This was an unplanned stop for a quick bite to eat and honestly middle of the road with nothing noteworthy. If you are looking for a sports bar to watch a game while enjoying a drink and bite to eat this may be the spot for you. Maybe due to being no major sporting event it was extremely dead on Sunday around dinner time. Which was fine with me cause it was nice not dealing with an overly loud crowd. They had a large amount of drink options including some good beer options with tons of cocktails/full bar available as you'd expect from a sports bar. The bartender was friendly after some conversation but at first seemed in an off mood. I suppose possibly due to the fact work was so dead may be why. Thankfully the best part was the Philly Cheesesteak and fries we split. Both were tasty, even more so than I honestly expected. I went here late in the night and hung out up on the patio and it was such an energized and social vibe and perfect to finish off a night out. We pretty much went right up to rooftop bar when we got there which was a great choice but it seems like a decent amount of people were hanging out there too. Decent selection of drinks and not too high of prices considering it's downtown Denver and bartenders were all nice. I could see myself coming back here mainly for the rooftop patio. read more

Went to Hayters at 10am for Ohio state football watch party vs Marshall. The service was outstanding - friendly and attentive. Ample seating and excellent tv viewing options for watching the game. Gotta admit the experience was just OK since it was really crowded and noisy and it took over 30 minutes for me to get my burger for lunch but still giving it 4 stars. Mainly because I'm a huge Chicago Bears football fan and on Sundays, this is the place to be if you're a Bears fan. All the tv screens show the Bears game and tons of fans show up. Rooftop is nice, especially when the weather is good. When we sat down the server immediately greeted us and brought water. She asked if we needed some time to look at the menu and we said yes. It was probably 10 mins or so before she came back, however she did apologize. We ordered the Swishy Pants and Blood Orange Kolsh beers, as well as chips and queso. Beers were great. Queso was good (peppery if you are into that) but the chips seemed stale. There was a Broncos game in while we were there and if you expected to hear the game while it was on you'd be disappointed because there was a DJ playing. Came here for a rooftop view. It's a decent view. Ordered the strawberry tea cider and I really loved it. Had enough sweetness for me. I despise dry and bitter. This is a cool spot to go to after a Rockies game. I was following the crowds after a Friday night game and ended up here. There is a large open space which turned into a dance floor as the niht went on. The crowd gets packed quickly early on but slowly starts to calm down. There is a rooftop which you can head up and enjoy the warm air. The bartenders were quick and helpful when we ordered drinks. the worst service experience I've ever had. not only did I wait at the bar for 20 minutes the female bartender overlooked and harassed me and told me to leave after I said, excuse me to try and get her attention. when I walked away to go find a manager, she followed me and started talking to the other bartenders to also tell me to leave. apparently this isn't out of the norm there and the owner and managers seem to be ok with horrendously rude service. read more

If you're here for a Bears game, don't bother. I recently moved to Denver, and I'm a die hard Bears fan. My family has had season tickets since 1946. However, you only get treated well at Hayters if you've been coming to the bar for 3+ years. Tonight, I was assaulted by a man at the bar during a Bears game, but I was thrown out because he's a "regular." This is the experience I've witnessed with other people as well since moving to Denver and coming to Hayters. You can't even get a seat unless you've been part of their cult for years - they have every single table and bar stool reserved an hour before the game begins, with signs on each seat for the regulars. I understand "rewarding" people who consistently bring you business, but new people are treated like trash. I will not be back, ever. And to the staff who backed up the man who touched me, you're a disgrace. read more

I used to come here for Cat-Griz satellite games. AKA the Great Divide trophy game between Montana State University and the University of Montana. But, sadly, we were evicted by fans of THE Ohio State University ... who come here every week, not just one a year. This is a solid sports bar with a surprisingly good menu. The service is snappy. The tap list is very good. And the top, mid, and lower shelf booze is mighty fine. The twenty-odd televisions are abundant. And, where else can one try the signature "Hayterade"? (In almost every color of the rainbow) Aside from the Buckeyes mention, this is very much a hangout for Chicago sports team fans of all stripes. I've never posted on Yelp before but i had to after what happened today. If I could give Hayters zero stars I would. I was meeting some friends there earlier today and I was refused entry because they didn't believe my service dog was real (Context my service dog is very much a real service dog. He has been fully certified and trained for over 4 years now). The bouncers and the manager on duty then proceeded to harass me in front of everyone demanding that I tell them the specifics of my disability if I wanted to get in (despite this being completely illegal) and continued to say my dog wasn't allowed in (you are not allowed to refuse entry to a service dog under ADA federal law). I had multiple onlookers come up to me after the fact to let me know they had seen the interaction and they were disgusted at how those employees acted. A vet tech even came up to me to reassure me that I was within my rights. I hope that Hayters upper management will see this and reevaluate their hiring and training practices. It is your job, as a business in Colorado, under federal law, to be in accordance with the American Disabilities Act. Taking Hayter's down a bit. We have been going here for awhile before Rockies games - especially since it is Chicago bar and I am married to a Cubs fan. We love the drinks, vibes and food. Apparently we haven't been in awhile because not only was service horrid, the food was serious lacking. First up service, we had a very hard working waitress who seemed overtasked today. They seriously needed more help on a Cubs/Rockies game day. It was packed and she could not keep up. 10m for menus, 15m for drinks and worst of all an hour for food. Oh and the food, eh. Sandwich was fine (nothing great, a little lukewarm), but their hand cut fries have turned into barley warm frozen fries that were droopy, tasteless sticks. So many other spots nearby, we can go anywhere. Putting Hayter's on the back burner. They clearly need to get themselves back to where they used to be. read more

3.5 Stars When I think of Hayters both bear and beer come to mind. In the shadow of Coor's Field, Hayters is a Chicago Bears bar. It is a Bears bar fully loaded with beer and other alcohol beverages. Whether your a Bear or beer fan Hayters is an upbeat establishment to enjoy a good time. Here you can enjoy your beer while playing beer pong, Jenga, or just hanging out. Hayter's is much more than a Chicago Bears bar. In reality it is also a pub that serves good food. Before the Colorado Rockies verse New York Mets game, Hayter's became our Colorado Rockies bar and restaurant. In the hours proceeding the game we walked up and down the LodoDenver blocks seeking a good restaurant. None of them gave off a good vibe. That was until we stepped inside Hayter's. We sat ourselves at a booth beside the large Jenga. To tell you the truth I had no idea what this thing was. All I knew was that it was interesting to look at. Much more so than the red brick wall on my right. Beyond the Jenga, my eyes took in the large fully stocked bar. In this upbeat pub environment we toasted the Mile High City with Coor's Light. Being in Denver, we were patriotic to Coor's the Colorado brewed beer. The food followed. I ordered the Hot pastrami & Swiss ($12.99). It featured house cured pastrami, Swiss cheese, 1,000 Island dressing. Two bagel buns anchored the solid sandwich. The French fries and pickle slices that were included tasted as solid as the sandwich. The portion was sufficient enough to fill me up throughout the Colorado Rockies game. We visited in the afternoon when the beer pong table action was on hiatus and the bar stools were mostly empty. Understandably the lunchtime environment was mellow in comparison to a late Saturday night. During our lunch time visit the service was solid. The bartender occasionally took a time out from his mixologist duties to take our order then serve our table. Hayter's turned out to be a solid choice before the Colorado Rockies and New York Mets game. In retrospect the good vibe that at the door segued into a good dining experience. read more

Came here on a Friday night to check out what the buzz was all about seeing lines outside of this door. This place is nice for big groups to socialize and enjoy beers. They have tv screens above the bar for you to watch any games that might be playing. First time here and the waiter says you can get any beer in a bucket! You bet we're going to order that novelty bucket since we saw it on many people tables. Popular beer options the waiter recommend was coors or blue moon. Stopped into Hayter's & Co with every intention of having a few drinks on the rooftop. Of course, on a Saturday night and a Rockies game, the rooftop was packed so we headed right back downstairs. It was pretty empty right before the beer pong tables filled up. (Sidenote: I think the rooftop is called something else altogether - Tap Fourteen perhaps) We sat at the bar and were greeted pretty quickly. Grabbed a couple beers which were good (we're in Denver, of course the beers will be good) and ordered some food. The bf got the Colorado Cuban with fries - ham and pork shoulder with yellow mustard, pickles, onion and cheese pressed between two crispy on the outside baguette. This was pretty good and I kinda wished I got this instead of the Fried Chile Chicken Thigh sandwich - Chile glaze, Szechuan slaw, and just a dot of kewpie mayo (because I couldn't taste this at all). This was underwhelming. I get what they were trying to do, but it just wasn't executed well. And my fries tasted like they were made 10 hours prior and reheated just for me. Chewy and a little hard - just not what you want when you bite into fries. Maybe on a slow weeknight, I would consider trying the rooftop again for a drink or two. Keep in mind this is only based off of 1 visit My friends and I visited from out of down and liked the looks of their menu and decided to stop in. Like most places in CO, great beer list to choose from. I opted to try their Mojito -- which was only OK. The mint was not muddled enough, and it tasted dilute. I wouldn't get this again. The ambiance / scene -- I love it. I love the roof top bar, who doesn't like Corn-Hole or other fun beer games to play with friends?! Really cute bar, great place to hang out. To me, the spot is great the bar is clean, and the service was really friendly. The review comes from the lackluster Mojito, and also the Mahi Mahi sandwich --was more than subpar. The fish was grilled to death, one of the driest pieces of fish I've ever had. Dry, unflavorful and extremely disappointing. Most of my party enjoyed their food -- pretty good bison sliders, cheese curds, but also a bad taco ( one large lump of pork, side cut) thrown onto the taco. $10 full size coors light pitchers serves a value punch for beer pong marathons. I believe they reuse the red cups by washing it so it tastes a bit like chlorine.
