Truffle Salmon Blue Crab | IG @moniquedao

The Truffle Salmon With Real Crab looked interesting on their menu, and being a truffle lover, I had to try. It was decadent! It has all my favorite things in one bite - salmon, truffle, and REAL crab, not that imitation stuff. The presentation is also beautiful. The roll is placed on a nice green leaf, set on a bed of tiny branches, in a bowl filled with ice, garnished with tiny sprouts. It was also very filling. This is probably my new favorite thing! The Baked Scallop was also scrumptious. They're hot and savory. I love the pretty shells they were served on. :) The Rainbow Roll was also delectable. Every piece of fish is fresh and feels high quality. Overall we enjoyed our visit. Definitely coming back.

Heemo is one of my favorite sushi spots in Orange, and they have multiple locations! I love dining in or taking my food to-go, and their food is always fresh, delicious and consistently good. I always get their salmon sushi, seared with Cajun pepper, and their udon combo. The rice-to-salmon ratio is perfect, and the Cajun pepper on the seared salmon adds the perfect amount of flavor. When I'm craving both noodles and sushi, I'll get the udon combo with a spicy tuna roll. The spicy tuna is always fresh and has just the right amount of heat. Heemo is consistently delicious, fresh and quick, with plenty of indoor seating and a super clean dining area. The staff is always friendly and attentive whenever I dine in, which makes the experience even better. I'll definitely be back soon and highly recommend Heemo if you're looking for a solid sushi spot that's reasonably priced!

HUGE portions and very fresh salmon carpaccio and DHA roll. Nice plating as well. The baked scallop was too mayonnaise-y and mostly stringy dry imitation crab. Service, although very friendly, was quite slow because there was only one server in the restaurant. The food came out pretty quickly though!

Sweetie Roll, Avocado Roll, and deep fried eggplant!

Great environment, food, and atmosphere! My daughter and I are both vegetarian, and there were plenty of options for us--I got the Sweetie Roll and she got the Avocado Roll! We also shared the fried eggplant, which was delicious. My only complaint (and the reason I give 4 stars instead of 5) is that the service is not as good as it could be. Our waiter was nice, but he only came to bring drinks and food--he never returned to the table or checked on us. Other than that, great restaurant!

Great AYCE place with lots of options. Pretty popular spot do there was a bit of a wait. It can accommodate a large group (8+) but again, plan ahead. Service was quick and friendly. We didn't have any problems with finding parking.

Services were great! They gave us free scallops on the house so I thought that was neat. My favorite was the giant salmon and the mango rolls! It was rrally good and very fulfilling. I would definitely come back. We were LOADED

Pretty but gave us food poisoning

This used to be our go to, we used to love this place, now the service is mediocre and the food makes us sick. Server: Name started with a J but other than that she mostly hid in the back. Ordered two sodas but had to ask another server due to her forgetting to bring it. She also did not bring out food, or offer a check. Overall do not understand how she is still employed here. Ambiance: The menus are new and very clear and visibility appealing. Food: Fish is old and had a bad smell. When telling the server she simply said "Sorry" but did nothing to attempt to resolve the problem. Overall: Food looks pretty but appearances are highly deceiving.

Heemo Sushi brings bold flavors, big rolls, and a surprisingly fun atmosphere--perfect for families, celebrations, or anyone craving generous portions. Parking & Vibe Plenty of parking (love that), spotless inside and out, and the holiday decorations gave the space a warm, festive touch. ‍‍ Family-Friendly + Celebration Energy Heemo earns bonus points for a solid kids menu (ages 8 and under) with options like chicken teriyaki, popcorn chicken, tonkatsu, and even a tempura party--each served with rice, waffle fries, and a drink. And if you're celebrating? They go full send with birthday chants and sake bomb chants--definitely adds to the fun. Service Started strong, but we definitely felt the shift change when our server disappeared and follow-up stalled. Not a dealbreaker, just noticeable. Rolls & Flavors Heemo's specialty rolls are huge--hard to eat in one bite but absolutely feel worth the price. Presentation was on point, and the flavors delivered. We tried: * Heemo Roll - spicy, crunchy, and saucy in all the right ways. * Sunkist - bright, citrusy, refreshing. * Midnight - deep-fried indulgence with jalapeño heat. * King Salmon - bold, layered, and generous. * Truffle Salmon Blue Crab - luxuriously balanced. Plus a crispy, satisfying salmon skin hand roll. Final Thoughts Great portions, lively energy, family-friendly touches, and solid flavors make Heemo Sushi a worthy stop. Minor service dip aside, Heemo brings big bites, big vibes, and elite-worthy value.

Food is always excellent Service is great . Ambience is a cool relaxed vibe :) My favorite sushi restaurant by far ! #1

    Golden Tiger Roll

Been a while since I have been here. Nice and friendly faces as soon as you walk in. Our server Adriane was super sweet. She suggested I try a roll called '4 Corner Roll' and it was really good! I would definitely get that one again. The kitchen sent out some salmon belly on the house and that was a nice surprise. It was delicious and my toddler loved it too. Will be coming back for sure.

Heemo is still one of my favorite places to go get my sushi fix and they have not been skimping on sushi slices so I've been more than happy when visiting here. Service has been great lately and they are fast at helping you.

(Late post, this review is for 12/31/25) Heemo is now my place to go for Japanese food. Conveniently located at the corner of Katella & Tustin which has plenty of parking. Food is delicious & price is reasonable. Service was quick & attentive. My daughter wants to come here for her birthday (her favorite place). We ordered Double Baked Salmon ($16), Caliente ($18). Caliente is my daughter's absolute favorite. She will order this plate every single time we go. Sunkist ($16) Double Albacore ($16) Popcorn crawfish ($8). All were excellent except Popcorn Crawfish (mostly just the fried batters) After we finished our food, the birthday celebration begins. Light was dimmed, up beats birthday song on the speaker. The waitresses came to our table to give the bday girl a build in lighted paper flower crown to wear on her head while clapping & singing a birthday song. They also brought a plate of Green Tea flavor fried mochi ice cream with candle. The Mochi ice cream was so so good & it's free. It was so special. What a nice surprise! Since then, we have been back many times, especially on our birthdays. Thank you Heemo & staffs for the great experience. We will see you soon

California Roll was delicious. And the spicy tina roll was great with a spicy kick.

In my opinion, low to medium quality sushi. One caveat, their ramen is Korean instant ramen, don't order, not worth $9. Not going again.

Ask the Community - Heemo Sushi

This place is marked as having outdoor seating. Is it still available?

I haven't seen outdoor seating there since the pandemic started. They may have had it at one point but the tables and chairs haven't returned as of a few weeks ago when I was last there.

Does restaurant have Happy Hour specials?

They do but you wont notice it on your bill cause they always tweek the prices so there's really not much of a discount.

    Do they offer delivery?

You can use a food delivery service like uber eats, but they don't deliver themselves.

Do they still have their 50% off promotion?

    No they do not

Is there phone number even working?

Works once a month when we order. This is from their website Call us at 714-997-9953

Is the 50% off also for AYCE?

No. They're not doing AYCE right now.

How much is the charge for left overs?

Any establishment that offers "All you can eat" will generally charge you if there are left overs or waste. However, if the amount is small, I doubt Heemo Sushi will charge. It's bad for business and I suppose one could always state that it didn't…

How does the buy one get one free option work?

The BOGO applies to the category you order. For example, you may order Salmon sushi and your BOGO can be Albacore sushi. So you cannot order sushi and have your BOGO be a roll. BUT not everything on the menu is BOGO, the server normally lets you…

    What are the prices?

The $27 or ao price is for all you can eat, I believe. The single roll price was around $7 or $8+ dollars. The Kamakazi Roll was great.

    Do they have sake?

Yes, however, they are waiting on a re-submission for the establishment's alcohol license. This should be cleared up soon. However, if you're really in the need for some at your table bring in your favorite and share it with the chef...get a…

    How much is AYCE lunch?

As of January 2020, $23.95 or something like that. Basically $24 and the lunch AYCE is not offered on weekends. Weekends are AYCE dinner ~ $30.

Is this a Japanese owned or Korean owned sushi restaurant? Thank you!

Korean owned. Super friendly, quick service, and quality sushi.

Is there a certain menu only for all you can eat?

For Lunch you do have a specific selection for the AYCE which leaves out the Premium Expensive stuff $12+ items. The Dinner menu allows for all options. Pretty much everything…

What is inside the non-rice rolls? I cannot find any descriptions for those rolls

Usually, it's "California" fusion (Imitation Crab, Japanese Mayo, Garlic powder mixed). However, the Mr and Mrs Gaga rolls are usually Spicy Tuna and Spicy Salmon. The other non-rice rolls are usually a mix of the 3 mentioned.

We stopped by here on my birthday for a nice evening dinner. Got there a little before sunset. There's just something magical about eating outside during a sunset, especially at the Orange Plaza. The restaurant has such a cool look and vibe! We started off with the Hamachi crudo, salmon ceviche, and a bowl of clam "chowdah". The crudo was absolutely delicious, highly recommend. The salmon ceviche was really good but a bit heavy on the sauce for me. The clam chowder had whole clams in the shell throughout. That was fun to pick them out! For entrees we got the lean and mean plate with sea bass. It comes with salad and rice, we substituted the rice for black beans. We also got the skirt steak "bulgogi" which was served on top of mushrooms and bok choy with a sweet soy sauce. They accidentally brought out salmon instead of sea bass, but were very apologetic. They brought out a sea bass on the side and comped the entree to make up for it. Great service right there! The salmon and seabass were both delicious and cooked perfectly. The steak was tender and juicy, full of flavor. As a birthday gift they brought out a thai milk tea blondie sundae which was soooo good! Get it if you like sweets. I wish the owners all the best in their future endeavors, they created a great restaurant that many will miss. I'm so glad I gave it another try. We returned last night and sat at the sushi bar for the omakase, and the entire experience was excellent. The service was warm, attentive, and welcoming, and the omakase was fantastic from beginning to end. Each piece was beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared, with a great variety of fish, textures, and toppings. The fish tasted incredibly fresh, and several of the pieces were absolutely beautiful, especially the richer tuna and toro pieces and the delicate white fish. I also really enjoyed the traditional style of the experience. At the sushi bar, the first 10 pieces are chef's choice, and the focus is very much on the fish rather than elaborate American-style rolls. The progression of the omakase felt intentional, and it was fun seeing what would come next. Most importantly, the quality and service were completely different from the experience I wrote about all those years ago. It's only fair to update a review when a restaurant deserves it, and Ohshima absolutely did on this visit. We had a wonderful dinner and I would happily return.
