Great Mexican corn cups. Also has good tacos. My go to place for corn cups. They also have a good selection of ice cream.

Food was not authentic at all. Mangonada did not taste like anything. Fresas con crema did not taste good at all. The strawberries tasted old and mushy. So disappointed we wasted our money here. Drop somewhere else to buy something else. Take your money to Las Mangonadas instead. Their fresas con crema tastes fresh and creamy and not old and runny like it did here. Their mangonadas come with FRESH mango and tajin. The ones here came with no mango and no tajin just crappy chamoy. Threw away our food by the way. Never coming here. read more

I've frequented this location over the last few years. Today there was a gentleman that was trying to explain he had paid for 3 extra salsas for his food and the two employees kept telling him no and ignoring him. He asked me to translate and I asked the ladies if he had paid for the 3 salsas like he mentioned - they said they only gave him one because "he always asks for too much and they were only going to give him one". The gentlemen was adamant he had paid the $3 (a dollar x a 2 oz of salsa). The cashier slammed the salsa down and said she already gave him 1. Where they have their condiment section - I noticed there were complimentary salsa containers to fill - I asked if he could just fill those and they said "yes but not him because he always requests extra". I mentioned he was their customer and if he paid, they should be giving him what he is requesting. Both employees stayed quiet and turned away. I will also mention this gentleman was African American.... He was being polite and speaking to them calmly as well. At the end, he still paid an extra $3 apart from the $3 he had already paid and left with mediocre tacos and terrible customer service. Been here at least 30x for years now and hands down the best spot for mangonadas in north austin! I usually get the mango hill, they can actually pack it to go for. My second favorite thing to get here, is a tie between the elote and the pickle Cheetos. Truly authentic elote made just how I like it! Everything here is 1000% not good for you, but it's totally worth it for an occasional treat! One star deducted for the fact there is always a wait. Props they finally got an order ahead option, but it still took 30 minutes and even had to wait once we got there. Hoping they can get this new system together for a speedier process. read more

We drove 41 minutes to this place just to get bad food. 1 star is for the sauce cup. I bought a 12oz cup of Elotes for $5, it was not tasteful, and the corn teste was blend with no season. The corn went to the trash bin because it was just that Trash. The little stand outside has Berria tacos and the meat needs season, but the sauce is good. Not exactly the cleanest place, and the environment is definitely the type I'm not used to since I come from a newer part of Austin. But the snacks are a good Mexican dessert for my first impression. The parking is plentiful, but do be careful around this part of Austin. Aside from Hay Elotes, the shopping center was pretty empty. I ordered the mango hill just like everyone else. I was tempted to try the coconada for the blue color, but the strawberries sticking out of a mango sorbet looked more tempting. I think a fitting description for the mango hill would be mango flavored shaved ice that has sweets stacked on top, and some hot sauce drizzled as a finishing touch. Do be careful buying this dessert if you're a slow eater. The ice will melt, and you'll be left with a cup full of melted mango flavored ice that's mixed with hot sauce. Sums up my feelings toward alcoholic beverage. I would recommend this dessert place. It's definitely something new if you're trying to be adventurous, and I can't think of any other Mexican dessert places around Austin. read more

Awesome little spot. Family and i stopped in for some birria tacos. They had a sign on the wall for a family pack of tacos with a large consomme so we got that. The family pack came with 10 cheese and birria tacos, limes, onions, radish, cilantro, red and green salsa, and a large 32oz consomme. The tacos were good and piping hot. At first i was dunking the tacos in the consomme but that made the tacos fall apart, so i changed to taking a bite of the tacos and then taking a sip of the consomme which i really preffered. They also have desserts and fresh fruit cups which looked really good but i did not try, was too full from the tacos. One of the best Elotes (Coated in hot Cheetos) that I've had in a long time. Very flavorful and delicious

This place is gonna be dangerous. I grew up on the border, I love grilled corn, but I've never cared much for corn cups. That said, Hay Elotes has changed my mind. The corn was absolutely divine. It tasted like freshly shucked corn, nothing from a can. It was steaming hot and perfectly cooked with just enough bite. It was topped with cheese, crema, chili, and lime juice. I completely devoured an 8oz cup of corn and I really wished there was more. Of course this place also offers a bunch of other delicious snack options: raspas, fruit cups, sour hot cheetos, ice cream, and so much more. The girl at the counter also said they make their own ice creams and frozen fruit ice (in mango, pineapple, lime, lemon, and a couple more flavors). The staff was super friendly and answered all of our questions. I'll definitely be a return customer. read more

Their elotes is not good. It had a lot of the bottom of the inedible kernels and was very undercooked. If you do not speak Spanish make sure you really try to learn those words. My 1st time the young lady really tried to help me out. The 2nd time it was an older lady who was very rude. She thought I ordered certain flavors of shaved ice and made them then when the younger girl told her it was wrong she smacked her lips, rolled her eyes, and remade them leaving my cups half empty. I know my numbers and flavors in Spanish so I'm not sure how we got it mixed up but I will not be back. The food is authentic Mexican food. I ordered the Tostilocos which is basically chips topped with baked peanuts and pickled pork skin. Sounds nasty, right? It was, and maybe it was just my American palette, but I can't imagine anyone liking that. I also ordered the elote and the corn was not cooked and topped with a ton of old parmesan cheese. The employees only spoke Spanish so ordering was complicated. The lady employee was rude when I asked for lime with my corn and she also wanted to charge $3 for birria sauce which was clearly pictured on the menu.
