still need to be paid and they would still need to have the lights on. A few days later, I went back to GF to return a wood sample board. As I walked in, Ed was not present, but GF Rep, JOSH WOOD, was there to kindly and politely help me. A HUGE difference in night and day with salesmanship! I told him I was just returning the sample to ED, and that I had decided to go elsewhere to purchase my flooring. He asked me if there was anything he could do to change my mind. I told him of my personal experience with Ed and that I was not happy. He asked me to sit down and see what he could do to keep my business. JOSH gave me an incredible discount on my purchase because of my bad experience with ED 'to keep my business'. He even took the time with me to discuss the different qualities of flooring of which Ed didn't seem interested in doing without my asking. JOSH offered his personal opinion on flooring selections that would work well with my carpet color. I made my purchase with JOSH and was extremely happy with my dealings with him. I just wish I had read the GF reviews BEFORE my first trip there as at the time, there were all sorts of outstanding reviews about JOSH WOOD! He would have been my pick in the first place. Without Josh earning my business, I would have taken my business elsewhere. And guess what! I am now ready to make another flooring purchase, and it will definitely be with JOSH WOOD just because of his good manners and professional salesmanship. Can't say enough about Great Floors; Josh worked with us to find the right floors at a price we were happy with. The installation team they sent over was fantastic, and they handled some surprises we found in our house with no problems or hassles. Kudos also to Daniel at DND Flooring LLC for a great job installing, including replacing tile on the fireplace that wasn't as attached as we thought. Excellent service, professionalism and fine craftsmanship deservedly earned loyalty! So when we decided to replace old carpet in the master suite of our own home we called Rachael Wood at Great Floors in Silverdale. We wanted oak hardwood flooring to match what was in place throughout the rest of the main floor for 16 years. Rachel recommended Jack Stone Hardwood Flooring. We worked with Jack directly after the referral. His estimate was fair and he did the work on schedule and within the budget. That's something in itself as you might know if you have remodeled. But, his workmanship was stellar! Far better than the original flooring. He tied it in beautifully. And....wait for this now; there was virtually no dust and very little oder. We are so happy! Thank you Jack and thank you Rachel. This isn't the end of the story: you see we didn't realize we could not get a rug the size we needed for the new hardwood hallway and bedroom. So we called Rachel again and explained the dilemma. She said, come on in and see if you can find carpet you like and we can have it cut to size and bound like a rug. What! You can do that....OMG! Our new carpet turned out better than expected thanks to Ed Murillo at Great Floors. After visiting two other stores, it was clear Ed had a cut above product knowledge about carpet. He explained clearly the differences in between the carpet fibers, their thickness, their wearability, trending colors and as well as described the differences in the selection of padding. Ed listened to our needs and considered our budget and made recommendations that worked for us. They came out within that week, measured our home and gave us a clear estimate for the carpet and labor installation. Ed works with professional installers who have skilled technical knowledge and experience. The installers showed up on time, were organized, meticulous, focused and thorough doing an excellent job cutting, fitting and stretching the carpet even around the corners, doorways and stairs. The seams were just about invisible. The outcome was handsome new carpet that was laid beautifully that made our home look fresh, attractive and stylish and all within our budget. I tried this store twice with negative results. The first time I had an appointment for someone to measure for carpet. I was closing escrow on a home and had a brief window of time to get measurements and get out. The rep never showed and when I called him he explained he forgot all about it but at the moment he was too busy with a client to help me. Yesterday, I came in to look for tile for the kitchen. The two men at the desk did not bother to greet us. I called one over to ask for assistance and he made it clear he was not interested in helping. My husband and I were the only two in the store at the time. Not a good feeling. I will not return. We found our tile at a great family run business who were extremely helpful and we felt like valued customers. read more

I came in needing a quote for a couple of bedrooms to be carpeted and redone, the entire staff is extremely knowledgeable, and while I was there I had a project for tile in my kitchen and needed some Schlueter rods. They were kind enough to give me the exact size I needed which was not available at Home Depot, on the house! A frustrating carpet installation. The staff refused to measure the closet interiors while measuring my home. Unsurprisingly, they underpurchased the materials which was only discovered in the middle of install day. The crew installed as much as they could and left my stairs unfinished for four weeks until more product arrived. The staff tried to blame it on the distributor instead of owning their mistake. The install crew only swept after removing the old carpet. I pointed out the pine needles, dust, dead bugs, etc. that remained along the room perimeters. The crew was unbothered by it. They finally agreed to use my personal vacuum cleaner (to make me quiet) but only did a brisk pass along half of one room before installing the new carpet over the remaining debris. The installation process left my professionally painted walls scuffed up in every room. The carpet was cut too short in several places resulting in gaps at the baseboards. In a few places, the carpet doesn't lay flat and the loops are snagged. I spoke up about these issues multiple times only to be rebuffed. Was it their pride, or because I'm a woman, that they ignored me? read more

Scott was so patient and helpful with our carpet and LVP purchase and install. Our decorator was able to find the perfect carpet to match our walls and doors. Because we, not Great Floors, were so glacial in ordering our chosen LVP, it was sold out. However, Scott found 3 choices that were even better matches with our doors and fireplace. How serendipitous! The flooring installers were workhorses. Crew chief Juan, and his team of 4 polite, quiet, talented assistants, did an astounding job in matching the carpet pattern when seams were necessary. The stairs are perfection. I found less than a small handful of small nicks, from carpet installation, in the recently painted baseboards and walls. Such a pleasant surprise. The LVP installation, in a herringbone pattern, is also perfection. Juan pulled off the most intricate cuts at door openings, including 1 cut where 2 doors, into two different spaces, were only inches apart. He even continued the herringbone pattern into two small closets. I am so pleased with this Great Floors experience. I'm sorry to only give 3 stars. The sales staff (notably Dean) did a great job helping us select the LVP and carpet for our new home. He is knowledgeable about the product they sell, and went above to close the deal. However, trouble started with the install. I LVP installers were also knowledgeable about the product and answered are questions. But boy did they leave a mess - like everywhere, and did nothing to help. I complained but i cleaned up the mess, which took a few hours. They had to return to finish the job, which was super inconvenient, and they left a mess again. Then the carpet guys broke my shelving system in my closet and never told me! To be fair, they knocked $200 bucks off our finial bill as a olive branch about the cleaning. I wouldn't use again, but it's hard to say that i wouldn't recommend. read more

I have had a wonderful experience with great floors. Initially I carpeted my house with them about a year ago, and they did a fantastic job. I ended up having stain issues and Great Floors help me process a warranty claim with Stainmaster and they have now replaced it all with an even better product. The installers are courteous and professional and my sales rep, Rachel Wood is a rockstar. I wanted a carpet they didn't carry, so she ordered a sample of it so that we could compare it to the products she had and we found an identical match. Had quotes from Home Depot & Lowes, decided to try to support local business and go to Great Floors. There is nothing great about their customer service. As another reviewer wrote, minimal staff, will not even acknowledge you when you walk through the door. Even while looking at choices of carpet, had to go find a salesperson and ask him to come help us at the display. They did not answer questions we had. Only reason I went with Great Floors is because they promised me an install date when I was making the deposit, but them pushed the date weeks out once they got my money. It's almost like they don't really care about selling carpet. Was promised a "crew" for install day, even paid extra for furniture moving. Day of install and one guy shows up, and I had to help him move my own furniture! Still have not received any warranty paperwork, even though have asked several times. read more

Worst customer service ever. When I arrived I was the only car in the parking lot only person in the store. A young girl greeted me quick enough and started to help me. All the other sale associates were just sitting at there desks. We were looking at some porcelain tile and she went to get prices for me. I waited 15 min then went to look for her because I noticed the tile I was looking at was ceramic not porcelain and didn't need the price. There she was helping someone else who had come in. Dean was great about assisting me with a price quote - even revised it several times. However, he failed to mention that the financing he quoted was about to expire. This has caused us many hours of research to recover what we thought was a good deal. The salesperson I worked with wasn't helpful, but if you can get by their sales crew, their warehouse manager (Dillon) and their installer (Clyde) are incredible! Also, even the guy who measures your house is a nice guy. Oh and the manager of the store was great too. But yes, I echo what other people say--you're pretty much ignored when you walk in the store, they really don't help you find the floors (we did all that on our own), they just kind of aim you over there. My salesperson was rather rude in emails and I wish I would have found someone else instead of her, but we were already moving forward. We were at Great Floors shopping for carpet hardwood and bathroom tile when lucky for us we overheard a very polite customer inquiring about having her carpet stretched. She purchased the carpet at "Great Floors" 18 months ago. Salesman was quick to point out "Great Floors" install warranty is 1 year, customer stated that she still wanted the carpet repaired and was willing to pay for it. Salesman explained she must have purchased cheap carpet and she should look in the Yellow pages for someone to fix her problem. What the heck do you not have installers that could fix that, the customer never asked for anything for free she just needed her carpet repaired, and great floors had no interest in helping this customer. Customer lowered her head and left the building, we were shocked..... "Great Floors" is interested in "Great Profit" not great customer service. Worst construction experience I have ever had. Many cancelled work days. Defective wood installed, did not ordered enough wood, would only work a few hours than leave. A 3 day job is on week 3 now and still not resolved. The manager did not care and kept coming up with excuses. My favorite was cancelled due to rain. Good God we live in Washington state. Went in on a Wednesday afternoon looking for some vinyl flooring availability. Nicole Stewart was friendly, personable, and knowledgeable, pointing out some new patterns and letting me know their general availability and delivery schedule. I took phone pics, showed my wife and called back, the warehouse was closed, but as promised she called first thing Thursday and let me know that we could squeeze an order on the Friday deliver. Parents recommend you. Went through Costco to get a quote on carpet for our two bedrooms, stairs and hallway. I received a call the same day as the i requested the quote, and was able to have someone come a few hours later! The gentleman was very prompt and polite, and had all of the samples ready for me to decide! Once I finally picked out the color, they ordered the carpet and scheduled installation.
