I hired this company because I saw that they were servicing my neighbor's pool. My current pool guy had been going up in price higher and higher so I thought I would get an estimate from my neighbor's pool guy to see if I could catch a break on price. So I spoke with the guy and he passed my message to the owner Allan and Allan came by and gave me a significantly lower estimate than my current service. So I gave my current service a 1 month notice and then Heat Wave started. Within 2 months my pool started to turn green and was gradually collecting debris that was not being removed. Now granted I do have a high maintenance pool which he saw and we discussed in its entirety when he came for the estimate. He saw the shrubbery around it and we discussed what happens in the winter with storms and I thought I was all set! He never told me he didn't have a vacuum in which how could you service a pool like mine without one?? He started the service in October of 2018 and by the end of November my pool was green. Then the complaints started from their end first and they wanted me to go out and empty skimmer baskets. My pool was green and there was dibris EVERYWHERE! What good would it do if I went to empty skimmer baskets and they have no vacuum and my pool is full of DEBRIS?! So I made my first call to Allan about the pool being green and his service guy leaving my pool pump in service mode (which made it run 24/7 directly attacking my electric bill) and he began to raise his voice to me and tell me that my pool was a nightmare as if he had never seen it! He then calmed down and started to address the issues and stated they would spend additional time on it in December and that I would have to pay an addition $35 which I did. My pool was filthy all winter including the spa. They never even got debris out of the spa! The storms were happening so I delayed starting my calls to new pool services until February. I then bit the dust and tried to get my old pool man back who was a master with my pool but unfortunately for me he had left my area but told me he would keep an eye out for me. Fast forward to March of 2019, I had started to look for a new service but Allan tells me they have purchased a vacuum and would be able to handle my pool as well as a few others they were having trouble with better now. Throughout the month of March there was 0 improvement to my pool conditions and ironically he calls me to quit on April 3rd. Of course, I am blown away by this because he stated he had bought the vacuum and that my pool conditions would change. He then stated that they would get it in good condition over the next couple of weeks but it would cost me an additional fee of something like $250!! We hung up and I frantically tried to reach out to the companies I had been playing phone tag with and one answered the phone!! I then called Allan back within 30 minutes of them basically quitting or me having to cough up $250 and agreed to part ways and he agreed to a full refund for the month of April which I had already paid for. So the new guy came out on April 5th and made my pool look like it did before I hired Heat Wave in less than 2 hours!!!! I couldn't believe my eyes! I hired him on the spot! So the month of May goes by and I am ecstatic with my new pool service but there is no refund check from Alan so I give him a text to inquire about my refund. He immediately agrees to put the check in the mail. So the check arrives in the amount of half for the month of April. So I text him to remind him that we concluded our business on April 3rd along with a copy of my canceled check to the new pool service showing the date of April 5th in which I had paid them and told him we had dissolved our business on April 3rd without them ever servicing my pool in April and they had been paid in full. He responded on text that they had serviced the pool for 2 weeks in April! Really? What would they have done? My pool was sparkling clean for the first time in months!!! So of course now I call him and he briefly states "I remember we serviced the pool in April for 2 weeks so you only get half of the refund and have a nice day" and then he hung up on me! I called once more and was promptly delivered to voicemail. This is my experience with Heat Wave Pool Service and Allan Frosh. Usually the moral of a story is that you get what you pay for but in this case--I didn't even get that! And in addition I got ripped off! I am just so happy that I have a great pool service today. Allan from HeatWave Pool Service was prompt in calling me back and setting up an appointment the next day. He kept in contact with me through text and phone even though I was out of town. I like the fact that he was upfront about the cost. (Which was reasonable) He even had to run all over town to get the correct parts for my pump. First off Allen gave me the advice to correct my not so clear pool. He had been talking to me on the phone and also stopped by for a consult. Apparently I did it all right. I also found out that they don't work on above ground pools, but he still helped me. I even offered to pay show up fee and he declined. BUYER BEWARE!! I ended up firing this pool service company after having a lot of negative texts and phone calls to Allan, the owner. He yelled at me numerous times over the phone and I couldn't get a copy of of my purchase of a new pump. I wanted the warranty and owners manual and was told to look it up on the internet! My pool was not usable for the better part of July and all of August. Many attempts were made to get the pool cared for properly, but I was given one excuse after another by the owner as to why things weren't being done. Finally, I said good bye when he started talking more expenses that I would incur. I would avoid at all costs...because that's what it's going to do...cost you extra in the long run. I have never encountered such rude behavior from the owner of their own business. Totally unacceptable when there are so many other companies that want your business. No stars from me. We were out if town and the person watching our house mentioned the pump stopped working and the pool was getting some algae along the walls. My ex use to clean my pool and we were together 9 years that when he left I thought I knew what to do. I had no idea! I got my pool milky but not clear. I then had to hire a pool company to clean my then black pool. They drained it, acid washed it the whole 9 yards and refilled it and I hired them to come for the weekly service. Unfortunately they stopped doing business but they did have Heat Wave Pool Service take over. Allan does a phenomenal job! He has been taking care of my pool about 6 months now. He comes weekly and my pool is still blue! I have recently covered my pool (so leaves don't fall in since it's winter) and Allan still comes and cleans and does the service. Allan even showed my son where we need to drain if our pool overflows during the winter when it rains - I never knew we could do that! Thank you for all that you do! We had a pool guy that had family issues and could not continue service so we decided to give this company a call our pool was starting to look cloudy and green with in the first week we had yard work done and a lot of the debris went in the pool so I cleaned as much out as possible and cleaned the filters and shocked it. The next time. The pool guy came out I spoke with the owner told him why it was turning and that I had added chemicals he informed me the employee didn't add chemicals because it tested high probably due to me adding them and to make sure to call and inform him prior to adding chemicals so we were told to test the water and let him know how it looked the next day. So when we did he Was frustrated saying they just added chemicals it shouldn't be low do I reminded him of our previous conversation which he said he didn't say that his guy didn't add chemicals. So he came by added some and told me he gave my roommate chemicals to add over the weekend when I asked her she said he didn't but he kept insisting he did. So the next day I sent a picture it was looking better but still really cloudy. He asked me to put the chemicals he left in when I reminded him That none was left he started to kind of argue them took it back saying I was right. He kept telling me my pool was loosing water which we've been here for years and have never had this problem. He said he could no longer service my pool because it takes too much chemicals. Needless to say we went to Leslie's I explained to them the pool turned due to weeds etc getting in the pool they tested my water gave me chemicals that are specifically for phosphates being high due to the greenery in the pool needless to say after adding the chemicals it took a little more than a day and our pool was crystal clear... instead of listening to why the pool was cloudy and hearing me he was looking for any other reason I don't understand how that is good business. Not to mention his employee smokes weed on the job... definitely would not recommend them! read more

When I bought my house a year ago, I inherited the pool service company that the previous owner was using. I know, I know... My bad. The pool never looked good the entire time I was using them. Always something on the bottom, top, and walls, even after a visit. After a weekly service visit where once again it still looked crummy, I called Heatwave Pool Service and Allan came out that afternoon. After looking the pool over he gave my a list of things that needed they would do that day to bring the pool up to the standard that they like the pool to be week to week. Allan did so without slamming my then current service company, just explained that he holds his company to a standard that matches what he would expect if he were a customer. He added a bunch of chemicals, adjusted how the filter and sweeper pumps were working, brushed the walls, and vacuumed the spa. A couple hours after he left the pool looked like I had always wanted. Perfect. The sweeper working correctly and the spa being clean were totally new to me. Stuff falls in the pool between visits but the sweeper working gets so much of what would sit there until the next visit. Heatwave is great. Very knowledgeable. Dedicated to a high level of service. Gave me the option of doing a drop out today, but also hooked up my vacuum, educated me about my system and said we could wait a few more days to see how it does. No sales pressure. After a totally negative experience with another service that left my pool the color and consistency of split pea soup, I called Heatwave on the recommendation of my neighbor. I am extremely grateful. After assessing the status and confirmation that my pool pump was not the reason for it, Allen took over the startover-drain, refill, new chemicals. My pool is beautiful, clear and swimmable. Allen oversaw the process until he was satisfied with the result, then introduced me to the employee taking over which helped allay concerns over who might be in my yard. We have a older larger pool, that had some kind of algae. Allan came by and told us how to clean it ourselves. He said it would save us money and just cost us our labor. We did as he suggested. Our pool looks so much better. He also showed us how to look for our leak. He was friendly, honest and has great customer service. We have now hired him for the full cleaning service.
