Had a lovely dinner there. Fancy old school parlor feel, but well maintained and not stuffy. A little more background conversation volume than is typical and also more kids around, but not tot he point where it was a problem. Food... Overall solid, no misses with some standouts. Ordered duck entree, rabbit papardelle starter. Boyfriend had soup sampler and NY strip. Pasta was fine, a shade on the bland side, but the texture was excellent and felt light despite the cream sauce, and rabbit was not gamey at all. Duck was cooked very very well. Flavorful skin, unbelievably juicy and none of the tacky texture that duck sometimes has. Tasted like duck without being gamey. Came with a tasty roasted squash and chewy farro, and roasted Brussels sprouts that were solid as well. BFs soup sampler was OK, the crab bisque being the tastiest. The steak was great, beautiful grill marks that actually translated to a lovely char grilled flavor, and cooked properly as well. The portion size was decent, neither of us could finish our food, through no fault of the food. It actually might been the bread that did us in. The bread basket at the beginning was excellent excellent (yes I said that twice). Delicious cranberry biscuit, honey whole wheat roll and herb foccacia-like "breadstick". Apparently one was dairy free, one was vegan, but I couldn't tell. I think they might have been all whole wheat, and I didn't even notice/care (normally I am not a fan). We finished the entire basket even though there was plenty of food coming, just couldn't help ourselves. Server was lovely. Attentive, personable, and efficient. This is a farm to table restaurant that is on the Hershey Hotel grounds (near the outdoor pool). The restaurant is a beautiful English Tudor restaurant and the food was delicious. We went for lunch and got a turkey sandwich with apple butter and swiss on a multigrain harvest bread with a side salad. The sandwich was cooked like a grilled cheese, but very tasty. My husband and I went here for our 13 th wedding anniversary. Big mistake. The wait staff was fine but the food and cleanliness was bad. We spent a 120.00 for terrible burnt and tasteless food. I had the trout and he the rib eye. Both the meat and the veggies were either scorched and all of it tasteless. The Caesar salad had very tiny slice of old tomato and was marginal at best. The food here was not good. My meatloaf was dry and almost crunchy on the sides with bad gravy that looked kind of curdled. Shouldn't gravy be either smooth or with bits of meat? The mashed potatoes just weren't right. String beans had no flavor. My son's burger was ordered medium but came well done. Fries were soggy. My husband liked his fish and chips. Our waitress was also good. We did not bother ordering dessert because we weren't going to take a chance on that also coming out bad also. I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

We were the first table for breakfast, and the place is beautiful. Absolutely love the interior, it never disappoints. The service was great, our glasses never went empty, everything was ready for us before we were seated and the food was delivered quickly. The food was outstanding. We were in town visiting a friend and looking around the Hershey Hotel grounds when we stumbled across Harvest. The menu is pretty family friendly, but more expensive than places with similar menus in Hershey or Harrisburg. The burger was very good and cooked to order. The cheese dip was also tasty. Out of town on a business trip and went to the Harvest for dinner. Service was excellent (prompt, attentive, not overbearing). The atmosphere seemed to be friends enjoying each other's company or couples celebrating time together (the couple in front of me had an anniversary dinner). As others have noted they sit you with a nice view of the hillside. Decided to try the Fish and Chips. Excellent selection. Extremely hot, flaky and succulent, the fish was very good. I was not disappointed with any of the meal. As another reviewer has noted, it does tend toward the salty side (had a soup as an appetizer and it was too salty for my normal taste but still very good - great chunks of chicken - they didn't skimp on things). The only thing I wasn't crazy about was dessert. I was surprised that the Reese's peanut butter pie was topped with what seemed like canned whipped cream (salty too). I would have expected the desserts (in Hershey, PA) to be outstanding. Bottom line: I would go again and drink lots of water (again, it's a little on the salty side). read more

I really like the atmosphere, especially the bar area, big screen tv's, pool tables and shuffle board. My friends and I eat here fairly often then enjoy some of the other activities after dinner. Usually one of my favorite places. I must say I have not been impressed with the quality of the food the last couple of times. Last night I ordered a grass fed bone in Rib Eye steak with hollandaise sauce, sides of wild mushrooms and whipped potatoes with leeks and bacon. The server warned us they can't guarantee the steak if ordered more well done than medium, no problem for me I prefer medium rare. One of my friends ordered the same steak medium. When our steaks came out they were very thin and completely over done, no pink in either of the two steaks and mine was very tough. Not sure about my friends, he didn't say anything. Without exaggeration I think this was the worst steak I've had anywhere. The whipped potatoes were very dry and didn't have much in the way of flavor. The wild mushrooms were tasty, but over salted. My guess is that the meals sat under a heat lamp for a while. Anyhow,for the price paid the quality should be much better. On a more positive note the beers are always icy cold and the chocolate cream pie is the best anywhere in my opinion. read more

The food at the Harvest traditionally focused on using fresh local ingredients, and for years the food was quite good. They have been closed due to the pandemic and have just recently opened. I was excited as that was one of my favorites when I visited Hershey, and frankly, the dining options in the area are limited, especially on Sundays, when many places are closed. This time however, the food was awful, just awful. A dish I always loved was the bbq ribs with their chocolate bbq sauce. The ribs were always tender, juicy, meaty and flavorful. This time they were dry, greasy, fatty and just plain disgusting. The fish and chips was soggy, greasy, with absolutely no crunchiness in the coating whatsoever. I couldn't eat it. In fact, as bad luck would have it, we invited another couple to dinner, (how embarrassing), and no one at the table finished their dinner, despite rather paltry portions. When the Circular reopened, they too went through a period of awful food. I am hoping these are just readjustment woes, and that the restaurant isn't doomed forever. Poor quality ingredients may save money in the short term, but what it costs you in business in the long term is always more expensive. read more

The food was awesome. We were in t shirts and shorts from the park and were made to feel very comfortable. We have a 5 and 16 year old and everyone loved the food!! The food was fresh and perfextly prepared. I had filet mingon with mushrooms and bacon whipped potatoes...whopper cake. 16 year old had a turkey BLT burger! I would, definately, go again! They have outdoor seating with a bonfire. Perfect for a romantic dinner as well as families. There is a fake ice rink for skating....we had an awesome evening. read more

We enjoyed the atmosphere at Harvest, but the majority of the meals were disappointing. I had the pumpkin pear soup and the scallop appetizer - both were excellent. That's where the good news ends. The chicken noodle soup was overly salty; the mushrooms with butternut squash grits had no flavor at all. The children's steaks had a sweet sauce that was unappealing to them, and the fries were too salty (again). The most disappointing item was the grilled fish. The choice of sauces for the fish were not appropriate, so we asked for no sauce. The fish came out plain and dry. They need an option such as an oil, caper, lemon sauce for the grilled fish. We didn't try dessert. The service was fine, nothing remarkable. The place is pricey for it not to be perfect. read more

I've been coming to the Hershey Hotel for years and always have a meal or two at Harvest. It had always been quite good. We came here for Christmas dinner, but this time we were totally disappointed. My grandsons, Shlomo and Larry and David, had hanger steak and crab cakes, and french fries and broccoli. It was, in a word, "terrible." I am not sure if it was because it was Christmas or because we ate at 7:30, but they were not on their game that night. The food was not hot and the broccoli was burnt. We weren't in the mood to send the food back and make a big deal out of it, although we mentioned our disappointment to the management. They did reduce the bill. But, we wanted a nice dinner and didn't get it. The price was not a big deal. Will think twice about coming back here or just won't came back on a holiday. I hate to see the grandkids so unhappy. When I get back to the room, I had to order them room service they were so hungry. Larry and David were a bit upset, but little Shlomo was really unhappy and crying. I had to take him to Hershey Park the next morning to make up for his disappointing dinner and I had to take him on rides on a day when the temperature was about 20 degrees. Freezing! The Hershey Hotel has 3 main restaurants, a bar with food and small snack shop that offers sandwiches and such. The Harvest is their "from Farm to Table" restaurant, in a separate building on the back side. The building and decor are very historical Pennsylvania. The wait staff dresses in overalls. Considering the prices, I truly expected so much more. The portions were small, food was a bit bland and the cuts of meat were not top quality, but yet everything was locally grown. Made a dinner reservation here on June 26 to celebrate a family anniversary. The place was packed, with the staff running around trying to keep up with the crowd, and doing a pretty darn good job of it. We had had a late lunch so weren't very hungry, so just ordered salads and sandwiches, but everything was very good and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. To top things off, when our server, Merilee, delivered the bill, she told us that management was giving every guest that night 50% off their entire check as a "thank you" for their support through all of the difficult times over the past year. To be honest, we probably didn't deserve the thanks because it was only our third time eating at Harvest, and the first time at this location (the other 2 times were at the Harrisburg location). When I asked what was going on Merilee explained that she thought this discount was being given at all Harvest locations that night, and explained the reason. Now, we've eaten out plenty of times during the COVID era and tried to support our favorite restaurants, but this was the first time any of them had ever done anything to show us their appreciation in return. So thank you, Harvest, glad you made it through, and we look forward to visiting many more times in the future. read more

I ate here with my husband twice. Had we had the second nights experience the first night we would not have been back. On the first night we were seated a little before our reservation time. The service was great, the food was superb. Everything was prepared to perfection. We had the Harvest Turkey Burger and the Roasted Chicken sandwich. Fries were crispy and hot and not greasy in the least. Drinks were also superior. The Cranberry margarita was not too sweet and perfectly tart and refreshing. Our service was wonderful as well. The waitress was attentive and friendly. We had a wonderful night start to finish. This sadly was not to be our experience the next evening. From the get go the atmosphere was different. We arrived about five minutes early for our 9pm (Sunday night) reservation. We were told we would have to wait, which was fine...five minutes not a big deal. Our wait was nearly 20 minutes not 5. The hostesses were arguing back and forth over who arrived first and who was to be seated first. During this time I noticed kids running in and out and back and forth. It seemed odd for the kind of restaurant it presents itself to be. It IS Kid friendly but it's not Chuck E. Cheese so the frolicking about seemed strange. Apparently the manager agreed b/c at one point he came walking through and told a young boy that "running was not allowed and he needed to slow down". This was also odd as it seemed he was arbitrarily yelling at once child whilst others ran in and out as well. Not sure why he picked that child. Weird. Anyway, it seemed a lot of parents with kids up too late were sitting at their tables and letting their restless kids run around. I find this incredibly rude and infuriating. As I said, this place is not Chuck E. Cheese. If your kids are too young to sit, do not bring them to an establishment such as Harvest. This place is not cheap and I know that I do not pay to listen to your kids scream and fight and run around unsupervised. There were children there who were very well mannered and sat appropriately. Unfortunately there were a lot of children who did NOT. We were finally seated in a booth and drink orders taken. Our waitress was nice enough. I ordered the Berry Sangria (red) and husband ordered a Yuengling yet again. The Sangria was delicious. A little pricey but very good. The bread basket was brought with the same breads as the night before. The waitress was a bit more stingy with the bread. One slice of rosemary and one buttermilk biscuit and one whole wheat roll. Where the bread had been hot and fresh the night before, it was cold and had clearly been sitting on this night. Disappointing. For our appetizer we ordered the Rhode Island Calamari. This was brought out quickly and my husband commented on the speed. The waitress said "Calamari cooks quickly". Yes it does, unfortunately it was clear that the calamari had been dumped from the fryer on to the plate. It had not been drained at all. There was a huge pool of grease on the bottom of the plate. That was all we tasted, grease. It was very unappetizing and unpleasant. Had the calamari been allowed to drain of excess grease it might have been good. Although along with the grease the calamari tasted very fishy to me. It did not taste fresh. I had a couple of bites and I was done. The greasy fishy heaviness was too much for me. Our entrees arrived before we were finished with our unappetizing appetizer. This annoys my husband. Pacing of a meal is important and they were clearly rushing us even though we had the latest reservation possible. They weren't trying to turn over tables they were trying to get people OUT. Very annoying. For my entree I ordered The Pittsburgh burger but instead of a beef patty I asked to substitute turkey instead. (I don't eat red meat). This burger has grilled red onion, a fried egg, coleslaw, french fries and Maytag Blue cheese. It is served on a Kaiser roll. I noticed right off that the roll was OLD and stale. It felt like cardboard. It fell apart when I was trying to cut my burger in half. So I ended up having to use my knife and fork to eat my burger. The burger was definitely overcooked on this night. It was bland. No seasoning. The blue cheese had a gritty consistency. The red onions were raw not grilled. This was just an unappetizing MESS on my plate. My french fries were greasy and cold. I was beyond disappointed. I ate about a quarter of my burger before I was unable to continue. It just did not taste good. I would have alerted the waitress but we didn't see her again for some time. My husband ordered the Shepherds Pie. He said it was just "okay". The vegetables were very inconsistently cooked. Some were crisp and nearly raw while others were mushy and overcooked. It was fairly flavorless. This entire meal was a huge disappointment from our arrival to the service to the really bad food. Clearly this place has issues with consistency in both service and food quality. too bad. read more

Made a reservation for 6 two weeks in advance. Added on an additional person the next week with no fuss. They sat us at a beautiful round table in corner with large windows on each wall. This was really nice so that we could all talk together. The service was great. I ordered my appetizer, entree, and dessert off the Valentine's Day menu and it was all delicious and high end looking. The hotel gardens are right in front of the restaurant and were beautiful. This was my first time at this restaurant and I will definitely be back for other special occasions. read more

It usually drives me nuts when people say places that are expensive are overrated but in this case, it is true. The steak prices were really high. I didn't want steak so it didn't bother me. I ordered trout and it was a tiny fish for $25 and I had to spit out the bones. The salad and baked potato were good. Bread tasted a bit stale. Nothing special. Since we were there two nights and had the kids, we went there a second night. The service took forever and my kids were melting down. My husband ordered the chicken club and the bacon was raw so he sent it back. The waiter brought him out more raw bacon. My husband didn't say anything but I did. They comped dessert. The dessert shooters are good, especially the salted caramel chocolate custard. I guess this is the level you would expect at at resort where you are somewhat held captive by the fact that you are tired and don't want to venture out to find a place to eat after a long day at the parks. read more

Thank you harvest for totally ruining our New Year's Eve, they seated us in the bar area about one foot away, we had people stood at the bar and totally around our table, we were disgusted. The waitress moved us to a table a little further back, we wanted to get out as soon as possible and did not bother with dessert or coffee. We asked to see the manager and complained to him and he agreed with us and said he was told to put extra tables in for the new year. Never again, this is what you get when you pay good money for a meal, oh and my husband ordered a side that never came!, it was the most horrible experience and our night was totally spoilt. More like a 4.5 star place. Food was great and service was spot on. Harvest is an upscale farm-to-table restaurant next to Hotel Hershey. Entree prices can get pricey for steaks ($25-$40), but sandwiches are available at more reasonable prices too ($10-$20). Tried the fish and chips (Yuengling beer battered; overall great), salmon (pan seared, overall great), and the special - Soft shell crab (cornmeal batter; overall ok - a little to salty). Overall ambiance inside and outside was nice. Fire pit for roasting making s'mores is available (for a fee) at sunset. Also there is an outdoor skate rink that's pretty cool. Inside, the dress code is pretty laid back as long as you look stylish (shorts/sandals are acceptable, just don't dress like a scrub). read more

I have to give kudos to Harvest for offering gluten free options and also providing you with locally harvested vegetables etc... They have one of the best kids menus I have ever seen with many options besides chicken fingers or pizza! I wish that they were open for breakfast as well considering the Hershey Circular Dining Room is the only available option at the Hotel. Check them out! read more

We were told that the Hotel Hershey is must see and this is correct! Beautiful grounds. We anticipated that lunch would be quite pricey but we were in the mood to splurge. Surprisingly, not pricey! I had a salmon burger and there was so much salmon in the sandwich that I had to remove some; I recommend requesting a side of garlic aioli to add to it. Hand cut fries were tasty. Meatloaf sandwich was a disappointment, however; dry, thin cut of meatloaf. Great service, also. read more

Just finished a very disappointing dinner at Harvest. We took my mother-in-law there for her 70th, and we were less than satisfied with the food. As a previous reviewer wrote, the tables were beyond sticky..the napkins stuck to them. The server was attentive and helpful, so I cannot complain about the service. Now, the food is our biggest complaint, I ordered a filet, it was tasteless and while it was cooked to my request it was charred on the outside. The filet tasted burnt and it had a very bitter taste to it. I was told the vegetable of the day was broccolini, so I ordered that, it was just plain old broccoli..guess they thought I wouldn't notice. My father-in-law also ordered a steak, it was tough, hard to cut, and also charred on the outside. It was just a disappointing meal and for what we paid, I expected a whole lot more. I have had better meals at Texas Roadhouse. We didn't complain about the food as we didn't to ruin my mother-in-law's birthday dinner, but we most certainly will never return. read more

I've been there twice and both times the food wasn't great. The Caesar dressing on salad was very plain, no flavor. The soup I had once was way too thick, like paste. The bread they serve before dinner is very dry not moist at all. Wish they could make it better and serve bread warm like many other restaurants. Went here for my wife's birthday. Had a reservation for 8:15 and we got there a little early so they showed us to the tavern for a drink and said it'd be about 5 minutes. We sat there for about 30 minutes and went back to the hostess and asked when our seat would be ready. They said it was ready now and apologized for forgetting about us. Once we got seated we ordered drinks. it took a while to get bread to our table (a couple that got seated next to us 10 minutes after we arrived got bread before us) but once we got our bread and ordered our food/drinks it was a good experience. The food was good. I had the Pittsburgh burger and my wife had the ziti. Both excellent dishes and dessert was peanut butter pie and bacon maple cheesecake. Overall they were very friendly. When I got seated the server brought me water and never came back. I"m seated at a table by the bar and 15 min later I just went to the bar and placed my order. It's been 45 minutes and no one has come to check on me . I finally asked another server if she could check on the status of my order and my sever came back and said it should be out soon. Had an excellent meal here while staying at the Hotel Hershey. I would've rated them five stars, but not all of the people in my party were that satisfied. One of them said that their lobster Cobb salad was bland, and another asked for an entree of Mac and cheese and received a side of it instead. The prices are definitely pricey, but the ingredients are very fresh and I think you really get what you pay for. I had the arugula and granola salad, and it was AMAZING. I absolutely recommend it, it was the best salad I've ever had! This place is pretty nice, I would recommend it to friends. read more

We are staying at the hotel for my husband's 40th birthday weekend. We have eaten at the other restaurants and thought we would try Harvest last night for dinner. Unfortunately we did not have a great experience. We ordered the mussels cooked in fennel, bacon, cream and wine. First of all there was no bacon in the sauce, not even the flavor of it. Second, there were 25 mussels in the bowl for $11-13. The portion was TINY considering mussels cost .03 cents a piece on average. There was also no seasoning in the broth. We would never order that again. Next we got a wedge salad. I should have taken a photo. It was the tiniest salad I have ever seen, covered in a few bacon pieces, roasted tomatoes, and a TON of blue cheese. There was more blue cheese than lettuce. I actually had to scrape some off to make the salad edible otherwise I would have just been eating chunks of blue cheese. For our entrees my husband ordered the 14oz ribeye, rare with a baked potato and roasted mushrooms, while I ordered the burger, med rare with cheddar, bacon and roasted mushrooms. The $48 (you read that right) came out medium well and we sent it back. The first time it had no bone in it. But when it came out the second time it had a bone and looked like a different cut of meat. But I was halfway finished my burger and he didn't want to wait any longer. My burger was fine, certainly nothing to write home about. The major issue I had with it was the roasted mushrooms still had the inedible stems on them. Some mushrooms have stems that you should eat, these (looked like shiitake) did not. They were tough and chewy. Our server was Ashley and while she was efficient, she was not friendly. The manager or shift supervisor did come over to apologize for the steak. This was an underwhelming meal to say the least. read more

My wife brought me here on Father's Day. We had dined here on Mother's Day, and had a good experience, and my steak was excellent. We had reservations for 2:15. I was hoping for another enjoyable steak dinner. We were seated immediately, but waited "forever" for a waiter to come to bring us menus and water. We were served only from a brunch menu. So I had to settle for steak and eggs. Service was very slow. We had to remind the waiter twice to that we wanted coffee. The breakfast steak was truly the worst I had ever had, tasteless and tough. Guests at the neighboring table were also disappointed that they could not order from the dinner menu as well, and they were not happy with their service. This is the club-house restaurant for the Hershey Hotel, and had every reason to expect a great experience, but were severely disappointed. read more
