    Chicken fried steak.
    Jerry P.

Had dinner here tonight. The service was outstanding!. One of the servers was being trained, and the two of them were super kind, and efficient. I ordered the cod fish fillet for dinner. It came with mashed potatoes and gravy as well as chicken and dumpling soup. I also had with a cornbread biscuit. The fish fillet mashed potatoes and gravy were very very bland. No flavor to any of it. The presentation was nice and the fish was flaky, but really no flavor to speak of. The cornbread muffin was so crumbly. You could not cut it open to put butter in it. It just fell apart. I had to eat it with my fork off of my plate. My wife had a patty melt and fries. She said it was nice, but nothing special. The fries all were delicious. My father-in-law had chicken fried steak and he seemed to like it just fine. The atmosphere is old school and seems pretty tame and quiet for the most part. Tonight they were only four other tables that had people seated and it still took 45 minutes to get our food. I think the Cook was a little behind with what little people were there. I would stop in again just for the atmosphere and the gift shop, but would not come here for the food. I've been here a dozen times and the quality of the food is hit and miss.

Pork Wienerschnitzel w mash and gravy

We visited on a Sunday and sat in the bar. The bar offers slot machines, drink specials and friendly staff. We tried the cheese fondue. The cheese was amazing and the brown bread tasty. The sourdough was a bit dry. The pork schnitzel had a nice crust on it and came on a bed of cabbage. There was tooo much gravy on the entire dish. I scraped what I could off and went with that amount. Each element was tasty and enough for two people or in my case three meals. I had read in one of the reviews that being a German restaurant there weren't enough German dishes on the menu, but I found several on the menu and my dish today was very good. I'd go back again for sure!!

Beef Stroganoff! It has that wine twang!

This is a delicious stop for dishes on the European slant, in addition to mainstay diner dishes. Beautiful waterwheel and flower displays. I love how the servers are in dirndle outfits. They also have a gift shop. Lots of parking. Large servings. I got the beef Stroganoff and it was special. It had the twang in the creamy, beautiful sauce. The meat chunks and mushrooms were super soft and tasty. The buttered noodles were perfectly cooked and actually grabbed the creamy sauce. It's satisfying but not overly fat rich, but I am sure it was. I felt so good for hours after eating.

We were seated immediately and served beverages. We ordered the fondue to start. It looks runny but full of flavor. As the cheese gets cooler it thickens. Super flavorful! The razor clams, eggs and hash browns were unique and tender. All our food was good. Service was good initially, then was a bit slow to get refills or our check. We would come back though!

I love Heidi's and come at least once every week. Today I'm working a double on my job so I ordered food and picked it up specifically asked for real butter. I don't eat margarine. they gave me margarine anyway I had to go all the way back up to Heidi's and ask for Real butter. The lady at the counter said that's real butter, I explained it is not real butter. You have real butter in pack. Once she realized I knew what I was talking about she went and got real butter for me. The lady kept telling me I did have real butter, I told her the real butter comes in packs. I know the difference she decided to go get me the real butter I paid $10.47 for a load of hash brown. It was so small. She said they usally make it little bigger. I'm very very disappointed in Heidi's. Juanita B

It's such a cute restaurant. We popped in on a Saturday for brunch. They were fairly busy, but we were sat tight away. The service was really good. A few different people checked in on us. We ordered chocolate chip pancakes and the Swedish pancakes. The chocolate chip pancakes were so fluffy, and they were huge! The whipped cream tasted like it was made in house and was delicious. The Swedish pancakes came with a sauce over the top of them, but it was SO MUCH SAUCE. It really drowned the pancakes. This also came with bacon, and the bacon wasn't crispy. It was rather limp. The coffee was good though. They've got a pretty big menu and there's a few other things I'd like to try.

Breakfast was so delicious!! Chicken fried steak had the best flavor and came with good sides, lots of choices. Shannon was in great spirits for a busy Saturday morning. Love the cute little booths in the bar and quaint feel to the lounge. Eggs Benedict was spot on. Not a lot of places give you that much hollandaise sauce. And get a pancake !!! Something delicious going on there.

Can't believe it was 10 years ago, tomorrow, that we came to eat at Heidi's! Our waiter was very nice to us, at the end, I told him: I can't believe you guys are getting 3.5 review ratings, I'll do an update and give you 4 stars! We ordered the Pork Weinerschnitzel, red cabbage and mashed potatoes. Onion soup & vegetable soup. AND German Sausage dinner, with sauerkraut, hot German potato salad. Mustard, not in photo. Half was to-go for another meal. Also, chocolate cake & Caramel Pecan Roll, all to go. Their restroom is very clean!

    Meat/ Eggs. $16.25.
    Tom B.

Meh. Dropped by for a quick meal. Tried the meat and eggs. Asked for bacon, got sausage. Poached eggs a little under. Hash browns, not much and not crisp. $16.25. Not worth it. Service was a little confused I was told our economy is so great, why does it feel like we're always getting screwed This is a Gresham institution. Don't know if we'll return

German omelette - sausage good. Hash browns mushy
    Lucas W.

I do love an old school diner. Heidi's has the character and the vibe of an old school diner. It's great. Everyone was super friendly, good came quickly, reasonable prices too. I got the German sausage omelette and added some green peppers. It needed the breen peppers for some texture and freshness but the German sausage was amazing and super flavorful. Great wurst. The hash browns were pretty average though as they were not super flavorful and a bit mushy - they just needed to be flipped and crisped up. Would definitely go back and looking forward to my leftovers!

I ordered the Hope's Mess with eggs over easy, a biscuit, and sausage patty and the youngster ordered the Huevos Rancheros. I was told that Hope was now living my wife's ideal life while her partner lived mine. Hope rolled in later and the partner was there first thing so she was not there. We got drinks as well and waited a perfectly reasonable time for our food. Rich, creamy country gravy, perfectly cooked eggs, good coffee. My companion enjoyed his food also, but since it's not my spouse, I didn't feel comfortable stealing a bite to report directly. Always a pleasure to stop in, bring a sticky bun home, and visit with nice people in the community.

Lots of mature patrons. ie. not young. Wife ordered the Denver omelette, I did the ribeye steak breakfast. Steak is marked as market price. At this time it means $29.95. Food came out pretty quickly. Sadly we had some problems. The ribeye cut is pretty thin. First time out came out raw in the middle, the refire cooked it too much. Quite a bit of fat on the cut. Not a huge fan and wouldn't order it again. Hash browns were not super warm, over easy eggs were fine. They offer two sizes of omelette, wife was going to get the full and take some home. Didn't specify and server didn't ask. Ended up getting the half omelette, evidently. OK. Don't really cook the veggies much and they were pretty crunchy. Again hash browns just warm. With tip meal was north of $55. Servers were friendly and accommodating Not sure we will return. Bummer

Not really I regretted I didn't have a bigger stomach. ;) There was no way I could finish my food in one setting. I got good old biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs. I feel I got a potful of sausage and gravy instead of a ladleful. I couldn't find my biscuits for a few seconds. I also got a side order of sausage. Yea it was too much. Overall five stars. Great tasting stick to your bones meal. Even when it's reheated. The service was on the spot. She worked hard and kept smiling the whole time. And for the price well, well, WELL worth it.
